  1. Edit Toolbar menu gets hidden when a toolbar is too close to the bottom edge of the screen

    If you have a custom toolbar and it’s positioned too close to the bottom of your screen, and you press the Edit Toolbar button — the portion of the 'drawer' with all the tool icons is positioned from the top of the toolbar, and it’s bottom half is missing... you can’t move it, scroll it, reach to the icons hidden — you have to close it, move the toolbar, and start editing it again.

    Please position this 'dropdown menu' in a way it’s seen in full, or resized to fit into the screen, no matter where the toolbar is on…

  4. Placing PDF comes up with an Unknown error

    There is a bug with Illustrator when placing certain PDF's I get "An unknown error is detected...." I have been getting this error since Adobe Illustrator 2023.
    Files will work if it's opened in Rosetta but not with the regular version. Now with 2025 the option to open in rosetta is gone.

    Using Mac OS
    Apple chip M1
    16gb Ram
    Sonoma 14.5

    Do not have any issues with this on the Intel macs.

  5. They won't let me generate an MLK Jr. illustration for my MLK day design

    I run a Ryzen 5 5500U MSI laptop and my Adobe Illustrator is the latest one from 2025.

    I literally tried the most well-explained prompt so it leaves no confusion at all. But still in the middle of the process it gets terminated. Please take a look at my prompt,

    "Create a clean, minimalist, and bold 2D illustration of Martin Luther King Jr. that highlights his facial features and expression.   6. Pasted/embedded images are sporadically appearing or disappearing depending on scroll direction

    When opening an ai file with V29.2 on Windows 11 utilizing a RTX a2000 laptop (Firmware 553.50) embedded and linked images appear and disappear depending on scrolling direction. This renders the program completely unusable. This bug does not appear in V28.7.3

  7. Context Task Bar flickers when panning with a scroll, using mouse or touchpad

    CTB hides itself when we pan.
    It looks more or less tolerable when we hold Spacebar to pan, or hold a mouse wheel ('why should someone has access to the panel while scrolling'), but it looks HORRIBLE when scrolling with a wheel or using a touchpad.

    The panel flickers each tick, making it painful to look at.

    Some say it happens for them only with Show Grid enabled, but for me it just happens all the time. Either way, CTB should be smart enough to skip the state update for this type of panning.

  8. BMP bitmaps are seen as RGB, lose transparency and cannot be coloured in 28.5

    Place a .BMP 1 bit file in AI 28.5. It is seen as RGB and cannot be coloured.
    PSD and TIF bitmaps work fine.

  9. Illustrator gets minimized when toolbars get touched at Mac Sonoma 14.1, with application frame disabled

    By updating to MacOS 14.1, In Illustrator 2024 28.00, as soon as you touch the toolbars, they disappear. Keeping the "Application Pane" active does not give the error. Can it be solved. A thousand thanks!

  10. A part of a traced image vanishes when using Image Trace

    When changing raster graphics to vector graphics, an image element (with a yellow background) was removed. It looks like Adobe Illustrator does not recognize this color. How can I solve this problem?

  11. Exporting DWG or DXF and importing it back leads to artifacts

    On importing .dwg or .dxf files into illustrator (even for files that have been exported from illustrator in those formats), the file opens with unwanted artifacts. Please see the image below. On the left is the ai file and on the right is the same file exported as .dwg and opened, with artifacts on the curves.

    This is basic and shouldn't be happening in the first place. It makes working with manufacturing utterly painful.

    Request you guys to please iron out this glitch.

  12. Clipped objects outside of the clipping mask get highlighted with Smart Guides enabled

    With Smart guides turned on, the Selection tools see individual items inside the mask (even though when then clicking it only selects the mask). This behavior is also not desirable as it makes selecting objects really tricky.

  13. Hitting Escape while editing a field does not cancel the value but applies it

    I don’t know why nobody reports this...
    If I input something in a field and I want to abort and return to the previous value, I hit Escape.

    Sometimes the first Escape closes the suggestions dropdown (like in browsers), and only the second one restores the previous value.

    A LOT of apps follow this rule except browsers:
    Affinity Designer, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, Blender...
    Non-design ones too: MS Office, Google Docs, various text editors... A LOT.

    Some apps keep the value entered, but don’t apply it, and put the old one back when an object get reselected — Xara does it.

  14. Draw Inside won’t work with live compound shapes

    Draw Inside is great. Draw Inside lets you create a clipping mask in a fraction of the time it takes to create it with Object > Clipping mask > Make. But it's got some annoying issues.

    1. Draw a shape.
    2. Draw another shape over it.
    3. Make these two shapes into a compound shape.
    4. Select the whole compound shape.
    5. Draw Inside won't work.
    6. But you can put some other shapes under the compound shape, select them all, and do Object > Clipping path > Make.

    The other case is Draw Inside doesn’t work when a clipping group is selected, requires to select…

  16. Braille fonts are displaying incorrectly after latest update (29.1)

    After doing the latest update, one particular font I use is displaying at a different spacing to what it was in the previous versions of illustrator and is incorrect.

    Its a slight difference but I deal with braille on medicine so this is required to be very accurate. I have attached an example but am unable to upload the font, which is a unique braille font for our company.

    I have gone back to the previous version of Illustrator for now to resolve this.

  17. [Win11 23H2] Illustrator 29.1 Doesn't See Installed CMYK Color Profiles

    By default, no installed CMYK color profiles are visible in either Edit > Color Settings > Working Spaces > CMYK and View > Proof Setup > Customize... > Device to Simulate.

    They become temporarily visible again after deleting the following files:

    1) C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Color\ACECache11.lst

    2) C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Color\ACEConfigCache2.lst

    Sometimes I also have to reboot the system to make the profiles visible.

    Unfortunately, the above solution works only once. After creating a new Illustrator files for the second time, all the profiles are gone again.

  18. 下揃えに設定したエリア内テキストを途中で改行すると上にスペースが十分あるにも関わらずオーバーフローする

    macOS13.6.7／Windows10・11
    Illustrator 28.5

    再現手順
    1.エリア内テキストを作成し下揃えに設定した上でテキストを入力する。
    2.任意の部分で改行を入力する。
    3.テキストは上に送られずにオーバーフローする。

    期待する結果
    上に十分な余白がある場合はテキストを上に送りオーバーフローさせない。

    実際の結果
    エリア内テキストに余白がある場合でもテキストの位置がそのまま保持されてオーバーフローを生じる。

    現状の対処方法
    当該エリア内テキストに対してストーリーの再計算が生じる処理（移動やカーニング・トラッキング調整等）を行うと正常な体裁に戻る。

    下揃えにした場合、途中の改行でもストーリー全体の再計算が必要になるのですが、上揃えと同様に改行以降の部分的な再計算だけが行われているように思います。
    また、これに気付かずにドキュメントを保存すると、次にドキュメントを開いて当該エリア内テキストを編集しようとした時に体裁が変化するために
    「このテキストは、別バージョンのIllustratorで作成されました。……」
    のアラートが表示されます。

  19. 保存後、再度開くと文字スタイルがリセットかつ適用できない箇所が一部発生

    文字スタイルの不具合が２点。
    いずれも、クラウドドキュメント（.aic）で保存したファイルを、次の日開いたら発生。

    1. 適用していた文字スタイル（標準文字スタイル）が解除され、再度どの文字スタイルを選択しても適用されない

    2. 適用していた文字スタイル（標準文字スタイル）の部分が文字化けし、設定していないフォントに書き換えられる

    正直、保存→ファイルを開くだけで、こんな不具合が出るのは非常に困ります。尚且つ、1.の再度文字スタイルが選べない = 復旧できないは致命的です。
    XDに近い、テキストスタイルはとても便利な機能なので、早急に安定活用できるよう改善お願いいたします。

    1. 選択箇所のように、サイズ10級にしていた箇所が、フォント種、サイズなどめちゃめちゃになり、スタイルの再設定もできない

    1. 1.と同様の「標準文字スタイル」箇所が勝手に他のフォントに設定され、尚且つ文字化けを起こしている

  20. Illustrator 28.4 does not preserve SVG object hierarchy

    Starting with Illustrator 28.4, the object hierarchy is not preserved when saving and re-opening an SVG file. Many groups are created for no apparent reason.

    This makes Illustrator completely impractical for editing SVG files. I will have to stay at 28.3 until this error is fixed.
