  1. Type on Path Broken - Can't Resize

    Not sure if this has been reported yet or not. When I use the type on path tool and try to resize it the type's center point is moved and/or the kerning is thrown way off. See the video for an example of what's happening.

    The only way I can get around this is making a copy of the object so I can save an editable version, then outline the text on the other version so I can resize. This is a MASSIVE pain.

  2. Mega huge trim printer marks in PDF copy, using large canvas document

    AI 25.4.1 / Win10

    ACTION TAKEN:
    Saving a copy of A2 sized AI project as PDF file (print-production style).

    RESULT:
    Extremely huge printer marks in PDF (see screenshots)!
    Tried several PDF versions in saving dialogue with same failed result.

    WORK-AROUND:
    1. Verify artboard size (and PDF document size as well) several times, just to be sure if my mind works OK this morning. And it's working fine (sight of relief :-)
    2. To make printer-ready PDF, original AI file was imported to InDesign (via import, Cmd+D).
    3. Then, upscaled imported graphics to 100% (which made me guess than original AI…

  3. Navigation bar info in lower left gets displayed in wrong location

    I have 3 monitors.
    2 are 27" 4K resolution, and the third is a 24" XP-PEN Pen display (2560x1440), which is where Illustrator always starts and runs in full-screen.

    Illustrator apparently cannot always figure out how to calculate all its object locations, since the navigation info on the bottom bar on each file open lands UP the screen, when opening an Illustrator document and Illustrator is in Maximized mode.

  4. Bug: Export to SVG messing up illustration

    When i export an artboard or selection to svg it messes up the location of some parts of the illustration while exporting to other formats (png) works correct. I use illustrator version 26.3.1. I have like 20 other artboards with other illustrations, all messed up. Like a month ago it still worked.

  7. Clipping Mask broken in SVG export if name contains hyphen

    An Illustrator document that contains a clipping mask will not export correctly if the path used for clipping has a - in the name.

    In the resulting SVG code, the path definition looks like this:

    <rect id="clipping-path" ... >

    but the reference to it looks like this:

    <use xlink:href="#clipping_x002D_path" ... >

    You can see that the - was converted to "x002D" for the "use" tag, but not for the "rect" tag.

  9. White-to-black gradients in opacity masks don’t go fully transparent

    For opacity masks, 100% White should represent a 100% absence of masking and 100% Black should represent 100% masking (like in Photoshop).

    The current system in Illustrator seems very unintuitive and flawed – a basic white to black gradient does not even totally obscure an image/object at one end of the gradient.

    It shouldn't be the case that you then have further reduce the opacity of the gradient colours to achieve a standard gradient effect.

    Make sure you use RGB black instead of Grayscale black in your gradients when making opacity mask in a RGB-based document to avoid shallow blacks and not fading to a complete zero.

    More on that in the comments.

  10. 特定の条件でテキストの中窓部が斜線で塗りつぶされる

    再現方法
    サイズA4で新規アートボードを作成
    「要冷凍」というテキストオブジェクトをサイズ15ptで作成
    このテキストにアピアランス「パスのオフセット：0.05mm」を適用する
    アートボードの座標をX座標 100mm、Y座標 -148mmに変更
    「要冷凍」テキストの座標をX座標 197mm、Y座標 -2.1mmに変更
    文字の塗り潰しが添付画像のようになる（座標は全て左上起点）

    テキストをアウトライン化しても発生する
    どのようなフォントでも発生する
    同じような大きさの複合パスでも発生する
    線幅では発生しない

    以下の環境で確認
    MacOS 10.15.7
    Adobe Illustrator 26.0.1
    Adobe Illustrator 25.4.2
    Adobe Illustrator 24.3

    Windows10 Pro
    Adobe Illustrator 24.3(64bit)

    通常作成される、座標（X0,Y0）のアートボードで、版面左上端にテキストがかかっている場所で発生するようだ。普通こんな位置にテキストは置かないが、アートボードの座標がたまたまY軸方向にマイナス（上）X軸方向100mmの位置にあると、版面の真ん中で発生してしまう。文字というより複合パスで発生しているようである。

    対処方法
    アートボードの座標をリセットして、当該オブジェクトを適当な位置に移動して戻すと解消する。
    必要がなければ線幅で対応する。

    ご報告いただきました問題につきまして、再現が確認できました。

    「パスのオフセット」効果が適用されている文字の中マド部分の直線と、「Y軸 = 0」のラインが重なる場合に発生するようです。
    簡単に「田」や「A」の字で再現できました。

    今後の開発進捗などはこちらでご報告させていただきます。

  11. Pixel preview doesn't refresh correctly until reapplied

    Steps to reproduce:
    - New document with units set to pixels
    - View: 'Snap to pixel' and 'pixel preview' turned on.
    - Use the rectangle tool to make a new shape, eg. 20 pixels square.
    - Set the fill colour to a high contrast colour (eg. dark grey) and turn off the stroke
    - zoom the view, move around.

    Expected result:
    - the rectangle should appear pixel-perfect (sharp) against the pixel grid, with no anti-aliased bluring
    - the view should acurately update when I zoom and move around to display pixel perfect artwork

    Actual result:
    - the rectangle is bordered…

  12. Сonverting a type object from Area to Point replaces soft breaks with paragraph breaks

    Illustrator's 'Convert To Point Type' should not change soft line breaks to paragraph breaks, as the GIF shows.

  13. Freeform Gradient / Gradiente Livre - Problemas com objeto expandido

    [HELP] [Free Gradient] Guys, I have a problem that I can't solve. I created a vector icon that is joined and expanded. When I apply Gradient Free it appears normal.   14. Add Anchor Points adds sharp points on smooth curves (and converts smooths to sharps)

    If I have an circle with 4 smooth points and use Add Anchor Points command to add points to it, all new four point become sharp instead of smooth.

    Also, there are reports that Ai also convert original smooth points to sharp also, and this behaviour differs from platform to platform.

  15. 3D Extrude doesn't treat a group as a group

    I’ve got a logo I need to extrude, but Illustrator appears to be treating each object within the logo as having a separate instance of the 3D Extrude effect applied. You can see an example in the attached video – I add the effect and the preview is exactly what I’d expect, but when AI renders the effect, each object loses the perspective it has in the preview.

  16. SVG Exporter with decimal to 1 rounds lower percentage opacities to 0

    macOS Catalina 10.15.7, Adobe Illustrator 26.5

    In the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, the SVG exporter when the decimals parameter is 1 low percentage opacities are rounded to 0 in the CSS styles of the SVG file. This problem did not exist in older versions of Adobe Illustrator (2017, 2018)

    1. In a new Adobe Illustrator file make some paths or shapes, set fill color and set opacity to 10%.

    2. Export for Screens / Format SVG.

    3. Format Settings:
      Styling: Internal CSS
      Font: Convert To Outlines
      Images: Link
      Objects IDs: Minimal
      Decimal: 1
      Minify: false
      Responsive: false

    4. Export Artboard

    Expected result: SVG…

  18. Cannot Successfully Get Into Project

    AI opens normally but when I start a new file things go awry. The home screen image remains "ghosted" over the blank project. Any side panel I open and close will then appear as if it is both open and closed at the same time. If I toggle the visability of the layer then it sort of clears the project screen to an almost normal looking project start (as in it clears the ghosted panels and home screen) but I cannot draw or do anything on the project. I am not experiencing any performance issues as far as lag or…

  19. 透明部分を含むグレースケールモードのPSDファイルを配置するとGPUプレビューできない。

    オペレーティングシステム　macOS 10.15.6（imac20,1 32GBmem/1TBSSD/AMD Radeon Pro 5300_4GB）
    Illustrator CC ver.25.2.3

    問題が発生したときに実行していた手順
    1. CMYKドキュメントをGPU表示で編集中に透明部分を含むグレースケールモードのPSDファイルを配置する。
    2. GPUプレビューからCPUプレビューに切り替わり、以降、Illustratorを再起動するまでそのドキュメントでは先程の配置画像を除去してもGPUプレビュー表示に戻せない。

    想定していた結果
    GPU表示が正しく機能する。

    実際の結果
    CPU表示に強制的に切り替わってしまい、GPUプレビュー表示に出来ない。

    RGBモードのドキュメントではこの症状は発生しません。透明部分を含む画像形式であっても他の形式ではこの問題は発生しません。また、Windowsでは起きないとの報告を受けています。

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.3.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  20. Dashed line not working

    I have the latest build of Illustrator 2021 for macOS Big Sur. When I try to apply the dashed line feature to lines or shapes, the effect does not show up. It’s as if I never clicked it. What’s going on here? I’ve never experienced this in past versions of Illustrator. I even tried deleting my preferences. Still nothing. This is so frustrating!
