The interface doesn't appear
When I open Ai, the interface never load(1). If I pass the cursor over the top, that bottons appear(2). And, if I select a new color of interface appear the rest(3), but if I press "Ok", that disappears.

Rotate tool Glitch
My rotate tool when used for copying with or without my wacom, starts sticking, and the object just keeps moving with my cursor. My only fix is restarting and hoping the app saved my recent changes. This is hindering me from doing BASIC and Simple things like copying a custom shape and maintaining the circular composition. I was trying to make a unique cycle like shape. I put the rotate point in the center and i was attempting to duplicate that shape inside the circle but instead of copying or doing anything, it just kept rotating even after i let…

can't paste object. the requested transformation....
the image is 5 inches, and I'm pasting into a several page 8.5 x 11 document.... really can't tell you how much time I'm wasting, and I'm very irratated.

Playing scripts via action with no open documents
Running scripts via an action only appears to work if there is at least one open document.
Steps:
1. Create a simple script (such as app.documents.add)
2. Save to Illustrator scripts folder.
3. Record to action via 'Insert Menu Item'
4. Make sure no documents are open
5. Play action. Illustrator displays the message 'The object <ScriptName> is not currently available.'If you run the script via File > Scripts, it runs normally. Illustrator 2018 Artboard Problem
Every time I try to add a new artboard or rearrange existing artboards it causes Illustrator to freeze and I have to force quit. This was not a problem in Ai2017, please fix.

It does not highlight the page on the artboard window
I select a page from the artboard window. I navigate between pages with PageUp and PageDown on the keyboard.
I'm looking at the artboard window. but I do not see which page I am on. it does not highlight the page.
This problem came with the latest update. (Ullustrator version 22.0.0)

Image Trace only creates a white box
The "Image Trace" function only creates a solid white box, regardless of what image trace option I select.

Illustrator 2018 Crashes
I have Surface Studio, 32 Gig, Windows 10. Today I installed the CC Updates and now Illustrator crashes every 2 or 3 minutes. I uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled it, but the crashes continue. Finally in desperation I uninstalled Illustrator 2018 and reinstalled Illustrator 2017. At least now Illustrator is stable.
I sure would like to know what to do to fix the problem. You know it wouldn't be a bad idea if one could reach support with install problems.

ブラックの色をドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100の色がリッチブラックになる
塗り（または線）を画像のように下のブラックを選択するところからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100がリッチブラックになってしまった。 ドラッグ＆ドロップではなく、クリックで色を選ぶとBK100になる。スウォッチの中に入っているブラックからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100になる。これはCS6の時からある バグです。

Can't see anchor point and handles of paths after breaking link to symbol.
- Version 21.1.0
- Draw the circle or any other simple shape, convert it to symbol then break link to symbol. Choose Direct selection tool and click on any anchor point. As result you will not see the handles of any point. The handles are shown only in isolation mode or outline mode but not in basic prewiew mode.

Large Amounts of Text overrun text area, disregard justification
I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).
I am creating a 6'x4' poster, where a single text box holds the entire text of the Bible (~730,000 words) as a single string of text (regular spaces between words, but no paragraph returns) in Helvetica Neue Lt Std, 107 Extra Bold Condensed, 3 pt size with 2.7 pt leading, all caps, full justification, default hyphenation. I am using a text wrap around a compound object with a transparent fill to create a negative space in the midst of this text block (in my case, that compound object is text converted to a shape, so…9 votesThanks for reporting this bug Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

Pattern Scale Not Working
My pattern scale has stopped working recently for user created patterns (it works ok on the default patterns). Previously I could create a pattern but dragging into the swatch menu, and then when I dragged the corners, the scale of the pattern would adjust along with the size of my shape. Now it does not.
I have checked that "Transform Both (object and pattern)" is selected from the Transform Panel dropdown, along with Settings > General > Transform Pattern Tiles is also checked on.

1. 新規ドキュメントにポイントテキストを複数作成する。そのうち、いくつかは縦組みに設定。
2. すべてのポイントテキストを選択してグループ化する。
3. ダイレクト選択ツールまたはTツールで縦組みのテキストを選択する。
4. メニュー：書式→組み方向を選択した際に縦組みテキストを選択しているにもかかわらず横組にチェックが入っている。期待する結果
縦組みのテキストを選択した際には該当メニューで縦組みにチェックマークがついている。実際の結果
縦組みを選択しているにも関わらず横組みにチェックマークがついている。この縦組み・横組の表示は選択範囲に複数の状態が含まれた場合にデフォルトの横組が選択されるという挙動になっています。端的に言って、この複数ステートをデフォルトで表示してしまうのも問題です。本来であれば双方にチェックマークがつかない状態で表示するべきところです。
グループ化されたオブジェクトの一部を選択した場合でもこの組み方向の機能はペアレントの状態を参照しているようです。正確に選択範囲の状態を反映した表示にするべきです。EN Translate

Custom art brush results in way too many anchor points when expanded

Having a simple path (with minimum amount of points), applying a simple art brush (with minimum amount of points), and then expanding it gives a ton of extra points, hardly needed to define resulting shapes.
It worked MUCH better in CS4... and then became much worse in CS6 (or perhaps in CS5) — take a look at the images attached.
Yes, there are tools to deal with the mess afterwards: native Simplify, plugin VectorFirstAid... but it should not be like this in the first place.
And please, do not 'solve' it by throwing in…

Add “...” to the menu items of the modal dialog

In macOS apps, it is customary to append “...” to menu items that require the user to perform additional actions after selecting the menu item (e.g., modal dialogs). This is found in the Human Interface Guidelines | Apple Developer Documentation.
Illustrator 2025 (29.4) followed this rule, but Illustrator 2025 (29.5) has departed from this rule for a few items.
- File > Generate Vectors
- Object > Generate Vectors
- Object > Gen Shape Fill

Offset Path and Aligned Strokes get rendered partially with a specific handle configuration
When a curved segment of a path has diverging handles that are oriented in different quadrants across the X axis (this is my guess), like it’s shown in the attached document and the GIF, Illustrator renders the result only up to the horizontal tangents of the path. Same thing happens if you try to toggle Align Stroke options (they seem to use the Offset math).
Adding and extra point on the rendered segment helps, but it’s not really a solution.
The bug is quite old and perhaps it’s time to get it fixed?8 votes -
中韓フォントの文字組みを変更してもアキが変わらない
フォント「思源黑體 TW」の文字組みを「なし」や「行末約物半角」などに変更しても、アキ量が変化しない現象がありました。
上記現象が発生したバージョンは下記の通りです。OS：Windows 10 Pro
Illustrator CC：V 29.1、V 29.2、V 29.3.1（V 29.2.1、V 29.3は調べてません）
なお、V 29.0、V 28.7.3 は当該現象は発生していません。問題発生時の手順：
・スクリプトを使いCSVデータを読み込んで文字情報を取得、文字をイラストに書き込む
・文字入力後、フォント「思源黑體 TW」へ変更
上記どちらでも問題が発生します。想定していた結果：

・A-OTF UD新ゴ Pr6N L
・メイリオ
・游ゴシックIllustratorフォーラムにも投稿し他の方にもご検証いただいたところ、日本語以外（繁体字、簡体字、ハングル）のフォントで同様の現象が起きているようです。
また、InDesign20.1(2025)でも同様の現象が起きているようです。バグであれば是非ともご対応いただけると幸いです。

Select Unused Swatches does not select the second black swatch in Grays color group
— Create a new Print document with default swatches.
— Delete ALL the presets: brushes, symbols, graphic styles...
— Now Open Swatches and run Select All Unused command from its flyout menu.
White and Black are not selected (expected in a way).
But notice that 'C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100' is also not selected.
So when all the selected swatches get deleted, this black duplicate stays, and the color group stays, and you have to delete it manually — each time.I tried to understand what forces Ai to keep it.

Illustrator prevents Mac display from sleeping due to inactivity
When Illustrator is left open for some time, it prevents my MacBook display from turning off and locking. It also prevents the screensaver from coming on. I am 100% sure this is caused by Illustrator because I have done the following experiment twice:
- Change the screen saver to come on after 1 minute.
- Leave the Mac idle for over 1 minute.
- Screen saver does not start.
- Close Illustrator application.
- Leave the Mac idle again.
- Observe that the screen saver starts and the computer locks after 1 minute.
After restarting Illustrator, the problem goes away for a short time but then…
