Hitting Escape while editing a field does not cancel the value but applies it
I don’t know why nobody reports this...
If I input something in a field and I want to abort and return to the previous value, I hit Escape.Sometimes the first Escape closes the suggestions dropdown (like in browsers), and only the second one restores the previous value.
A LOT of apps follow this rule except browsers:
Affinity Designer, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, Blender...
Non-design ones too: MS Office, Google Docs, various text editors... A LOT.Some apps keep the value entered, but don’t apply it, and put the old one back when an object get reselected — Xara does it.

Illustrator ver.26.5〜再現手順
1.環境設定で「リアルタイムの描画と編集」をオンにする。
2.任意のオブジェクトを作成し、「効果→スタイライズ→ぼかし」を適用する。
3.グループ選択ツールで選択しドラッグを開始。ドラッグ中はリアルタイム描画の低解像度表示となる。
4.ドラッグ中にoptionキーをプレス。そのまま任意の位置までいどうする。
5.ドラッグを終了すると当該オブジェクトがコピーされる。通常の移動ではドラッグ終了時に適切な解像度でのレンダリングが行われるが、途中からoptionキーをプレスした場合適切なレンダリング結果とならずリアルタイム描画の状態のままとなる。期待する結果
通常の移動時と同様適切な解像度での結果表示となる。実際の結果
移動中の低解像度の表示のままの結果が得られる。回避方法。
「リアルタイムの描画と編集」を外してリアルタイムの描画をさせないか、ドラッグ開始前にoptionキーを押しておく。この挙動は最終的に行われる実際の解像度でのレンダリングが行われない事による不具合かと考えられます。この影響は
スタイライズに含まれる「ぼかし」「ドロップシャドウ」「光彩」や３Dとマテリアル等のビットマップレンダリングが伴う処理で出ます。今回はoptionショートカット利用のコピーという条件ですが、他にも発生条件が存在するようにも思います。
何にしろ、低品質でデータが保持されると印刷事故に直結します。早急にご対応頂きたいものです。9 votes -
Scaling proportionally not working with Use Preview Bounds enabled
Very weird issue happening at the moment. I was working on a file and realized some things which were supposed to be proportionate were not. I double checked and actually Illustrator was not scaling things proportionally!
Video to show what happens.So far I've uninstalled Illustrator and re-installed it. Seems like keeping Preview Bounds off is the only thing that works. If you got any ideas please let me know :)

Dimension tool prefers to snap to or edit an existing dimension instead of starting or completing a new one
Take a look at the GIF.
I need to measure the width of one square, and then measure the overall width of both squares.I create the first dimension with no problem.
However, when I try to create the second one, Ai plays dumb.When I click the leftmost point, the tool thinks that I am to EDIT the existing dimension (although I am clicking and not click-and-dragging, and I am clicking an endpoint of it, and not in the middle!)

Illustrator 27.9 Adobe PDF Preset will match what it was last modified to.
This seems new to 27.9 and removes confidence in save presets.
Steps to replicate:
1) Save file as Adobe PDF format
2) Select [Smallest File Size] from presets.
3) Check Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities (note it now says: [Smallest File Size] (Modified))
4) Click Save PDF
5) Save file as Adobe PDF format
6) Select [Smallest File Size] from presets.Notice the Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities is now selected. Also notice the preset name hasn’t changed to say it's (Modified).

Please update it (or install it from CCD, if you don’t have it) and verify if the issue is no longer happening.

Switching modes in Repeat Options dialog does not change the selected repeat object
Imagine you experiment and convert some art into a Repeat object.
Then you open Repeat Options and see some other variants, like Radial, Grid, and Mirror... OK, you think what do these do? You toggle to them, you set values, you click OK — and nothing you get. These do nothing. You can only change those your object currently have, but not switch the type.- Why can’t I switch the type?
- Why don’t you disable these if they don’t work?

Scrolling Stroke Arrow Styles Crashes Illustrator
When editing a stroke arrowhead, Illustrator freezes and crashes when I try to scroll down the list of available arrowhead options. It will happen in the properties panel and the other stroke panels. It is 100% repeatable. I can select the arrowhead styles that are at the top of the list no problem, but if I scroll it crashes.

ファイル保存時のファイル名編集ポップアップで十字キーを使うとポップアップが落ちる
- MacOS Ventura 13.0／Adobe Illustrator 26.3.1
- Illustratorファイル保存時にファイル名変更欄でのカーソル移動および保存先フォルダを選択するため，十字キーを押した．
- 十字キーに従ってカーソルを移動させたり，フォルダを移動したりできる.
- どの十字キーを押しても，ポップアップ画面が落ちた．

Windows版27.3.1で現行版MS-IME利用時にCtrl+ホイール移動でフリーズ
Windows版27.3.1+MS-IMEが現行版（旧バージョンにしていない）の場合、Ctrl+マウスホイールによる横スクロールを実行するとフリーズします
- Windowsの設定で、日本語IMEの全般設定で「以前のバージョンのMicrosoft IMEを使う」をOFFの状態（デフォルト状態）
- 27.3.1で新規ファイルを作成する
- Ctrl+マウスホイールで横スクロールを繰り返す
この操作のみでフリーズし、一切の操作がきかなくなります。
「以前のバージョンのMicrosoft IMEを使う」をONにすることで回避はできますが、従来の27.2ではこの問題は起きていませんでした。

Mac mini M1Package command destroys filenames and replaces links with others. That's catastrophic for my job. Please fix it as soon as possible.

Problem with Type on a Path after ver. 26.1 update
Prior to updating Adobe Illustrator to ver. 26.1, a drawing with Type on a Path appears as it should. After the update, the text is positioned in a different place along the path. This is confirmed on a second computer. The same file opened on the second computer prior to the update appears normal, and after the update, the text is shifted.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Selection tolerance too tight on high resolution displays in Windows
Selection tolerances are much too tight when trying to select a line rather than a shape - you have to be within 1-2 pixels to select properly, which makes it super hard to select lines.
This can be fixed slightly by changing the UI scale, but only works if you change it to 'comically large'. It works fine on my MacBook so looks like a Windows problem.
Smart guides don't help since smart guides don't work when snap to grid is selected for some reason.

A lot of empty PNG when using Export for Screens function
When exporting with Export for Screens, many empty pngs are created in the file folder. The bug occurs completely randomly. The number of files also defies any explanation. There may be 10 or 1000 files at a time.
System: Windows 10, Illustrator v.26.0.3
New details: this bug occurs if you copy complex graphics to the clipboard. Video attached. I suspect the meshes are to blame.
Update: If you disable Clipboard Handling → Include SVG Code or clipboard log Windows, the problem disappears.

Empty error message
I keep getting an empty error message modal, with no way to close it or exit out of it. It keeps happening when I want to save an .ai file

Images in clipping masks glitching and overlaying artwork when in GPU
This is similar to previous posts but not sure if the same.. apologies if repeating. In the latest version of illustrator, images within clipping masks are glitching out and making the file impossible to work with. These glitched versions of the masked image change constantly when zooming in or out, but do not disappear as they used to when illustrator bugged out previously. see attached screenshot. The orange metal flake texture should only exist within the frame of the bicycle. The lighter orange glitchy shapes do not exist.

GPU performance causes screen artefacts
In AI 25.4, when GPU Performance is enabled, at some point when working on a file, or switching between screens, thin vertical and horizontal black lines will appear. They seem to flash on and off for a second or more as though Illustrator is switching between tabs or other open applications.
I've tried to take a screenshot/video when this happens but it doesn't show up, if you look at the screenshot/video, it's as though those lines were never there.
When GPU Performance is disabled, the issue goes away.
