Animated zoom bug (workspace flickers and turns black when in a group)
- Windows 11 (latest)
- Illustrator 28.3
- The screen flickers and turns black using Animated Zoom within a group. If I exit the group (using escape), the screen returns to normal. Animated Zoom works normally as long as I am not within a group.
The video I've uploaded shows me double-clicking a group to enter it, then using Animated Zoom to produce the flickering and black screen. I hit escape to exit the group, and the screen returns to normal. I then demonstrate that Animated Zoom works correctly when not within the group.

Massive Lag Issue
Every time I open Illustrator, it takes an enormously long time to load. It continues to lag when I'm in the file, working on it - every action requires a wait time, from moving an object to typing a word. This makes using illustrator a massive chore.
This happens to all files, even ones that are very simple - at most maybe 10 individual elements (images and text.) I have the creative suite, so all things are up to date. This issue does not happen with Photoshop or InDesign, which run perfectly, so it's clearly not a memory issue or a problem on my end.

The menu does not respond well right after Illustrator launches

Immediately after starting Illustrator, the menu does not respond to clicks and only works once every two times. Also, the phenomenon occurs that opening a new document does not show up the first time. Focusing on another application and refocusing on Illustrator fixes the problem.
While investigating the cause, it seems to be triggered by the presence of an invalid plugin or its warning screen. Without it, it worked fine.
Steps to reproduce
- Put the invalid plugin into Illustrator's plugin folder
- Start Illustrator
- Click the File menu
Expected result
The File menu will open.
Actual result
Nothing happens. A second click will open it momentarily.
Workaround
- Move the invalid plugin out of the Illustrator plugins folder and launch Illustrator (permanent solution)
- Focus on another application and refocus on Illustrator (temporary solution)
Environment
- macOS 12.6.7(Apple Silicon)
- Illustrator 2024(28.1.0)

Illustratorが起動してすぐはメニューがうまく反応しない
Illustratorを起動してすぐはメニューをクリックしても反応せず、2回に1回しか動かなくなります。また、新規ドキュメントを開いても1度では表示されない現象も起こります。別アプリにフォーカスし、Illustratorに再フォーカスすると直ります。
原因を調べていたところ、無効なプラグインがあること、またはその警告画面の表示がトリガーになっているようです。それがない場合は正常に動きました。
再現手順
- 無効なプラグインをIllustratorのプラグインフォルダに入れます
- Illustratorを起動します
- ファイルメニューをクリックします
期待する結果
ファイルメニューが展開されます

何も起こりません。もう1度クリックすると、一瞬開きます
回避策
- 無効なプラグインをIllustratorのプラグインフォルダから出してから、Illustratorを起動します（恒久的な解決）
- 別アプリにフォーカスし、Illustratorに再フォーカスします（一時的な解決）

Transform Pattern Tiles Checkbox in Settings resets after applying Transofm Effect in Appearance Panel
Hi there!
When you check "Transform Pattern Tiles" in Settings, and after that - edit or apply the Transform effect in the Appearance panel without checking "Transform Patterns" in the Transform Effect window (even if you are not editing a pattern fill), the "Transform Pattern Tiles" checkbox in Settings resets.You don't think about Patterns when you are editing not a pattern fill. So it's insanely inconvenient.

'Share a review link to your file' advertisement dialog still pops when disabled
Sometimes, when I save a PDF file (at least in Illustrator Beta), I get this dialog.
I would like to see it go away forever.It pops up in the most inopportune moment — when I already decided to save a PDF and when I need to SAVE my data, and not to TRY something new. 'Come not between a user and his saved data'. Saving a file is an emergency operation — always, each time — JUST DON’T INTERFERE.
Even though I already chose to never see it again, I still get it. Just use 1KB of your Cloud Storage per user to remember this choice. UV has a lot of request about you finally learn to sync settings, but do at least just that now.
Also — the shady and dirty UX pattern when you hide the Don’t Show checkbox within a button. A button that does not look like a dropdown should never work as one. This approach doesn’t increase trust, it repulse.

Incorrect line weight scaling after vertical reflect command
With "Scale Strokes & Effects" turned on in preferences, using the transform panel to change the length of a line after it has had the vertical reflect command used on it will incorrectly scale the line weight.

Illustrator CC2022以降再現手順
1. 線や麺の組み合わせでライブペイントを作成し着色する。
2. ライブペイントオブジェクトを選択し「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用する。
3. ライブペイントに対して指定した処理が消え、閉図形外で保持されていた線も幅0.5pt、K100の黒に変化する。期待する結果
ライブペイントオブジェクトに対してオーバープリントした際、閉図形外のK100の線等以外にオーバープリント属性を適用せず、ライブペイントオブジェクトの状態を保持する。実際の結果
ライブペイントオブジェクトに指定した塗りなどの情報が消え、元から持っている線幅等の情報も一定値に変化する。代替処理

Glitchy Selection of simple rects, freezes, lags
I haven't used Illustrator for some years.. you can check my previous posts with great ideas and upvoted.
And now I just back to Illustrator, installed it trial on a fresh macOS MacBook and got this lags, video attached.
I just created empty document, with a couple rects and when I try to select any it lags like a crazy, everything is jumps, freezes etc.I found also the same here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVi62donWCw
I have latest macOS up to today and just installed Illustrator firstly on my MacBook Pro M1.

Hiding a layer doesn't hide the guides
Since the Update 27.5 of Illustrator CC all guides oaf any file are showing whether or not their parent layer is visible or not. In my Graphic template i have a base layer for guides of different target sizes, areas and columns which are organized on named layers for each type of guides to easily show/hide them.
since the the last update (27.5 AI on macOS) ALL guides are showing up whether or not the layer containing these guides is hidden or shown which results in showing all guides for 4, 5 and 6 column layouts as well as all text baseline-grid guides for different font sizes which makes the template unusable until I get rid of all layers I don't need at the moment but might need later!

Incorrect word count via script
At some point (I think v27) Illustrator has changed its word counting/division algorithm.
So, where previously the results were sensible:
"This.Was.Four.Words" — word count: 4
"This.Is.3.Words" — word count: 4
"I.WF05f.07.AB.000" — word count: 5
"I.WF05f.AB.07.000" — word count: 5In version 27.4 the results are now confused:
"This.Was.Four.Words" — word count: 1
"This.Is.3.Words" — word count: 3
"I.WF05f.07.AB.000" — word count: 4

Small objects don’t have corners widgets displayed.
Take a look at the test file with small 3 rectangles.
The largest one does have its widgets, but two smaller ones don’t.
Once you scale them up to 110%, the middle one now has them.
Another scaling up — all three now have them.Yes, these are very small, hardly larger than 1 pixel! But what a difference it makes for a user? None, really. Ai is capable to display all of them and allow tiny transformation, like this scaling up. Why does rounding some corners should be anything different?

Fill/Stroke automatically snaps back to previous setting
Whenever I make a change to fill or stroke (color or on/off) it automatically reverts to the previous setting as soon as you click back to the artboard. (ie: select shape, turn stroke off, stroke turns back on, hit cmd+z to undo the stroke turning back on. This has been happening over multiple versions.

Pantone colors are printing blank when printing from Illustrator using Photoshop DSC.EPS
While trying to print artwork with spot colors from Adobe Illustrator the color in the 2nd channel will always print blank regardless of what print device or setting that is used. I have included the DSC EPS files as well as the AI files and the subsequent print of the file as a pdf. Whichever pantone color is placed in location 2 of the channels in Photoshop will print blank. This is a bug that has popped up since Pantone pulled it's colors from Adobe and the Pantone colors automatically are changed to black.

Changing color via Hex doesn't count as an action, so save does not update file
When changing the color of a selected object, if you paste a hex number in to the color palette window and hit enter the object will change to the correct color. However, the program does not register this as an action/history change. So you can’t hit save and have the color change applied to the saved the file. This also is apparent in that it doesn’t become an “Undo Color” item under the Edit menu. Besides pasting a Hex color, I get the same bug if I type a Hex color in.
Any other form of changing the color of the object works as expected:
clicking a swatch
adjusting the RGB or CMYK sliders
using the RGB spectrum/eye dropper
using the eyedropper tool to select color from other objectAll of these items log and action as an undoable step, and therefore after the color change the file is seen as revised and therefore can be saved immediately after the Hex color adjustment.
Currently work around is to do and additional action after changing the color. For instance: copy/paste then delete the object selected in order to go through some history steps to get back to state of file after color change and then hit save.
To summarize steps to replicate:
Open existing file
Select object(s)
Adjust color fill by pasting or typing in a Hex color code, hit enter
Object(s) will adjust to new color
(at this point the application does not register under the edit menu that a new change has occurred)
Therefore, hitting keyboard shortcut to Save file has no action (Save is gray in menu)Thank you for taking a look at this.

7 votesThe latest Beta 29.4.0.37 now correctly treats a document as changed when a color code is paste into the HEX field in the Color panel with an object selected.

Wrong resolution calculation on pasting an image copied from Photoshop
Windows only it seems like.
1. Create a document in Photoshop, 100×100px, 72ppi
2. Copy the contents
3. Create a web/mobile-based document in Illustrator
4. Paste the copied imageIllustrator pastes 99.9875×99.9875px image.
It turns out Photoshop uses pixels-per-meter (biXPelsPerMeter and biYPelsPerMeter) to define the resolution.
72ppi is exactly 2834.6472 pixels per meter.
Unfortunately, the value must be an integer (thanks to BITMAPINFOHEADER), so the convention is to use 2835 (which is 0x0B13 in hexadecimal).But Illustrator is going by the letter of the law (not the spirit) and converting 2835 to 72.009 pixels per inch.
2835 / 2834.6472 × 72 = 72.0089611152
This is lame. If it sees incoming data spec'd as 2835 pixels/m, it should "know" that this is 72ppi.
What integration and collaboration can we talk about, when two main graphic whales of Adobe can’t find a common language to exchange data? What a shame.

Links panel showing wrong date created and date modified

MacBook Pro with M1 Max Chip

All placed links show a creation and modified date of Feb 6, 2040. This is every file I open. It doesn't matter if the link is stored locally or on a server. The dates of the file stored in the folder are correct, but the info in the links panel shows the wrong dates. All previous versions of Illustrator show the correct date. カラーコード入力で色を変えると戻れない

windows10 21h1カラーモードRGBでカラーパネルもRGBでの作業で、カラーコード(#と6桁)を打ち込んで色を変え、前の色に戻したいなとctrl+z(取り消し)を押すと挙動がおかしいです。
まったく戻らなかったり、カラーコードを打ち込む前の操作に戻ったりします。コミュニティに投稿し、再現されている方がいるのでバグだと思います。

Freeform Gradient Crashes Illustrator
If press V and I select seemingly any object in my drawing, press G to select gradient, and then I select Freeform Gradient, then Illustrator simply freezes forever until I force it to close. I'm able to select Linear and Radial gradient just fine. This only seems to happen with Freeform Gradient. I attached my file to this ticket. If you want a specific object to try, try the blue handle of the sword in the bottom right. But it seems to happen on any object.
I'm using Adobe Illustrator 26.0.3 64-bit.
My RAM is not overloaded, and I have a great CPU, so it does not seem performance related. I'm using 64-bit Windows 11 Home 21H2 22000.493. 32 GB RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.60 GHz.

Editing Adobe PDF Presets crashes Illustrator
When trying to edit a Adobe PDF Preset in Illustrator it crashes on hitting OK to save. I have tried deleting all preferences and uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator but no luck. For most things this would not be an issue since I can overwrite most setting by saving it in InDesign and overwriting with the same name (Why can't we do this in Illustrator?) This is happening on Illustrator version 26.0.3 on Mac OS 12.0.1 Intel iMac. I have added a quick screen grab. It doesn't matter what I try to edit.

テキストフレームでグローバルスウォッチの変更が適用されない。
OS/macOS10.13〜、Windows10 (20H2)
ver/25.4.4、26.0.3エリアテキストオブジェクトのパスにグローバールスウォッチを適用し、そのオブジェクトを複製した場合、描画がグローバルスウォッチの編集に追随しなくなる。
再現手順
1.エリアテキストを作成しテキストパスのみを選択して塗りにグローバルスウォッチを適用した上Command（ctrl）＋option（ALT）を押しながらドラッグし複製する。
2.選択を外した状態にし、適用したグローバルスウォッチをダブルクリックし編集に入る。
3.プレビューにチェックを入れた上でカラーを編集する。
4.コントロールバーやカラーパネルでの表示は変化するがテキストパスの塗りは変化しない。OKをクリックし編集を終了する。
5.スウォッチパネルなどの表示は正しく更新されるが1.のテキストバスの塗りは表示が変わらない。期待する結果
グローバルスウォッチを適用したテキストエリアオブジェクトのパスでも他のオブジェクトと同様にグローバルスウォッチの変更に表示を追随させる。現状の挙動
エリアテキストのパスに適用した塗りがグローバルスウォッチの変更に追随しない。対応策
一旦アウトライン表示に切り替えてからプレビュー表示を行うとグローバルスウォッチの値にて再描画される。この挙動を細かく見てみると複製したエリアテキストのパスに対する処理に問題がありそうです。１点だけだと再現しません。また、オブジェクト的にはカラー値は更新されていますので単純に再描画が行われていないように思われます。
