can´t use kerning between two characters
Hi,
I can´t use the "kerning between two letters" in the characters palette when working on my Imac with Cintiq plugged in. This part of the characters palette is set to "Auto". The pop up with "metrical" and "optical" is not showing up. I can kern between two characters manually but would like to set a whole word two optical. The bug disappears when I am plugging of my Cintiq and working with the mouse on my Imac. Horrible. Fix this.

Distorted Rotated text in an "Envelope"
Rotating text that is within an "Envelope" shape distorts the text. It shouldn't.

Illustrator Font problem :((
A client's custom font that shows up InDesign and Photoshop is not showing up in Illustrator?!?!?!?!? What is the problem??? And how can I fix this?????
I have Font Book and have never had a problem, now I am trying to reload, restart, test, etc to get the font to show up with no luck.
Any ideas?

AI CC2018 doesn't show certain font styles, while CC2017 does
I have ITC FrizQuadrata installed. This font family has 4 styles: normal, italic, bold and bold italic.
AI CC2017 does show all four.
CC2018 shows only one — 'ITC'.It doesn't show it when you type family name, it doesn't show other styles in drop-down style list.
If I copy/paste text with needed font family style from 2017 to 2018, AI will show me two identical font names but two different preview near them (and again no italics).2 votesPlease get in touch with us at sharewithai@adobe.com
Please create a sample file in CC 2017 with styles that you do not see in CC 2018. Create a package out of it so that we also get the font files for investigation and share the package with us. For sharing the package you can either upload to your creative cloud files or any other file sharing system like Dropbox, Wetransfer etc..Warm Regards,

character panel
Please allow this shortcut to work again - No longer able to drag mouse left or right over the text tools (font size, leading, tracking, etc.) to quickly adjust the value lower or higher. This is helpful when designing quickly vs. typing in the exact value or using the arrows to increase/decrease.
This is still possible in the Photoshop update - however, it is buggy and does not work correctly anymore.

Type on path issue
Illustrator 22.0.1 (64-bit)
When I move the beginning or ending tabs of the path after placing the text such as to center the text on a oval, once I move one or the other of the starting or ending placings, the lines to move them disappear. I am attaching a before and after picture to show you1 vote -
Text selection not showing highlighting after macOS High Sierra 10.13 download
When selecting any text, the text is not highlighted, thus removing my ability to know what I have selected. I am running a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. All was working well until I updated to macOS High Sierra 10.13. I have done all work arounds with no success.

Fonts Slow EVERYTHING Down
Fonts are the slowest feature in programs from MS Office to Adobe. This problem just caused me to lose work because AI shut down while trying to figure out how to manage a standard font with which I was working. Thanks for nothing AI and your simpleton font generators. You're fired.

Small Caps no longer working as it should
Illustrator 2017.1.0. Setting the Small Cap percentage no longer works for some fonts. They seem to have their own default setting that is unaffected by changing the percentage in the Document Setup window. In the attached example, Small Caps is set to 90%. In the first two font examples, you can see it's nowhere near that. If I change the setting, the bottom word will change but the top two remain the same. This is terrible!!
1 voteIllustrator uses real Small Capitals when a font has specialized glyphs for that, just like these two top fonts used in the test file.
When a font does not have true small caps, they get faked using the value from Document Setup.

Live font preview panel isn´t working
Hi to all.
I think that this is a old bug, but I already update AI to the latest version (CC 22.1) and the problema remains… This is really frustrated. Can you please, help?

CC font preview not working any more
When I start typing a font name in the character box I used to get the related font preview pop up , this no longer works at all and is very irritating

Text not refreshing when making changes to a text box. I turned off GPU performance and the problem persists.

Selected font in CC2018 doesn't stick
Problem when I opened a type sample page I made with Universal News with Commercial Pi, and almost all characters became the rectangle with X inside. I can select the block, then UNwCP and I can see the text changing as I select the face . . . but when I leave the Character pallet, the field blanks.
Also, if I select one character and type over it, the face becomes Minion. In the sample, see 8, 9, and zero.
Similarly, in InDesign, I can select a single character and then UNwCP, and the pallet changes to New Century Schoolbook…

Undo randomly groups texts
After hitting undo a few times will cause a random text to be selected and cannot be unselected. I don't know which text has been selected either. Only way to find out is to direct select each text and try to edit them. That's the only way to exit out of the selection as well. I've found this problem over and over again.

Font problem
every time I try to type something on a clean sheet my letters ( no matter what font I use) look like someone cut through them. Can you help and tell me why is this happening?

Illustrator not recognizing Arial font after setting up new computer
HI All, Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, but this is my first post. I recently set up a new work computer (MacBook pro, High Sierra 10.13.6 ) to replace my older computer. I have typically made PDF's in illustrator using Arial font, but now when I open these older PDF's the text id highlighted as when the font is not recognized . as well if I import Arial text from excel it pastes it as symbols.

the font style file has not been installed
Just recently purchased CC 2018. Although I have been using Illustrator since 1998, this is the first time I have worked with CC. And I'm having issues with the Type in Illustrator - it seems the font style file has not been installed [???] - for example with the Font Myriad Pro - there should be an option of regular, regular italic, bold, bold italic, etc - I can only get regular.
This issue HAS to be resolved or there is no point in continuing to use CC 2018. Please let me know what I need to do - does…
