  1. No longer possible to assign keyboard shortcuts to the CHANGE CASE commands

    Why is it no longer possible to assign keyboard shortcuts to the CHANGE CASE functions in the latest version of Illustrator? I am attaching an image of the text menu under 'Change Case' showing remnants of the old assigned shortcuts (I have been using the same shortcuts for many versions of Illustrator now, as well as in InDesign, where they are still active even in the latest version). /

  2. Illustrator 30.3 Font Handling Issue

    The new 30.3 update for Mac introduced "improved font handling in Illustrator (macOS) for better consistency and reduced reliance on unsupported system resources"

    However, this seems to have broken auto font activation with the Typeface font manager.

    Is there a way to get this fixed?

  3. Font changes from the current one to the previously used while typing

    I'm working on a document in which I used Avenir font, but for the most I use Myriad Pro. When I click with the Type tool I see in the character box I'm with the default font (Myriad Pro) and start typing. Then noticed I'm now in Avenir font!
    This bug is brand new with the latest update (29.1), I didn't add any issue of that type before.
    I'm on Windows 11 PC Core i7-13700 32 Go of RAM

  4. Text changes colour at random

    A file appears correct in Illustrator 2026 and correctly produces a PDF (save a copy) when the original Illustrator file is still open. Yet when the Illustrator file is then saved, closed and then reopened, the Illustrator file has errors with the colour of text changing at random. This is happening on multiple computers running MacOS (Silicon). This error only happens in Illustrator 2026 and not 2025.

  6. Fonts changing in files when opened in Illustrator 29.5.1

    Existing files created in illustrator (on a different desktop) when opened in v29.5 & v29.5.1 display incorrect fonts - the font is changed to a completely different font (e.g. Myriad Pro will be changed to Times New Roman) throughout the document. All the text in that font family is changed, but other fonts used in the document will display correctly. The font is installed correctly on the system and the changed font can be changed to the correct font by selecting the font from the illustrator font list. The thumbnails display correctly in Bridge before opening in illustrator. Reverting illustrator…

  7. Space characters differ in Illustrator and InDesign

    OS: MacOS 15.7.7 (24G720)
    Illustrator-Version: 30.6
    Illustrator offers the space characters Quarter, Half-quarter, Twenty-fourth, Eighth.
    Using these space characters in Adobe Illustrator leads to completely different results (spacing) than in Adobe InDesign.
    Is this a program error or a font error?
    I would also like to see the space characters menu expanded to include the Sixth, Eighth, Quarter, Third.

  8. Revert text on paths back to how it used to be

    Fitting text to paths used to be a simple process whereby you could easily create a path from a shape, by slicing the object and creating an open ended path, (or draw one), selecting Text to path from the pull out menu on the text tool, typing and arranging text on the path and being able to adjust whether it was to appear on the top or bottom of the path, just by dragging the centre line. (All without having to go to multiple other menus/instruction boxes). I would suggest it wasn't broken, so why was it 'fixed'?

  9. Hidden Characters remain visible when exporting in PNG

    Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2

    I work with Hidden Characters on, and when I export a PNG (export for Screens), they remain visible. Hidden Characters aren't supposed to remain visible after a PNG export. The only way that I could resolve the issue is to turn them off. But when I try to disable hidden characters, it looks like they are already off (even though I can still see them), and I have to turn them on, then off again, to make sure they are completely disabled.

  10. Em dash incorrectly rotates upright in vertical text layout

    Illustrator 2025 (29.8.1) (29.8.2) Japanese

    Em dashes are Latin characters, so in vertical text layout they should be rotated sideways like other alphanumeric characters.
    However, in v29.8.2, Em dashes are rotated upright like Japanese characters. This is clearly a bug.

    EMダッシュは欧文の文字なので、縦組みでは他の英数字を同じく横倒しになります。
    しかし、v29.8.2では、和文の文字のように正立回転してしまいます。これは明らかにバグです。

  11. New fonts don't load upon installation

    Somehow, the new Adobe Illustrator updates prevent manually installed fonts from loading. These are fonts that aren't available in Adobe Fonts. So I have to install them manually. Because of this, I have to restart Illustrator so I can use the font. There's no problem when activating fonts on Adobe Fonts. Is there a workaround for this?

  13. Object Selection and Text Editing Issues in Illustrator 2026

    Operating system and Adobe Illustrator desktop version:

    Steps to reproduce:

    Open a file in Adobe Illustrator 2026.
    Try to select an object using the Selection Tool.
    Try to select and edit a text object, including changing the font or text content.

    Expected result:
    Objects should be selected smoothly and accurately.
    The selection cursor/arrow should remain stable.
    Text objects and fonts should be selectable so that the text can be edited normally.

    Actual result:
    Objects cannot be selected or grabbed reliably.
    The selection cursor/arrow does not behave consistently.

  14. Area Type text disappears after editing in Illustrator 30.6 (macOS), Composer recomposition causes inconsistent rendering

    [Environment]
    •Application: Adobe Illustrator 30.6
    •Platform: macOS
    •Language: Korean UI
    •Text Type: Area Type
    •Composer: Japanese Composer
    •Language Options: East Asian Options enabled

    [Summary]
    While editing an Area Type text frame, several characters near the end of the text were modified. Immediately afterward, a portion of the text disappeared.
    The text itself still exists and is selectable, but is no longer rendered correctly.
    The issue is also reproduced in exported PDF files.
    Creating outlines renders all missing text correctly.
    Changing the Composer temporarily restores the missing text, but introduces different layout corruption (first-line indentation becomes incorrect).

  15. Viewport doesn’t get adjusted when I start editing text outside of it, like it used to do

    Previously (like is shown in one of 2 GIFs attached, recorded in CS4), when I had my insertion point outside of the currently visible viewport, making any change into a text (or even pressing an arrow key to navigate it) would have the viewport adjusted to have the cursor in it.
    Now it just won’t happen.
    When we aren’t careful with noticing the current mod (text editing VS normal one) can hit hotkeys, hoping to switch the tool, and actually type some garbage (like it’s shown in the second GIF).

    Make it pan to the cursor, like it used to…

    Illustrator2025以降のバージョンで、入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまいます。
    テキストを入力→保存→ファイルを閉じる→開き直す　と入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまうことがあり、入力し直しになります。
    テキストをを平打ちした時とエリア内テキスト両方で同じ症状が起きています。
    Illustrator2024ではそのようなことはありませんでした。

  17. Threaded Type not scaling correctly

    Mac Pro (2019, Intel), MacOS 15.6.1, Illustrator 29.7.1

    After the update to version 29.7.1, the text in linked type objects does not scale (using the Scale tool) or scales disproportionately (using the Selection tool).

    The Free Transform Tool currently appears to be the only way to scale these objects together while keeping the type size proportional to the objects being scaled.

    The issue occurs in new and existing documents.

  18. Editable Type isn't scaling correctly, even at 10% scale

    I am creating a sign in 1-1 scale. When scaling down to fit on a proof page. the Type isn't scaling down correctly.
    The image shows an outline text overlayed on top of the editable text, then selecting all and scaling down to 10%.
    You can see how the live text is not the same as the outline text.
    Never had this issue until the recent update (30.6)

  19. Font drop down list won't allow font selection.

    Mac Studio
    Sequoia 15.6.1
    Adobe Illustrator 2026 version 30

    My font drop-down list allows me to preview fonts, but not select them. If I preview and click a new font to select it, the type window closes and my select text reverts to the original font. I've tried using the text tool and the selection tool - same problem. To change a font, I must type the ENTIRE NAME in the font window and hit return. Very time consuming. :(

  20. Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.

    macOS Tahoe 26.2
    Adobe Illustrator (Desktop version) 30.2.1

    Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.
    This occurs even when "Enable missing glyph protection" is initially set to OFF and no other settings are changed.

    This does not occur in macOS Vetura13.7.8
