1. Discover panel’s videos don’t have Full Screen button

   OK, I am a new user and want to use Discover to make some learning.
   Illustrator shows me the video of steps I need to perform.
   How on Earth am I going to view these that small, if I am not familiar with the UI? What good do they make being shrunk like this?

   Also, when you try to see maybe the cog button has something useful, the video covers the menu. Just great.

   And even if you find the 'Read article in a browser' link, it’s somewhere deep below, and you have to scroll all the way down.
   Good job helping new users.

2. Properties panel shows "no selection" when object is selected

   I'm using Illustrator version 27.1.1 on windows 10 64 bit.
   When selecting and object, the Properties panel shows "no selection" and some crucial features (like the reflecting buttons) are missing.

   I'm attaching a screenshot, where you can see that there is an object selected, but it doesn't appear as such in the Properties panel.

3. Artboard duplication messes up masks

   Masks linked, all objects unlocked, drag to copy artboard and content leaves mask messed up on OLD/ORIGINAL artboard. Please fix.

4. "NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" APPEARANCE panel options NOT working for BRUSH

   On the desktop version of Illustrator.....

   When you use the pencil tool with 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" set in the APPEARANCE panel options, any subsequent/new pencil art has a basic appearance as it is supposed to.

   When you use the pencil tool with 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" NOT set in the APPEARANCE panel options, any subsequent/new pencil art has the same appearance as the last made pencil stroke as it is supposed to.

   THESE TWO 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" SETTINGS in the APPEARANCE panel options unfortunately DO NOT WORK this way when using the Brush tool.

   The Brush tool ALWAYS reverts back to the previously drawn brush stroke settings REGARDLESS of the 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" settings in the APPEARANCE panel options.

   (On the ipad version of Illustrator none of these APPEARANCE settings/options are even available, where EVERY stroke simply reverts to BASIC APPEARANCE, which is annoying in the other direction!)

   On the desktop version of Illustrator.....

5. PLEASE FIX THE BUG THAT KEEPS FREEZING AND CRASHING THE APP WITHOUT SAVING

   I have an HP Pavilion using the latest version of Adobe illustrator and ever since the update it has been constantly crashing without saving and when it finally works, certain items have disappeared but by time I am halfway done fixing it and crashes again losing all progress.

6. Loading an external swatch library file freezes the app every time.

   Loading a external swatch library freeze the app every time. Loading swatches from a file does not.
   The freeze replicated by different swatch library files. Both my swatch library files .ase and files are offline. My frozen work file is in Creative Cloud.

7. On Opening, Illustrator can't read linked files and adds multiple copies of linked images

   On some files, on open, I receive an error regarding linked images and when trying to resolve, Illustrator adds multiple copies of the same linked image without actually fixing the original images. It'll add linked images into locked layers where there were no images.

   This started in version 26.4.1 and have tested with uninstalling newer versions, opening the same files on older versions, and installing newer versions until the issue appears.

   Screenshots attached where it shows it adding in linked images, even on layers that were locked and had no images on save.

8. Some shortcuts don't work while using non-English keyboard / language layout

   After upgrading to AI 26.0 (and still not fixed in 26.0.1) some shortcuts stopped working, like those:
   - Show/hide layers = cmd + ;
   - Lock selection = cmd + 2

   It seems that all shortcuts with czech letters on the keyboard instead of US are affected. To be clear:
   - On us keyboard there is ";" key, but on the Czech keyboard, there is "ů" letter.
   - The same for the letter "2" on US, on the Czech keyboard, there is "ě" letter.

   Possible fix: to keep logic as before, when everything worked, you have to work with hardware codes of keys instead of language translated.

   I can confirm, that now to show/hide guides I have to push three keys: cmd + option + ; to activate the shortcut, so it's definitively affected by locale translation of the current keyboard map. Please, fix it and keep shortcuts work the same as for the last 20 years :)

9. 와콤타블렛 PTH 660 연결시 일러스트레이터 다운 후 복구창으로

   와콤타블렛 PTH-660을 연결(블루투스나 USB연결 모두)하여 일러스트레이터를 사용시 어느정도 시간이 지나면 자동으로 일러스트레이터가 종료되고 다시 일러스트레이터를 실행시키면 복구할 파일을 복구하라는 팝업창이 뜬채로 실행됨. 한두번이 아니고 계속적으로 발생하기에 타블렛을 사용할 수가 없을 정도임. 충돌 문제 검토 부탁드립니다.
   일러스트레이터 최신업데이트 버전이며, 폰트관련 부분도 체크가 완료되었고, 아울러 초기화도 여러번 해봤으나 해당 증상은 계속되고 있습니다.

10. Color mode changing issue (Grayscale mode)

    Hi,

    We are using Adobe Illustrator CS6 & CC22, for image color conversion.

    Input: Figures in RGB mode & color RGB
    Output: Figures in CMYK mode & color Grayscale

    Manual Process:
    When we change color mode manually by following below step, then no issues color mode was changed successfully:

    Step 1:Select Image.
    Step 2:Go to File Menu -> In Document Color Mode Select RGB Color.
    Step 3:Go to Edit Menu -> Edit Colors Select Convert to GrayScale.
    Step 4:Go to File Menu -> In Document Color Mode Select CMYK Color.

    Now our output images will be in CMYK mode & color Grayscale.

    Automation process:
    When we change color mode for batch of figures through Javascript using the below code, color mode was not changed:

    Now our output images are RGB mode & color Grayscale. The issue was RGB mode instead of CMYK so the image looks darker.

11. Missing lines when import svg/pdf file to illustrator

    Many lines were missing when I tried to open the pdf file in Illustrator. Before I imported the file generated from Qgis, I released the clipping files and broke apart the paths in the Inkscape. I also tried the "place" tool instead of opening directly, but it didn't work when I embedded the linked files.

    Can anyone help?

12. Auto Spell Check marks capitalization mistakes when type is set to ALL CAPS.

    With auto spell check enabled, capitalization is still marked if the type is set to "ALL CAPS" in the the character panel's options. when using all caps, the capitalization of the underlying text should not matter, only what is displayed which is all-caps.

13. Paragraph copy converts to individual letters, or small small groups of letters

    I have noticed this issue with some increasing frequency: where paragraphs of copy suddenly appear as individual letters or small groupings. These letters all appear on their own layer. I am unable to grab all the text, or modify an entire word. Thankfully, I save rounds of files, or work by copy and pasting , so I'm generally able to grab copy from an older version, but this is maddening to say the least. I work as a packaging designer and it's crucial that copy remain editable. I have attached an image of the copy selected and highlighted little pink circles where the breaks are occurring "Dismantled Paragraph" , as well as a file from a previous iteration that was copied and pasted from "Whole Paragraph" -which is whole and unaffected, as well as a screenshot of the individual layers.     I'm not sure what's causing this. I'm on a Mac 2019 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, running Monterrey 12.6. I use MS Teams for file storage.

14. Unit increments are not correct

    I set my keyboard increments at 0,1 mm so when I click on an object I can move it by that amount, or when I use the shift-key it moves with 1 mm. However, it moves with 1 pt increments. Very annoying.

    The issue got resolved with a fresh installation.

    In case the same happens to you — please check all the snapping options in the View menu, especially Snap to Pixel, and the Keyboard Increment value in Preferences > General.

15. Can't Export to DWG

    You used to be able to export your file as a DWG, but in the 2023 update you no longer can. Why? If you opena DWG you can still save it, but if you open a fresh document you can't export to DWG like normal. CAD and illustrator crossover is extremely common and important to have and this needs fixed ASAP.

16. Alt+Drag Duplicate is not working correctly

    When you use ALT and Drag to duplicate Objects, the duplicating is canceled if you release the ALT-key before you release the Mouse Button.

    Also, if you release the Alt, but don't move the mouse, the original one will be still visible, but it will disappear after you release the mouse button (or move the mouse). So, the Illustrator leads you to assume that the Object will be duplicated, but it actually wont. See the attached GIF.

    In every other App that has the same functionality that I have used the duplicating will continue even if I release the Alt key. You alt drag something, you create a duplicate, you release the alt key, duplicate stays.

    The way Illustrator does it leads to a lot of errors. Often I end up in situation where I thought I duplicated something, but I actually didn't. Frequently, I edit the “duplicated” object, only to find out later that I didn't actually duplicate the original one, but loosed it. Then I have to recreate it, as I have edited the duplicate one and don't have the original any more.

    This error in basic functionality of Illustrator has cost me probably hours of extra work.

17. Text center alignment off

    I'm on the most up-to-date version of Illustrator (26.5). Whenever I try to center text within a box, the x and y coordinates are slightly off for the text. For example, say my box is at 100.5 px on the x-axis and 100.5 px on the y-axis. When I center the text over the box (using Align Objects tool), the text box coordinates are 100.6904 px, 101.2729 px. Before I updated Illustrator, the text coordinates would always match the box coordinates. Even though the numbers are only off slightly, it is visibly noticeable that the text isn't perfectly aligned.

18. Persistent Save to cloud dialogue

    I don't want to save to Cloud, but with the 27.2 update I get this dialogue every time I create a new file and then hit 'save' or 'save as'. I clicked 'don't show again' but this option appears in the second dialogue box, not the first, so now I get the 'save to creative cloud' dialogue every time and have to click on 'on your computer' and then wait a few seconds for the 'save as' dialogue.

20. Illustrator don't work after Mac OS update

    I'm using mac mini m1 with the latest Ai CC update (26.4.1). But after the OS update (12.5.1) I can't get Ai to work, it stuck at startup screen, cant click to any menu or button (video included). I had to roll back to 25.1 (intel) version to continue my works. What should I do?
