1. Not constraining to 91 degrees & 136 degrees instead of 90 degrees & 135 degrees with shift

   Even with constrain angle at 0 degrees & smart guides at 45 & 90 degree angles & turning all snapping options off:
   holding down shift when rotating while drawing with line segment tool shows live angle snapping at 0, 45, then 91 & 136, then back to 180, 225, 270, 315, then 0 again.
   When I release at what it says to be 91 or 136 degrees by my mouse -> I check the rotate properties in the right panel & the angles are correct at 90 & 135 degrees where they snapped.
   So it's just displaying the wrong snapping angle hovering over the mouse.
   Please fix this.

2. OS updates make Illustrator to get reinstalled

   Everytime I get an update to Windows or Adobe, my Illustrator asks to be RE-INSTALLED. What the **** is wrong with Adobe? Why can't you fix the ******* recognition of software your PAYING customers already have, so that we don't have to go through this hide-and-seek ******** EVERY ******* TIME? You get paid well, maybe do your jobs BETTER.

3. Saving as PDF loses all artwork outside of artboard - THIS HAS TO BE FIXED

   For 15 years I have never had an issue saving files as PDFs. I have always used the save as Smallest File Size PDF option, I do a lot of large format printing so this is necessary in order to rip files in a timely manner to the printer. Now when I save a pdf all my artwork that's outside the artboard disappears, hours upon hours of artwork just gone, no warning. Its bad enough there is no longer a way to purchase the software so having to pay monthly and the constant terrible updates are ruining me and my business. Please fix this back to way it used to be. My artwork outside the artboard should not disappear.

4. L'Importation ne fonctionne pas correctement depuis la mise a jour a illustrator 2025

   Bonjour, Depuis le passage a illustrator 29.5 la fonctionne d'importation depuis le menu Fichier ne fonctionne pas correctement : un grand cadre apparait apres validation de l'importation mais l'objet importé n'apparait pas !!!

   Seule solution : faire un drag and drop depuis l'explorateur !! Une catastrophe !

   Merci de la résolution rapide de ce problème critique.

5. I can't delete or merge swatches.

   I have 4 separate issues, all stemming from the swatches panel:
   1. I can't select a range of swatches and delete them. I have to select them individually and then delete them. Huge waste of time.
   2. Sometimes when I delete a swatch, the thumbnail remains in the panel but changes to the red slash for "no color." I now have multiples of these in my swatches panel (see attachment).
   3. Merge swatches simply doesn't work, even if they are both global swatches that I've generated.
   4. Using the command "select all unused," and then trying to delete the batch, doesn't work regardless of whether I click the trash symbol or use the flyout menu.

   These issues are making it maddening to set up production artwork for a client because I obviously want to limit the colors in the swatch panel to the colors that are used in the document.

   It's like Illustrator is "remembering" colors that were active in previous versions of the file, and is preventing those global swatches from being deleted or merged even if there is currently no artwork with the swatch applied (I triple checked).

   One experiment I've tried is to save a new version of the file, delete all the artwork except for one shape with pure black and one shape with pure white. If I then try the "select all unused" and delete, it deletes most of the swatches, but keeps the ones with the red slash (see attachment).

   As always, I feel compelled to ask, why are we the users forced to pay a premium for design software that is full of persistent bugs?

   I'm on Illustrator 29.6.1 on an iMac running OS 13.7.6.

6. Font switches to default and back while navigating string with arrows

   It's a bit hard to explain in words, so please watch the screencast I recorded. To put it simply: if a text block has a font other than the default (Myriad), and you want to navigate the text using the arrow keys, each time you click the button, the font in the panels changes to the default font and then back. The new letters have the correct font, although this does impact performance, especially for large texts.

7. Transform Each records angles for gradients in a way Eyedropper cannot pick them

   Take a look at the test file attached and the GIF with the steps.
   1. All gradients have zero angle
   2. Select All and call Transform Each dialog
   3. Set an angle (I chose45°) and disable Transform Objects — this should rotate only the fill, not the paths. Apply.
   4. Check the angles with the Gradient panel, the values is displayed as correct.
   5. Create a new rectangle and set its appearance to the default one with D hotkey
   6. Pick the Eyedropper toll and make sure both Appearance options are enabled in its options (otherwise it shouldn’t work at all: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/37272676)
   7. Pick the fill from a rectangle with the rotated fill.
   8. The angle is not picked.

   The problem seems to be similar to the one that happens with any script that tries to deal with rotated gradients... Script can read the parameter, but can’t write it. The common rotation method is used, and it gets written as a transformation matrix, I presume, and it is more generalized than just rotation, it can be anything likes skewing.
   And Ai can’t automatically convert a simple one into the rotation.

   Please address both issues.

   Take a look at the test file attached and the GIF with the steps.

8. Blob Brush strokes often include garbage on turns

   What is wrong with Blob Brush. Even with simplest strokes I often get groups, and these have the main part and tiny pieces of garbage next to it in them.
   Sometimes these are thinnest slivers, sometimes knotted madness, sometimes chunks chomped off...
   If I run simple Pathfinder Add, some of this get 'healed'. Why don’t you do at least this? Why these awfully angular turns and garbled edges happen in the first place? Please study the file.

9. Using Pencil Tool results in error

   Unfortunately, the pencil tool still doesn't work for me. I received this unknown error, which I've attached a photo of. The only workaround that I've been able to use is by using a 3rd party plug-in (Astute Graphics Sketch Tool) to use instead of the pencil tool. I don't understand why this bug has been so difficult to fix

10. Major Bug: Illustrator "undo"s randomly the last step (transform, move and copy using "alt")

    Adobe Illustrator does randomly revert the last transformation. Sometimes it reverts movement, sometimes scaling, sometimes copy and moving using "alt".
    This bug makes impossible to work with it.

11. Missing fonts warning when no fonts are missing

    Every time I open any illustrator document, the missing fonts box shows up telling me all of the fonts are missing, but when I click replace fonts, they don't show as missing any more and there's no issue. This is a really annoying bug.

12. "Could not complete Package" after Tahoe upgrade

    After upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26.0, Illustrator (latest version) is unable to Package a file that has links located on a network drive.

13. Document’s dimensions are 10 times larger when printing

    Illustrator calculates dimensions incorrectly.
    The problem is when printing from Illustrator.

    There is no problem saving the file and placing it in ONYX.

15. New file window always in fullscreen instead of previous window size

    In the past, Illustrator opened a new file to the size and position of the previous window. Now it ALWAYS goes to full screen, and I then ALWAYS have to size it back down to how I want it. this is a new and unwanted behavior, so please fix it. Thanks.

17. Shift+Dragging an Object doesn’t constrain it

    Dear Adobe, if I wanted to nudge an object across the screen with the arrow keys to retain it's current horizontal/vertical alignment I would be designing everything in Microsoft applications. Please, PLEASE, PLEEEEEEAAAAAASE fix the Shift+Drag position constraint, it hasn't worked for over a year, and I'm losing my mind.

18. Sudden and constant "Out of GPU memory" error, Ai 29.4

    I am suddenly getting constant "Out of GPU memory" errors, which renders all the graphics in "Outline" view, and crashes Illustrator. It just started occurring today (Wednesday April 23, 2025). Yesterday everything was fine.
    
    Mac Studio, M2 Max, 64 GB RAM, Sonoma. Ai 29.4

    My CS6 version of Illustrator at home on an old Mac, runs so much better than anything coming out of Adobe ever since this Creative Cloud debacle disaster!

19. File with links to the same filename, when folder is moved, tries to open itself

    Suppose a file X have links to file Y with the same name but in other folder. If you move the original file so Illustrator can't find Y, it then tries to open the filename in its own folder and find the file itself (X). Multiple links cause the message "the file is already opened"
