1. Copying text inside a symbol group copies all text in that symbol to the clipboard

   When I copy selected text inside a symbol it copies ALL the text in that symbol. It doesn't matter if the text is in the same instance or in a completely different one. If it is text and inside the symbol it will get copied. When I then paste the text that I think I copied it pastes everything.

2. flickering black rectangle

   when I move the cursor a black rectangle appears flickering alongside it. Its very confusing and off-putting. this happens with most but not all tools.
   Is this something simple that i don't know about or is this something wrong? I have tried closing Illustrator and re-opening but it is still happening. not noticed it before.

4. There is not enough memory available to process the appearance of an object

   MAC OS High Sierra Version 10.13.6
   Processor 3.2Ghz Intel Core i5
   Memory 8GB
   Graphics AMD Redeon R9 M380 2048MB

   Illustrator is CC 2019 23.0.1

   When trying to work on an image, my colleague is constantly getting the above message and the application hangs.
   Could you advise if there is a fix for this?

5. Ctrl+arrows in Package dialogue

   Ctrl+arrows stop at underscores in Save-Export-other 'system' dialogues, but don't in native dialogues. We heavy rely on underscores in our naming convention, so please make it work as it should be.

6. Mesh objects don't get selected when only edge is marqueed

   All paths in AI get selected when you draw a marque over their edge (with no points inside selection). Segment got selected. It is fine.

   But mesh objects are immune to edge marqueing, because there is no 'segment' thing for a mesh. WHY? Why don't you make the same thing as it's done for paths? Just select seam between mesh points and allow to move both points adjacent when seam is 'selected'.

   I put this into Bugs, because I consider this a bug rather than request. Like 'Selecting segments in mesh is broken all these years since introduction and everybody just silent about it'.

7. Changing default units reverts back from/to inches to/from points on relaunch / restart

   I can't change the default units. When I change the unit in General from inches to Point. Illustrator reverts it back to the inches again when I restart the illustrator. This is super annoying. Please don't need to upgrade the feature of illustrator just fix the existing ones and give us a bug-free application.

8. Both Basic and Advanced toolbars are displayed at once

   Suddenly I have two toolbars?
   I have no clue what might have let to this. Photoshop and InDesign are open too.

9. Memory overload

   Illustrator is chewing up every mb of memory of my computer until it then crashes. nothing else is open on my computer. no files are open with illustrator itself. yet its memory usage grows from 0-40gb then the program crashes due to lack of memory. ive clicked the repair bug button it pops up with. ive un installed and re in stalled. creative cloud did some update and install. ive turned my computer off and on. nothing fixes it.

10. With multiple projects open, can only view one tab

    In new AI2019, if I have multiple tabs open, only the tab originally opened is usable unless I open the other tabs in a new window.

    Thanks for reporting the issue. I tried reproducing this on my computer but couldn’t reach to your conclusion. Can you please share the steps and a screen shot if possible with us. Is this happening every time or in some specific scenario. Also please let me know on which OS are you working.

11. On applying tracking via Properties panel, Illustrator issues like Tracking of complete paragraph changes, Bounding Box gets invisible

    This has been reported on a number of other posts, but seems to keep being reposted as new entries, rather than upvoted.

    Since CC2018 the ability to adjust tracking in Illustrator has been broken. This appeared to begin with the introduction of the Properties Panel in CC2018, but the issues extend to the 'normal/traditional' Character Panel as well.

    When adjusting tracking on a single letter or group of letters, the program will glitch and the adjustment value shown in the panel will not reflect the value being incremented. Moreover, deselecting and reselecting the type will show randomly different values - sometimes the value applied to one character will be reported as applied to an entire word/paragraph, sometime the program will change the default value across the entire application. It is no longer possible to adjust tracking, and a restart of the application is the only recourse, however the problem repeats - after making a few more tracking adjustments it glitches again in the same way and can no longer be used.

    This has also been accompanied by selection bounding boxes disappearing across the program - again restarting is the only way to correct - and most problematic of all: upon saving, the file will often suddenly revert to an earlier state, completely losing all changes made.

    This problem has been exhibited in exactly the same manner across multiple systems, running different OS versions and using different Adobe CC accounts. The problem has been occurring since at least CC2018, and is still occurring in the recent CC2019 (or whatever it's called) update. Currently it is impossible to use Illustrator for any kind of typographic work.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

12. Why did you add a stroke to the Layer Thumbnail of empty layers?

    In previous versions of Illustrator, if you deleted all the content of a layer or sublayer, you could immediately see that it was empty because its thumbnail in the Layers palette lost its stroke. Now all layer thumbnails have a border regardless. This was a very useful feature, and I can't imagine why it would deliberately be removed. Can you please add it back?

13. Error: "Unable to export at this resolution" for jpeg at 300ppi

    For larger artboards (6500 square), I'm trying to export them at 300ppi jpegs for print (as requested by the printer). Every time I try to export at 300ppi, I get the message "unable to export at this resolution, please lower the resolution and try again."

    I've been informed of the Photoshop workaround, but we should be able to save vector files especially out as high res jpeg's straight from Illustrator!

14. 2019 v23.0.4 running VERY Slow and doesn't function correctly

    I am not sure what happened, but in the past week v23 has gone horribly wrong. I am not sure when exactly my computer updated to v23.0.4, but I'm sure that was the start to the problems.

    When you first start the application, it seems to work just like it should, but then you give it a minute or load any sort of file, and it slows WAY down.
    Even creating simple boxes on an artboard will cause it happen. If you drag and size a box, it may actually do that, or it will decided to ask you the size (just like you clicked).
    If you try and duplicate anything it may or may not actually duplicate anything or it will just move it. ETC.. Uploading a quick video to show you some of the problem.
    If you open a file it may take a 2 minutes to do anything.

    My computer is iMac Pro, 3.2 GHz, 32GB Ram.. So that is not the problem.

    I have reinstalled the OS, reset the SMC, and NVRAM & PRAM, completely removed AI 2019 and reinstalled and nothing has changed.

    Need help, because doing ANY work in this new version takes forever and I have a lot of things I need to do!!!

15. Text always shows as black

    Sometimes, when I apply color to a text box (using the swatches or the eyedropper) the color shown on screen is black even though in the Appearance panel the Fill is the one I applied.

    Hi,

    The attached screenshot displays the FILL color underneath the CHARACTERS in the APPEARANCE panel therefore any change applied to the FILL will not be displayed, to display it correctly please move the FILL color row on top of the CHARACTER row (Click & Drag) in the Appearance panel.

    Hope this helps to resolve this issue.

16. Tool Options Palettes Absent On Launch

    The tool options palettes (those you select from the Window menu) are occasionally absent on launch. Not every time. Not even most times. It seems to occur in waves; sometimes more frequent, sometimes less frequent. Lately, it's been a near daily occurrence.

    Choosing the palettes in the Window menu when this happens does nothing.

    I have the palettes grouped in a single column, but it seems to make no difference whether they're grouped or spread out. Likewise it makes no difference if they're on my primary or secondary monitor.

    Currently installed version: 23.0.3
    I have CC set to auto update. This bug has been in several versions of AI - I don't recall which version I first noticed it in because restarting Illustrator eventually resolves it (until it happens again), so it's not a HUGE issue and I've simply dealt with it for a long time (probably years, but months at minimum).

19. PNG export broken

    I receive an error every time I try to export a PNG from any file. Other export formats work without a problem.

    Working on a Macbook Pro with MacOS Mojave running the latest version of Illustrator (updated this morning).

20. Opening and previewing files

    After launch, Illustrator appears to mix documents/archives. For instance, I have an .ai and a .jpg file. Each one's preview appears switched. When opened, both show the same object.

    Illustrator also shows an erros doing undo, often skipping several steps and reseting the document close to its previously saved/original version.
