  1. Pasting non-English text from Word

    v. 22.0.0
    iMac 2017 High Sierra

    Pasting some Russian or Chinese text from Word, in my case, and then trying to change the font, collapses the font samples popup menu so I am unable to do it.

    I figured it was some formatting the text had from the word file because the same scenario but with unformatted text from TextEdit app, didn't trigger the bug.

    Still it is very frustrating having to copy my texts to TextEdit first!

  2. Stop Button not Working

    If I open something but I changed my mind, I see there's a stop button while it's loading, but I can click on that stop button all I want, it doesn't want to stop. What's the point of having a stop button then?

  3. Illustrator shows spinning circle - tried everything

    I can use the mouse, but the cursor has a spinning wheel even outside Illustrator, and the menus don't work. I've been through checklists about install/reinstall, remove user preference folder, in Illustrator as in other products, I've tried moving all the fonts I could from the fonts folder. I've rebooted multiple times. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator. After doing all this, I get error messages such as "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (SExi)", "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (CANT)".   4. Export Artboards "Name" Error

    I exported first one Artboard of 2 or 3 in the beginnning of a design process, the changed the names in the end of all 3 artboards to the projectname. The first artboard still kept the original name ("artboard 01" or else) so i had to rename by hand this file. Pretty weird.

  5. No DPI resolution in export file when export for screens

    When export I use export for screen, there is no DPI resolution in the exported files.

    Illustrator 21.1.0 - macOS
    1. Create a new document
    2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
    3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
    4. Export it for screens
    5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
    6. Save / Export the files
    7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop
    8. You can see that the images doesn't contain any DPI information

  6. UI Not Scaling Down

    After updating to the 2018 version of Illustrator, I found that the UI wasn't scaling to the proper resolution. I expected it to be proper & have smaller buttons & such. In reality, all of the tools & toolbars are bloated like it's scaled to 200%.

  7. Link location mistaken for other document's link location

    When opening a specific document, links are found missing.

    When I open the document nevertheless, click on a link and check the location, the path it shows is one that was used in a previously opened, unrelated document.

    When my colleague opens the document on her computer, everything is fine.

  9. Embed Doesn't Show Up in New Properties Panel

    The Embed option appears in the new Properties panel when a Linked object is selected, but doesn't appear when multiple Linked objects are selected.

  10. Dysfunction rendering CPU and GPU AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 Go (iMac)

    Hello,

    When GPU rendering is enable, the colors rendering are not the good one.
    When CPU rendering is enable, scrolling are very very slow, and the colors rendering are not good too, but more good than with GPU rendering.

    This bug has arisen by MacOS Sierra to MacOS Hight Sierra update.
    Before this update, everything worked perfectly.

    I called Apple Care Hotline.
    they could do nothing to assist him.

    I have an iMac i7 4 Ghz with AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 Go (iMac), 40 Go RAM.
    I’m on Creative cloud, and all my adobe softwares are updated.

  11. Type on path issue

    Illustrator 22.0.1 (64-bit)
    When I move the beginning or ending tabs of the path after placing the text such as to center the text on a oval, once I move one or the other of the starting or ending placings, the lines to move them disappear. I am attaching a before and after picture to show you

    All the guides like intercepts and centre are disappeared. I have reset more than once, but nothing changed.

  13. Cmd-Shift-A selects all artboards

    Cmd-Shift-A usually deselects all. But while the Artboard tool is selected, the same shortcut selects all… the same as pressing Cmd-A.

  14. AIGPUSNIFFER doesn't quit

    Version 21.1.0

    When quitting illustrator the AIGPUSNIFFER process continues to run, even though it should terminate, unless the task is manually ended in task manager. This is a huge issue considering it puts CPU usage at a high level which consequently affects battery life.

  15. Hitting Enter/Return to confirm after modifying values (Stroke, Opacity, Etc) in the Top Toolbar Opens a Move Dialog Box Instead

    When modify values such as opacity in the toolbar, i have always hit enter/return to confirm changes. As of recently however, this now opens a Move dialog box instead of submitting my changes. (See the attached gif for an example)

    If there is something wrong about my workflow please let me know, but I don't currently see any other way of confirming these types of minor edits.

    After several rounds of cancelling the move dialog, the changes will miraculously go through, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why. As you can imagine, this is…

  16. New Artboard Decimal Rounding

    Illustrator 2015.3.1

    Created a new document, set artboard to 3.375 x 2.125 with .125 inch bleed. Dialog box rounds to 2 decimal places as usual, but I expect that it honors the 3 decimal input. Save document as PDF, place into InDesign using Bleed box, am surprised to discover that document places at dimensions of 3.63 x 2.38.

    Further testing shows that if I enter the proper dimensions with the artboard tool after creating the document, then it honors the 3 decimal places. So it is only the new document dialog that is actually rounding the dimensions.

  17. Color Panel changing multiple swatches issues

    Illustrator 2018 CC 22.0.1
    Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.6

    In the past using with CS5, I was able to select multiple swatches in the colour panel, double click, and then change properties such as “Global”. As per the video in AI CC 2018, I select multiple swatches, double click, and it only opens the panel for the colour I clicked on. I’m only able to change multiple colours by clicking on the Swatch Options.

    I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature that was dropped, but it would be nice to have it back for more efficiency.

  19. Text selection not showing highlighting after macOS High Sierra 10.13 download

    When selecting any text, the text is not highlighted, thus removing my ability to know what I have selected. I am running a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. All was working well until I updated to macOS High Sierra 10.13. I have done all work arounds with no success.

  20. PDF does not preserve Illustrator editing capabilities!!

    I upgraded two days ago to the new version of Illustrator. I've been saving PDFs with 'Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities' for years. Now when I do it, it's flattening the PDFs and not allowing editing as normal. It has totally ruined two of my complex files and I've lost hours of work.

    Has anyone else had this problem or know of a fix?

    So frustrating!
