2. Illustrator 2026 Eyedropper Leaves Previous Fill Color Hidden in Nested Objects

   In Illustrator 2026, the Eyedropper tool sometimes applies the sampled appearance to the selected group/subgroup level instead of replacing the actual appearance of the underlying object.

   This creates a dangerous prepress issue: the object visually appears recolored, but the previous fill color remains inside the nested object structure. The old color does not appear as a separate duplicated object when ungrouping. It only becomes visible after entering isolation mode several levels deep. If that internal element/fill is deleted, the entire object disappears, which confirms it is not a duplicate object but the original object retaining its previous appearance.

   Expected behavior: the Eyedropper should copy and apply the selected appearance as it did in Illustrator 2025, replacing the object’s actual appearance without leaving the previous color hidden inside nested groups.

   Actual behavior: Illustrator 2026 sometimes stacks the new appearance above the object/group while preserving the previous internal fill, causing incorrect color separations and a high risk of production errors in packaging/prepress workflows.

   I'm a very experienced user. This started on Illustrator 2026. 2025-2024 were OK.

3. Revert text on paths back to how it used to be

   Fitting text to paths used to be a simple process whereby you could easily create a path from a shape, by slicing the object and creating an open ended path, (or draw one), selecting Text to path from the pull out menu on the text tool, typing and arranging text on the path and being able to adjust whether it was to appear on the top or bottom of the path, just by dragging the centre line. (All without having to go to multiple other menus/instruction boxes). I would suggest it wasn't broken, so why was it 'fixed'?

4. Persistent Wacom driver warning in Illustrator on macOS Tahoe

   I am experiencing a persistent Wacom driver warning in Illustrator 2026 that appears despite my Wacom tablet working correctly.

   System:

   MacBook Pro M4 Pro
   macOS Tahoe 26
   Adobe Illustrator 2026 30.8
   Wacom Intuos Pro S (PTH-451)
   Wacom driver 6.4.9-2

   When launching, Illustrator constantly displays:

   “Illustrator found an issue with Wacom driver. Upgrade to the latest version of Wacom driver and then enable your Wacom device using Preferences > Devices > Enable Wacom Option.”

   I have followed the recommended troubleshooting steps. WacomTabletDriver is running, the Enable Wacom option remains enabled, macOS permissions are correctly configured and both the tablet and pressure sensitivity work perfectly.

   The issue is the warning itself. It appears every time Illustrator launches and, when opening an .ai file from Finder using Open With → Adobe Illustrator, the warning blocks the file from opening until it is dismissed.

   This is extremely disruptive to my workflow. PTH-451 is an older model that is not supported by newer Wacom drivers, so updating the driver is not a viable solution.

6. SVG files won't open in Illustrator 2026. Works in earlier versions (tested in 2024)

   SVG files won't open in Illustrator 2026. I can open them in Illustrator 2024, and paste them into 2026. But opening the file in 2026 results in a totally blank artboard. Perhaps the parse is broken? Something got worse between these versions...

   Lors de la création d'un nouveau document sur Illustrator ou Photoshop, lorsque que je saisis une nouvelle largeur/hauteur : la valeur revient toute seule à l’ancienne ; parfois cela se produit plusieurs fois avant d'obtenir la saisie souhaitée. Cela se produit quelle que soit la valeur utilisée : pixels, mm, centimètres.... D'ailleurs il est très compliqué aussi de revenir à des mm si on est pixels, le logiciel revient systématiquement à la dernière valeur enregistrée.... C'est fatiguant. Perte de temps énorme. Ce bug persiste depuis plusieurs mois déjà. il faut absolument résoudre ce problème.

8. Freeform Gradient fails to apply / disappears on existing objects

   I have a problem with the Freeform Gradient tool in Illustrator. When I apply it — whether in linear (lines) or points mode — the fill appears empty, the gradient never actually applies. It's even affecting other objects that already had this type of gradient applied in previous documents; when I open them in Illustrator and try to copy or move them, the gradient disappears and the shape turns transparent.

9. Intermittent bug: Properties panel causes objects to flip vertically when changing height or width

   I encountered an intermittent bug in Adobe Illustrator where changing the Height (H) value of an object in the Properties panel → Transform section causes the object to unexpectedly flip vertically.

   The issue appears to affect the Transform controls inside the Properties panel specifically.

   The same operation performed using the standalone Transform panel (Window → Transform) works correctly.

   What happened:

   While working normally in Illustrator, I selected an object and changed its height using:

   Properties → Transform → H

   Instead of simply resizing the object vertically, Illustrator unexpectedly flipped the object vertically.

   For example, an object containing text or directional artwork would become upside down after changing its height.

   Important observations

   I initially suspected that this might be caused by the object itself, such as a negative scale, an inherited transformation, a rotated object, or a corrupted bounding box.

   However, I was able to determine that this was not the case.

   The issue also occurred with a completely new rectangle in a completely new Illustrator document.

   I then performed the same height adjustment using:

   Window → Transform

   The object resized normally and did not flip.

   This indicates that the issue appears to be isolated to the Transform controls within the Properties panel.

   The issue is intermittent

   Unfortunately, I cannot currently reproduce the problem reliably.

   It occurred sporadically during normal use. After I noticed the behavior, I tested it several times, including with a new document and a new rectangle, but the issue eventually stopped occurring.

   I completely quit Illustrator and restarted it. After restarting, the Properties panel behaved normally again.

   I did not make any changes to the document or artwork before restarting Illustrator.

   Current behavior

   After restarting Illustrator, I have not been able to reproduce the problem.

   This makes me suspect that the issue may involve a temporary internal state of the Properties panel or Illustrator's transformation system rather than a problem with the document or artwork.

   What I was able to establish
   The problem occurred in a new Illustrator document.
   The problem occurred with a newly created rectangle.
   The problem occurred when changing Height (H) through the Properties panel.
   The object unexpectedly flipped vertically instead of simply resizing.
   The standalone Transform panel worked correctly.
   The problem disappeared after completely restarting Illustrator.
   The problem is intermittent and currently cannot be reproduced reliably.
   Expected behavior

   Changing the Height value in:

   Properties → Transform → H

   should only change the object's vertical dimensions while maintaining its original orientation.

   Workaround

   When the problem occurred, using:

   Window → Transform

   instead of the Properties panel worked correctly.

   Completely restarting Illustrator also resolved the issue.

   Illustrator version

   I am using the latest/current version of Adobe Illustrator available at the time of this report on macOS.

   Possible cause:

   I suspect that the Properties panel may occasionally enter an incorrect internal transformation state, potentially causing a negative Y scale or an unintended vertical reflection when applying a height change.

   The fact that:

   • the standalone Transform panel works correctly,
   • the problem also occurs with newly created objects and documents, and
   • restarting Illustrator resolves the problem

   seems to indicate that this is an intermittent Illustrator UI/transformation bug rather than an issue with the artwork itself.

   Please investigate whether the Transform controls in the Properties panel can occasionally apply an unintended vertical reflection when changing an object's height.

    The issue seems to visible at our end after closing the Illustrator and reopening the file. However, it is just the value does not get updated in the pop up panel. The transformation change on the object happens fine and is reflected properly in the properties panel as well. Let us know if you are experience similar behavior or not.

11. Linked Images approximately above 268 megapixels render blank in illustrator (macOS)

    I have identified what appears to be an undocumented rendering limitation or bug affecting very large linked raster images in Adobe Illustrator.
    Illustrator successfully creates the link and the object appears in the document, however the linked image renders completely blank. No warning or error message is displayed.
    After extensive testing, the behaviour appears to correlate only with the total pixel count of an individual linked image, rather than file format, colour mode, GPU settings or computer hardware.
    The behaviour has also been reproduced on other Macs with different hardware specifications.

    Image Details

    Original image:
    TIFF
    8-bit
    CMYK
    72ppi
    LZW compression (also tested with ZIP and Uncompressed)
    Linked (not embedded)

    The issue also occurs when saved as:
    PSD
    PSB

    Expected Result
    The linked image should display correctly.

    Actual Result
    The image link is created successfully.
    The image occupies the correct size on the artboard.
    The Links panel reports no errors.
    However, the image itself is completely blank.
    No warning or error message is displayed.

    Troubleshooting Performed

    The following changes did not resolve the issue:

    Resampling the image below approximately 260–267 megapixels consistently restores normal behaviour.
    Changing only the image dimensions while keeping the total pixel count similar does not affect the result.
    This suggests the limitation is based on total pixels per linked image, rather than width or height.

    Why I believe this is a bug

    If Illustrator has a maximum supported raster size, I would expect:
    an error message when placing the image,
    or a warning that the image exceeds the supported limit.

    Instead, Illustrator:
    accepts the file,
    creates a valid link,
    displays the correct object size,
    but renders the image completely blank.

    This behaviour makes it difficult to determine whether the file is corrupt or whether Illustrator has exceeded an internal rendering limit.

    Suggested Improvement

    If there is an internal maximum raster size, Illustrator should:
    document the limitation,
    warn the user when placing the file,
    or generate a reduced-resolution preview while preserving the full-resolution linked image for output.

    A blank image with no warning is misleading and difficult to diagnose.

    I've used chat CPT to diagnose this issue as I couldn't see anyone reporting the same issue.

    The team is able to see the issue at their end with latest version of Illustrator on a Windows machine and is going to investigate it.

12. Exporting To SVG Format

    Illustrator 30.2.1 has a consistent SVG exporting bug. I created some images containing gradients. When I export to SVG the first time, AI will create a correct SVG file. However, subsequent exports, AI will leave out all gradients. If I close the file and reopen it, the cycle repeats.

14. Sampling a color from a layer below a placed PDF picks white, unlike previously

    Have a layered file. Top file is a linked PDF with linework. Below that layer are colours. When I want to eyedrop a colour from the layer below for a new object, while it samples the colour correctly it turns the object white instead of the colour sampled. The only work around is to turn off the linked PDF layer on top and it will sample it correctly. This was never an issue in previous versions and is very frustrating.

15. Hidden Characters remain visible when exporting in PNG

    Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2

    I work with Hidden Characters on, and when I export a PNG (export for Screens), they remain visible. Hidden Characters aren't supposed to remain visible after a PNG export. The only way that I could resolve the issue is to turn them off. But when I try to disable hidden characters, it looks like they are already off (even though I can still see them), and I have to turn them on, then off again, to make sure they are completely disabled.

    Rich tool tips are always randomly opening and staying open something even when I am on other side of screen. Hard to take a screen shot, as when I click to screen shot the tool tips disappear. It's been happening on 2 different machines running Sonoma for about 1 year. Never used to happen.

    Fixed in the latest Prerelease Build 30.4.0.211, now available in CCD app for all Prerelease program members.

    This means the fix is planned to be later pushed in the next general 30.4 release.

    The timer for tooltips would now check if the pointer is still within the tool button bounds after the delay finishes.

17. Object appearance defaults when selecting new colors (white fill, black stroke)

    When selecting a new color swatch value from the menu (see image) often times when the document has first been opened or an object has not been selected during this session, any selected objects revert to the default appearance - 1 pt outline, black stroke, white fill - regardless of what they were before. Then you have to undo what happened and try again to apply your changes. It's a minor inconvenience, but it only showed up in the last 3 updates. A clean install doesn't fix this issue. This can happen just a single time, or multiple times with a file.

    The latest build 30.2.1 doesn’t do this anymore, works as expected.

18. Custom letter shortcuts are not displayed in menus on macOS (JIS keyboard)

    Illustrator 2026 (30.0&30.6)
    macOS 26.5.2
    Japanese (JIS) keyboard

    Issue
    Custom keyboard shortcuts work correctly, but shortcuts using letters or symbols are not displayed in the application menus.
    Numeric shortcuts (for example ⌘1, ⌘2) are displayed correctly.
    Letter shortcuts (for example ⌘@, ⌥⌘R) execute correctly but are not shown in the menus.
    The shortcuts are visible in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and are saved correctly.
    This appears to be a menu display issue only.
    Steps to reproduce
    Open Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.
    Assign a custom shortcut using a letter (e.g. ⌘@).
    Save the shortcut set.
    Observe that the shortcut works.
    Check the application menu.
    Expected result
    The custom shortcut should be displayed in the menu.
    Actual result
    The shortcut works but is not displayed.
    If the shortcut is changed to a numeric key (e.g. ⌘1), it is displayed correctly.

19. Adobe Illustrator Pantone Connect LAB Color Bug

    My team is running into a bug with Pantone Connect integration in Illustrator.

    Steps to repeat:
    1. Create Adobe Illustrator file.
    2. Add Pantone swatch with Pantone Connect.
    3. Swatch is LAB color, as it should be.
    4. Save as PDF.
    5. Import PDF into InDesign, and it comes in as a CMYK Pantone swatch.
    6. If we import the native AI file, it comes comes in as a LAB Pantone swatch.

    We also noticed that if you put something like a rectangle in the document, and have it selected, when you select your swatch in Pantone Connect, it will add the Pantone LAB swatch to swatches, but it will fill the rectangle with a CMYK swatch of the color. So, then if you click on the flyout menu in the Swatches palette, and select "unused colors" that Pantone swatch will be selected, because it's not really tied to anything in the document. The rectangle is filled with CMYK, not Pantone.

20. Memory error after exporting in EPS (ID -108)

    On Illustrator 30.6 every time I export a multipage file to eps format, every artboard as a single file, the file exported are ok, but if I return to the original AI file to save the changes I receive a memory error (see the screenshot) then is not possible to save the AI file no more, and I have to use the SAVE AS command to save a new AI document from the original.
    This bug appeared in Illustrator 30.6
