1. プリントアウトを途中でキャンセルすると操作できなくなる

   プリントアウトが完了する前（ゲージが最後まで行く前）に途中でキャンセルボタンを押すと、
   マウスやキーボードでの操作が一切効かなくなる。
   カーソルは動くし、キーボードでショートカットキーを打ち込むと効いているような感じでメニューバーが反応はするが、まったく操作できなくなる。
   アプリを終了することすらできなくなる（カーソルは動くのに）。
   なので強制終了するしかなくなる。

   なお、強制終了のウィンドウを開いてもアプリ自体に問題ないように見えるが
   実質フリーズしている状態。

   また、アプリを再起動しても、回線が混んでいるとのメッセージが出て
   ファイルを開くのも非常に時間がかかる時がある。

3. Placing Illustrator file in InDesign

   Placing files with bleeds create in Illustrator 30.1 and 29.8.4 moves the artwork down-left without respecting the bleeds.
   Illustrator 29.5 works correctly.

   The problem got resolved by resaving the original file. If this ever happens with new files again — please comment.

4. New fonts don't load upon installation

   Somehow, the new Adobe Illustrator updates prevent manually installed fonts from loading. These are fonts that aren't available in Adobe Fonts. So I have to install them manually. Because of this, I have to restart Illustrator so I can use the font. There's no problem when activating fonts on Adobe Fonts. Is there a workaround for this?

6. Swatches disappear in Swatches panel when switching between documents

   I've got two documents open. An RGB one, and a CMYK one. When I CMD+TAB between the two, all the current swatches disappear. I have to click on a different 'view swatches' button to make them appear. This happens EVERY TIME. I just updated to the latest version of Illustrator thinking it would fix it, but it doesn't.

   2.ファイル→コピーを保存を実行、PDF形式を選択し次のダイアログでプリセット「PDF/X-4:2008（日本）」を選択して保存する。
   3.PDFを開いて配置した画像を調べると300ppiにダウンサンプルされている。

   期待する結果
   800ppiのままダウンサンプルされずに保存される。

   実際の結果
   配置したビットマップ画像は300ppiにダウンサンプルされる。

   このプリセットでは実行解像度が1800ppiを超えた際に1200ppiにダウンサンプルされるように設定されている。配置状態で800ppiの画像はダウンサンプルの条件に当てはまらない為ダウンサンプルされてはいけない。
   また、300ppiという数値はモノクロビットマップ画像を取り扱うには致命的に低い解像度と言える。

   回避方法
   ビルトインのPDF/X-4プリセットは利用せず、同等のプリセットを自身で作成して利用する。その他、プリプレス関連メーカーが配布するPDF/X-4プリセットを利用しても良い。

   3. Open the PDF file in Acrobat and check the placed image to find that it has been downsampled to 300ppi.

   Expected result
   The image is saved without being downsampled to 800ppi.

   Actual result
   The placed bitmap image is downsampled to 300ppi.

   The preset is set to downsample to 1200ppi when the resolution exceeds 1800ppi. Images with a resolution of 800ppi in the placed state should not be downsampled because they do not meet the conditions for downsampling.
   In addition, 300ppi is a fatally low resolution for handling monochrome bitmap images.

   Workaround
   Do not use the built-in PDF/X-4 preset, but create an equivalent preset yourself. You can also use PDF/X-4 presets distributed by prepress-related manufacturers.

   2. Trajan Color Conceptフォントを指定する。
   3. 効果→スタイライズ→ドロップシャドウを指定する。
   4. 効果部分がドロップシャドウだけでなく、半調になったテキストが含まれる。

   期待する結果
   ドロップシャドウのみがテキストに追加される。

   実際の結果
   カラーフォントを指定したテキストはドロップシャドウ部分に不透明度が低下した状態のテキストが含まれる。

   1. Add point text to the document and type “TEST STRING”.
   2. Select the Trajan Color Concept font().
   3. Select Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow.
   4. The effect includes not only the drop shadow but also the text rendered in halftones.

   Only the drop shadow is applied to the text.

   Actual Result
   Text using a color font includes text rendered with reduced opacity in the drop shadow area.

9. Object edge highlight color reverts to black while moving objects.

   Ever since the illustrator 2026 update, when I move objects the highlight color changes to black like in the attached video. I'm currently running 30.3 and it seems like it has only become more and more prevalent. Obviously this isn't great when you're working against a darker color in the background. Is this a feature that I've missed a checkbox to turn off or is this a glitch? For the techy peeps I'm running a MacBook pro Intel (2017 I think) and I'm on Tahoe 26.3.1.

   Stopped happening after reinstalling Ai anew. If this happens to you still and the same doesn’t work, please comment and share your setup specs.

10. Live dimensions expand when pasted or duplicated using any method

    If you want to make a copy of existing artwork with dimensions, you have to remember to lock the layer (which gets unlocked anytime you create a new dimension), and select only the artwork, or these live dimensions just die...

    ...but the dimensions don’t get copied over if you copy something with move dialog! There is no such an option in the dialog! And Opt/Alt moving won’t create these! And even duplicating an artboard!!!

    Same deal with Copy and Paste commands.

    Infuriating.

11. When artboard is extended layers aren't able to be shown in newly created artboard space

    See video for explanation. Just kidding I'm unable to post a video or Adobe doesn't want me showing their utter incompetence. AI is definetly turning this company into a penny stock before too long.

12. Copy via Layers panel “target” selection doesn’t populate external clipboard (works only with Selection Tool)

    When selecting objects using the target (circle) icon in the Layers panel, copy/paste works inside Illustrator but fails when pasting into external applications (e.g. Figma, TextEdit).

    The same objects, when selected using the Selection Tool, copy/paste correctly across apps.

    Tested on AI 30.3 & 29.8.6 on Mac Tahoe 26.3.1

    Steps to reproduce
    - Create a simple shape (e.g. rectangle or circle)
    - In the Layers panel, click the target icon (circle) for the object
    Press Cmd+C
    - Switch to another app (e.g. Figma, Sketch, TextEdit, browser)
    Paste (Cmd+V)

    Actual result
    - Nothing is pasted in external applications
    - Clipboard appears empty or unsupported

    Expected result
    - Objects should be correctly copied to the system clipboard
    - Paste should work in external apps (PDF/SVG/AICB formats), same as when using the Selection Tool

13. Layer thumbnails are not displaying properly (CPU Preview)

    Issue: Layer thumbnails are cropped based on previous zoom state.

    When you open a document that's been previously saved in a zoomed-in state, all visible layers' thumbnails will only show the elements that are visible in the zoom view. That is, elements that were out of view when the document was saved, are no longer visible in their layer thumbnail after reopening the document.

    How to reproduce

    1. Make sure "GPU Performance" is turned OFF in the preferences.

    2. Create or open a document that has many elements in it.

    3. Zoom into a particular area of the document, purposely cropping other parts of the document out of view.

    4. Save the document.

    5. Close and reopen the document.

    6. Notice how the layers' thumbnails only display the elements that were in view.

    Another possibly related bug is when creating elements via scripting. Elements generated outside of the current view are immediately not visible in their layer's thumbnail.

    Some notes:

    • This only occurs when "GPU Performance" is explicitly switched OFF in the preferences (not by using CTRL+E or "View > View using CPU/GPU").

    • This only occurs for layers that are visible. Layers that had their visibility toggled off are not affected.

    • I believe the last version of Illustrator that did not have any of these problems was Illustrator 2024 (v28).

    If needed, I can provide more details and/or screen recordings of the bugs. Just let me know.

14. Scroll wheel is very slow and unresponsive in Adobe Illustrator 30.0

    Since updating to 30.0 today, the UI seems very slow, particularly when using the scroll wheel to navigate the canvas.

15. Radial gradient Annotator's centre point not aligned to object centres

    Windows 10, all updated.
    Illustrator 30.3 64-bit

    The end point of the 'Gradient Annotator' marking the centre of a radial gradient should, I think, be placed on the centre of an object. But there is a rather big offset (image 'gradient-align.png'), which makes it tricky to position the gradient to, for instance, the bottom of an object.
    The centre is not really the centre but is rather to the right of the centre point. It is weird.

    Ideally, it would be at the centre so the 'Gradient Annotator' could be perfectly placed at the centre if the bar was moved down ('gradient-moved.png').

    Windows 10, all updated.

16. Illustrator not letting me save my files or very slow

    Illustrator keeps lagging on saving sometimes not responsive and not letting me quit illustrator.
    Did not use to happen about a month ago.

    Illustrator 30.3
    Macbook Pro M1 Max
    Sonoma 14.8.5 (23J423)

    Admittedly we run our server on Dropbox, but even still it was not a problem about 1 month ago.

    Please don’t ask me to to save files locally as that is not a viable solution.

    Saving on dropbox was working fine without issue a few months ago, now all of sudden it is lagging for 10 mins a file that used to take 1min to save sometimes not even saving at all just stuck on save without being able to close illustrator.

    We have 100’s of files on dropbox and need to share files between team members so not viable to save locally.

    Illustrator keeps lagging on saving sometimes not responsive and not letting me quit illustrator.

17. Swatch color values get adjusted proportionally when pasting a value with Ctrl/Win+V

    New Swatch dialog always adjust values proportionally when just pasting a value.

    Here are the steps to reproduce the bug (and the GIF):

    1. In a new CMYK document create a global swatch with CMYK 33 10 33 0
    2. Confirm, edit the swatch again
    3. Copy '20' value as text from anywhere
    4. Paste the value into the M input — using Ctrl/Win+V (I’m on Windows)

    Ai would turn both '33' values into '66', doubling it, as if Ai thinks I want to adjust values proportionally — as if I HOLD Ctrl when CONFIRMING the value — while I haven’t confirmed it yet...
    If I paste using Shift+Insert, the values stay unchanged as expected.

    It could have been a nice trick, to choose if I want to proportionally change values or not — similar to how some panels in Ai allow to temporarily constrain values with Ctrl held, like Color or Transform — but... we have no way to just PASTE without it :)

18. DXF import size issue 2026 that works in 2024

    Opening DXF in latest version 2026 at original size or 1:1 does not work, results are close but not exact. Works fine in version 2024. However, if saved as a PDF from 2024 with accurate sizes, when opened in version 2026 the size is not accurate, a few thousands off. Have many files that were created using 2024 and if I need to make adjustments for any reason opening in 2026 will result in size issues.
    Windows 10 64 gb ram.

19. Breaks in gradients/gradients not rendering/pixels missing

    I'm having issues with exporting artwork from Illustrator, which features a stroke (100pt, round cap) with a gradient (2x colours in gradient, applied along the stroke).

    My operating system:
    MacOS Tahoe 26.2

    The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop):
    • V30.1and a version 2x updates before
    • A member of the Adobe support group tested my supplied file against other versions of Illustrator and found it is reproducible in at least Illustrator 2023.

    The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues:
    1. Selected File > Export > Export as
    2. Selected ‘PNG’ from format dropdown
    3. Selected ‘Use Artboards’, ‘All’
    4. Clicked ‘Export’
    5. From PNG options export window selected:
    - Resolution: High (300ppi)
    - Anti-aliasing: Type Optimised (hinted)
    - Interlaced: Left unchecked
    - Background colour: Transparent
    6. Clicked ‘Ok’

    Your expected result and the actual result:
    My expected result: A solid gradient along my path in my preferred exported format.
    Actual result: A path with weird white breaks, almost like some pixels are missing or are not rendering correctly.

    Other info for reference:
    I've tried:
    • Exporting a png directly from illustrator, it appears
    • Expanding the stroke and exporting, it appears
    • I've started a new doc and pasted it in there and exported, still appears
    • I've increased the resolution of gradients in my doc setup setting, still appears when exporting.
    • I’ve exported the png with CPU preview switched on, still appears
    • I’ve exported the png with CPU preview switched on and ticked Optimise Art in the PNG settings, still appears.
    • Added extra points to the path, still appears. Note from community member that suggested this and tried themselves on my supplied file: “I didn't see any of the strange glitches along the stroke in GPU Preview regardless of zoom level. But they did show up when switching to CPU Preview. I found that I could make a lot of the tiny white glitches disappear by adding more anchor points to the path. The white glitches also tend to change position or appear/disappear depending on the zoom level. Adding points isn't a 100% good approach though. Even when adding a lot of points to the path a couple white speckles might still appear depending on the zoom level.”

    When it does NOT appear:
    • Placing the AI file into indesign, exporting it as a png
    • Exporting as a jpg from Illustrator
    • When you expand the stroke with a solid colour, then manually set the gradient with the free form gradient setting and adding in your points to create the gradual fade from one colour to another. > my current solution to the problem

    I've checked the artwork and there's no extra points, weird shapes sitting on top of the path. I've given the artwork file to another colleague and posted it in the adobe support group and no one can figure out what the issue is.

20. Objects with Perceptual Gradients applied (and no Dither) gets rasterized fully on PDF export, instead of becoming clipped rasters

    It still rasterizes the whole object, rather than converting it to a clipped bitmap (unless you also enable Dither though).
