1. Illustrator crash on relinking image

   Windows 11, all Adobe software up to date, Illustrator 30.2.1 (64-bit)

   Raster artwork in my Illustrator files is stored in a folder adjacent to my Illustrator folder. Occasionally, I must insert a file into the numbering structure, so the raster artwork becomes 'orphaned'. So, when I open the Illustrator file, I get the relink artwork dialogue box. If I hit relink, a relink box appears, followed instantly by a Gaussian blur dialogue box with a 100% blue bar, and Illustrator freezes, requiring a shutdown via Task Manager.

   If I reset my preferences (a 2-minute job using AG Astute Manager), it solves the issue for 1 or 2 files, but then it returns. The workaround is to click ignore and then relink the image manually, but it's a pain when fixing many files.

2. Canvas not visible when opening or creating files in Adobe Illustrator

   I’m experiencing an issue where the canvas (artboard/work area) does not appear when I open an existing file or create a new document in Adobe Illustrator.

   The application itself opens normally, and the UI loads (menus, toolbars, panels), but the main canvas area where the artwork should be displayed is completely missing or blank.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   - Open Adobe Illustrator
   - Create a new file OR open an existing file
   - Illustrator loads the interface normally
   - The canvas/artboard does not appear

   Expected Result:
   The canvas/artboard should be visible and ready for editing.

   Actual Result:
   The canvas area is not displayed at all, making it impossible to view or edit any artwork.

   Additional Notes:
   The issue happens consistently when opening or creating files.
   The rest of the interface appears functional.

3. Curved paths not honouring guide styles / Guides are not dotted

   When converting artwork to guides, anything that has a curved path does not show the guide style set up in preferences. In my case I have guides set up as a dashed line with a light grey colour. What I'm seeing is a solid black line. Happens in AI 29.6.1 and the beta 29.7 88. Sample shows two shapes converted to guides but the ellipse remains as a solid black line. Using MacOS 14.7.6.

   Works as expected in Beta 30.0.0.114.

   Please test the fix to make sure it’s ready to be pushed into the general build.

4. Moving a part of a blend with any Selection tool makes it move faster than expected

   In 29.7.1 (and Beta 29.9.0.6) when I move one object in a blend with any selection tool, inside or outside of isolation, it moves twice as much.

   Seems to work as expected in Beta 30.0.0.72 — moving an object now works as expected. Please try to update and verify if it’s safe to be pushed into General build

5. PDF export without color conversion converts RGB images to CMYK

   This is a bug that occurs in Illustrator 2025 (29.2.1) and later.

   When an RGB image is placed as a linked file in a CMYK document, it gets converted to CMYK upon PDF export, even if "No Color Conversion" is selected. In Illustrator 2025 (29.2.0) and earlier, the image remained in RGB.

   This bug affects only PNG and JPG files. Other formats, such as PSD, remain in RGB.

   Steps to Reproduce

   1. Create a new CMYK document.
   2. Place an RGB image (PNG or JPG) as a linked file (do not embed).
   3. Export the document as a PDF with "No Color Conversion" selected.

   How to Verify That RGB Images Are Converted to CMYK in PDF

   1. Open the exported PDF in Acrobat.
   2. Go to Print Production > Output Preview.
   3. Set Preview to "Object Inspector."
   4. Click on an image in the PDF.
   5. The object information will be displayed, showing the actual color mode.

   You will see that the RGB image has been converted to CMYK, even though it should have remained in RGB.

   Issues

   Users who lack in-depth knowledge of color profiles rely on workflows where RGB images in PDFs are properly converted to CMYK at the output stage. However, with this bug, RGB images are automatically converted to CMYK during PDF export, meaning that any inappropriate color profile settings at the time of linking will carry over, making quality control at the output stage impossible.

   Additionally, this issue affects not only exported PDFs but also the embedded compatibility PDFs in AI files. When an AI file is placed as a linked document in InDesign, InDesign reads only the compatibility PDF, making it impossible to verify whether the AI file contains linked RGB images.

   Expected Behavior

   When exporting a PDF with "No Color Conversion" selected, linked RGB images should remain in RGB.

   問題点

   カラープロファイルの知識が不足しているユーザーは適切なCMYK変換ができないため、PDF内のRGB画像を出力側で適切にCMYKへ変換するフローが存在します。しかし、このバグによりPDF書き出し時にCMYKに変換されると、リンク配置時の不適切なカラープロファイル選択がそのまま反映されてしまい、出力側での品質管理が困難になります。

   また、この問題は書き出したPDFだけでなく、aiファイルの互換PDFにも影響を及ぼします。IllustratorのaiファイルをInDesignドキュメントにリンク配置する場合、InDesignは互換PDFを読み込むため、aiファイル内にRGB画像がリンク配置されているかどうかをInDesign上で確認することができなくなります。

   期待する結果

   PDF書き出し時に「カラー変換なし」を選択した場合、リンク配置されたRGB画像はRGBのまま維持されるべきです。

6. ファイルのアクセス権が起動時に必ず求められる

   Mac版についてになります。
   アプリの起動を行うと、まず初めに

   「Adobe Illustrator 2026から、他のアプリからのデータへのアクセス権を求められています。」
   という確認ポップアップが、表示されるようになりました。

   Macの設定にある、「セキュリティ、プライバシー」のファイルアクセスなどに関する権限をみたところ、追加がされていませんでした。
   （なお、PremiereやPhotoshopは追加されていました）
   残念ながら、Mac上では対象アプリを追加することができないようになっており、これらの対応策が見つからない状態になりました。

   同様の現象などで回避策をお持ちでしたらご教示ください。

   Mac OS26.3
   Illustrator　30.2.1の最新版

   （26/3/14現在）

   このバージョンにアップデートしてから今回のような症状が現れた記憶になります。

7. Copy-pasting mesh between files results in rasterized image

   When copying and pasting a mesh from one file to another, it turns into a raster image. However, simply dragging and dropping the mesh object works fine

8. Font explorer dropdown from the Character section in Properties panel is obscured by other panels with 2 columns of docked panels

   Running 30.2.1

   When the new Character panel is open and font has been selected, the panel is now so big that it becomes obscured if I open a property on the second panel, so I cannot make further font adjustments without closing the second panel.

   It seems the properties panel process is selective for some properties and not for others, e.g., Transform opens in both panels, whereas Appearance does not. The UX seems inconsistent. Something feels off.

9. Keyboard shortcuts for text formatting (kerning, tracking, leading, font size) no longer work in Illustrator 29.7.1

   These also don't work:

   Increase or decrease leading: Option + Up or Down Arrow (horizontal text) or Right or Left Arrow (vertical text)

   As noted in the core report, the fix available in Prerelease build now, starting with 29.8. Preferences should no longer change some specific values when the Search field has anything in it. The next general build should have this fix included.

10. We request that function key conversion be re-enabled for Japanese input.

    Due to the latest update release, the conversion shortcuts using function keys during Japanese input have become unavailable. Please restore them so they can be used again.

    Conversion shortcut details:
    F6 → Hiragana
    F7 → Katakana
    F8 → Half-width Roman characters
    F9 → Full-width Roman characters

    In Japan, conversion shortcuts using function keys are commonly used.
    Previously, I could use those keys for Japanese input conversion without having to delete the corresponding Illustrator shortcut settings. However, in the latest version, even deleting the settings doesn't work, which is inconvenient.

11. Scaling down a placed image makes it unmovable

    After placing a PNG and scaling it down to fit my artwork, I was no longer able to move the PNG into place. I could only select it in the Layers panel or by clicking and dragging over it. There does seem to be a threshold before this happens — if I only scale it down a small amount, it seems to behave as normal, but if I go beyond 50%, it becomes unstable. Of course, the workaround is to scale the PNG closer to the size needed, but this behavior seems to be new. I am pretty sure I have been able to scale images freely in the past.

    It just crashed.

13. Arrow keys, Home & End keys don’t work when renaming Artboard names on canvas

    We now can rename artboards directly on canvas, by double-clicking a name, if 'Artboard names on canvas' is enabled in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.
    However, navigating this input with arrows, Home, End, etc., is not possible. Please make it work.

14. Unintended shortcuts triggered by Ctrl + Win/Apps keys on Windows

    On Illustrator for Windows, a specific key sequence triggers unintended shortcuts. This issue appears to be caused by a bit-level misidentification within Illustrator's input handling, where certain keys are processed as different characters.

    The order of key presses is critical:
    1. Hold down the Ctrl key first.
    2. While holding Ctrl, press the Left Windows Key or Apps Key.

    Actual Results:

    • Ctrl + Left Win: triggers "Send to Back" (matches Ctrl + [).
    • Ctrl + Alt + Left Win: triggers "Select Next Object Below" (matches Ctrl + Alt + [).
    • Ctrl + Apps: triggers "Bring Forward" (matches Ctrl + ]).
    • Ctrl + Alt + Apps: triggers "Select Next Object Above" (matches Ctrl + Alt + ]).
    • Ctrl + Shift + Left Win: During object selection: "Send to Backmost" (matches Ctrl + Shift + [). During text editing: "Negative Kerning" (matches Ctrl + Shift + [).

    Technical Analysis:

    The Virtual-Key Codes for these keys are:
    - Left Win (0x5B): 0101 1011 / [ Key (0xDB): 1101 1011
    - Apps Key (0x5D): 0101 1101 / ] Key (0xDD): 1101 1101

    A consistent pattern is observed where the most significant bit (0x80) is incorrectly set to "1" during Illustrator’s internal processing of these combinations.

15. Creating and/or Entering Opacity Mask doesn’t work from Properties / Control panels

    When clicking on the Opacity popu-up panel (in Control or Properties) and then clicking on the mask thumbnail to activate that mode, the thumbnail highlights but as soon as I attempt to edit the contents of the mask, it shows that the mode is not activated. Only if I select the 'Clip' checkbox in the Opacity panel will it allow me to edit the mask. But then clicking the 'Object' thumbnail in the Opacity panel, similarly does not exit mask-editing mode. I have to uncheck the 'Clip' checkbox to get back to normal mode. Previously, simply clicking on each thumbnail would easily switch between mask mode and normal editing mode.

17. Picking Eyedropper temporarily disables Smart Guides

    In previous versions (can’t say for sure now when it stopped) we were able to aim with the Eyedropper better, when Smart Guides were enabled. In CC 2017 it works. Was quite helpful to pick color from a stroke, highlighting the object that is going to be sampled. Cool, right?

    But now, I suppose with the Photoshop-style sampling rings glued on, Illustrator forgot it’s a vector program. The sampling ring should not disable Smart guides!

    I somewhat get why pressing Shift might disable it, because Shift enables the 'sample by pixel' mode, and picking a color from a smart guide is not something we would need (actually, jus ignore the color of these, don’t hide)... but why disable Smart Guides for the normal mode? Please review and fix! The tool doesn’t hint what exactly it would pick, a stroke, a fill, a raster color... Sampling ring is not a solution, especially if you work in CMYK.

18. Export for Screens scale dropdown doesn't work

    In the Export for Screens dialogue, the dropdown does not change the scale entered in the box. For example: box says 0.25x. I choose 1x in the dropdown, 1x is checked in the dropdown, but the box still says 0.25x and the export will be 0.25x.

    Typing the scale in the box works.

    The fix has been pushed into the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check, and comment back if it still happens.

19. Illustrator Layers Panel Object Thumbnails No Longer Update After Edits

    In Illustrator, the object thumbnails in the Layers panel are no longer refreshing after changes are made to the artwork to match the new appearance. Because the preview remains outdated, it becomes harder to track changes and quickly identify the correct objects in complex files. This breaks a useful visual cue and makes the workflow less reliable and less efficient.

20. 30.3 SVG Code is not at the same scale size as same file code from 29.8.6. It's half the size

    Exporting a SVG file from 2026 30.3 the code is a complete different size than the same file code from 2025 29.8.6 and not in a good way.

    The image on the left is from 2025 and the image on the right is from 2026.

    This is a bug that shouldn't be in the 2026 version
