   再現手順:
   1. Illustrator で任意のドキュメントを開く
   2. メニュー「ファイル」＞「プリント」を選択
   3. プリントダイアログで用紙サイズや設定を変更
   4. 「プリント」をクリック

   実際の結果:
   ・「プリント」を実行した直後に Illustrator がクラッシュして終了する
   期待する結果:
   ・「プリント」を実行しても落ちずに、正常にプリント処理が行われる

   補足情報:
   ・データの複雑さやIllustratorの起動時間は関係ないように感じる
   ・他の EPSON 製プリンターでは同じ操作を行ってもクラッシュは発生しない
   ・DocuColor 1450 GA のプリンタードライバーを再インストールしたが、問題は改善しなかった

4. Ai2025 - The Pencil tool has become unusable again! There's no accuracy—it’s too smooth!!!

   I’m here to post about the same issue I did in 2014.
   The Pencil tool has become unusable once again! It’s smoothing too much, even on the maximum accuracy setting (left first slider tick).

   Back in 2014, when Adobe rewrote the Pencil tool, you removed the previous numeric settings and replaced them with four ticks. All of them were too smooth and took too much control over the path, leading to imprecise bubbly and smooth drawings.

   I made a post about this back then, and Adobe was super nice to respond by adding a fifth lowest left tick with the previous lowest accurate settings, which I’ve been using for nearly 20 years now: "lowest fidelity, 0.5px smoothness, 0%."

   Now, after the 2025 update, the pencil tool once again is smoothing too much, even on the lowest accuracy setting. This is making mine and my colleagues work impossible because the tool doesn’t generate enough anchor points to create the detailed and organic edge illustrations we need. Not everyone is looking to draw smooth, bubbly shapes!

   This is crucial in an free hand drawn operation such as the pencil tool because anchor points act as the resolution of the path, determining the type of edges you want to express in your drawings. The character of the edge is essential for the final look.

   Why shouldn't we have more control over the path resolution, allowing for higher values? Currently, Illustrator seems to be leaning towards reducing the resolution of our paths, limiting our creative control leaning towards more smooth bubbly or geometric style.

   Inkscape is fantastic in this regard as it doesn't limit the resolution the artist gets to add to the path. It has a numeric setting where you can set what you need. Unfortunately inkscape falls short on other aspects of the freehand pencil drawing process, for instance you can't redraw over and over again and sculpt your path with the pencil tool as you can in illustrator.

   With this post I’m requesting:

   (1) To fix the bug and bring back the ability to generate more anchor points on the path for accuracty on the lowest tick with "lowest fidelity, 0.5px smoothness, 0%."

   (2) I'm also making an additional feature request for the ability to add even more anchor points than that by adding an even lower sixth tick that generates even more anchor points, with a setting like "lowest fidelity, 0.2px smoothness, 0%."

   Alternatively, and idealy, please bring back the numeric values like you had before that allow us to set the path resolution more precisely, similar to how Inkscape still handles it.

   This won’t slow down the application in any significant way—today's machines can handle it. I've pushed Illustrator to its limits for many years, and higher resolution paths have never been an issue. There's no reason to hold back on giving users more control over the paths and the style of their illustrations.

   I would love to assist in testing it out.

6. Thumbnails & Quicklook preview has incorrectly positioned pictures.

   29.8.1 thumbnails und Apple Quicklook show previews with incorrectly positioned pictures. This was a bug present in earlier versions, but in the actual documents.
   After fixing it inside of Ai, the bug is now in thumbnails & Quicklook.

7. JPEGs cannot open in Whatsapp

   The File > Export > Export as > JPEG/JPG produces files that cannot be opened in the latest WhatsApp. When opened, a popup will appear saying "This file was sent in an unusual format, which may indicate that this file is malicious, corrupted, or not supported by WhatsApp. For security reasons, this file cannot be opened.

9. Duplicate Artboards will always fail if even one artboard exists near the right edge of the canvas

   Duplicating an artboard using the Duplicate Artboards command in the Artboards panel will fail if one of the artboards in the document is near the right edge of the canvas and the new artboard is at coordinates that extend beyond the canvas.

   It is not possible to duplicate the artboard by wrapping it in the Y direction. Therefore, when such artboards are in the document, it will never succeed.

   The expected behavior is that Duplicate Artboards will also do so, since you can copy and paste artboards and New Artboard will generate them with a wrap around.

   Environment

   • macOS 12.7.5
   • Illustrator 2025 (29.6.1)

   Steps to reproduce

   1. Open the attached file "duplicate_artboards.pdf(ai)"
   2. Select Artboard 1 and execute "Duplicate Artboard"

   Actual result

   The error message "Cannot create Artboard outside the canvas. Please rearrange and try again." appears and stops.

   

   Expected result

   The artboard is duplicated with the Y coordinate shifted down and the X coordinate aligned with the left edge of the previous artboard row.

   Workaround

   Select the artboard with the Artboard tool, then copy and paste.

   アートボードパネルにある「アートボードを複製」コマンドを使ってアートボードを複製する際、書類内に1つでもアートボードがカンバスの右端近くにあり、新しいアートボードがカンバスからはみ出す座標になると失敗します。

   Y方向に折り返して複製することができません。そのため、そういったアートボードが書類内にあるときは永遠に複製が成功することはありません。

   アートボードのコピー＆ペーストや、「新規アートボード」では折り返して生成することができるので、「アートボードを複製」もそうなるのが、予期する結果です。

10. Auto-update of linked images broken in Illustrator 2025 (works in 2024)

    have encountered an issue with Illustrator 2025(~29.7.1) on macOS 15.6.1.
    When I edit and save a linked PSD file in Photoshop, Illustrator 2025 does not auto-update the linked image immediately when switching back from Photoshop.
    • In Illustrator 2024, this works perfectly: saving in Photoshop → switching to Illustrator → the link updates instantly.
    • In Illustrator 2025, the update does not happen unless I first switch to another app or Finder, then return to Illustrator.
    • I confirmed this behavior on multiple Macs, both before and after updating macOS.
    • Preferences “Update Links Automatically” and “Check Links Before Opening Document” are enabled.

    It seems Illustrator 2025(~29.7.1) is not detecting the file system change event when switching directly from Photoshop.
    Could you please confirm if this is a known bug, and if a fix is planned in a future update?

11. Image in clipping mask moves when I open the file in Acrobat or Preview

    Illustrator 29.8.2 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8

    I have images in clipping masks. When I open the .ai document in Adobe Acrobat or Preview, the images have moved.
    The workaround I have for now is to print to .ps to generate a .pdf.

    (I just updated Illustrator but it happened yesterday too before the update with another file)

13. Action batch in Ai 2025 is slow

    illustrator CC2025 actions batch with data sets is slower then previous version CC2024.
    In Illustrator CC2024 it is not so fast but now in CC2025 is even more slower for the same template and datasets and action. Data sets with action save PDF in batch process is slower dat for example InDesign’s Datamerge to PDFfiles.

15. 29.5.2 MacOS 15.5 M3 Performance degrades over time, after extended use.

    Working with the any file, the performance degrades over time. 30min-1 hour it becomes noticeable. CPU slowly move up as time progresses from 10% to 100%. File becomes so slow that it takes 2-3 second for typed text to appear. A restart of AI fixes it.
    Files are not point-heavy nor do they have complicated effects.

    ダイレクト選択ツールの動作がおかしいです。(English below Japanese)
    「グリッドにスナップ」がONの状態で、グリッドに沿っていないオブジェクトの辺やアンカーポイントをダイレクト選択ツールでクリックしようとしても選択できません。また、クリッピングマスクを施した画像に関しては、「グリッドにスナップ」がOFFの状態であっても、マスクの辺やアンカーポイントを選択できません。
    このようなことは以前は発生していませんでした。なお、環境設定をリセットしても直りません。

    使用OS：mac OS Sequoia（バージョン15.3.2）
    Illustratorのバージョン：29.4

    The direct selection tool is not working properly.
    When “Snap to Grid” is enabled, clicking on an edge or anchor point of an object that does not follow the grid will not select it correctly. Also, regarding clipping masks, even if “snap to grid” is disabled, the edge or anchor point cannot be selected.
    This troubling event had not occurred before. Resetting the preferences does not fix the problem.

    OS: mac OS Sequoia (ver.15.3.2)
    Illustrator: ver.29.4

    The team says it’s fixed in Prerelease build 29.6.191.

    The fix is now scheduled to be pushed into the upcoming general release. If you are a part of the PR program, please check if it works.

18. Selection Tool grabbing top layer rather than selected object in Layers panel

    I’m aware that there are workarounds to this issue, but being something I have always done through habit, I don't like that this has suddenly changed on me. I reset my settings to default, but cannot find anything that goes back to how I used to select objects.

    Okay into the issue... I usually would select objects in the Layer panel, I use overlapping objects of the EXACT same size, ones with pattern vectors and gaps and lower layers of gradient colours, and if I want to edit this colour layer or move it around my canvas, I would normally just click the object, select in the Layers panel, but then when I go to click to slide the bottom layer out and away it automatically grabs the very top layer. I know I could lock the top layer or isolate the selected bottom layer, but I just enjoyed the simplicity of not needing to do either of those things in the past.
    Please someone help me, I’ve been trying to fix this for hours with no luck.

    I’ve supplied a video, where I would like to just select, edit or move the bottom object (in this video being the rainbow layer), however I can only move it with isolation mode now, which isn't what I want.

19. Crash on new artboard

    Every time I click on the "+" under my artboards window, it crashes. I have 24 artboards already, and if I duplicate one using Option click drag, it seems ok. But New Artboard crashes again and again.

20. Illustrator 29.8.1 stopped working with Extensis Connect. Activated fonts don't show up.

    Been struggling for about a week with fonts not showing up in Illustrator when activated in Extensis Connect. I'd have to restart Illy to have the activated font show up. Is this classified as a bug? Extensis support took me as far as they were willing to go then washed their hands of it and said it was an Adobe issue. Extensis plugin bug or latest version of Illustrator that doesn't work with Connect? I draw stuff, not develop software.

    The summary for the workaround was to uninstall 29.8.1 and revert to 28.7.10. Hopefully this gets fixed and both apps can cooperate again.
