  1. "The file is not readable" Can't paste image into Illustrator without saving it to computer

    When I try to paste an image I copied from pinterest/google etc, it always shows "the file is not readable". Now I have to save every image I want and then drag and drop/place it in illustrator. Which is an additional step I don't need and is very frustrating.

    I've never had this problem before. Can anyone help?

  2. Illustrator does not omit spaces in values in inputs, unlike in InDesign

    Unlike in InDesign, where we can accidentally make this:
    '21 |mm' → '21 0|mm' and get '210 mm' as a result, in Illustrator it goes liek this instead:
    '21 |mm' → '21 0|mm' → '21 mm'
    It just doesn’t understand what an aiming mistake is. Makes little sense, since it can’t be anything but that, so no punishment, please.

  3. The pen tool isn't connecting anchor points on new shapes

    When I try to create a new shape or path using the pen tool, it keeps creating single anchor points without linking them together. Is there a setting or something turned on that I'm not aware of, or is this a glitch? It's really impacting my work!

  4. Huion Tablet and Windows Ink

    I have the last version of Windows 11. Only on illustrator. I have a Huion tablet and the pen only has pressure when windows ink is activated. But as soon as windows ink is activated, it becomes almost impossible to click and drag any object with the pen, enter a group or chose a new tool (but no problem with the trackpad). So i have to chose between being able to work efficiently but drawing without pressure OR drawing with pressure but having debilitating lagging.

    Is there a way to keep the pressure activated without activating windows ink ?

  5. Two selection borders around text

    There's a second border around a text in my file when I select it. I cannot find why, what it does and how to remove it. When I create new text, it doesn't appear.

  6. Move (Enter) doesn't copy the first time it's selected

    When moving using the enter shortcut and hitting copy. It fails the first time and doesn't do anything. but the same input works the second time See attached video.

  7. Text shifts when moving text frames which use Every-line Composer

    As per this thread at forums:

    Ai will recalculate justification each time a text frame with Every-line Paragraph Composer is nudged, either with arrow keys or dragging.

    Although it’s clearly just moving, and should not trigger recalculation, Ai does it (I can think only of one case when it should happen — when objects with Text Wrap enabled are present and intersecting the the moved object — and they aren’t and don’t).

    The text wobbles a bit and it's slow, to recalculate this every time.
    Why does it happen? InDesign does not do this.

  8. Copying tables from InDesign and only the text pastes in Illustrator

    Hello, I used to be able to copy a table I created in InDesign and copy and paste it into Illustrator with all of the formatting being the same. Now when I go to paste a table, all of the table formatting is missing and it's just a big block of text. Please fix this soon as my company does this on a day-to-day basis for our images. I attached an image of what it looks like when I paste the table in Illustrator.

    Illustrator team is working on a fix for this issue. Meanwhile you can use the below workaround to paste the table as it was before.


    Before you copy the table in InDesign, create a path object along with table and then copy from InDesign and Paste in Illustrator. This forces the PDF route for copy/paste between ID and AI

  10. Illustrator 27.6.1 randomly freezing...

    This is happenng to a few of the machines in my office. AI will randomly stop responding. The window will grey out and the only way to resolve is to force quit (I've given it an hour once to see if it resolved itself, but no).

    AI 27.6.1
    Windows 11
    Nvidia RTX A2000 12gb GPU
    i7-12700 CPU
    64G memory

  11. スタティックシンボル化した画像にドロップシャドウが反映されない

    詳細：

    「オブジェクト」メニューからのラスタライズや
    リンクの埋め込みなどで画像となったオブジェクトをシンボル（スタティック）登録し、
    効果「ドロップシャドウ」をかけたところ、見た目に反映されず無視されました。
    同じスタイライズメニュー内の「光彩」も同様の結果です。

    しかし、もう１つドロップシャドウを重ねると、今度は２つ重ねた結果が表示されました。
    目玉マークでどちらの効果を消しても、１つだけだと無視されます。
    「ドロップシャドウ」「光彩」の混在も、合わせて２つだと重ねがけの結果が現れます。
    同じスタイライズメニュー内の「ぼかし」は１つでも反映され、本件に関わらない挙動でした。

    暫定的な回避策：
    ＊画像化したシンボルに対して「効果」メニュー内から擬似的な「ラスタライズ」をかける
    ＊シンボルの種類を「ダイナミック」に変える
    ＊シンボル化（リンク）を解除

    スタティックシンボル化した画像に限定されるアピアランス結果が現れることはもちろん
    そもそも１つ目の効果が無視されること自体が問題です。
    また、すでにIllustratorフォーラムで識者の皆さまにご意見を伺いましたところ
    自分以外の環境下でも同様の結果が再現できております。（下記リンク参照）
    従って、本件の内容がバグや不具合にあたるものとしてご報告させていただきます。

    同じ現象を再現確認した環境は以下のとおりです。

    Illustrator 26.5.2／macOS 12.6.3
    Illustrator 26.5.2／Windows10 pro
    Illustrator 27.3.1／Windows10 21H2
    Illustrator 26.5.3／Windows10 21H2
    Illustrator 22.1／Windows10 21H2
    Illustrator 27.3.1／macOS 11.7.4

  12. Gaussian blur reverting when opacity is updated + blur effect creating a rectangular frame

    Gaussian blur gets disabled when you change the opacity of the shape; and will have to open the gaussian blur effect panel to re-apply the blur.

  13. Shapes drawn with the pencil tool are always created with the basic fill appearance, even if "new art has basic appearance" is not checked.

    1. Create a new Illustrator document.
    2. In the Appearance panel, deselect "New art has basic appearance", if it's selected.
    3. Select the pencil tool and use it to draw a curved line.
    4. Set the stroke of the line to 10 point and the color to red.
    5. Set the fill to black.
    6. Draw another line with the pencil tool. The stroke is 10 point red, but the fill reverts to none.
    7. Repeat with the pen tool. This time, the fill stays black when a second line is drawn.

    This problem was not present in earlier versions of Illustrator.

  14. I can't scale objects, neither with basic arrow tool, it feels like this one is the same of the white arrow.

    I can't scale objects, neither with basic arrow tool. It feels like it's the same of the white arrow. I tried changing area's work, illustrator version, but nothing happens. It just doesn't work, shift + click doesn't scale any object, nothing happens when i click on the angle, it only shows me the anchor points just like the white arrow...

  16. Area Type Options: Align is mislabeled. Should say "vertical", not "horizontal"

    This UI option is mislabeled. It controls the vertical alignment of the text in a frame, not the horizontal alignment.

  17. Illustrator is crashing all day long, for no reason

    Illustrator is crashing straight away, it just crashes and closes, sometimes recovering the file worked on at the time and sometimes not, and for no apparent reason to me. It doesn't crash with a specific file, it has crashed with several. I stopped counting after crashing 20 times in one day. I use a Creative Cloud account where I alternate using it between a Windows computer (at work) and at home on an iMac (home-office) and it only crashes on Windows.   18. "Selection" automatically jumping to "move" when clicking on an object and move action isn't retained

    Adobe Illustrator Version: 27.7
    Operating System: Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1

    Regardless of the file I'm working in, when I use my selection tool to select an object, upon moving my cursor the object starts moving like I'm clicking and dragging it (this is after tapping once on the object and letting go on the track pad). Then, when I move the object and click on the trackpad again, the object moves back to its original position and Illustrator makes an error alert noise.

    I have uninstalled Illustrator a few times, downloaded older versions from CC, and restarted my machine numerous…

  19. Export svg doesn't work if symbol stainer used on a symbol

    I have noticed that an svg export adds a character in the svg code on a symbol in which the symbol stainer was used. When I break the link to the symbol, the svg exports as expected. I have been able to repeat this error.

  20. Alt/Opt clicking into the spectrum bar in Color panel now changes both fill and stroke on release

    When I hold Alt/Opt and drag the cursor over the spectrum bar, I am able to change the color of the inactive attribute — in this case stroke, since fill is activated. However, as soon as the mouse button is released, the fill gets changed to the picked color too! This was not the case in the the previous version.
