1. Repeat objects ignore Select > Inverse command

   Take a look at the GIF attached and the file.

   I select the magenta square and use Select > Inverse to select everything but the square.
   It select the circles, the black one and the white one (inside of Radial Repeat) — all correct.

   Now I try Select > Inverse one more time, expecting to get the opposite result, only the magenta square selected.
   But the Radial Repeat object stays selected.
   It must not.

   These applies to other repeat types as well.

2. Spot channel percentage reduction after Envelope or Effect > Warp > Arc is applied to a DeviceN Transparent Single Ink Image

   My client embeds raster PSDs that include an additional spot channel and applies pre-distortion to them using Envelope or Effect > Warp > Arc. When the PSD is embedded, the spot channel becomes a Transparent Single Ink Image in the DeviceN color space with an alpha channel.

   After applying Envelope or Warp > Arc, the spot channel percentage is multiplied by the alpha channel value, while the alpha channel itself remains in the image. The result is a significant reduction in the effective spot ink coverage.
   In the attached example, a 50% spot in the original becomes 25% after the operation.

   Steps to reproduce
   1. Create a PSD containing a spot channel set to 50% and saved with transparency.
   2. Embed the PSD into the document so the spot channel is represented as a Transparent Single Ink Image in DeviceN with an alpha channel.
   3. Apply Envelope or Effect > Warp > Arc to the embedded PSD.
   4. Inspect Acrobat Output Preview > Separations and compare the spot channel percentage before and after the effect.

   Actual result
   The spot channel percentage is multiplied by the alpha channel value during the Envelope or Warp operation, while the alpha channel remains present in the image. This reduces the visible spot ink amount. Example: 50% spot becomes 25% in the post-effect image.

   Expected result
   A spot channel percentage should be retained regardless of the Envelope/Arc effect applied.

   Technical notes
   • The embedded spot channel is exported as a Transparent Single Ink Image in DeviceN with an alpha channel.
   • The problem appears to occur when geometric distortion is applied via Envelope or Effect > Warp > Arc.
   • Output Preview tools such as Acrobat Output Preview > Separations can be used to verify the discrepancy.

   Attachments
   I have attached a PDF that demonstrates the issue and includes the separations for convenience. Please compare the spot percentages in the original image and in the images after Envelope.

   Severity
   High for print accuracy and color separation workflows. This leads to incorrect ink percentages on separations and can cause production color failures.

3. Brush Increase / Decrease Diameter Size vs Stroke Weight

   Basically in Adobe Illustrator, just like other programs including Photoshop, there is the shortcut, Left and Right brackets ([ & ]) for increasing and decreasing brush strokes. However, one thing that is annoying for Adobe Illustrator is that when using the brackets for adjusting the size of the brush, the size of the brush does in fact increase, but the stroke stays the same.
   The screenshot below shows a stroke of 1, but the circle size of the brush is much MUCH larger. The brush stroke size should be constrained to the stroke size. This may not seem like much of a problem, but if I wanted to use the Eyedropper for matching the stroke size and color, it will not show the actual brush size, but the actual stroke (a stroke of 1 in this example). Essentially the original stroke size I used was completely unaccounted since the stroke still reads 1 and I would have to guess the brush size I used.

4. Illustrator v30.0 thinks file isn't saved, right after saving it

   On some (but not all) files, Illustrator v30.0 will immediately add an asterisk to the name of the file in the tab, even though I have not made any changes to the file. If I save the file and then try to close the file, I am prompted to save the file again, despite having just saved it.

   I just tested the exact same file in v30.0, v29.8.2 and v28.7.2, using MacOS 15.5 on a Studio M2 Max:

   -I am saving the file to the desktop
   -I have all settings related to "save in background" under "File Handling" turned OFF

   In v30.0 and 29.8.2 the asterisk appears immediately after saving the file. I don't even need to touch the keyboard or mouse.
   In v28.7.2 it does not, and works normally.

   Any thoughts?

5. Saving a PDF with All Printer’s Marks only works twice

   Hello,
   I'm using version 30.0 on a PC.

   I need to save my files for printing as PDFs with crop marks. When I check the "All Printer’s Marks" option and save as a PDF, it works the first time, but the second time, and always on the third, I get an error message. This error message says, "This document was saved successfully, but an error occurred after saving. Close and then reopen the document."
   I then have to close Illustrator and reopen everything, giving me two opportunities to save new PDF documents with print marks. Then, on the third document, the same thing happens again; I have to close Illustrator, and so on.

   This is a very annoying problem for my work. Am I the only one experiencing this? I didn't have this problem in previous versions. It must be a bug.

6. Gradient panel is stuck

   When I open the colors, it works fine, but if I click on the gradient, the panel moves to the top of the screen, where I am unable to move it or even change it back to a solid color.

8. Blob Brush doesn't respect "Draw inside" when painting with a color existing outside

   I included a picture to explain the problem.
   If the user intentionally chooses to draw inside a shape, then that limit should be respected. but instead, if we are painting with a color that exists outside, new strokes merges with the older ones, resulting on the painting escaping the "draw inside" feature.

   I think that the blob Brush merging should be less aggressive and should respect masks, otherwise it's not intuitive and goes against user input, which qualifies this to be a bug.

9. File New dialog is invisible with two monitors

   When i click the "New" button in the homepage, the window that has all the settings to create a new document is invisible, it doesn't appear, but the arrow of my mouse shows me that it can interact with the window, but it doesn't show. I use another monitor and i have found online that illustrator tends to have bugs while having a second monitor.

10. Moving several points of an area type or type on path causes "undo"

    I am no longer able to move multiple anchor points for text on a path in v30 (GPU mode).
    I'm using a Studio M2 Max with MacOS 15.5..

    The attached video demonstrates this behavior. I have two duplicate paths. While using "View using GPU" I try to edit multiple nodes on the text path. What happens is:

    1. the preview of the path disappears while I'm trying to move the nodes.
    2. the entire line moves, even though I've only selected a few nodes.
    3. my type was replaced with the "Lorem Ipsum" text (this happens intermittently, not every time).

    But, when I switch to "View using CPU" the program functions normally.

    This is something I do very frequently, and I typically have GPU mode on, so this is a new behavior.

    I tested this on other installed versions of Illustrator:

    On v29.8.2 I am able to move multiple nodes, but the preview of the path still disappears while you're moving it. Switching to CPU mode corrects that.

    On v.28.7.2 Everything works normally, both in GPU and CPU modes.

    Edit: After posting this, I now believe that this might be related to the setting "Real-Time Drawing and Editing". Turning that off "seems" to fix things (for both v30 and v29).

    But it should be noted, in 28.7.2 I CAN keep "Real-Time Drawing and Editing" enabled AND use GPU mode and everything functions fine.

11. Files not saved properly with incorrect display

    Since we started working with Adobe Illustrator 30, we have encountered various files, both saved as ai and pdf, that display a different and incorrect image in the preview. As a result, our printing software also opens and processes these incorrectly, resulting in incorrect printing.
    When we reopen and resave the file, it is fine.
    For the time being, we have gone back to Adobe Illustrator 29, because we can no longer rely on our print file in this way.

12. Libraries Panel Freeze & Distortion Glitch

    Persistent issue occurring on operating system: macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 with model: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)
    Occasionally occurring up on brand new computer macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 with model: MacBook Pro (16-in, 2025)
    Both computers are on Adobe Illustrator Version: 30.0 (issue also occurred on 29.6.1)

    Steps to Reproduce:
    - Launch Adobe Illustrator.
    - Open the Libraries panel (Window > Libraries).
    - Work in Illustrator for a period of time (issue does not occur immediately but happens consistently enough throughout day to interrupt working ability).
    - Attempt to interact with the Libraries panel.

    Expected Result: The Libraries panel should display correctly and allow selection of assets.

    Actual Result: The Libraries panel graphic stretches vertically and becomes disproportionate. Items in the panel are no longer selectable. The only temporary fix is quitting Illustrator and reopening it, but the issue eventually returns. Typically occurs 10-15 times a day on this computer.

    Summary of Troubleshooting Attempts:
    - Verified issue persists across Illustrator versions (29.6.1 and 30.0).
    - Cleared Creative Cloud Libraries cache (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Creative Cloud Libraries/ contents).
    - Cleared Illustrator-specific cache (ILST and LIBS folders).
    - Cleared CoreSync cache (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/ contents).
    - Relaunched Creative Cloud Desktop and Illustrator.
    - Disabled GPU Performance in Illustrator preferences.
    - Verified Creative Cloud and Illustrator are up to date.
    - Issue persists after all steps.

    Additional Notes:
    - Problem began on the 2021 computer after upgrading to macOS Sequoia (did not occur on previous macOS version).
    - Occurs on all macs updated to Sequoia; we have 3 others we decided to hold off on because of this issue.
    - Other Adobe apps do not exhibit this behavior at this point.

14. Placed .ai artboards drop graphic elements randomly. This is disgusting for printers

    The screenshot shows the placed artboards from - top row: .ai artboards, bottom row: pdf artboards. The circled portions show logos were dropped from the artwork arbitrarily.

    When the .ai file is opened normally, it displays correctly - but not when placed.

    This is a separate issue from placed artwork not displaying transparencies accurately.

    This is supposed to be a professional level program and printing bugs are getting to be too much and costing my company too much in unnecessary reprints. PLEASE FIX.

15. Thumbnails glitching when saved

    Randomly, when files and thumbnails are saved out of Illustrator, the resulting thumbnails are glitched in a variety of ways. This glitch is present in the preview in the Finder window, but upon opening the file again, the glitch is not present. This is not from appearances or overprint being applied to artwork elements, as we are familiar with the issues those settings present in a print production environment, and this is a separate issue.

    • Running on a MacBook Pro, 2021, running Sequoia 15.0.
    • Using Illustrator 30.0.
    • The issue occurs when Illustrator saves a file or thumbnail, randomly, without any indicators that it's going to happen.
    • The preview of the file and the thumbnails of the file should match exactly how the file appears in Illustrator, but the saved -preview and thumbnails appear glitched in some way.

    A) In the orange file example, the file is saved exactly as shown in screenshot A1. The thumbnail and preview of the file were saved with elements duplicated and scaled differently from the actual file and how the actual file appears when reopened—screenshot A2 and A3. I do not have the original file with the issue to attach.

    B) In the Super Collagen file, the file was saved exactly as shown in screenshot B1. The thumbnail and preview of the file were saved with multiple elements missing and without the background elements—screenshot B2.

    C) In the Smooth Current Serum file, the file was saved exactly as shown in screenshot C1. The thumbnail and preview of the file were saved with a previous version of the "SMOOTH" text overlapping the actual text in the artwork. This old version had 3 "O's" in the text, but was DELETED/removed from the file. Yet it saved over top of the corrected version in the thumbnail and preview, even though this "SMOOOTH" text had been deleted PRIOR to saving the file.

    These issues cause huge problems in a production environment when the thumbnails are used for proofing and the software saving out the thumbnails cannot be trusted to accurately represent the artwork. I have screenshots and files for about 15 additional documented instances of this thumbnail/preview glitch occurring.

    Everyone - we want some more information about this issue.

    Is any export (PNG) done from Illustrator for any such (glitched preview) files showing the same thumbnail issue or not?

    Or, is the issue happening only with the thumbnail of the file as seen in the Mac / Win folder preview or while placing into another application?

16. Deleting colors from Swatches panel crashes Illustrator

    In Illustrator 2026, 30.0, on a Mac running 15.6.1, any time I go to delete a swatch, any swatch, any number of swatches, it immediately crashes the program. I reset preferences and nothing changed...still crashes. Started a new file in case there was something going on with the old one, still crashes.

17. Variable Google Fonts reset to minimum weight on file open in Illustrator

    Issue Description:

    When opening files in Adobe Illustrator, the program incorrectly handles Google Fonts variable families that use floating weight values (variable wght axis). All text elements that were assigned specific weight values (e.g., 400, 500, 600) are automatically reset to the minimum weight value after reopening the file. As a result, all text switches to the thinnest available style in the variable font.

    Expected Behavior:

    Illustrator should correctly save and restore the numeric values of variable font axes (in this case, the wght axis) and display text exactly with the weight settings assigned before saving.

    Actual Behavior:

    After reopening the document, all text objects using Google variable fonts lose their assigned weight values and revert to the lowest/minimal value of the wght axis. Visually this appears as if all text changes to the “thin” style of the family.
    This breaks the typographic hierarchy and causes layout shifts, making the file unusable without manual correction.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    • Latest Illustrator release (Windows).
    • Use any Google Fonts variable family (e.g., with a wght axis).
    • Assign different weight values within the same variable family to text objects.
    • Save the file, close it, then reopen it.
    • All weights revert to the minimum value.

    Impact:

    The design opens with damaged typography. All weight settings must be restored manually, which is time-consuming and may cause inconsistencies or visual artifacts.

    Issue Description:

    When opening files in Adobe Illustrator, the program incorrectly handles Google Fonts variable families that use floating weight values (variable wght axis). All text elements that were assigned specific weight values (e.g., 400, 500, 600) are automatically reset to the minimum weight value after reopening the file. As a result, all text switches to the thinnest available style in the variable font.

    Expected Behavior:

    Illustrator should correctly save and restore the numeric values of variable font axes (in this case, the wght axis) and display text exactly with the weight settings assigned before saving.

18. I can't save anything in Illustrator in SVG format

    I tested save any object in Illustrator in format SVG, but after many minutes Illustrator shows a window saying it can't save because of the mistake problem. I tested in the last version and the previous version, I cant save in SVG, I need this...

19. Illustrator Flickering/Losing Focus when Clicking Quickly (Both CPU/GPU Modes)

    Illustrator flickers when clicking quickly (or just in general) both when using GPU rendering and CPU only rendering (see attached files). It seems to lose focus on Illustrator and I can see whatever background applications I am using (e.g. Google Chrome). The problem happens in both fullscreen and windowed mode.
