Glyph
Weird Glyph problem going on. Basically we have registered "R"s on our artworks, and on some occasions the glyph is applying superscript to the superscript "R" making it half the size it should be. Font is Gotham Medium using CC 2018 macOS High Sierra, Suitcase Fusion. Even weird that its changing when I scoll around the artwork to the smaller "R"? any ideas as I'm lost. This was happening also in CC 2017

Type object selection by path does not work at all while snap to grid is enabled.

All Typekit fonts unavailable
All of a sudden Typekit stopped working through Illustrator/Photoshop. I cannot open the CC app on my desktop either. I cannot uninstall it nor reinstall it as none of these functions will work. I am effectively frozen out of my desktop CC app and typekit. When I access Typekit via the webpage it shows my snyced fonts but I cannot access them on my desktop (PC). Font Size resets to 12pt when new font family is chosen
Changing font face also changes font size.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Select text with text selector tool
2. Select a new font face from the font face drop down menuExpected results: font face changes while all other font properties remain the same.
Actual result: font face and font size properties change.

Variable font remains static
I've been working on various variable fonts, which, while there are sometimes are some GPU rendering issues in Illustrator, work as expected.
However, my last creation remains static while changing the variable (see example). The font variation works perfectly in online environments, it's only in Adobe apps that this seems to be an issue.

Font selection not working

Glyph rendering bug with bitmap OT-SVG fonts
Glyphs that consist of a single-colored bitmap image are not rendered in text frames nor in the Glyphs panel.
When we start using them within a text frame, they also break the rendering of all subsequent characters (they disappear).
To reproduce, enter the character "m" in the attached AI file.

Gradient stroke & fill can no longer be seen when applied to editable type
No so much of as an idea as a rendering bug, the idea would be to fix it.

Versions CC2018 will not render the Gradient stroke & fill, just renders as black.1 voteI went to appearance panel and was able to apply gradients to type using fill and strokes.

Slow Type Performance
I just recently updated to 22.1 running on Windows 10. I have a list of names that was copied from two columns (first name, last name) that was copied from an Excel spreadsheet. I'm trying to remove the tabs between the columns and replace them with spaces. Once I hit the backspace key it takes approximately 5 seconds to perform the backspace and another couple of seconds to add the space. This is a list of several hundred names so it is unmercifully crippling. Other operations outside of type are somewhat laggy but not nearly as bad. I cleared out…

- Editing existing type.
- The ability to actually see what I'm typing.
- Almost always there is no text refresh when editing text. You have to drag the text or otherwise alter it so that Illustrator is forced to refresh so you can see changes you make.
I'm using a new iMac Pro High Sierra. Please fix the bug!

Restart every 1 min to fix a bug – Illustrator Font Panel Bug
Adobe Illustrator always show the default font Myriad Pro no matter which typeface/font you are using. Also Fonts and weights that you are using disappear from the dropdown of the font.
The only way of fixing it is to restart illustrator every 1 min.

Font increase/decrease arrows in character panel immediately closes character panel
Select text in an art board, when the character panel appears in the properties panel, and you then try and click/hold the text size arrows, they don't work and instantly close the character panel. Feels like a bug because I was able to use this workflow before to adjust the size of properly selected text.

Illustrator refusing to show fonts in character search when typing with no drop down, illustrator cc 2018
Changing font by clicking in the character search bar doesn't bring up the drop down or show the font changing... it's acting really buggy

Emoji rendering issues
- Some emojis like 🎉or 😟show up as two undefined glyphs when pasted from the clipboard.
- However, the 😟 will show up when inserted from the Glyphs palette.
To replicate, simply copy/paste these emojis on a text using the Apple Color Emoji font.

text handling still a mess in 22.1
Text handling in the 22.1 build - meaning the interactions between the Paragraph, Character, Paragraph Styles, and Character Styles panels - is still fraught with bugs and/or undesired oddity compared to previous versions. (2015.3 being the last completely -- or mostly -- working version.)
Open Illustrator 22.1 (Windows) and create a new blank document.
Draw a text box and fill it with placeholder text.
Create a new paragraph style (‘body text’) and set the font, size, and leading to something different from the default. (e.g. font: 10pt Avenir LT Std Book, 16pt leading).

In Illustrator CC (Latest version and several previous) on Mac:
- BUG 1: Copying text with a Paragraph and/or Character Style applied and pasting it into a new text box adds a "+" to the end of every applied style, effectively breaking every bit of formatting that has been done. Text size is not the same size as I set it
How do I get illustrator cc 18 which I pay per month for, to apply text size the same size on the monitor as I pick in the layout?? If I put in for instance .50 size text it will be approx. .375 on the monitor or my layout. This is aggravating. It is something I am doing wrong or HOW DO I CORRECT THIS SO IT WILL BE THE SAME SIZE AS I CHOOSE. THANKS Jerry L. Evans Kokomo, Indiana. I had illustrator 6 on disk I purchased and had no problems like this.

New text box appearing on clicking in current text box
When you click in a text box with the type tool, it'll create a new text box unless you click on the actual word you want to modify. Or if you are trying to add something to the end of your text and click like a millimeter off the letter, it'll create a new text box.
This is super annoying and I'm not quite sure why this function is necessary. It didn't use to be like this until the last update. Please look at this for the next update for those who use a lot of text in Illustrator.
