1. Freeform gradient fill disappears after outline stroke

   1. Windows 10 Pro version 1809 OS build 17763.475 running Illustrator 23.0.3
   2. Make a shape. Fill it with a freeform gradient. Add a stroke. Use Object > Path > Outline Stroke.
      
   3. The stroke should be converted to a path and the fill should be untouched.
   4. When the stroke was converted to a path, the freeform gradient fill disappeared.

2. Illustrator 22.0.1 Crash on Startup when Signed In on Windows with a Microsoft account

   Adobe Illustrator version 22.0.1 (x32-bit) crashes on startup on any user profile logged in with a Microsoft account.

   It works fine on the PC across local user accounts, but as soon as the local account is converted to a profile linked to a Microsoft account, that's it. No more Illustrator.

3. persistent selection and precision issues...and Adobe doesn't seem to give a f*ck

   I used to love Illustrator, now, I HATE it. Since the switch to CC, it's been problematic and buggy and nothing ever seems to get fixed. In fact, the entire program has gotten worse over time and it's obvious that Adobe doesn't give a **** about their customers.

   The overall lack of precision and the issues with the selection tools are driving me insane. I have to repeat movements numerous times and/or have to zoom in hundreds or thousands of percent to do complete the simplest of tasks...like scaling or adjusting width/height. Illustrator rotates the shape instead, or randomly switches the selection tool to the direct selection tool when attempting to manipulate the object.

   And what happened to all 9 of the selection points on objects....say I have a skinny, horizontal rectangle and I want to adjust the width. The middle selection point has vanished and I have to zoom in, interrupting my work flow, to do the simple task. I've been using this program since the 90s. This i
   has just been this way the past few versions of Illustrator.

   I hate using this program now. It literally makes me angry because it has become such a frustrating cluster*ck. And these issues are just the tip of the iceberg.

   I'm paying a premium for an inferior product/service because Adobe has a virtual monopoly. As soon as any real competitor comes along, I'm out.

   Fcking do something about this piece of ***. Stop adding bells and whistles and fix the issues that have been plaguing the program for years. The type tool, for one glaring example, has been terrible for a decade.

4. "Recent files" shows the thumbnail of a password protected PDF file.

   I expect to not see the thumbnail of a password protected file. Maybe just have a lock image like in the OS?

5. Panning with Space bar stuck

   Moving with pan on space bar glitches into stuck hand closed — won't release until you double click again.
   Line at 64k has multiple artifacts.

6. Mutiple profiles & Artboards

   Illustrator Version: CC 2019 (23.0.3)
   Mac: Mojave (10.14.2) 5k 27" 32gb Ram

   Firstly there are 3 Film & Video profile dropdowns (1. Film & Video, 2. Film and Video, 3. Video and Film). Not sure why.

   No matter what general preset I use or artboard size preset I choose I get 2 artboards.

   1 artboard is the correct size and the other is basically the complete canvas area.

   I am constantly having to delete the 2nd artboard.

   Can I stop this from happening?

7. Can't open a second illustrator file by double clicking

   If I double click on a .ai file to launch illustrator and work on that file immediately, everything works fine. but if, after that, I try to do the same with a second or third .ai file, they won't open. the only way to open multiple files is to first launch illustrator (without double clicking an existing file) and then open the .ai files I want to work on.

   it is very annoying and it has been reported many times, but adobe claims to have fixed it with the latest version (23.0.3) which is not true.

8. Illustriator does not always open files (Windows 10)

   Problem:
   Illustriator does not always open files (Windows 10)

   Don't works:
   Illustrator is not open > Windows Explorer > right click on file > open file with > Illustrator opens first file, each further file is opened only with: "Drag and Drop", with open menu from Illustrator or when closing Illustrator

   Always works:
   Open Illustrator (empty) > Windows Explorer > right click on File > Open File with > Illustrator opens first file and each subsequent file

   Is this a bug or what do I have to do to make "Open file with" always work in Windows Explorer?

10. Illustrator CC2019 23.0.3 crashes on save ONLY WHEN connected to Internet

    Every time I attempt to save an Illustrator file, it freezes and I get the spinning wheel, to the point where I have to force quit. After I force quit and reopen, all my preferences are reset to default.

    I've attempted saving on Dropbox, iCloud, my external hard drive, and my local hard drive - it all freezes. The only time it doesn't freeze is when I disconnect from the Internet, and at that point I can save literally anywhere I want.

    This happens LITERALLY every single time. I've gotten to a point where whenever I work on Illustrator, I've had to just switch off Internet, which isn't very convenient as you can imagine.

    Specs:
    Illustrator CC 2019 (23.0.3)
    Macbook Pro Retina (15 in., mid-2015)
    macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
    Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Storage: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

11. Snap to point is not precise

    Snap to point is always pixels off, so "joining" doesn't work. Pen tool also won't connect to an anchor and will also be pixels off. Snap to point is turned on. Can't join points of lines and shapes to one another to make complete shape.

    If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

12. File menu and dialogue boxes black/invisible

    Since the most recent update, Illustrator will periodically loose the ability to display dialogue boxes and drop down menus. Drop down menus show black until I mouse over, and then the items show as I mouse over then. But the dialogue boxes remain invisible. I can "navigate" blindly sometimes and get my document to save without seeing what I'm clicking on (muscle memory, I suppose), but sometimes the whole program just crashes. This has been happening consistently over the past few weeks. 2-3 times a day.

    I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad 330 withWindows 10, using the most current release of Illustrator.

13. Align distribute center doesn't work

    Trying to use Align>Distribute center with Align to Selection selected - on a group of elements.

    Elements arent distributed symmetrically but seem to randomly distribute, some elements very close together and others very far apart. Same issue has been repeating since updating to 23.0.1. Working on MacOS Mojave 10.14.

    For example the attached 3 elements were aligned with horizontal center distribution, but the center object moved close to the left text block.

14. Weird Font punctuation behavior?

    Version: 23.0.6
    OS: 10.14.6

    I'm experiencing weird font behavior with the Merriweather typeface in Illustrator. It only happens for this typeface and only in Illustrator.

    When I try to type ' ," ' (comma + end quote), the spacing inexplicably condenses. When I switch fonts, the spacing goes back to normal. I don't have any special character or glyph settings to my knowledge.

    I tried the same type combo in other tools (Photoshop, XD, Sketch), and it works fine and looks normal. This only happens in Illustrator. Any ideas?

15. Illustrator CC Crashes In Tablet Mode

    Illustrator regularly crashes every couple of hours when my Spectre x360 is in tablet mode, also when using the HP Pen. Is anyone else getting this?

    Running Illustrator in power saving mode was suggested as a workaround, but it's still crashing.

16. colored paper no transparent PNG

    If I simulate colored paper for my canvas background I cannot export transparent PNGs anymore. This worked before just fine and I always used this technique to be able to work with white surfaces on a "invisible" colored background. When I link the Ai into Photoshop it ignores the background as it certainly should.

    The weirdest part about it is, that the PNG always has white background (custom background is off) in the export window despite my colored paper being white at all! As soon as I deactivate colored paper simulation, the PNG can be exported transparent again.

    I'm a pro, so don't tell me about any export mistake. This worked totally fine before and now it doesn't. So please just fix it and don't Adobe-talk me into "it's your fault after all - we can't do sh**".

17. 'could not complete package' message in Illustrator CC 2019

    Trying to package an illustrator file is met with 'could not complete package' message. No further explanation is provided. This is an inconsistent error, it seems more common when the file contains .eps links.

18. AI displays an error dialog on opening a file having STROKE OFFSET effect applied to a STRAY object

    Continue to get this error message even though I've uninstalled/reinstalled every CC product including the loader app. Then there's an additional message, "An error occurred while processing the appearance of an object." It happens when switching out from outline mode, also when copying multiple items and then trying to paste them.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

20. Embedding illustrator files creates bigger artwork than original

    I use a lot old (or not that old) artwork into some new client jobs (eg: a logo or a background for a new project for consistency purposes) and sometimes embedding prior illustrator files in illustrator creates bigger artwork than original. (when I mean bigger is size i'm talking about. eg.: a square in original file was 10x10mm and when embedded gets 13x13mm)

    It happens only when embedding and the only workaround is using flatten transparency.

    I still don't know what exactly triggers this issue as it happens with seemingly random files.
