  1. illustrator 2021 won't open large files created in 2020 version

    Opening large files created in the 2020 version gives a message " Illustrator could partially read this file. We recovered as much of the file as possible, but some content might be missing. Open to view the recovered file."

    Any file with multiple layers or artboards only shows one artboard and layers are missing. The weird thing is the preview shows the full file and artboards, they just won't open.

    Is anyone else having this problem? I've found that if you install illustrator 2020 and open it there it usually works (although not always)

  2. Text Objects not appear in other PC with the same fonts installed

    When I open the same saved .ai file in another PC with the same cloud account and Ilustrator, the files do not show the content of text boxes . I'm using windows 10

  3. Lenteur Illustrator 2021 et incapacité d'ouvrir les fichiers

    Bonjour, je travaille sur PC (Windows 10). Depuis la mise à jour (version 2021) , l'ouverture d'Illustrator est extrêmement lente. Ce matin, aucun fichier ne s'ouvre. J'ai redémarré mon pc à plusieurs reprises, désinstaller et réinstaller Illustrator. Rien n'y fait.

  4. The selection list of Zoom levels has commas instead of decimals

    At the bottom left of the interface where Zoom level is displayed and can be selected, the values that should have decimals (ie. 66.67%, 33.33%, 16.67%, etc.) have commas instead. When those values are selected the Zoom level doesn't recognize the comma, so it just zooms to 6667%, 3333%, 1667%, etc. which is obviously not expected or useful.

  5. View using GPU not functioning on document after updating to version (25.2.1)

    MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
    2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    OS: OS X
    Version: 10.15
    System Architecture: x64
    Built-In Memory: 16384 MB

    GPU Info:
    Illustrator Version: 25.2.1
    Number of Displays: 1
    Number of Drivers: 2
    Driver[0] Name: Intel Iris Pro Graphics
    Driver[0] Adapter RAM: 1536
    Driver[1] Name: AMD Radeon R9 M370X
    Driver[1] Adapter RAM: 2048
    DefaultEnableGPU: 1

    Document defaults to CPU preview, the View using GPU option is grayed out. I have opened the document in a previous version of Illustrator (24.3) GPU display works fine.

  6. Lost file even though the Automatic Save Recovery is on

    Windows 10. 64 bit.
    Illustratoir 25.2.0

    The PC crashed in the middle of working. And the file disappeared. I can see a link to the file in the Recent documents of Windows Explorer, and in Recuva.
    But no file found.

    What's happening? How can I find the missing file?

  8. Beim Öffnen einer PDF werden Textzeilen in Pfade umgewandelt

    Meistens wenn ich eine PDF-Datei in Illustrator öffne, gibt es die Meldung, dass die Schrift in einen Pfad geändert wird. Jetzt habe ich herausgefunden, dass der Grund dafür ein Fehler mit Ligaturen ist. Wenn Ligaturen wie fl oder fi verwendet werden, kommt diese Meldung.
    Es scheint, dass Illustrator die speziellen Glyphen nicht erkennen kann. Wenn keine Ligaturen in der PDF-Datei vorkommen, öffnet Illustrator diese problemlos und der Text ist editierbar.

  9. Unable to highlight values in Properties panel > Transform

    I am unable to hightlight any values with the mouse cursor that are contained in the textbox fields within the Properties Panel > Transform e.g. Width or Height.

    Using latest version of Windows 10 and Illustrator 2021 (Desktop).

  11. can't highlight width and height cells or file name when creating a new document

    Why did you take away the ability to easily highlight the document name, width or height when creating a new file? Super irritating.

  12. Please remove the "The document [name] is currently getting saved. It will be closed after the save is complete." dialog

    Or at least make that optional. It's a common practice to Command-S, Command-W, and now it's an extra step to hit "ok". If you don't click okay (or press enter), it just hangs there, not doing anything until you get rid of the dialog.

    Either make the dialog optional, or handle it like InDesign, where the dialog disappears when the file is saved and then the window closes.

    SO annoying with 2020 AI

    Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .

  13. Pencil Tool creating too many anchor points

    I'm drawing over path with the pencil tool (Wacom tablet)
    Older version of Illustrator was smoother more accurate and natural flowing. Now creates jagged lines.

  14. Illustrator 2021 - Restart Illustrator to auto-recover files doesn't work

    Illustration 2021 25.0.1 version constantly crashing.

    On restarting Illustrator app auto-recovery process doesn't work - It doesn't open up the unsaved files with the Recovered suffix as on previous versions.

  15. No me permite guardar el archivo como pdf o imagen solo guarda como Ai

    Al momento de querer guardar cualquier archivo en cualquier formato solo se forma un documento sin temporal .tmp ya he intentado generar un archivo nuevo y guardarlo desde ese y tampoco ha funcionado la versión que manejo es Adobe Illustrator 2021 25.0.1 simultaneamente tengo la versión 2018 y no me da problemas

  16. Auto Spellcheck Squiggly does not go away when adding a word to dictionary...

    The red squiggly that appears under words when auto-spell check is enabled does not automatically go away when you add the word to the dictionary. If you edit the text somewhere afterwards, it looks like auto spell check is ran again, and only then is the squiggly removed.

  19. Distribute spacing value field doesn't show units anymore

    The field used to show units (like '50 mm') in version 23.
    In 24 it says just '50' with no 'mm' after.
    If you type in your own unit, it won't recalculate in current units, as every other field in AI can do.

  20. Scale Stroke & Effects not working with Symbols in Scale Window

    The Scale Strokes & Effects checkbox in the Scale Window doesn't work with Symbols.

    You have to enable/disable Scale Strokes & Effects before entering the Scale dialog to get it to work with symbols.
