1. Unable to skew individual words/letters in type

   In previous versions of illustrator, you were able to skew individual words/letters from the character menu. That option has been replaced by an option to rotate.

   Distorting highlighted text distorts the whole box of type. The font I'm working with does not have and italics and I need this option to italicize specific words.

   I am using 23.0.6 on a mac with OS Mojave 10.14.6.

   I'm attaching screenshots of this feature in InDesign so you can see what this used to look like in illustrator, as well as a screenshot of the new character panel in illustrator where it's missing. I've also included a screenshot from InDesign that shows what I'm trying to do.

2. Very glitchy Free Transform tool

   This sure can't be right - I can't always get this to occur, but when it does happen, it's super annoying. When scaling using the Free Transform tool, there's this choppiness that doesn't allow me to control the scaling. Right now, my best work around is to enter dimension values in the Control Palette rather than use this tool at all. In the video the choppiness during the text object's decrease in size is where I'm undoing the scaling. I don't know if that helps, but maybe it will help to know that the choppy scaling is done in steps rather than in one smooth motion. I'm using the tool without letting go of it, so there should be no time when the tool stops scaling. Please fix!

   Illustrator version 23.0.6

3. Type size shortcut doesn't work

   Cmd + shift + > for enlarging the type doesn't work both on my Illustrator & Photoshop.

   For reducing the size, it works well. (cmd+shift+<) I did reset both of them, and it fix the problem just a while before it's coming back.

4. GPU Issue in Touch Mode on Surface Pro (2017)

   Hello,
   I have been having a repeated issue with Illustrator leaving checkerboard artifacts onscreen when drawing in Touch Mode on my Surface Pro. After drawing for a while, Illustrator will crash. I've included a clip displaying the artifacts I'm talking about.

   A related issue happens at random when drawing, where the outline will display in red while I'm drawing it, then the line won't actually get drawn. Sometimes when selecting or scaling objects they will similarly display the scale happening, but then nothing actually happens. Usually Illustrator crashes after that.

5. v23.0.6 Freezing when opening file

   Frequently Illustrator has been freezing when attempting to open recently created Illustrator files. These files can be created or modified from any recent version of Illustrator (versions for 2018 and 2019), but only seem to freeze when opened with Illustrator v23.0.6. The files seemingly will open just fine on v23.0.4 or below (I did not test every version, but I can verify that v23.0.4 works and checked on 2 versions of v22.xx.xx). The freezing occurs irregardless of the computer's operating system (Windows or Mac). It doesn't freeze on all files—but I don't know what variables are causing it. The files it has been freezing on all have one linked .ai file inside of them, 1–3 fonts, and various symbols stored in the document's Symbols library. Strangely, if you don't quit Illustrator, you can reopen the file just fine after saving, but once you quit Illustrator and try again after a few minutes later the file won't reopen until you use v23.0.4 or below.

6. guide color

   Under Preferences > Guides and Grid I have the Guides as Magenta and Grid as Red... everything is gray... I can't see the selections or any grid lines

7. Performance is hindered

   Working on illustrator- have it set for 2 hours working time. At 15 minutes, the computer will log me out and force me to log back in to my illustrator file. I use High Sierra OS, Creative Cloud 2019.

8. Object's "Appearance" is stuck

   Have been working with the functionality of the Appearance window with great success for quite a while. Today, for no apparent reason, almost every new object I create (from any drawing tool) inherits one of the Appearance attributes that I had previous assigned to a different object. Let's say that I created a line and then applied an Appearance in which I added an additional stroke. Great. Normally, I if I start a brand new object with any of the drawing tools, the new object would have the default stroke and fill features. Not any more. Now, every object I draw has the Appearance features I defined previously. But here's the weird part... If I look at the Properties ribbon or at the fill and stroke color pickers, it doesn't show the object having those Appearance properties - it just shows the default values. Moreover, if I open the Appearance window, it also does not show that any new appearance attributes have been assigned. Very weird. I thought that maybe I had accidentally defined a new Brush or a new Graphic Style and accidentally applied them, but they both seem to be typical default values. I've updated, shut-down & rebooted, but no luck. Even the stroke weight is wrong. Bizarro.

9. Illustrator window resizing problem

   My work window in Illustrator has a peculiar problem when I want to resize the window, after clicking in the bottom right corner the window grows much bigger (off screen) and so I have to resize the window even more than normal and my cursor as I do than is sort of on the middle of the screen and not on the corner as normal. Very strange. Only happens in Illustrator when Application Frame is turned off (which is the way I prefer).

10. Transformations committing even upon cancel

    Even MORE issues with latest version of Illustrator which are rendering it almost unusable for me. When using one of the transformation dialog boxes (Move, Rotate, Scale etc) if the preview option is selected, as you change the numerical values to see what the effect might be, it commits each of those changes. Even if you CANCEL out of the dialog box it will have made the transformations to your object and you have to make multiple undos to get back to your starting point.

    Found the same issue with the Free Transform Tool, it commits changes in little stages before even you've released the modifier keys on the keyboard and again, you have to make multiple undos to get back to where you were.

    This makes any simple task now take 5 times as long to achieve and is making me avoid Illustrator in favour of similar tools in InDesign etc

    Please revert the functionality of these basic tools back to a working version.

12. Misaligned patterns on SVG import

    When opening an SVG file, pattern fills are incorrectly offset on both x and y axis.

    An inconvenient workaround is to reapply the pattern (Select shape, select pattern swatch). This will then position the pattern correctly.

    It would be great if the pattern was correctly positioned on file load.

    Tested on Windows 10. Illustrator 23.0.6 64bit

14. Flatten Transparency Bug in v 23.0.6

    When using Flatten Transparency in v23.0.6 on MacBook Pro 2.6GHz i7 iOS Mojave 10.14.6 with 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 ram, Nothing seems to be happening for several minutes. All of the drop down menus are grayed out, and it doesn't even get to the flatten transparency settings dialog box.

15. BUG? CC Color Library: Not Applied or Freezing

    When I select an object and tried to color it from my CC library colrs - it doesn't apply to the shape/font - if I right click on a color in the CC library Panel, the panel freezes for a moment and disappears.

16. Giant Font Menu in Secondary Monitor

    Using an external/secondary monitor off of a Surface Pro 6. The Font Menu is so big it's unusable. Works fine on the main display, but gets like this on the second monitor.

    Trying to use Javascript textFonts.getByName() throws Illustrator error 1430996551. Stopped working on some machines out of the blue, without any Illustrator update. Still works on at least one mac in the studio (same Illustrator version as on other computers).

18. Measurement labels is not showing properly (Smart Guide)

    Hello,

    I found a bug that is not showing measurement labels properly on a specific environment.

    in Windows 10 Pro Korean,
    English version of Illustrator CC is not showing measurement labels properly (it just shows a narrow gray box, no text at all inside of the box).

    When I install Korean version of Illustrator CC, it shows the measurement labels properly. I think this causes because of the font issues or Windows local system.

    I hope this bug is going to be fixed as soon as possible.

19. Image Trace panel greys out on existing traced object

    CC2019 v23.0.6

    After tracing an object, the Image Trace panel is greyed out. The only way to 'activate' the options is to switch views in the Control Bar a couple of times. It's arbitrary and annoying.
