Illustrator 2018 Artboard Problem
Every time I try to add a new artboard or rearrange existing artboards it causes Illustrator to freeze and I have to force quit. This was not a problem in Ai2017, please fix.

It does not highlight the page on the artboard window
I select a page from the artboard window. I navigate between pages with PageUp and PageDown on the keyboard.
I'm looking at the artboard window. but I do not see which page I am on. it does not highlight the page.
This problem came with the latest update. (Ullustrator version 22.0.0)

Image Trace only creates a white box
The "Image Trace" function only creates a solid white box, regardless of what image trace option I select.

Illustrator 2018 Crashes
I have Surface Studio, 32 Gig, Windows 10. Today I installed the CC Updates and now Illustrator crashes every 2 or 3 minutes. I uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled it, but the crashes continue. Finally in desperation I uninstalled Illustrator 2018 and reinstalled Illustrator 2017. At least now Illustrator is stable.
I sure would like to know what to do to fix the problem. You know it wouldn't be a bad idea if one could reach support with install problems.

ブラックの色をドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100の色がリッチブラックになる
塗り（または線）を画像のように下のブラックを選択するところからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100がリッチブラックになってしまった。 ドラッグ＆ドロップではなく、クリックで色を選ぶとBK100になる。スウォッチの中に入っているブラックからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100になる。これはCS6の時からある バグです。

Can't see anchor point and handles of paths after breaking link to symbol.
- Version 21.1.0
- Draw the circle or any other simple shape, convert it to symbol then break link to symbol. Choose Direct selection tool and click on any anchor point. As result you will not see the handles of any point. The handles are shown only in isolation mode or outline mode but not in basic prewiew mode.

Large Amounts of Text overrun text area, disregard justification
I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).
I am creating a 6'x4' poster, where a single text box holds the entire text of the Bible (~730,000 words) as a single string of text (regular spaces between words, but no paragraph returns) in Helvetica Neue Lt Std, 107 Extra Bold Condensed, 3 pt size with 2.7 pt leading, all caps, full justification, default hyphenation. I am using a text wrap around a compound object with a transparent fill to create a negative space in the midst of this text block (in my case, that compound object is text converted to a shape, so…9 votesThanks for reporting this bug Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

Appearance items below get expanded / unfurled when anything changes in the panel
Assign many fills to a path using Appearance.
Do anything with anything in the panel: change a color, assign an effect, add another fill.Fills below the current one get unfurled.
These could be fills just below the current view of the panel, 'below the fold', as one of the attached GIFs show, or all the fills below the last unique one, as in the second GIF.
I’d test more, but the fact we can’t collapse all the items in the Appearance panel (which is possible with Opt/Alt in Layers!) makes me extremely irritated — so I made a request…

About the Pencil Tool and Image Tracing in version 2025
The accuracy of the path conversion for the pencil tool and image tracing has decreased in version 2025. Even if I change the settings to fine, it is converted to a coarse path, and I cannot express the details like in previous versions. Please improve it as soon as possible.

Can’t select an object under a locked object
I'd like to be able to work on an area that is under a locked layer.
Currently I can't select anything that is under it. Selection tools just want to select the object on top that it ain't allowed to select... Can't it ignore it? It is locked.Maybe there is a paramaeter somewhere about it, but I didn't find it so far.
Example of use : You have a reference image/object that you put on top with multiply or darken mode and some transparency.

Hitting Escape while editing a field does not cancel the value but applies it
I don’t know why nobody reports this...
If I input something in a field and I want to abort and return to the previous value, I hit Escape.Sometimes the first Escape closes the suggestions dropdown (like in browsers), and only the second one restores the previous value.
A LOT of apps follow this rule except browsers:
Affinity Designer, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, Blender...
Non-design ones too: MS Office, Google Docs, various text editors... A LOT.Some apps keep the value entered, but don’t apply it, and put the old one back when an object get reselected — Xara does it.

Aligning doesn’t work for groups with strange empty unselectable objects inside, imported from SVGs (originally made with Illustrator)
Several objects were made in Illustrator and exported to SVGs.
Later they were imported back into Illustrator.
Please take a look at both the GIF and the file atached.When one tries to select all the top-level groups and align them to left — it doesn’t work.
Aligning to center and to right works, but once these get aligned to right — aligning to center stops working too.When exploring layers, it’s clear that these groups have something else inside besides rectangles — but only in Layers, not on canvas. These can’t be selected or changed, only rearranged, renamed, deleted.

Objects from CC library placed in document, then embedded, do not respond logically to alignment commands.
I've encountered this on three different apple machines over 2 years. Currently:
1. macOS Monterey 12.7.5
2. Illustrator 28.5
3. Create graphic (ex. a logo) and add it to a CC Library. Place the Object in a new document. Embed it. Use direct select tool to select bounding box and delete it (so logo can be selected to change fill color, for example). Try to align object to either key object or artboard. It's likely the logo will move errantly left or right.
4. I expect align to work as with a normal (non library) object.

レイヤー名に改行コードが入っている場合、MacとWindowsでレイヤーパネルの表記が異なる。
macOS Ventura 13.6.3、Windows10／11
Illustrator ver.28.2（以前のバージョンも同様の挙動）1.テキストエディタ等から改行を含むテキストをコピーする。
2.Illustratorに移り、新規ドキュメントを開きレイヤーパネルを選択する。
3.レイヤー 1を選択しレイヤー名をダブルクリックするかダイアログを表示してレイヤー名にテキストエディター等でコピーした改行を含むテキストをペーストする。
4.Macでは改行がZWNBSのように扱われ表示されます。Windowsでは改行として扱われ改行以後が折り返され上部だけがかすかに見えます。期待する結果
プラットフォームが違ってもレイヤー名の表示がおなじになる。実際の結果
MacとWindowsでレイヤー名の表示が異なる。これはレイヤー名に改行コードが入ってしまうという特殊なケースでの挙動の違いです。しかし、レイヤー名をテキストエディタ等からコピーしてきてペーストするというシナリオは考えられることです。プラットフォームの違いで表示が異なるのは問題です。
理想を言えば、レイヤー名に改行が混ざっていた場合は改行コード自体をドロップしてしまうのが良いように思います。Windowsの折り返して読めない部分が生じるのはダメです。8 votes -
Inside / outside strokes get silently expanded when you create a pattern with them
Try these steps:
1. Create a shape (like ellipse or rectangle)
2. Make sure you have Inside or Outside option chosen for Align Stroke in the Stroke panel
3. Object > Pattern > Make (or drag the ellipse to the Swatches panel)
4. Check the contents of the pattern.
The stroke gets expanded!However, if you copy an object with an Inside / Outside stroke and paste it into the pattern — it doesn’t get expanded and stays live... until you commit editing — only then Ai warns you non-cnetered strokes will get expanded.
Perhaps Ai should drop a message…
