1. While shift-dragging objects green plus appears and picture clipping file is created.

   This issue is intermittent, but when shift-dragging an object in order to maintain vertical or horizontal position during movement, a green plus will appear next to the cursor and upon release, the object will snap back to its original position and refuse to be moved until you use the Cmd+Shft+B shortcut, which seems to clear it temporarily. However, if after that green plus appears you drag your cursor off-window to the desktop, a macOS picture clipping file is created. I have been unable to locate any settings for adjusting the behavior of mac's legacy clipping feature, so I'm hoping this can be solved on the Adobe side because it is infuriating.

2. GPU acceleration issue

   Adobe Illustrator have problem with GPU acceleration.

   Some of part of screen disapeared when move object.

   BUG tested on graphics card:

   GTX 1660
   RTX 3060 TI
   RTX 3080 TI
   Laptop Dell Latitude 5420 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

   Problem occurs on 2 situations:

   When trim view is enabled,
   When project have many object.
   Watch the attached movie.

   I think this is global problem which which affects all users.
   Tested on different AI versions.
   I think this bug occurs many, many time earlier.

   As per the confirmation by the original poster in the latest comment, the problem is gone.

3. need to fix control handles

   Handles have been broken for about 10 years now, time to fix them.
   Clicking on corner tool handle, making stuff rotate, trying to stretch one direction, then it stretching diagonally.

   Things like that should not be going wrong in software as old as illustrator.

4. AIT file does not open as a new AI file when opening from One Drive.

   I updated to Adobe Illustrator V26.0.3 today. And now AIT file opens as AIT file.

   It should open as a new AI file when opening from AIT file since it is a template.

   FYI, I am using MacBook Pro M1 2020, and MacOS Motley V.12.1.

   Doen anyone getting the same problem?

   After testing, I found out that this is happening when I open an AIT file from my One Drive folder.

   When I copied AIT file on my desktop, then it opened as a new AI file as it was used be.

   For more details, I am using One Drive App (V.22.002.0103.0004) which I recently updated on Jan-26-2022.

   I updated to Adobe Illustrator V26.0.3 today. And now AIT file opens as AIT file.

   It should open as a new AI file when opening from AIT file since it is a template.

7. Layer Arrow Disappears

   When collapsing sub-layers of a layer, the arrow to expand the sub-layers is no longer visible. Clicking the eye would restore the arrow, but this is a bug that should be fixed.

8. Drag and drop to place file sometimes embeds instead of linking

   When I drag and drop a JPG/PNG/PDF/AI file from Finder into an Illustrator document, it normally drops in as a link. However, sometimes it unexpectedly embeds the artwork instead of linking it. If I try again repeatedly, it continues to embed, so to fix it I have to go to File > Place and ensure that "Link" is selected (which it already is). After that, if I drag-and-drop from Finder again, it links the artwork as expected.

   This issue is seemingly random and I can't figure out exactly how to reproduce it. I always link files (not embed them) when I place them via File > Place or via drag-and-drop, so I don't know why it sometimes decides to embed.

9. Select Same Fill/Stroke Color ignores Compound Shapes

   Select > Same > Fill Color (and I assume the other related functions) ignores the color set for Compound Shapes (if it differs from the color of the original shapes used to create the Compound Shape). Even if you have one selected before triggering the function it refuses to select it. It is as if it cannot see the color assigned to the Compound Shape itself.

   Windows 10, latest version of Adobe Illustrator 26.0.1

   1. I have a file consisting of multiple rectangles all with the exact same color (e.g. black).
   2. I make two rectangles of a different color (e.g. red) and combine them into a Compound Shape (Alt-click using the pathfinder).
   3. I set the fill color of my Compound Shape to the same color as the other objects (black).
   4. If I now select one object (even if it's the compound shape), and choose Select > Same > Fill Color it will select everything except the Compound Shape

10. Color guide issue/bug

    When I click on color in "color guide" it doesn't work. So shape has (let's say) "old" color. I can click on "new" color 10 times and nothing happen. Some colors works, some colors doesn't response.

11. [Bug] Copy and paste broken - Unable to paste text without losing formatting, unable to paste shape+text

    Hi there,

    The copy and paste function within AI seems to have broken. This started a few days ago. I don't think there was a software update. No new software/hardware changes on my end either.

    Operating system: macOSX v11.4
    MBP (13" M1, 2020)
    No clipboard enhancements/plugins/apps

    Version of AI (Desktop): 25.4.1 and 25.3.1

    Steps:
    Scenario #1:
    Copying and pasting a shape with text, within the same artboard
    Result: Shape does not get pasted, text is pasted without original formatting, at Myriad Pro 12pt, changed from Area Type into Point Type.

    Scenario #2:
    Copying and pasting text, within the same artboard
    Result: Text is pasted without original formatting, at Myriad Pro 12pt, changed from Area Type into Point Type.
    Same results using both Keyboard shortcuts, or via the Edit menu

    Repeating Scenario #1 and #2 with:

    Paste in Front

    Paste in Back

    Paste in Place

    Returns the same results: No shape pasted, text becomes unformatted point type.

    Other observations:
    Same results using Keyboard shortcuts, or via the Edit menu
    Makes no difference if shape and text are grouped or ungrouped.

    Copying and pasting a shape alone does work (somewhat), but the positioning is somewhat unexpected.

    Paste in Front/Back/Place result in the shape being pasted elsewhere on the artboard.

    Very rarely, the pasting works (fluke) like in 1:05 of the screen recording

    I have tried the following:
    - Reset and deleted preferences
    - Uninstalled and reinstalled (25.4.1)
    - Uninstalled and reinstalled rolled back version (25.3.1)

12. Gradient does not show when it is being applied on live text

    Sometimes i feel handicapped while working with gradients.
    It feels like that Illustrator is holding my leg when working with gradients.

    Gradient does not show when it is being applied on live text (not outlined text), making it difficult to see the current gradient direction and placement when mouse is pressed. Gradient shows when mouse is released.

13. PARM error with embedded image

    iMac OS Catalina 10.15.7
    Adobe Illustrator 25.4.1

    I get an PARM error when selecting an embedded image and clicking the "Edición" menu (Edit in spanish).
    After clicking the OK button I can then access all the "Edit" menu options as usual.

    Please fix this annoying behaviour.

14. Spot Colors in Linked or Embedded Images can be Renamed in Swatches Palette, breaking functionality

    Double clicking a spot swatch in the Swatches Palette allows you to rename the swatch. In past versions, Illustrator would not allow you to rename the spot swatch if it was used in a linked or embedded image. Now the spot swatch can be renamed whether or not it is used in an image. There is no warning that the spot being renamed is in use. After renaming the spot swatch, the Swatches Palette does not show the spot actually used in the image. Changing the color values of the spot swatch before renaming changes the appearance of the image, but it does not after renaming. After saving and reopening the file, both the original spot(used in the image) and the renamed spot swatch will be visible in the Swatches Palette.

    I've observed this behavior in the following installs:
    MacOS 11.5.2, Illustrator versions 25.3.1 & 25.4.1
    Windows 10, Illustrator version 25.2.1

    It is important that the Swatches Palette correctly reports the spot colors used in images. The renaming of a spot swatch used in an image breaks at least one of the save scripts we use in production. It also causes an error upon saving on machines with Esko plug-ins installed.

15. Fix Creative Cloud - files can't be retrieved but cloud says no sync errors

    Operating system: MacOS Big Sur Version 11.6
    Adobe Illustrator: 25.4.1

    Trying to open a cloud document but they don't seem to exist/can't be opened as I cannot access my docs in the cloud.
    I have restarted, updated etc etc and still, when I want to access my cloud docs Illustrator says "Something went wrong, please restart the app and try again"
    I've also tried accessing from the Creative Cloud app where I have gone to my library and my cloud documents, nothing loads up - it just spins seemingly forever.
    Weirdly though, in Illustrator on my iPad Pro it says that there are "No sync errors" for my cloud documents.
    What is going on Adobe? It's infuriating to pay for functionality that doesn't work. Please can you shed some light/fix this asap.

16. Overprint and darken doesn't work properly when it doesn't exist a background color.

    Illustrator 25.4.1 (64 bit) in Windows 10

    When we use darken+overprint in objects that are over some background, we don't have a problem. But if we don't have a background it does the similar to a multiply appearance.

    Is there a way to fix this problem?

17. Spot colour on non-print layer will appear in separations as CMYK

    1. Setup a spot colour

    2. Apply it to any object

    3. Set your layer to no printing

    4. Check the separations

    It shows the spot colour as CMYK.

    Until you set the layer to Print again.

18. GPU Performance Glitches Still Not Fixed!! 2021

    GPU Performance glitches have been constantly and extremely annoying while displaying many files, it shows weird patterns from the same opened file overlaying the designs, and they randomly change and break while zooming in and out, sometimes I can't see how my design looks like because of these glitches, it is so serious, it makes the app sometimes next to useless!!

19. Color theme not matching color in document

    AI Version 25.4.1

    When selecting a color from a color theme, it appears faded/darker in the AI Document. Upon checking the RGB values, they do not match the values in the color theme. I have attached three examples plus what the document should look like (after manual input of the RGB values).

20. Random text disappearing from box

    Big Sur 11.4
    Adobe Illustrator 25.3.1

    When I open some of my ai files the text inside a text box disappears. If I try to create a new text box to replace that text it keeps disappearing. This only happened to me after updating to Big Sur. It's extremely frustrating as I haven't found a way to work around it.

    First photo is how it appears when I look at a preview of the ai file before opening, second photo is what it looks like when I open the file. (Don't mind the black lines, I wanted to keep that info private)
