1. Selection tolerance too tight on high resolution displays in Windows

   Selection tolerances are much too tight when trying to select a line rather than a shape - you have to be within 1-2 pixels to select properly, which makes it super hard to select lines.

   This can be fixed slightly by changing the UI scale, but only works if you change it to 'comically large'. It works fine on my MacBook so looks like a Windows problem.

   Smart guides don't help since smart guides don't work when snap to grid is selected for some reason.

   You can see the minute differences in the pointer position in the screenshots.

2. Cannot create new file and every time I restart it asks me to repair creative cloud, its extremely annoying!!

   This doesn't happen all the time, but most of the time I click "File -> New" nothing happens? its extremely annoying!!!!!! I have windows 10 with all the newest updates, it also asks me to repair creative cloud almost every time I start my computer. Everything else works smoothy except Illurstator.

3. Repeat Grid messes up variable width strokes

   When the artwork contains asymmetrical variable width strokes, those are converted to symmetrical variable width strokes when a Repeat grid is applied with mirroring.

4. 数字入力時のバグ

   図形サイズや角度など、普段数字を入力するときはShiftキーなど同時に押す必要が無いが、逆にShiftキーを押しながら数字を打たないと、！や＄など約物を入力してしまう。キーボードの設定と逆になっていて大変使いづらい。

5. Path effects applied to a compound shape result a doubled stroke on expansion

   1. Draw two overlapping shapes
   2. Remove fill and stroke for both of them
   3. Hold Alt and press Unite shape mode button in Pathfinder to create a live compound shape
   4. Apply Offset Path effect (or any other path deforming effect, like Roughen or ZigZag)
   5. Expand appearance of the object Result: two copies of the same stroked object Expected: one copy of the stroke object

6. Images in clipping masks glitching and overlaying artwork when in GPU

   This is similar to previous posts but not sure if the same.. apologies if repeating. In the latest version of illustrator, images within clipping masks are glitching out and making the file impossible to work with. These glitched versions of the masked image change constantly when zooming in or out, but do not disappear as they used to when illustrator bugged out previously. see attached screenshot. The orange metal flake texture should only exist within the frame of the bicycle. The lighter orange glitchy shapes do not exist.

7. Motifs are eaten on artboard on exit of using pattern tool

   Hi please could someone tell me why this happens. When I exit the pattern tool by either clicking cancel or done. The motifs on the artboard are eaten away. Some times half of it or all of it, after exiting pattern tool. Sometimes text on the artboard gets filled with images. Like the text James was filled with the Noah image I have a video to demonstrate what happens but it won’t upload. .

8. While shift-dragging objects green plus appears and picture clipping file is created.

   This issue is intermittent, but when shift-dragging an object in order to maintain vertical or horizontal position during movement, a green plus will appear next to the cursor and upon release, the object will snap back to its original position and refuse to be moved until you use the Cmd+Shft+B shortcut, which seems to clear it temporarily. However, if after that green plus appears you drag your cursor off-window to the desktop, a macOS picture clipping file is created. I have been unable to locate any settings for adjusting the behavior of mac's legacy clipping feature, so I'm hoping this can be solved on the Adobe side because it is infuriating.

9. Malwerkzeuge (Pinsel/Buntstift) übernehmen nicht die vorherigen Einstellungen

   Ich möchte mit dem Bunststift zeichnen und habe dabei die Kontur, die Farbe und das Profil eingestellt. Beim nächsten Strich werden diese Eigenschaften nicht übernommen. Ich muss jedes mal die Eigenschaften neu auswählen... das kann ja jetzt nicht sein? Das hat vorher einwandfrei funktioniert.
   Wäre sehr dankbar für eine Tipp/Lösung!

10. SVG Export - Style Tag (Angled Apostrophe) Issue

    Hi,

    I have recently stumbled upon a random issue with exporting SVGs from Illustrator (Desktop). I am recycling some previously used assets that I know work fine and are fully compatible with Articulate Rise (the eLearning tool I import the SVGs to).

    For some reason, within the last week or so, something has changed. Now when I try to import my SVGs to Articulate, I get an error saying the file type is invalid. Having investigated this with the Articulate support team, we discovered that during the export process, Illustrator is adding a random invalid character (this one (`)).

    I can edit the styling using SVG viewer, but it's slowing down our output immensely and I'm not sure what has changed? I know for a fact these images work fine in the current courses they sit in.

    Note: If I ungroup the assets on the banner image, and export them as SVGs, they all import fine and don't have the angled apostrophe. If I group them together, however, the apostrophe appears! The obvious solution would be to ungroup and collect as a single asset, which I've tested and unfortunately, this still presents the same issue. I've also tested grouping newly created assets together there are no issues.

    Hopefully, someone out there can help out with this!

11. Live shapes loose their controls in Transform panel once they become a part of a compound shape

    If I have a Rectangle shape and then subtract it from another path with Alt held (to make a live compound shape), I loose ability to change the width and height and rotation of this rectangle.
    That is if I select it with the Direct/Group Selection tool — Transform panel does not show Rectangle Properties section, and Properties panel does not show anything from Transform at all — it has a no selection set of buttons.

    This is crucial because the rectangle I subtract is rotated, and simply editing width and height distorts it.
    Isolation mode does not help.

    A workaround is to release the compound shape each time I need to edit width and height and build it again.
    Another way is to use Dynamic Shapes plugin from AstuteGraphics, which remembers the live state of the path even as a part of a compound shape.

12. Repeat-> Mirror grayed out after expanding symbols

    I used the symbol sprayer to spray image symbols. Then I expanded the objects (until I couldn't expand anymore). I selected all the object and tried to mirror them but the menu item is grayed out. All the menu items under "repeat" are grayed out, except for "options...".

13. Illustrator changes Tiny SVG headers

    (1.) Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.19042 and Illustrator 26.5
    (2.) open file, then "save as" > SVG Tiny 1.2
    (3.) SVG header contains: xmlns:x="&nsextend;" xmlns:i="&nsai;" xmlns:graph="&ns_graphs;"
    (4.) previous SVG Tiny 1.2 headers never contained the xmlns information in (3.)
    (5.) see uploaded files

    Please do not advise me on how to use (or not use) SVG files. It is just about the program (Illustrator) changing its settings for SVG headers.

14. Cannot turn off Middle Eastern feature. I am not in Middle East anymore. Type direction starts from R>L, and the numbers are in Arabic

    I activated my Creative Cloud membership when I was in Dubai, UAE, and now I am in Germany. My Photoshop and Illustrator are automatically in a Middle Eastern setting. I do not speak any Arabic language so I don't need this feature. I managed to fix Photoshop, but in Illustrator, it is impossible! Even after changing my laptop region, creative cloud account's location, setting English as the default language, and re-installing the software, nothing has happened. It is becoming a nuisance, the texts start from R>L and the numbers are always in Arabic. How can I turn off this feature?

15. Cmd + Tab app switching forcibly keeps Illustrator in focus

    When Illustrator (at full-screen mode) is in focus, and when executing the quick-app-switching Mac shortcut (cmd+tab) to the previous app, Illustrator always remains in focus. Even though the OS thinks the new app has focus — it will, for instance, invisibly receive keyboard inputs — Illustrator's UI nevertheless retains complete hold over the display, save for the OS toolbar. Chrome, Finder, even something as simple as Calculator; none of them show up. I've had to downgrade to Illustrator v.25 just to get work done.

18. Document won't save

    Hi there.
    I have been working in a new file I created, and I am unable to save the file. I have tried exporting, and quitting such that illustrator asks if I want to save. Nothing happens. I am stuck here, as I will otherwise loose the work I have done. Any suggestions???

    The problem got solved by resaving the original document and no longer can be reproduced.

    If you have a similar issue, try to search for a similar bug report which matches yours exactly or log another one, providing as many details as possible to help the team to investigate it.

19. Color change with the CPU/GPU overview with an external display

    Hello, I am on a 14" MacBook Pro. 2021

    On the MacBook screen the rendering change (CPU/GPU) does not change the color and everything works fine.

    However on an external screen the GPU rendering gives bad color (often distorted and duller), by activating the CPU rendering the color becomes normal on the external screen.

    In GPU rendering on the external screen for example, the dropper does not pick up the right color (its link images).

    On the other hand, once the color has been cut in CPU rendering, we can put back the GPU rendering (the colors become desaturated) but they match.

    This means that if I want to work correctly on the external screen I have to use CPU rendering, which is problematic in terms of performance.

20. Illustrator keeps oversaturating the color space even though modes/swatches are set correctly.

    When opening a file (usually with photography), illustrator will oversaturate all the colors regardless of color settings. Everything will be set to consistent CMYK settings but the colors show up so saturated and it's impossible to work in that space.
