clicking on stroke color in properties box adds fill to stroke
When trying to change stroke color, the properties box shows nothing in the RGB boxes. Clicking in them adds a fill to the stroke which is unwanted. Edit Gradient controls were buggy too

Unable to export to SVG using 'Export to Screens'
I cannot export as SVG using 'Export to Screens', I just get unable to export files error. Only way to do it is 'Save As' SVG and change to SVG 1.0 (1.1 doesn't work).

Export to SVG adding spurious characters to gtags from layer names which start with numbers
When exporting to svg if the layer name in Illustrator starts with a number when it comes out the other end as a gtag in the svg it is adding spurious characters. For example if a layer name starts with 0Yx it is coming out in the svg as _30Yx This then means that downstream where the application is expecting 0Yx it's not working as _30Yx is there instead. This has only started recently with the new version of Illustrator and the only work round is to close Illustrator 2024 and export using Illustrator 2023

There is no Other Misc>Zoom Out (Secondary) menu command in Keyboard Shortcuts.
There is an Other Misc>Zoom In (Secondary) menu command but there is no option to assign a corresponding Zoom Out (Secondary) keystroke.

Font Selection Panel Stuck on top of the Artboard/Application
Selecting font panel is stuck on the screen. Tried 'Reset Essentials' but the font panel does not go away. Able to work on the artboard and its contents like normal but the font selection panel is irresponsive to attempts in moving it. When going in Properties panel and changing font of a text there, the dropdown is bugged out (can only change font if you type font name).
Only after quitting application did the font selection panel disappear.

Illustrator not working
When I open Illustrator the processor dramatically slows down, to the point I can't have anything else open. Photoshop, on the other hand, works fine. When I try to move my mouse in Illustrator it takes ages, the screen starts flickering when I click on something for a few minutes before I click something else and it happens again. Sometimes it crashes. I updated Illustrator last week to the newest version, then uninstalled it because I blamed the problem on the update, but version 29.4 works just as bad. I can no longer move my objects freely
I can no longer move my objects freely as before, they are forced to be moved as if there were pixels. The methods are similar to InDesign and I can't be as precise as before because I'm forced to put an object in a place I don't want. How can i deactivate that or which settings should I change? I cant find anything.

1-bit PNG images can’t be placed, an !IMP error is given
When trying to place a 1-bit image on canvas, Ai either does nothing if it is drag-n-dropped, or throws an !IMP error message, like the attached image shows.
The other image is the one to test the problem with.

[ExtendScript] Cannot change `underline` value of some text ranges.
We cannot successfully set characterAttribute.underline to
falsein some textRanges.(MacOS 15.0 Adobe Illustrator 28.7.1)
Steps to reproduce:
1. New document
2. Make a text frame with contents "ab"
3. Set the "b" to a different fontStyle, eg. "italic"
4. Run the below script, and check the console output.Expected Result: all tests PASSED, meaning that the underline can be set to true and then to false successfully.
Actual result, test B on the "b" fails.

I can't seem to drag the the color I am using into the swatches like i used to. Nothing happens.

Distorted curve line when saving an SVG
Hello, when we save from AI/EPS to SVG file, the 'f' edge path of the logo automatically becomes out of shape. We tried different colors and it works fine. This issue only happen on white SVG. Please help.
2 votesIncrease Decimal Places value in Export As / Save As (under More Options) to raise the precision. By default it’s too low, and if your graphics is rather small, it can cause problems like this.

Symbol swatches on network drives won't stay persistent
We store our color and symbol swatches on a network drive. If we set our color swatches to be persistent, they automatically load whenever we restart Illustrator. This is not the case with symbol swatches. We have to reload manually every time. We expect them to operate the same way as color swatches. Please fix. Running Win 10/11 and the latest Illustrator.

Working on a Mac touchpad when moving around the project with 2 fingers gesture zooming triggers automatically with extreme intensity.
I used to work on my projects on my touchpad and now with the new updates somehow this bug appeared. Now it is a struggle to move around the project without a spacebar or with a hand tool instead of the previous Mac touchpad gesture.

Expanding an Inside / Outside stroke creates barely open paths
- Create a rectangle
- Apply a thick stroke to it and change its alignment to Inside or Outside
- Expand Appearance for the shape
- Deselect the shape
- Grab Direct selection and carefully move the corner points at the top right, for both paths
It turns out Illustrator doesn’t keep these tidy! One is cut open, another has a doubled point! It leads to a problems later, when we try, e.g. to make corners rounded, or apply effects.
A current workaround is to apply Add (as Pathfinder operation or an effect) to the stroke, separately form the fill... and it’s taxing for memory,…

Importing a PDF with only Spot RGB Colors inside treats the document as CMYK
I am exporting PDFs from an RGB file using 'Export for screens’ with a PDF Preset that converts to sRGB.
Any artboard that contains a ‘process’ RGB color (white, in my case) comes out as an RGB PDF file.
Any artboard that only contains Spot RGB colored elements is seen as a CMYK file when opened in Illustrator or imported in InDesign (which is my goal).My example file will export nicely until I hide the background layer to make my PDF transparent. Then the one with the (previously) white background becomes CMYK.

Gaussian Blur Effect Changed in 29.1 from 29.0.1

This was last an issue with 24.2.3, and since 24.3 it had been successfully fixed with consistent results in 29.0.1.
December 2nd, 2024: We have discovered that the issue is how the Gaussian Blur effect performs on Process vs Spot colours.
In 29.1, Gaussian blur now produces an identical effect on both process & spot colours. We'd consider that a fix, as a designer should expect the same result no matter the colour used.
The challenge here for Adobe is weighing "fixing the blur" vs customer legacy files.…
