Panels don't open with Application Frame turned off
On MacOS, when Application Frame is turned off, and Window panels (ex: Layers, Artboards, Swatches, etc.) are condensed, the Window panels will not appear when clicked on. They only work if Application Frame is on.

Gradient tool issues
Handles on on object's Gradient Annotator are difficult to adjust once a gradient has been dropped. Usually, handles simply don't respond. User needs to start from scratch and create a brand new gradient rather than make small adjustments to existing ones.
Repeated but not consistent bug: adjusting one gradient causes changes to unrelated gradients on same document.
Live preview of gradient tool is prohibitively slow, esp when gradient is anywhere near an existing Effect.
FIX: Allow us to toggle the preview effect.

Workspaces not working, all panels hidden on start up.
Just update to CC23.0.1 and when I start up Illustrator all the panels are turned off and my workspace won't change or reset.
I can turn on the panels manually, but it resets when I close Illustrator. The reset, new workspace and manage workspaces options are greyed out. If I try to change the workspace nothing happens.

Mesh objects don't get selected when only edge is marqueed
All paths in AI get selected when you draw a marque over their edge (with no points inside selection). Segment got selected. It is fine.
But mesh objects are immune to edge marqueing, because there is no 'segment' thing for a mesh. WHY? Why don't you make the same thing as it's done for paths? Just select seam between mesh points and allow to move both points adjacent when seam is 'selected'.

Gradient angle got reset to zero, when using Color Picker

2. Apply gradient
3. Change gradient angle
4. Select gradient stop
5. Double-click Fill in toolbox to open Color picker

Freeze on First File Opened if it has Missing Fonts
Illustrator CC version 22.1
OS: Windows 10 Pro, version 18031) Launch Illustrator
2) Open Ai file
3) If the first file I open after launching Ai has missing fonts the program freezes before it populates the missing fonts dialogue box. I have to force quit the application from task manager and relaunch.Any subsequent files that are opened after the first file do not have this issue regardless of missing fonts. Eyedropper picks wrong color from vector art placed behind transparent image (with Shift)
I have in image on isolated transparent backround, in CMYK, with no profiles.
It covers some art. I want to apply color of underlying art to another object. I pick Eyedropper tool and pick color from bottom art, holding Shift, clicking through transparent parts of my image.
AI picks wrong color, with fractions and dirty channels.
this is related to color picking in CMYK document from real CMYK values of an image, which AI fails to do. Again, I think AI should pick REAL color.17 votes -
Pathfinder works wrong
I have an ellipse with radial fill and I want it to be partially cropped by rectangle.
I select both rectangle with no fill, intersecting my circle, and apply Divide from Pathfinder.
I expect middle part to have gradient, positioned as uncut circle, but it becomes clear.
If i swap order of these objects, middle part has gradient, but AI resets it's position.

iMac 5k 2017 w/ Radeon Pro 580 - Illustrator very slow on GPU preview

iMac 5k 2017 w/ i5 3,8Ghz - 16Gb RAM - 2TB Fusion - Radeon Pro 580
All the file (also a very little file) is slow on movement, on move object and run with shot and NOT fluid. Slow on select object or shape or everything on file.
The same file opened on a "slow and old" MacMini with the same configuration and the same macOS is not slow and the movement is very fluid.

2. ドキュメントのグループの抜きを設定する。
3. PDF X4で保存する。
4. そのPDFをAcrobatで開く。

PDFを書き出した状態とIllustrator上での表示が異なる。Expected Result
PDFの表示とIllustrator上での表示が同じになる。Illustrator上でのグループの構造の違いがIllustrator上のレンダリング結果とPDF書き出し結果で相違が生じています。1でのグループの抜きのチェックを外したグループではIllustrator上ではグループ内ので抜き処理を行わず合成モードの処理を行います。これがPDFを書き出した際にグループの抜きと解釈され、全てがノックアウトされた状態でPDFが作成されます。どちらが正しいかという事は難しいのですが、グループに設定されたノックアウトを拒否する設定をPDF書き出し時にも有効にするほうが表現の幅が拡がるように思います。

XMPMeta is not defined on ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS #515
As of ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS, XMPMeta has stopped working. However, it works fine on:
- ILST 28.7.1 on Windows
- ILST 28.6 on MacOsThe issue also exists on ILST (Beta) 29.1 on MacOs.

Turn off Smooth Tool slider
I'm not sure if this is a bug or I just don't know what I'm doing so apologies if this is no the right place to post.
A few days ago I chose Object > Path > Smooth rather than using the Smooth tool as I normally do. A slider popped up which was actually rather useful. But now whenever I hold option to use the smooth tool (while using the Pencil), this slider dialog pops up directly over the area I am trying to see. Is there a way to turn this back off? Thanks!

Group Selection and Selection Tool move individual points and handles
When using the Group selection tool, I highlight an object by clicking it and then try and move it. Rather than moving the object highlighted, the tool selects a single point - grabs it - and I move that single point instead. This often leads to a crash of the application.
16 votesThe solution to this problem is to disable the dedicated 'Show handles when multiple anchors are selected' option in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.
Usually it is off by default and does not interfere.
However, when it’s enabled, Illustrator displays all handles for all selected art when Group Selection tool is used, and it can lead to accidental handle changes when moving the art.
If you have it disabled but still have problems — please comment back.

縦組みのアキ量設定が水平比率の影響を受ける
ver.22以降（確認できた範囲）
macOS 10.13〜11.6.7（確認できた範囲）縦組みのテキストに対して「アキを挿入（右・下）」を設定した上で水平比率を操作するとその比率に応じてアキ量が変化する。
- テキストツールにて縦組みテキストを入力する。
- 文字パネルにて「アキを挿入（右・下）」を設定する。 3.. 当該テキストに対して水平比率を設定する。
- 文字の縦幅は変わらないがアキ量が水平比率に比例して増減する。
期待する結果
縦組みのアキ量は水平比率の影響を受けない。実際の結果
縦組みのアキ量設が水平比率の値によって変化する。回避手段
アキ量設定を使わずにトラッキングによる調整を行う。これは単純なバグです。縦組み時に水平比率を調整しても文字の天地は変化しません。しかし、アキ量（上・左）、アキを挿入（右・下）ともに水平比率の値の影響を受けます。横組みと縦組みを同様に処理していると考えられます。

Ai crashes (hangs) after installing (and selecting) Google Noto Color Emoji font!
Since Ps has added NCE (Noto Color Emoji) font, Ai doesn't recognize it! I downloaded the font from GFont (NCE v2.038). After installing (for "All users"), whenever I select the NCE font in Ps or Ai, those apps crash (hang)!
If I uninstall the font (which I downloaded from GFont, not the Ps native installed one) and reinstall Ps, the font works OK, but again it doesn't appear in the Ai font list!

Wacom is crashing Illustrator 2023
It crashes within in minutes. It will crash while selecting a tool, moving the screen, or trying to use a tool--any function using a Wacom. There is rarely a crash report and often it's not even open long enough for the 2 minute autosave to kick in. I'm on a pc with Windows 10 and 27.2 cc.

Clipping compound shape doesn't have edges drawn
When a compound shape (not a compound path, but a live result of any Pathfinder operation) is used as a clipping mask, Illustrator does not display edges for the resulting objects.
- View > Hide Bounding Box (for clarity, to see the issue better)
- Draw anything
- Create two intersecting rectangles
- Select these two rectangles, hold Alt and click Unite in Pathfinder panel to get a live compound shape
- Select both the compound shape and the art below
- Object > Clipping Mask > Make

Blend Modes Hotkeys are broken
Illustrator allows users to set custom hotkeys for blend modes, in Keyboard Shortcuts > Tools, right in the very bottom.
Aside from direct commands for each available blend mode, there are two contextual keys: Next Mode and Previous Mode.They don’t work as expected. Let’s make a simple test.
1. Assign Shift+9 (displayed as 'Shift+(' — which is not correct, actually) for Previous and Shift+0 ('Shift+(') for Next blend mode.
2. Put two colored shapes in a stack, to see what’s happening when you change modes

和文組版の横組み文字列中の文字回転
Illustratorの日本語組版で、横組み文字列中の1文字を回転すると、文字が上下・左右に暴れて表示されてしまいます。
※縦組み中ではそういった不具合は観察されません。
添付ファイルのように検証してみましたが、その回転の際の原点あるいは挙動原理などがよくわかりません。
例えば、添付ファイル右下のように補正してみても、同じファミリー内でウエイトを変更しただけでもその補正値は変わるようです（平均字面が関係している？）。
和文書体は、（欧文ベールライン位置や平均字面は様々でも）基本的には正方形の仮想ボディに納められていますので、仮想ボディの中心を回転の原点としていただければ、このような補正の手間がなくなるのではないだろうか？ と考えられます。
挙動を変更していただければ、作業者の負担も軽減されるでしょう。なお、このような「横組み文字列中のひと文字を回転する」という処理は、あまり日常的にすることではありませんので、既存ファイルへの影響も軽微なものであろうと考えていますが、変更していただくならば、【その変更を周知】していただくことは大切なことだと申し添えておきます。

Changing corner radius on a shape changes unrelated anchor point
MacOS Big Sur 11.6, Illustrator 25.4.1
(Older versions too, I specifically reinstalled Illustrator with preferences resetted to verify if the bug is still there on the newest version)
I have been having this issue randomly for a while, when rounding corners on some shapes, certain anchor points get displaced, often ruining symmetry. I have tried turning every kind of snapping off. It doesn't matter if the corner is changed from the panel or from the artboard. Doesn't matter if I have one corner selected on more, Illustrator sometimes decides to change a certain anchor point.
