  1. Copy and paste doesn't always work

    Hi,

    I've been experiencing problems with Illustrator. When I copy an object with the ctrl + c button and try to paste them it randomly doesn't work.

    The problem is that I can't replicate it on command. At first I thought it had something to do with the laptop that I used, but it also happens on a freshly installed desktop.

    My version of Illustrator is 22.0.1

    I also checked the copy paste functions under the edit tab, and when I copied something it didn't show the ability to paste it. It could also only have something to do with…

  2. Direct Selection tool does not work on text anchors....

    For some reason I can no longer select text by anchor using the direct selection tool. If I use the Regular selection tool it acts as it did before the update but the direct selection tool does not.

  3. Cannot create or load documents, the canvas goes black / white / transparent / empty / transparent

    Whenever I try to open a new document or a pdf or ai file the screen shows up blank white. It is not because the white part is the art-board since I tried zooming out already and it didn't work. I also tried updating illustrator and that didn't work either nor any other questions I found on here.

  4. Type on Path Characters vanish and appear scattered / exploded on far edges of canvas (when zoomed out) if outlined / expanded

    Started in in version 27.7.0
    Reproduction procedures:
    1. Create type on a path in document.
    2. Save the document and close it once.
    3. Open that document and select the text on a path.
    4. Execute command “Outline Text”

    The above procedure will make it all disappear and disappear.
    This phenomenon is not reproduced in Illustrator 2022 or earlier, so it seems to be a 2023-specific bug.

    以上の手順で、テキストはパスごと消えてなくなります。
    Illustrator2022以前では再現しなかったため、2023固有のバグと思われます。

    The issue is believed to be fixed in the latest Beta build and is expected to be pushed into the Global Availability build at the end of July.


    To ensure this indeed fixes the problem, please install the latest Beta build from CCD app and try to reproduce it, following the steps provided by Ton in a comment within the report.

  5. Sharp corners of a convex curve get displayed wrong

    I've noticed on this newer version of Illustrator that some corners are showing an odd line overlap. Noticeable when zoomed in. I've attached pictures.

    It is also applying this to shapes made in older versions.

  6. Export for Screens: bad antialiasing and jagged edges on images within (especially rotated) when exported to JPG

    Images from artboards containing embedded raster files output using Export for Screens are of decidedly lower quality than those output from Save for Web. Please see the attached image for a side-by-side comparison. Save for Web is on the left, Export for Screens on the right. Top images are actual size, bottom enlarged for emphasis. Notice the jaggies in the raster images.

  7. Non Functional Gradient stop bug in 'Color' panel

    When adjusting a colour stop its colour is visible in the 'Color' panel's 'Fill' field. You used to be able to cancel the stop colour by clicking on this 'Fill' field to go back to the gradient fill and to get the 'Stroke' colour back in sight.
    This is no longer the case. In spite of Illustrator flashing the tool tip 'Click to cancel' clicking does not work at all. The fill colour is stuck on the 'Colour Stop's colour.
    Now you can only see the 'Stroke' field in the 'Gradient' panel and the 'Tools' panel. This is a pain…

  8. View Rotation Feature is obstructing regular pinching in or out gesture for zooming, when using the trackpad

    When using the pinching in or out gesture on the trackpad, to zoom in or out.
    The artboard gets rotated very easily if there is even a slight rotation in the gesture while.

    And then part 2 of problem. Its impossible to set it back to 0degrees. It keeps snapping between some low degrees

  9. (Applescript) do javascript command no longer works in Illustrator 2021(25.1)

    Bug report:
    When using AppleScript's do javascript in Illustrator 2021(25.1), nothing happens regardless of whether it is a file or text. The result will return a missing value. In 25.0.1, it works fine.

    In the case of jsx files, it can be avoided by writing the following code. If the file extension is jsxbin, it cannot be executed. And arguments cannot be passed.

  10. Eyedropper doesn't work on groups

    When I select a group and I try to use the eyedropper tool, this seems to not work.
    In the fill box in the toolbar it appears as the colour already changed, but the group still looks with the original colour.
    If I ungroup the group, or if I unite the group with the pathfinder (plus cmd+8), then the eyedropper works regularly, but this is not the ideal way to work. I already contacted the support online, but the issue hasn't been sorted out properly.

    I use MacOS High Sierra — Version 10.13.6

  11. 合成フォントがつくれない

    1.illustrator 26.5
    2.合成フォント作成時。プルダウンからフォントの変更
    3.フォントを変更できる
    4.フォントをプルダウンから選んでも、フォントが変わらない。（初期設定されいるもののまま変更できない）

    上記のバグはフォントだけでなく、ウェイトの変更もできません

  13. Bounding box suddenly disappears using Selection Tool

    Suddenly disappears, but when a select scale then select the "Selection Tool" again the Bounding box reappears. When it is gone, togglingthe quick key, has no effect though t changes the menu state for turning it on and off. Also, when it can't be seen, a small icon for the bounding box is in the corner, occasionally.

    When place 1 bit TIFF and rotate image, CC2018(22.0.1)'s view is wrong.

  15. Image Not Visible/Blank When Placing EPS Files into new file

    I use a program called Separation Studio to separate raster images into spot colors. I then open up a new Illustrator file, click file -> place -> select the eps file created from Separation Studio, and the image that is placed is blank. This was not an issue with any versions of Illustrator. In previous versions, you were able to see the image that was placed and even change/alter the spot colors that were brought in. In this new version, CC18, the spot colors come in with the image when it's placed, but even if you change the spot color,…

  16. Kerning on extended selections can only be set to Auto or 0 message

    My kerning worked just fine about an hour ago, but now every time I try to add a custom kerning value it gives me the warning: Kerning on extended selections can only be set to Auto or 0.

    I can't seem to get this to go away.
    I uninstalled & reinstalled Illustrator and it is still happening.
    I tried many fonts of different types, and it still won't work.

  17. 「オーバープリントブラック...」の不具合

    OS／macOS11.6.8
    Illustrator.ver.27.7（以前のバージョンから同様の挙動と考えられます）

    スタイルの当たったテキストをCMYKの黒100でオーバーライドしたものに対して「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用するとCMYK黒100の部分がスタイルのカラーにフォールバックする。

    再現方法
    1.テキストフレームを用意し塗りに対して明るい色を設定した段落スタイルを適用する。
    2.任意のテキストの塗りに対してCMY各0、K100のCMYKブラックを適用する。
    3.このテキストフレームを選択し「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用する。
    4.CMYK黒で指定した部分は塗りに対してオーバープリントが設定されるが塗りがスタイルカラーに戻る。

    期待する結果
    「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用してもスタイルを適用したあとでCMYKブラックをオーバーライドした部分の色が変わらずオーバープリント属性が設定される。

    実際の結果
    「編集→カラーを編集→オーバープリントブラック」を適用するとスタイルを適用したあとでCMYKブラックをオーバーライドした部分の色が変スタイルカラーに変わってしまう。

    回避方法
    スタイルを適用した部分を黒でオーバーライドする際はCMYKブラックではなくグレースケールのブラックを利用すると回避可能。

    また、スタイルが適用されたあとCMYKブラックをオーバーライドされた部分のあるテキストフレームをスクリプトにてoverprint属性を適用しようとした場合も同様にスタイルカラーに戻ってしまいます。

    回避方法がありますが、CMYKブラックとグレースケールブラックで挙動が異なるのは問題です。オーバープリントブラック処理は最終的に処理を行う場合が多い処理です。意図しない色変化が生じるリスクはできるだけ避けたほうが良いです。早急に改善いただきたいと思います。

  18. An unknown error occurred when saving AI file

    Since updating to 24.2 on our Macs people are intermittently getting "An unknown error occurred" when trying to save an AI file. We have found in those cases outlining all the fonts will let us save. We are using the latest version of Universal Type Client for our font management.

    Please Also let us know if you have been using any 3rd Party plugin while facing this problem.

  19. Bullets and Numbering characters disappear when outlining font

    As per my title - If I use bullets and numbering in a text box, when I outline the text in the text box the bullets and numbering completely disappear.

  20. Objects rotating when trying to transform or move

    When manipulating shapes, the cursor will try and rotate the object. I will try and grab a handle to transform the shape and the object rotates. I have to zoom into the object in order to stop it from rotating despite the cursor showing the correct tool. For example if I want to make a simple box longer, I'll put my cursor over the middle handle on the left side of the box. My cursor will change from an arrow to the one with arrows facing away from each other. The moment I press my mouse the object will immediately…
