1. Recent Files Browser Window: the wrong file opens when choosing a recent file

   This has happened multiple times. It isn't a one off incident.

   Adobe Illustrator CC 22.1 (64-bit) / Windows 10

   Step 1: Open Illustrator from desktop icon.
   Step 2: Click on a recent file from displayed recent file options.

   Expected result: Selected file opens.

   Actual result: A file other than the one I clicked opens.

   There doesn't appear to be a pattern to which file opens, other than it is one from the selection of recently opened/saved files shown. See attachment.

2. Open file that is already open deletes unsaved changes without prompt

   If a document is already open and have changes that aren't saved and the user accidently opens the same file, the file closes without giving the user a chance to save changes...

3. New text box appearing on clicking in current text box

   When you click in a text box with the type tool, it'll create a new text box unless you click on the actual word you want to modify. Or if you are trying to add something to the end of your text and click like a millimeter off the letter, it'll create a new text box.

   This is super annoying and I'm not quite sure why this function is necessary. It didn't use to be like this until the last update. Please look at this for the next update for those who use a lot of text in Illustrator.

4. Unembed for Black and White Bitmap

   Adobe Illustrator 22.1
   macOS High Sierra 10.13.3

   The Unembed button is grayed out for Black & White Bitmap images. The workaround is to Rasterize as Grayscale but this is leading to unexpected results. Parts of my images are disappearing, please fix the bug and add this feature.

5. Free Transform Tool hidden under Puppet Warp in toolbar

   Illustrator CC 2018 22.1.0

   The Free Transform Tool is no hidden under the Puppet Wrap Tool. The Free Transform Tool should be the default tool. The Puppet Transform Tool should be the one which is hidden.

   In a typical day we use the Free Transform Tool quite frequently, while we almost never use the Puppet Wrap Tool. I do not speak for everyone, but only for our design studio and in my personal experience.

   Before someone posts something about keeping the bounding box visible, please be aware that to remove as much useless clutter from our drawings while editing an object we almost always keep the following hidden: the Bounding Box and Corner Widget.

   Hiding these two items create efficiencies in our drawing routine and removes unneeded clutter when editing objects.

   Corner roundness can be edited in the control bar and bounding box can be revealed only when needed using the Free Transform Tool.

   By default these should be hidden for power users (my opinion). They can be turned on if needed by other users.

6. Transform Panel in Properties – Nudge using arrow keys problem

   In investigating my own question from in the user forum (https://forums.adobe.com/message/10238447#) I discovered that there is a disconnect between the Transform panel that is embedded in the properties panel and the Transform panel that you access via the Window dropdown.

   The free floating TRANSFORM panel you access from the Window dropdown works just like it always did... when I put my cursor in the X, Y, W or H and click an up or down arrow key it first rounds to the nearest .125" then increases or decreases .125" at a time (assuming the units are set to inches).
   The Transform section embedded in the new PROPERTIES panel does NOT work properly. It only goes up and down in 1" increments.

   I am using Illustrator 22.0.1, and I do not believe this has been addressed yet.

   No longer a problem in recent versions

7. Clicking on File > File Info... does nothing and sometimes locks up

   When opening a file or creating a new file, nothing happens when I click on File > File Info...

   The menu bar disappears and all menu options are grayed out. I can sometimes hit escape and it clears the condition, but I'm unable to open the File Info dialog. Other times, it completely locks up and I have to Force Quit.

   On version Illustrator 22.0.1
   Running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D102)
   MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

8. LAUNCH ERROR ISSUE - Google Drive File Stream

   Drive File Stream interfere with Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 on Windows 7 SP1 x64 bit.

   After installing Google Drive File Stream I get lunch error during Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 (icui18n.dll) and program runs with limited functionality.

   When uninstalling the google drive file stream everything works just fine.

   I shared the same issue with the drive file stream, so i just hope that it will not end up pointing fault one on another. Both applications are important to workflow.

   Here is some good news. We users who have confirmed that the issue is resolved when you install the latest version of Google File Stream.
   Please update to Google Drive File Stream 26.1.37.2022 or later

9. Cannot Pan/Scroll with WACOM pen in Open/Save/Place file dialogue windows.

   Cannot Pan/Scroll with Wacom pen in Open/Save/Place type file dialogue windows in mmany if not all of Adobe apps (where every other non-Adobe app I know of does, Apple and other 3rd parties), obviously this pertains to when you've mapped a Wacom pen button to pan/scroll to use in that manner (Wacom settings screen attached).

   What should happen is being able to interact similar to touch omnidirectional swiping which includes vertical mouse-like scrolling when pressing the button and making contact with the pen, as would be expected and Wacom designed it to do.

   What instead happens: Adobe apps interpret this as a Quick Look request on click of whatever file is targeted by cursor at the time. This defers from every system norm elsewhere on macOS, 1st and 3rd party. Never witnessed this in a non-Adobe app. Adobe apps are essentially ignoring the pan/scroll input from Wacom pens, but strangely only in those types of windows, which are standard and common macOS type views otherwise and not unique to Adobe, so the behavior expected is pretty well established.

   Note: This is not unique to Illustrator. This is an Adobe Suite - wide issue. Photoshop, InDesign reflect same unexpected behavior, and I would suspect others if it's a shared thing across the CC suite of apps. That said, in all other app interactivity other than in these window types, the pan/scroll input is respected and behavior is consistent with expectation.

   ...This issue has plagued Adobe products for a long time and is not newly occurring.

10. Set Area Type width to larger than 13.888 inches via Type->Area Type Options... dialog

    Though the type tool can draw area type boxes of any size, the width property of the Area Type Options dialog box can only be set up to 13.888 inches. This means that for any wider area type, whenever you change a property within the Area Type Options it will be resized to 13.888 inches wide.

    This is not a new problem as seen in this thread started in 2010: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/701249.

    I often work on area type larger than this seemingly arbitrary limit. If I adjust the columns, gutters, inset or any other property found within the Area Type Options then Illustrator changes the width to 13.888 inches. Then I have to manually correct the width of these area type boxes by dragging the bounding box handles. This often means making an extra object or guides set at the correct width to which I snap the area text.

    The 13.888 inch limit in Area Type Options should be removed!

    Though the type tool can draw area type boxes of any size, the width property of the Area Type Options dialog box can only be set up to 13.888 inches. This means that for any wider area type, whenever you change a property within the Area Type Options it will be resized to 13.888 inches wide.

11. Syncing font from Typekit never works

    When opening a file that I have used Typekit fonts in, the missing fonts dialog box tells me they are missing, but are available to sync from Typekit.
    I have tried the following to restore my fonts

    1. Press "Sync" from the missing font dialog box inside illustrator. (this does nothing. it loads forever and never updates my fonts)
    2. Open typekit in browser, unsync and re-sync all fonts.
    3. Close file. Open typekit in browser, unsync and re-sync all fonts. Re-open file.
    4. Quit Illustrator. Open typekit in browser, unsync and re-sync all fonts. Launch Illustrator. Open file.

    NOTHING works.

12. Cursor jumps while editing Font Family name

    When I try to change font name from HeliosCondBlackC to HeliosBlackC (both are installed), erasing part of the name, CC2018 moves cursor to the end (while CC2017 does not)
    I also have 'Entire Font name' option chosen (and never change it), but cursor still jumps to the end.

    Simply fix this bug once and for all.

    This issue is fixed in Creative Cloud Desktop 5.2 update.

    If you have not updated to Creative Cloud Desktop 5.2 update then you can try restarting the machine to proceed with installation.

14. crashing

    So, I updated to the latest version of illustrator about two weeks ago. Then I realised it crashed every 30 minutes or so, every single time i used it. I'm not doing anything particularly heavy, it just crashes randomly. and I often lose the work i've done as the auto save doesnt seem to catch the last few things I've been doing. So, I decided to uninstall and go back to the 2017 version. Which then lead to my documents having their own issues. all saving as transparent, or with weird lines going through them. Here I am again with a basically unusable program that im paying money for every month. So the best solution ive found is to stay with the lastest version of illustrator and try to work around the crashing. .... not good at all!

15. Zoom to mouse location

    Prevously when you zoom with the Mouse (magic Mouse 2) it would zoom to the location of the pointer. Now it seems to just zoom to a random point. I move the mouse pointer and it still zooms to the random point. I want to hover my mouse somewhere and then zoom to that position like previous.

    Please try to disable Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display > Zoom to Selection option and see if it solves the problem.

16. Renaming an artboard deletes the original name

    in previus version Illustrator if i need to rename artboard without deleting original name, i press in text field of artboard. In new version pressing on this field comes to delete original name

17. Select artboard behind

    With the latest update if I draw an artboard over an existing one I can only select the larger board. It didn't use to be like this. We used to be able to click each artboard name to select it.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

18. Right click menu location bug. Win10 200% scaling.

    When I do right click, coordinate of context menu location doesn't double and located at the center between of cursor and top left corner of the workspace. This bug happens at all CC versions support Hi-dpi displays. Absolutely clean Windows, Illustrator, no plugins.

    This issue has been fixed in the latest Illustrator version (23.0.3 on WIN & 23.0.4 on MAC).

19. Bounding Box Persistence while traversing history: failure mode

    Hello, this is a very light bug that has been pestering me.
    I'm running Ai CC 21.1.0

    Bug Summary:
    While traversing the Ai history using (Cmd+z and Shift+Cmd+z) the bounding box loses track of which elements are being manipulated between the different states. This may depend on number of elements, which will then point to performance limitations but I am running on a 2016 MacBook Pro, 16 GB Memory, 2.7 GHz i7 processor, Radeon Pro 455 and Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB for graphics.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Take a mixed sample of marks, shapes, type.
    2. Make unique edits on each, ie. scale a shape, change font size on type.
    3. Attempt traversing the history to see if bounding box remains on the latest edited elements from that history state.

    Expected Result:
    Bounding box encompasses only the elements that have changed/are the ones changing/went to through a change while traversing the document's history.

    Actual Result:
    Bounding box will encompass the last edited elements/the elements that are changing in the current history state for a few steps through the history, however quickly loses track.

20. Layer panel not working with document multiple windows

    Hi, I have the AI latest release (21.1.0) and I'm facing an issue with multiple windows on two different screens of the same project.
    The layers panel is not responding when I want to open a layer tree, block and hide/show.

    I read there are some problems with the GPU preview so I tried to disabled it but the problem is still there.

    I try to explain what I'm doing:
    1. Open an empty New Document
    2. Add two new layers
    3. Draw something on every layer
    4. Duplicate the window going to Window > New Window (I want to have a general view of my drawing in a window and work on the details in the second window)
    5. Now I try to hide/block/open the layers from the Layer Panel. It doesn't work.

    I attached a GIF to hopefully explain better my problem.
