2. Shape panel measurements vs. Transform panel measurements

   The measurements (width and height) on the Shape panel are inverted compared to the measurements on the Transform panel. The transform panel shows the correct measurements, but no the Space panel. Please fix so that both panels have the same measurement.

3. Transform Each always uses visible preview bounds instead of expected geometric bounds, ignoring the state of Use Preview Bounds option

   Rotate via Transform Each incorrectly places reference point.
   1. Version: AI-CC 22.0.0
   2. Steps taken:
   Objects: Triangles with 1:1 height/width ratios. Stroked with stroke centered on vector and sharp corners.
   Operation: Rotation via Transform Each command with a centered reference point.

   1. Expected result:
      Since the vector was contained within a square bounding box (1:1 H:W), I expected the triangles to rotate without changing XY location.

   2. Actual result:
      Rotations happened off-center, slightly moving the triangle toward the point that did not align with one of the bounding-box corners.

   Additional Testing:
   I tested the behavior of both the Rotate tool and the Rotate command with a centered reference point and they performed as expected with the bounding box remaining at the same XY coordinates.

   I then tested the Transform Each command on a triangle without a stroke and found that it also performed as expected, rotating around the center point without shifting the XY coordinates of the bounding box.

   Finally, I increased my stroke size to be very large and tested the Transform Each rotation command again and found that the XY offset was directly related to the width of the stroke outside the vector path.

   Conclusion: When performing a rotation, the Transform each tool calculates the center point based on the visible bounds of an object instead of the geometric bounds. Given that with triangles, the stroke is approximately twice as wide at the corners vs the edges, this shifts the reference point to be off-center compared to the actual vector, causing an incorrectly rotated vector.

   Fix: Ensure that the Transform Each command correctly calculates the reference points based on the vector alone instead of the visible bounds of the object. (or better yet, add this as a checkbox option... there IS one more spot available to even out the second column of checkboxes, and I can see there being times when I would want to transform based on visible bounds)

4. Editing a small CC Library object breaks the thumbnail

   Editing small CC Library items leads to imminent damage to it's thumbnail.

   1 Create an object in Illustrator (for testing purpose make it 4pt x 4pt)
   2 Add it to cc library (noth that thumbnail is generated properly)
   3 Edit the cc lib. object in illustrator (anything will do just add a rectangle anywhere on the canvas)
   4 Save/close the CC lib object

   Expected: the thumbnail is updated and represents the content of the CC item
   Observed: the thumbnail is ridiculously small/not readable

5. Special characters and Data merge

   New data merge feature does not import special characters like trademark or inch marks. Followed steps provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/data-driven-graphics-templates-variables.html

   Attached is an example package artwork and a csv for data merge. I need the inch marks and TM to pull in as part of the text.

   I have used scripts in the past to generate artwork from data which has worked to pull in any character found here http://hypertransitory.com/blog/2015/04/26/illustrator-variable-data/

   Will also enter a separate suggestion, but there needs to be an option to name each data set based on data file used so that file names can be set up for batch save actions.

6. The Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [x!fd]

   This issue happens with older templates. When I open older files, it gives this message: The Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [x!fd]. I have a gotten this message in 2017 and Adobe step up to fix the issue, but the previous update and this one still has the issue. I can open these in previous versions of Illustrator. It's really a pain to fix the file as I have to save in Illustrator 8 and then reimport the text as this conversion converts the type to curves. Now to make matters worse if I save the file back to version 8 the new Illustrator wont open it. so I now need a previous version of Illustrator just to save back to Illustrator 8. I attached a simple file for you to look at that gives this issue.

7. AI from PDF keeps old thumbnail/preview

   I often get someone's source documentation in PDF.

   Yes, we should get source. No, it seems we can't get the soruce.

   So - I open the PDF in Illustrator and save the useful chunks - graphics mostly - as separate files in .ai format, pdf-compatable.

   For whatever reason, those docs usually will not preview correctly in Win Explorer or when browsing from ID to place as a graphic.

   It seems there's some preview/thumbnail info from the original PDF that lingers in the AI file - even though it was a multi-page file, and I'm only using a piece of it from a page in the middle.

   It seems that, because I opened the PDF and then saved it as AI, Illustrator doesn't clear out the old thumbnail info.

8. Can't Delete Empty Artboards

   I can no longer "delete empty artboards." The feature is there and not grayed out, but when I try to use it, it simply does nothing. My empty artboards remain. This is very inconvenient as I sometimes need to alter documents with several artboards and I have found it to be extremely helpful in the past.

10. Playing scripts via action with no open documents

    Running scripts via an action only appears to work if there is at least one open document.

    Steps:
    1. Create a simple script (such as app.documents.add)
    2. Save to Illustrator scripts folder.
    3. Record to action via 'Insert Menu Item'
    4. Make sure no documents are open
    5. Play action. Illustrator displays the message 'The object <ScriptName> is not currently available.'

    If you run the script via File > Scripts, it runs normally. I don't think this should be expected behaviour; if the menu command runs the script, the action should too, regardless of whether or not there is an already open document.

    Running scripts via an action only appears to work if there is at least one open document.

    Steps:

11. cannot merge layers

    version 22.0.1 brand new download of illustator

    The action cannot complete because a parameter is invalid.
    (possibly a program error) ......... this is what i get when trying to merge layers.

12. Transform Tool

    Entering a number in X then hitting tab to Y and typing in the number is jogging to another number and not applying the number I typed. I have to wait a couple seconds then type in the number for Y. This worked fine two versions ago.

14. Slow doing anything.

    When I open the program, everything is going and moving fast, after awhile it gets really slow!
    I understand that it maybe after awhile the cache gets full and the program gets to operate slower but this is not the case here.
    With previous versions I didn't have to close and open the program in order for it to speed up. I would go for weeks not needing to close it. Right now in just couple of hours the program works from fast to being slow for no reason.

16. Expanded Objects have missing Corner Widgets

    1. Problem occurs in all versions of Illustrator 21.x.x and 22.x.x

    2. When an Object with a non-simple Appearance is Expanded the resulting shapes have Corner Widgets created for some of the corners but not for others.

    3. All corners should have Corner Widgets.

    4. When an Object with a non-simple Appearance is Expanded the resulting shapes have Corner Widgets created for some of the corners but not for others. I don't understand why when I expand a rectangle I get a new rectangle with 3 corners that have Corner Widgets but the 4th corner doesn't have a Corner Widget - how can it be that it works correctly for some corners but not others?! It seems incredible that such a simple and common operation doesn't work correctly.

18. Option + Arrow Key Not Working in Illustrator 2018

    In all previous releases that I can remember. If you held down the option key and then tapped arrow key Illustrator would create a copy and move the object by the distance set in preferences. In the current version this functionality is missing and actually nothing happens. Is this working for anyone or is there a fix?

19. Keyboard shortcut for Change Case > UPPERCASE is missing

    1. In version 22.1 there is no anymore option for Type > Change Case > UPPERCASE in Keyboard Shortcuts.
    2. I miss that Shortcut, that's all.

20. Selection of multiple text objects - changing font not working

    We can no longer change the font of multiple text objects at once.
    When multiple text objects are selected, Ai thinks this is a 'mixed selection' and does not come up with the typeface selector. Slowing down my work incredibly.
