Sudden and constant "Out of GPU memory" error, Ai 29.4
I am suddenly getting constant "Out of GPU memory" errors, which renders all the graphics in "Outline" view, and crashes Illustrator. It just started occurring today (Wednesday April 23, 2025). Yesterday everything was fine.
Mac Studio, M2 Max, 64 GB RAM, Sonoma. Ai 29.4My CS6 version of Illustrator at home on an old Mac, runs so much better than anything coming out of Adobe ever since this Creative Cloud debacle disaster!

File with links to the same filename, when folder is moved, tries to open itself
Suppose a file X have links to file Y with the same name but in other folder. If you move the original file so Illustrator can't find Y, it then tries to open the filename in its own folder and find the file itself (X). Multiple links cause the message "the file is already opened"

Smart guides don't snap to or highlight guides when there is an object nearby
I don't know if this is mentioned in any of the other smart guides bugs, it didn't look like it. I have a guide that I need the reflect tool to snap to with smart guides. However, when I try to hover over the guide where an object is, the smart guides just don't recognize it, I have to go to where the guide is over the artboard to get the smart guides to show up. It may be because the guide is on the layer behind the art, but that is my locked reference layer, and I want it…

Direct Select Multiple Points Moves Entire Object Not Just Selected Points
Selecting a single point and dragging or shift-dragging allows you to move the single point. Selecting two points (out of many) appears to work until you release, then the entire object changes position.

Losing data saved in cloud
I'm using version 2025 of Illustrator, if the files stored in the cloud re-run the program, all the text will disappear. Don't you really have to compensate me for losing data while paying a lot of monthly fees? I'm so angry.

Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Etc. make the files extremely bloated
Every time I create a drop shadow or an outer glow now, the thing doesn't render properly on screen (see screenshot), but worst of all that simple addition adds about 500MB to my file size. What's going on?
M1 MacPro Sonoma
Ai version 29.3 - though same thing happens with 28, 27 and 26.I've also included a simple file - add a drop shadow with about 15px size and save (without compression) and watch the file increase, Also see rendering errors.

Inconsistent stroke value
It didn't seem to be a problem before, but when I have two closed shapes that read and are supposed to have the same stroke value, but they appear to be completely different values.

Cyrilic character disappears when loaded from variable library
When I load a csv variable library that contains the cyrilic character ç in it, this character disappears when I merge it with the template. Using Adobe Illustrator v29.6.1 on a Mac Sequoia 15.5

Gradient Strokes lose exactly 1pt thickness when placed and embedded into another Illustrator file
When placing AI or PDF files into an Illustrator document, any strokes that have gradients applied will become exactly 1pt thinner than its intended weight. The weight shows properly before embedding the link. I've seen a number of designers use a gradient 1pt line on their artwork to seem "metallic" only to find their line completely disappears if their artwork is placed into another Illustrator file. This only applies if you embed the link. Leaving the linked AI/PDF as a link will preserve the correct stroke weight.

Area type vertical alignment and auto size doesn't work
I've been using Illustrator on my Intel Mac under Sequoia and last versions lets you choose center, bottom or justify alignment but it always acts as top and the auto size option is disabled.
2 votesPlease post a screen recording of this issue. In Illustrator 2024 Auto-resize is disabled when alignment is "Center", "Bottom" or "Justify", and Auto-resize works fine when alignment is set to "Top". I see the same behavior in Illustrator 2025 as well.

Select Unused Swatches does not select the second black swatch in Grays color group
— Create a new Print document with default swatches.
— Delete ALL the presets: brushes, symbols, graphic styles...
— Now Open Swatches and run Select All Unused command from its flyout menu.
White and Black are not selected (expected in a way).
But notice that 'C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100' is also not selected.
So when all the selected swatches get deleted, this black duplicate stays, and the color group stays, and you have to delete it manually — each time.I tried to understand what forces Ai to keep it.

Contextual Task Bar and Help Bar don’t have hotkeys and these can’t be assigned
When I check Keyboard Shortcuts, Menu Commands, Window, I can find Control, Properties... but not Contextual Task Bar or Help Bar. So we can’t assign hotkeys for these and call these from keyboard when needed.
Seems like someone forgot to include these slots for customization. Please expose these.3 votes
