1. Values in W / H fields in Transform dropdown from Control don’t get updated while editing another field with Constrain Proportions enabled

   When editing an object, click in the Height or Width input box and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to decrease the value. When changing one value (e.g. height), the other value is not updated. You must exit the window and return to it to see the value.

3. Circle with thin stroke aligned inside has artifacts in GPU Preview

   I’ve noticed that when I draw a circle with a diameter of 250 mm and a stroke thickness of 0.25 pt, with the stroke alignment set to inside, and then draw another circle with the same stroke thickness but a diameter of 230 mm, the smaller circle shows irregularities in the stroke line (see images).

   When the stroke alignment is set to center, however, the circle is displayed correctly.
   This issue isn’t serious, I just noticed it while working.

   Notes:
   - Reproduced on macOS 14 (Sonoma) + Illustrator 2025 (v29.5).
   - Also confirmed on Windows.
   - This bug has existed since at least 2022 but was hard to report due to unclear steps.

   It's not harmful, but it didn’t happen in older versions and can be distracting.

5. Exclusive to Mac Version: Lines Appear in PDF/x-4 Files, Not Present in Windows Version

   When placing a compatible PSD file (*1) into an AI document and exporting it as PDF/x-4, there has long been a bug where black lines appear on the edges of transparent areas. This issue has been fixed in the Windows version, but it remains unresolved in the Mac version, even in version 2024.

   The issue does not occur in the Windows version, even with the same version of Illustrator. It only happens on the Mac version.
   It occurs whether the PSD is linked or embedded.
   Even if an AI file is created on Windows and has no problems in the Windows version of Illustrator, lines will appear when opened on the Mac version.
   The exported PDF data actually has pixel abnormalities, and lines will appear regardless of whether you are using Mac or Windows.
   The lines may already be visible when you place the file. They become less noticeable when you use the CPU preview. This does not happen in the Windows version.

   *1) This refers to a transparent PSD file saved with Photoshop's "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility" option turned on, and without a background layer.

6. Using Color Mixer in Control panel for stroke changes the color of the fill instead

   I encountered this problem as seen in the GIF.
   Selecting a stroke or fill from the control bar menu changes the active appearance. When using sliders, it doesn't. i have tested on different Windows 11 machines and different documents. Replicated the issue every time.

8. Picking Eyedropper temporarily disables Smart Guides

   In previous versions (can’t say for sure now when it stopped) we were able to aim with the Eyedropper better, when Smart Guides were enabled. In CC 2017 it works. Was quite helpful to pick color from a stroke, highlighting the object that is going to be sampled. Cool, right?

   But now, I suppose with the Photoshop-style sampling rings glued on, Illustrator forgot it’s a vector program. The sampling ring should not disable Smart guides!

   I somewhat get why pressing Shift might disable it, because Shift enables the 'sample by pixel' mode, and picking a color from a smart guide is not something we would need (actually, jus ignore the color of these, don’t hide)... but why disable Smart Guides for the normal mode? Please review and fix! The tool doesn’t hint what exactly it would pick, a stroke, a fill, a raster color... Sampling ring is not a solution, especially if you work in CMYK.

9. Smart Objects not updating correctly due to Optimized Save Illustrator 30

   I have been running into an issue since updating to Illustrator 30. After a fair amount of observation, I believe it is coming from this enhancement as listed in the Illustrator 30 release notes: "Save complex edits in your artwork faster, as Illustrator now only saves the changes you make, not the entire document each time".

   Since the update to Illustrator 30, when I edit and save relatively complex vector smart objects that are embedded or linked in Photoshop, the objects have begun to appear incorrectly in Photoshop (I'm also using the latest version of Photoshop, up to date on Mac OS). Elements within the smart object itself will appear out of layer order (or simply disappear), or transparency masks will disappear. I noticed when I was making minor edits, the "save" would take much less time than usual. That is how I discovered the existence of this new File Save performance enhancement that I believe is the root cause of this.

   When I "force" Illustrator to save the entire smart object file (rather than just the changes I've made) by hitting "Select All" and nudging up one tick and back down one tick, then hitting save — the smart object takes notably longer to save, then updates correctly in Photoshop. I have repeated this over and over again, so it feels relatively isolated to these criteria, best I can tell!

   Thank you in advance for your attention on this! Thank you so much for your hard work on the software updates.

   *Update: another possible work-around is to turn off "Save in Background". Obviously only a workaround, not a fix.

10. フォントの表示がおかしい

    本日Illustratorのアップデート後、作成途中のドキュメント上のほとんどの文字が正常に表示されなくなりました。例えば、文字間の詰めが-1000のようになっている（数値は0なのに）。漢字が図形に化けている。書体によっては、まとなものもありますが、メインで使う新ゴやリュウミンなどは全く表示されません。
    ところが、フォントの表示がないのに、PDFにすると表示されているのはなぜでしょう。

11. Centre Points of all objects are visible when I reopen files

    Illustrator 30.0 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8

    Each time I reopen a file in which I had a mix of objects with either visible or hidden centre points, most of these are visible (at least, those of paths, guides…) and they can get in the way.

    I think this started happening with the new version 30.0 (or maybe just the one before).

    Here are examples of 2 similar files, one with and one without all Centre Points showing.

    The team tried to fix this in Beta 30.1.0.109. The latest one is 30.2.0.12.

    If you can — please try to use Beta and see if no centers will be enabled or disabled when reopening a file. The fix won’t remove those that are already in a document, so we need to to toggle them manually in the Attributes panel.

12. Phantom objects in Finder Preview and when imported into Photoshop

    I'm on MacOS. When previewing an .ai file in Finder, there will often times be phantom objects visible in Finder Preview. These objects are always duplicates of whatever is actually visible on the artboard-- usually it's a phantom object in the position the object was in the last time I saved the file. When I open the .ai file in Illustrator, those objects do not exist. The objects are not hidden; they are not on some other layer. This is particularly problematic because those phantom objects are still there if I open the .ai file in Photoshop. If I add the .ai file as a Smart Object layer in my Photoshop file, the phantom objects are there. If I attempt to edit that Smart Object, Illustrator opens up and shows the phantom objects are not there. Saving and closing DOES NOT FIX IT. Sometimes toggling the visibility of the Illustrator layer the objects are on and then saving fixes it. Sometimes toggling to outline mode fixes it. Sometimes moving the .ai from one folder to another, brings the phantom objects back. Why is this happening? How do I make it stop?

13. Spot swatch color is not saved correctly when changing the color of an existing swatch

    1. Details of your operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19045 Build 19045)

    2. The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop): 30.0

    3. The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues:
       Create a new document, add a spot swatch and set the color to 100% cyan (or any color). Apply this spot swatch to an object, like a rectangle for example. Save the document as an .ai file. Then, change the color of the spot swatch to a different color (for example 100% yellow, or any color). Save the document again as an .ai file. Open the document in Acrobat.

    4. Your expected result and the actual result:
       Expected result is that the rectangle in the file when opened in Acrobat should be 100% yellow, following the example above, or whatever the spot swatch color was changed to. Actual result is that the rectangle remains the original color when the document was first saved. If the spot swatch is changed, then copied into a new document then it displays correctly when saved.

    5. Upload your Illustrator file or a video (screen recording or gif, this helps us most to reproduce the issue and resolve it)
       Open the file in Illustrator and the rectangle is yellow. Open the file in Acrobat and the rectangle is cyan.

    Why does this matter? Many production printing RIPs use the embedded PDF data in the .ai file. If the spot swatch color data is not being updated correctly on a subsequent file save this causes issues in production workflows.

14. Changes made by plugin tools are not rendered instantly in CPU Outline and Pixel Preview modes

    Just recently something changed for plugins, and changes these make don’t get updated in modes until you force the canvas to redraw (zoom, move, draw in the region... not pan though).
    Here, I try to use one of Astute Graphics’ plugins (it affects many) — I shorten the path, but Ai doesn’t re-render it!

    I bet it’s about performance, but come on! These tools is what keeps Ai afloat for many. Please don’t drop the support.

    Warning is not displayed.

17. 縦組みのエリア内文字のスレッドテキストオプション作成が正常に機能しない

    macOS 14.7.2
    Illustrator ver.29.1

    Step to reproduce
    1.縦組みのエリア内文字を作成する
    2.矩形ツールで矩形を描く
    3.エリア内文字と矩形を選択してメニュー「書式→スレッドテキストオプション→作成」を選択する。
    4.矩形が縦組みエリア内文字に変換されるが、スレッドテキストにはならずエリア内文字のコンテンツがコピーされた状態になる。

    期待する動作
    矩形がスレッドテキストとして正常にリンクされる。

    実際の結果
    スレッドテキスト→作成を実行してもスレッドテキストとならずコンテンツの状態もおかしい。

    回避策
    Tツールを使って手動でスレッドテキストをリンクさせる。

    縦組みに対するスレッドテキストオプションの挙動は全般おかしく、エリア内文字や矩形の構成や状態によって挙動が異なる場合がありますが、全般的に意図した通りに動作しない。
    また、おかしくなったエリア内テキストを手動でリンクさせようとするとIllustratorがクラッシュします。

18. Font drop down list won't allow font selection.

    Mac Studio
    Sequoia 15.6.1
    Adobe Illustrator 2026 version 30

    My font drop-down list allows me to preview fonts, but not select them. If I preview and click a new font to select it, the type window closes and my select text reverts to the original font. I've tried using the text tool and the selection tool - same problem. To change a font, I must type the ENTIRE NAME in the font window and hit return. Very time consuming. :(

19. More than 1 Placed Item that has been named loses name in 29.6.1

    Place 2 linked items. Rename each item in the layer panel to Item 1 and item 2. Save File as Template or Document. Reopen. Only the first name appears. The second appears as <Linked File>. Any others also are renamed to <Linked File>. This is crucial to automation of template files to replace linked files and needs to be fixed! Have no issues with 29.5

20. File names are broken on macOS scripts

    Bug reproduction:

    #target illustrator
    
    var file = File.openDialog("Select any file", "All files:*.*");
    var message = 'Results\nfile.name: "' + file.name + '"\nfile.displayName: "' + file.displayName + '"\nfile.localizedName: "' + file.localizedName + '"';
    alert(message);
    

    Save this as a script, run it in Illustrator on macOS and select any file.

    Expected outcome: An alert is displayed with all of the name attributes are populated
    Actual outcome: displayName and localizedName give empty string and undefined.

    Tested on macOS 15.7.1, Illustrator v29.8.2. Same script works on Windows 11.
