Overprint and darken doesn't work properly when it doesn't exist a background color.
Illustrator 25.4.1 (64 bit) in Windows 10
When we use darken+overprint in objects that are over some background, we don't have a problem. But if we don't have a background it does the similar to a multiply appearance.
Is there a way to fix this problem?

Envelope Distort with a top object that has curves with only one handle makes the contents tangled and broken
When I try to use envelope distort it makes all of the type look crazy. I have used it successfully in the past, I unchecked the distort button in options. Not sure how to solve, I restarted and reinstalled Illustrator — still not working. The attached image shows the 2 elements I am trying to distort and the bottom shows the result I get.

Scripting window keeps appearing and no way to remove it
Uninstalling/Reinstalling does not remove prompt. Starting appearing after most recent update to with the new ipad features. Going back to older version, the window doesn't appear.
6 votesThis issue is happening due to a security feature added in Illustrator to inform the user if any external application tries to execute a script in Illustrator.

We heard from some users that above solution is not working for them, we are investigating this issue. Meanwhile users can try the below workaround
Create a JSX file with the following content:
app.preferences.setBooleanPreference(“ShowExternalJSXWarning”, false);
Save the above JSX file. Now, go to File > Scripts > Other Script, and choose the newly saved jsx file.This will suppress the warning dialog and run the script.

Drag to select Text in fields broken with update
In the properties panel we are no longer able to drag to select the text in text fields. Very frustrating. This doesn't seem to be an issue in other text fields throughout the UI, mainly the properties panel.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Text is Invisible - All Fonts, All Colors, Sizes, View Modes, Etc.
Windows 10, 12GB RAM, Nvidia 850M, i7-4710HQ (Laptop) - But I have also had this issue on a beefy desktop
Illustrator Version 26.0.2
Recent attempts to use illustrator on my desktop and laptop have yielded an app that cannot render text in any form. I have tried every solution offered thus far -- resetting preferences, checking text fill and stroke, ensuring opacity is Normal, etc. and nothing fixes this bug. I have restarted the computer and reinstalled the program. For my work this is a program-breaking bug.

All confimation boxes closing
Everytime I do an action that recquires a confirmation box - such as Save Document, Rasterize Text, etc - the box closes in less than a second, making impossible to do anything. So, when I'm working I can't save - and sometimes can't even shut down the program because all boxes closes in a blink.
Im using the last AI version and Windows 11. Can someone help me? :(

Enabling Rulers or entering Outline or Isolation mode completely disables GPU Preview
Illustrator Version: 25.2.1
Mac OS: 11.2.3 Big Sur
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
CPU: 2.3GH-z 8-Core i9
Memory 664 GB 2667MHz DDR4
Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8GBDisplays: 2x LG UN850 4K Displays (Connected via Thunderbolt) + Built in MBP Display
Reproduce steps:
Restart Machine
Launch Illustrator upon startup
Create New Blank Document
Press Cmd+R to enable Rulers
Click "view" under main menu and see "View Using GPU" grayed outDid not have this issue with prior versions of Illustrator or Mac OS
Temporary Fix:
Save file with rulers hidden
Re-Open document
Should default to having GPU on

- Please share the details of the Ai version (desktop) you are using.
- If possible , it would be helpful for us to reproduce the issue if you could share the files with which you constantly face the issue.

CC Libraries Convert "/" to Groups Popup Prompt
CC Libraries Convert "/" to Groups Popup Prompt will not go away when "back to libraries" is selected after a click on anything in libraries pops back up again preventing any access to library. After much frustration, clicked "Convert" and has now destroyed the organization of my library by creating many empty groups and arbitrarily grouping other items.
This was a huge library that took a lot of time to build, so I would love if it could be restored to its original stated before this "improvement".

Error when trying to "Save as" a file
Hi I had been having an error were illustrator doesn't let me use the option of "save as" and whenever that happens I have to close the program an re-open again. There's no error message is just like I click on "Save as" and nothing happens

No "Smallest File Size" option in dropdown menu when saving PDF
My only options for saving a PDF are "Custom" and "Illustrator Default" I've lost "Smallest File Size" and "Press Quality" options.
I need to save small PDF versions in order to send in emails ALL day, so this is a big issue for me.
OS Monterey 12.3 , and beta version of Ai that's newer than Ai 2022...
BECAUSE Ai 2022 won't let me save ANY files to my computer (I've checked to make sure it had permission.) It's a HUGE problem, that basically makes my job impossible to do.1 vote -
Documents are marked as changed immediately after opening in 25.4.1.
Since updating to 25.4.1, many documents are marked as having been edited immediately after opening them, instead of after actually changing anything.
I have not yet tracked down if there is anything documents doing this have in common. The more effects they have in them, the more likely they are to have this happen.
I've attached one of the simpler documents that's displaying this behavior.

Duplicated symbols reverts to originals / or not!!
Illustrator 25.3.1 on MacOS Big Sur 11.4
Let's say I have 3 symbols, A, B and C.
A is the original symbol in my external Symbol Library file (blue in the attached video)
B is that symbol, imported into my current file and modified (I changed it to green in the video)
C is a duplicate of B, in my current file, also modified (red in the video)When I copy C, I expect C to be pasted. But it's actually B.

同一ファイル内にドキュメントをドラッグ&コピーした時にコピー元のドキュメントのテキストスレッドに異常が発生する件
CC2022を使用しています。
テキストスレッドで作成したレイヤーを含むファイル内で、ドラッグ&コピーで新規のドキュメントを作成すると、コピー元のドキュメントのテキストスレッドの最後に文章が勝手に追加されてしまう現象が発生しました。(コピーした方のドキュメントのテキストスレッドには異常は出ないです。)1 voteIllustrator 製品版フィードバックへのご協力ありがとうございます。
検証では、以下のような結果となりました。
- 提供いただいたデータで再現確認ができました。
- 新規ドキュメントで同様のデータを作成しても、再現ができませんでした。
- 提供いただいたデータを別のドキュメントにコピー&ペーストし、アートボードの複製を行っても再現できませんでした。
- 関連しない他のデータでは問題が発生しない。
こちらは、データ依存の問題と思われますので、対応完了とさせていただきます。
再現方法などのアップデートがありましたら、ご報告いただければと存じます。

Brush strokes get displaced from their paths in large canvas documents
I found a bug that affects the placement of stroke art in relation to its stroke path. When creating a document that needs a canvas that's larger than 227" it results in paths being offset from their original path without any additional effects. When creating a document that has a 227" canvas the stroke art is correctly aligned to their path.

Illustrator fails miserably to correctly open/interpret most SVG files
Half the time when I get sent SVG files and try to open them, the result is strange error messages, and often a completely messed up result, often with elements completely missing.
I tried to attach an SVG sample, but seems this website doesnt support SVG either (and zipping didn't help). Doh. Didn't work to paste the code either.

Bug in the preview of the gradients in the latest version of the illustrator.
In the latest version of Illustrator 25.4.1 the gradient preview appears broken. The same file opened in the lower 2019 version of Illustrator does not have this problem.

GPU performance causes screen artefacts
In AI 25.4, when GPU Performance is enabled, at some point when working on a file, or switching between screens, thin vertical and horizontal black lines will appear. They seem to flash on and off for a second or more as though Illustrator is switching between tabs or other open applications.
I've tried to take a screenshot/video when this happens but it doesn't show up, if you look at the screenshot/video, it's as though those lines were never there.
When GPU Performance is disabled, the issue goes away.

Fix Creative Cloud - files can't be retrieved but cloud says no sync errors
Operating system: MacOS Big Sur Version 11.6
Adobe Illustrator: 25.4.1Trying to open a cloud document but they don't seem to exist/can't be opened as I cannot access my docs in the cloud.
I have restarted, updated etc etc and still, when I want to access my cloud docs Illustrator says "Something went wrong, please restart the app and try again"
I've also tried accessing from the Creative Cloud app where I have gone to my library and my cloud documents, nothing loads up - it just spins seemingly forever.
Weirdly though, in Illustrator on my iPad Pro it says…5 votes -
Drop Shadow Deletion Crashes Illustrator
I can apply a drop shadow to a shape, and then when I copy & paste that shape and try to remove the drop shadow from the copied version, the application crashes.

Illustrator RulerUnits returns Unknown for 'Feet' and 'Feet and Inches'
Illustrator recently added 'Feet' and 'Feet and Inches' to the available ruler units; however, when a user selects one of these units, the scripting side returns 'RulerUnits.Unknown' for 'activeDocument.RulerUnits'.
For scripting, the corresponding 'RulerUnits.*' value should be added so that developers can respond to the selected units.
