1. Align Objects and Distribute objects tools changed behavior

   Windows 10, Illustrator CC 22.1

   Align to right and align to top are the only alignment tools functioning correctly in all three alignment modes (artboard, key object, selection). None of the distribution tools are working in any mode.

   In the 22.1 update, the Align Objects and Distribute objects tools changed behavior. Before, if I selected say, 5 objects and clicked the Align Horizontal Center tool, they would align on a mutual horizontal center. Now, they align to the center of the artboard, apparently, which is often completely offscreen when I’m zoomed in. This is a very confusing and almost totally un-useful behavior. The same thing happens with Distribute objects on Vertical Centers.

   I can’t imagine why one would want these features locked to the artboard. It makes them completely useless.

3. eyedropper does not pick brushes

   the eyedropper tool will not pick up and the selected brush that was applied to another line.

4. Unknown error when re-linking image

   When I re-link an image I get a message saying "An unknown error has occurred."
   I am adding this to the growing list of problems since upgrading to 2019.

6. Unreliable EPS export from CC 2020

   If I export a multilayered Illustrator file as an EPS from CC 2020, layers are not saved with the correct ones activated when the EPS is opened in Illustrator once again.

   When I complete the same task in CC 2019 the layers are saved correctly.

   This means that CC 2020 is not usable in its current state as a reliable production tool for generate EPS files.

7. command + z

   illustrator newest version 2020 in use:
   it has issues in reverting the latest action. the one before the latest and all the previous are reverted while that last 1 stays the same.

   lets say

   1- line modification towards left
   2- line resized
   3- point of line modified from point A towards B

   when pressing cmd+z only the actions nr 2 and nr1 are rverted. the position of the line in the nr3 doesnt go from B back to A. stays in B..

8. Save artboards as individual files - File name bug

   When I try to save an .ai and check "Save each artboard as a seperate file"
   Illy should create each file with my chosen file name, plus appended with the name of each artboard.
   Except sometimes it fails to append the correct artboard name. I always rename my artboards, and sometimes it just adds the default dartboard name.

   I'm on:
   2017 iMac
   macOS Catalina 10.15.2 (19C57)

   and,

   Illustrator 24.0.3

9. Justification doesn't work right

   In a block of justified text, when you fine tune the justification settings to spread the letters more evenly and avoid white gaps, the justification gets broken.
   (In Indesign the same procedure works perfectly.)

   On my screenshot you see the default setting on the left, and on the right with the letter and glyph spacing set to slightly decreased minimum and slightly increased maximum values – and the justification is gone…

10. Breaking links for several selected symbols at once doesn’t work

    At the moment it is not possible to unlink several selected symbols at once with the context menu command. Illustrator will unlink the symbol that is at the top in the layer panel.

    If you use the symbol menu command to unlink the symbols all selected symbols are unlinked.

11. All tools and actions are slow and lagging, random selection in Ilustrator 2020

    All tools lagging. cursor selects items randomly and drags them around when non having been selected. Illustrator 2020 CC installed

12. Text shifts to the left when updating in new version 23.1.1

    When updating the text (created in old version 22.1 ) on new version 23.1.1 the text shifts to the left. This is very annoying.

13. Flashing screen when loading multiple files at once

    When multiple files are loaded at one time when the Application Frame is disabled it will result in an annoying screen flicker/blinking of each file loading as a new window. The more files that are loaded at once the more blinking you will be blinded by.

    Usually of Illustrator preloads all of the files first and then loaded the main window/set of tabs, as apposed to loading each tab one at a time with this visual annoyance.

    I've tested this on earlier on Illustrator 23.1.1 on High Sierra and this issue does not occur.

    It does occur on my primary iMac running Mojave.

    My Setup:
    iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
    4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB
    AMD Radeon R9 M395 2GB

    Resolution: 5120 x 2880
    Mac OS 10.14.4

    I am installing Catalina now to confirm if the issue occurs along with other more extreme white flickering issues.

14. Workspaces not working, all panels hidden on start up.

    Just update to CC23.0.1 and when I start up Illustrator all the panels are turned off and my workspace won't change or reset.

    I can turn on the panels manually, but it resets when I close Illustrator. The reset, new workspace and manage workspaces options are greyed out. If I try to change the workspace nothing happens.

    Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit
    Intel i7-7700
    16GB Ram
    GeForce GTX 750 Ti

15. overprint preview not working properly

    This is new to me as of today. This is a process I have done hundreds of times in the past with no issue. I have not received or updated anything over the past week other than any Adobe updates I receive via the Creative Cloud.

    What I do is create a separate layer in a file to set up a kiss cut for cutting vinyl. I use a spot colour for this - same spot colour I have been using since day one.

    I apply the spot colour to the text or object - in this case a box with rounded corners. There are other objects - outlined text - that have the same effect applied to it.

    I created the box separately.

    I select everything on the layer I want to use to create a kiss cut for.

    I apply a 1 pt stroke to everything. I open the Attributes panel and set the stroke to overprint.

    I go to the Separations Preview and select Overprint Preview.

    Everything on the kiss cut layer shows that it is overprinting correctly except the box. All of the outlined text is fine - only the box is not behaving as expected.

    I quit Illustrator.

    I reopen Illustrator.

    The box now appears to be behaving correctly and shows that it is overprinting properly.

    I am working on an iMac, Retina 5K, Late 2015, 27-inch screen

    3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
    24 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 RAM
    AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB graphics card.

    Quitting and reopening is not an ideal solution.

    As mentioned, I've not had any issue until today.

16. Illustrator ignores bounding box in standard EPS

    1. Details of your operating system and version of Adobe Illustrator
       Windows 10 Pro (1809) & Mac OSX 10.14.6
       Illustrator 24.0.1 (64-bit) and older

    2. The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues
       Opening a standard EPS file which follows the Adobe EPS specification as mentioned in https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/actionscript/articles/5002.EPSF_Spec.pdf (e.g. EPS produced by Affinity Designer, InkScape, QuarkXPress, etc.).

    3. Your expected result
       Illustrator should show the correct bounding box (artboard) as defined in the EPS header. The following minimum requirements are set out on page 6 of the specification linked above: »An application importing an EPS file must parse the EPS file for DSC comments and extract at least the bounding box and resource dependencies of the EPS file.«

    4. Your actual result
       Illustrator does not show the correct bounding box as defined in the EPS header. Illustrator instead shows the bounding box used in the last opened file.

17. Changing the order of objects does not get rendered

    Layer stacks change not applied on different window (v24.0.2).
    On different window, the change of the object stacks (Ctrl + ] or [) doesn't seem to apply. Every time I change the order of the object, I have to close the window on the other and open it and place it again. This is so frustrating.

18. My brush does not display stroke

    Im drawing in illustrator and when I got to the brush tool and draw it sometimes shows a dot or it doesn't show anything at all. When I release after drawing it shows the stroke but the finished product. You can see how annoying this is when sketching an idea. It just draws but doesn't show the brush outline before you release to make the line.

19. Simplify Path Creates New Shape on a New Layer on Each Adjustment

    Hi! I was trying to use the Simplify Path tool in the latest Illustrator 2019 (23.0.6) and I am getting this weird error. If I have the preview mode selected, each time I make an adjustment in the dialog box a new layer is created. By default, it selects that new shape to update the path without a clear way to go back unless you go to the original layer and begin again in which the whole process starts over. If this is supposed to be an improvement in the feature I'm not quite sure how? Please let me know if this is an error or how to turn off this feature.

20. Average Path Behavior changed in Illustrator 2020

    It's pretty simple. Press the key command for Path/Average. The dialog pops up. Options are Both, Horizontal, or Vertical. The way it used to work was that you could press the cursor key on your keyboard for up, just once and it would land on vertical. Press again for Horizontal. But in 2020, it's different. Press "up" arrow once for Vertical. Press again and it remains on Vertical. Cancel the whole window and start over. Now, instead of pressing the up arrow, press the down arrow once, and it lands on Horizontal. Press again and it stays on Horizontal. So the new functionality is effectively, up arrow for vertical, and down arrow for horizontal. It is no longer to press the up arrow twice to cycle through the options.
