  2. Unit issue with DXF exported from Illustrator

    Hello,
    Units are not correct when exporting DXF files from Illustrator CC.

    A 100 mm diameter circle exported from illustrator CC (22.0.1) is opened in Creo Parametric 4.0 (M070) and measures 2540 mm.

    My CC options are in millimeters
    $INSUNITS in DXF file should be defined to 4 = Millimeters
    Actually it is exported with 1 and this is incorrect.

    Changing $INSUNITS from 1 to 4 in Notepad is not a sustainable solution !

  3. Gradient tool issues

    1. Handles on on object's Gradient Annotator are difficult to adjust once a gradient has been dropped. Usually, handles simply don't respond. User needs to start from scratch and create a brand new gradient rather than make small adjustments to existing ones.

    2. Repeated but not consistent bug: adjusting one gradient causes changes to unrelated gradients on same document.

    3. Live preview of gradient tool is prohibitively slow, esp when gradient is anywhere near an existing Effect.

    FIX: Allow us to toggle the preview effect.

  4. Type tool not working properly

    Running Windows 10 and Ai version 24.0.2
    Trying to hit a return between words in a text sentence, neither the backspace or delete or enter work. No it's not a keyboard issue, since it works with any other program without a problem. This bug is also happening to several machines in the work place consistently. We need to close the whole application so it responds to this text command issue, but after having the document open for a little time it does it again.
    I expect to be able to edit my text... this is a big one...

  6. text selection bug still happening with 24.03

    When you click on text to move it around on the artboard it always selects what is BEHIND the text box only, unless you click 1 pixel below text baseline exactly. I click on the text inside of the box to move it and it keeps moving my background. I have to zoom in 150% to see baseline and move text. This has REALLY slowed down my process.
    I'm on a MacOS 10.14.6

  7. Expand appearance stopped working for offset path on illustrator 2020

    Sometimes there's no way to expand the offset path you created. Some other times it works, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug

  8. Compound path outside stroke becomes a fill at certain shapes and sizes

    I have some outlined text. When I give it a stroke aligned to outside, some of the counters are properly stroked, and some appear filled. If I distort the counters that are filled to be larger, they switch to a stroked appearance.

    Envelope Distort > Make with warp > when changing % bend it keeps adding the new value to the old. If I have the slider at 20%, then change it to 10%, it warps the object as if it was set to 30%, before I've even hit OK.

  10. multi-GPU setups cause Illustrator to glitch out and become unresponsive

    I've got a two-GPU computer. If I'm using GPU preview mode, after working for a while (around 20-30 mins or more), the entire Illustrator UI will glitch out and become very artifact-y and unresponsive, and I can no longer work on the files I've got open, necessitating a restart of the app.

    This started happening right after I upgraded from one GPU to two, about a year ago. It happens only in GPU preview mode, not CPU. I've tried updating GPU drivers, updating Illustrator itself--nothing fixes the problem. I've seen other people online with multi-GPU setups say the same thing…

  11. Attempting to Save an Illustrator File causes Mac to Restart.

    This has happened almost every time I have tried to save a large Illustrator file. It is pretty much a lottery as to if the file will save or if I have to start again or recover what I have lost. I don't know what is the cause or how to fix it.

  12. Can't save. Crashes constantly. Lose Transform controls randomly and have to restart.

    2020 is awful. When it's not crashing, it's telling me it's crashed. Now it refuses to save my work and copying and pasting it's only picking up half what I copy. Awful, awful. I'm on a 2019 Macbook pro.

  13. AI 24.0.1 image embed

    I'm using Illustrator 24.0.1 on Mac. When saving Illustrator file even with Include Linked Files box checked, linked files are automatically embedded.

    Please fix as this is a big issue especially with replacing updated images. Instead of updating automatically, each file has to be replaced again.

  14. When I enter and open an Ai file, it starts one more illustrator application.

    I am working on updated version of Adobe illustrator cc 24.0.1 (64 bit) ruining on windows 10 .

    If I have already opened my application and then hit enter on any AI or EPS file to open it, it launches another application of illustrator while the first one is also running . So, at a time two same applications run on my system.

    I want to open that file in same application.

  15. Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps

    Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps. If you click on the stroke, you can't type in the input. Type highlight is grey, not blue showing that something is keeping the selection from being active.

  16. Update link

    After I updated the 2020 version of the apps, illustrator started to fail. When I modify a photoshop file it takes several minutes to update on illustrator and my computer stops working. It takes like 5 minutes to update the link so i can keep working, before this version the update was automatic.

    1. Select an object
    2. Move object
    3. Paste Hex code into color panel, hit enter
    4. Paste Hex code into color panel, hit enter
    5. Paste Hex code into color panel, hit enter
    6. press 'cmd+z' (undo) The color changes are skipped undo jumps to 1. (Undo: Move object)

  18. Export for Screens: bad antialiasing and jagged edges on images within (especially rotated) when exported to JPG

    Images from artboards containing embedded raster files output using Export for Screens are of decidedly lower quality than those output from Save for Web. Please see the attached image for a side-by-side comparison. Save for Web is on the left, Export for Screens on the right. Top images are actual size, bottom enlarged for emphasis. Notice the jaggies in the raster images.

    According to Abhishek Rao here, disabling 'Export in Background' in Preferences > File Handling helps to workaround the problem (until the actual fix). Make sure you enable 'Art Optimized (Supersampling)' as an anti-aliasing option in Export for Screens settings as well.

  19. Illustrator Brush/Blob brush Lag Issue

    Windows 10 Pro
    After latest Illustrator update, all brush tools are lagging - blob brush & brush. (using either mouse and tablet) Before an update everything works fine.
    Restart and making more disk space didn't help.

  20. Action using the Transform panel will not keep settings after restart of Illustrator

    I created action that use the Transform panel, when closing and restarting Illustrator the action gives the error THE OBJECT "ALIGNEMENT" IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. Action does work under Illy CC 2018 (version 22.1).

    Currently using version 23.0.1
    OSX High Sierra.
