1. Swatches disappear in Swatches panel when switching between documents

   I've got two documents open. An RGB one, and a CMYK one. When I CMD+TAB between the two, all the current swatches disappear. I have to click on a different 'view swatches' button to make them appear. This happens EVERY TIME. I just updated to the latest version of Illustrator thinking it would fix it, but it doesn't.

2. PDF/X-4で書き出す際にダウンサンプルされる

   再現手順
   1.800ppiのモノクロ2開帳の画像をドキュメントに原寸で配置する。
   2.ファイル→コピーを保存を実行、PDF形式を選択し次のダイアログでプリセット「PDF/X-4:2008（日本）」を選択して保存する。
   3.PDFを開いて配置した画像を調べると300ppiにダウンサンプルされている。

   期待する結果
   800ppiのままダウンサンプルされずに保存される。

   実際の結果
   配置したビットマップ画像は300ppiにダウンサンプルされる。

   このプリセットでは実行解像度が1800ppiを超えた際に1200ppiにダウンサンプルされるように設定されている。配置状態で800ppiの画像はダウンサンプルの条件に当てはまらない為ダウンサンプルされてはいけない。
   また、300ppiという数値はモノクロビットマップ画像を取り扱うには致命的に低い解像度と言える。

   回避方法
   ビルトインのPDF/X-4プリセットは利用せず、同等のプリセットを自身で作成して利用する。その他、プリプレス関連メーカーが配布するPDF/X-4プリセットを利用しても良い。

   2. Select File→Save a copy, choose PDF format, and in the next dialog, select the preset "PDF/X-4:2008 (日本)" and save the file.
   3. Open the PDF file in Acrobat and check the placed image to find that it has been downsampled to 300ppi.

   Expected result
   The image is saved without being downsampled to 800ppi.

   Actual result
   The placed bitmap image is downsampled to 300ppi.

   The preset is set to downsample to 1200ppi when the resolution exceeds 1800ppi. Images with a resolution of 800ppi in the placed state should not be downsampled because they do not meet the conditions for downsampling.
   In addition, 300ppi is a fatally low resolution for handling monochrome bitmap images.

   Workaround
   Do not use the built-in PDF/X-4 preset, but create an equivalent preset yourself. You can also use PDF/X-4 presets distributed by prepress-related manufacturers.

   4. 効果部分がドロップシャドウだけでなく、半調になったテキストが含まれる。

   期待する結果
   ドロップシャドウのみがテキストに追加される。

   実際の結果
   カラーフォントを指定したテキストはドロップシャドウ部分に不透明度が低下した状態のテキストが含まれる。

4. Object edge highlight color reverts to black while moving objects.

   Ever since the illustrator 2026 update, when I move objects the highlight color changes to black like in the attached video. I'm currently running 30.3 and it seems like it has only become more and more prevalent. Obviously this isn't great when you're working against a darker color in the background. Is this a feature that I've missed a checkbox to turn off or is this a glitch? For the techy peeps I'm running a MacBook pro Intel (2017 I think) and I'm on Tahoe 26.3.1.

   Stopped happening after reinstalling Ai anew. If this happens to you still and the same doesn’t work, please comment and share your setup specs.

5. Copy via Layers panel “target” selection doesn’t populate external clipboard (works only with Selection Tool)

   When selecting objects using the target (circle) icon in the Layers panel, copy/paste works inside Illustrator but fails when pasting into external applications (e.g. Figma, TextEdit).

   The same objects, when selected using the Selection Tool, copy/paste correctly across apps.

   Tested on AI 30.3 & 29.8.6 on Mac Tahoe 26.3.1

   Steps to reproduce
   - Create a simple shape (e.g. rectangle or circle)
   - In the Layers panel, click the target icon (circle) for the object
   Press Cmd+C
   - Switch to another app (e.g. Figma, Sketch, TextEdit, browser)
   Paste (Cmd+V)

   Actual result
   - Nothing is pasted in external applications
   - Clipboard appears empty or unsupported

   Expected result
   - Objects should be correctly copied to the system clipboard
   - Paste should work in external apps (PDF/SVG/AICB formats), same as when using the Selection Tool

6. Layer thumbnails are not displaying properly (CPU Preview)

   Issue: Layer thumbnails are cropped based on previous zoom state.

   When you open a document that's been previously saved in a zoomed-in state, all visible layers' thumbnails will only show the elements that are visible in the zoom view. That is, elements that were out of view when the document was saved, are no longer visible in their layer thumbnail after reopening the document.

   How to reproduce

   1. Make sure "GPU Performance" is turned OFF in the preferences.

   2. Create or open a document that has many elements in it.

   3. Zoom into a particular area of the document, purposely cropping other parts of the document out of view.

   4. Save the document.

   5. Close and reopen the document.

   6. Notice how the layers' thumbnails only display the elements that were in view.

   Another possibly related bug is when creating elements via scripting. Elements generated outside of the current view are immediately not visible in their layer's thumbnail.

   Some notes:

   • This only occurs when "GPU Performance" is explicitly switched OFF in the preferences (not by using CTRL+E or "View > View using CPU/GPU").

   • This only occurs for layers that are visible. Layers that had their visibility toggled off are not affected.

   • I believe the last version of Illustrator that did not have any of these problems was Illustrator 2024 (v28).

   If needed, I can provide more details and/or screen recordings of the bugs. Just let me know.

7. Scroll wheel is very slow and unresponsive in Adobe Illustrator 30.0

   Since updating to 30.0 today, the UI seems very slow, particularly when using the scroll wheel to navigate the canvas.

8. フォントアクティベートがイラレで反映されない

   AdobeCCから新規フォントをアクティベートONをしても、イラレの方では反映されません。
   また、イラレのフォントパネルから検索→クラウドからインストールする場合は永遠と読み込み中になり、少し時間が経つと読み込みもなくなってしまいます。

   ・AdobeCCの再インストール→再起動
   ・AdobeCCでのフォント無効化　ON/OFF
   ・イラレ側でのフォント自動アクティベート外す
   ・フォントのキャッシュ削除

   など試みましたが改善無しです。
   必要なフォントが使用できずかなり困っています。

9. Swatch color values get adjusted proportionally when pasting a value with Ctrl/Win+V

   New Swatch dialog always adjust values proportionally when just pasting a value.

   Here are the steps to reproduce the bug (and the GIF):

   1. In a new CMYK document create a global swatch with CMYK 33 10 33 0
   2. Confirm, edit the swatch again
   3. Copy '20' value as text from anywhere
   4. Paste the value into the M input — using Ctrl/Win+V (I’m on Windows)

   Ai would turn both '33' values into '66', doubling it, as if Ai thinks I want to adjust values proportionally — as if I HOLD Ctrl when CONFIRMING the value — while I haven’t confirmed it yet...
   If I paste using Shift+Insert, the values stay unchanged as expected.

   It could have been a nice trick, to choose if I want to proportionally change values or not — similar to how some panels in Ai allow to temporarily constrain values with Ctrl held, like Color or Transform — but... we have no way to just PASTE without it :)

   New Swatch dialog always adjust values proportionally when just pasting a value.

   Here are the steps to reproduce the bug (and the GIF):

10. Breaks in gradients/gradients not rendering/pixels missing

    I'm having issues with exporting artwork from Illustrator, which features a stroke (100pt, round cap) with a gradient (2x colours in gradient, applied along the stroke).

    My operating system:
    MacOS Tahoe 26.2

    The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop):
    • V30.1and a version 2x updates before
    • A member of the Adobe support group tested my supplied file against other versions of Illustrator and found it is reproducible in at least Illustrator 2023.

    The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues:
    1. Selected File > Export > Export as
    2. Selected ‘PNG’ from format dropdown
    3. Selected ‘Use Artboards’, ‘All’
    4. Clicked ‘Export’
    5. From PNG options export window selected:
    - Resolution: High (300ppi)
    - Anti-aliasing: Type Optimised (hinted)
    - Interlaced: Left unchecked
    - Background colour: Transparent
    6. Clicked ‘Ok’

    Your expected result and the actual result:
    My expected result: A solid gradient along my path in my preferred exported format.
    Actual result: A path with weird white breaks, almost like some pixels are missing or are not rendering correctly.

    Other info for reference:
    I've tried:
    • Exporting a png directly from illustrator, it appears
    • Expanding the stroke and exporting, it appears
    • I've started a new doc and pasted it in there and exported, still appears
    • I've increased the resolution of gradients in my doc setup setting, still appears when exporting.
    • I’ve exported the png with CPU preview switched on, still appears
    • I’ve exported the png with CPU preview switched on and ticked Optimise Art in the PNG settings, still appears.
    • Added extra points to the path, still appears. Note from community member that suggested this and tried themselves on my supplied file: “I didn't see any of the strange glitches along the stroke in GPU Preview regardless of zoom level. But they did show up when switching to CPU Preview. I found that I could make a lot of the tiny white glitches disappear by adding more anchor points to the path. The white glitches also tend to change position or appear/disappear depending on the zoom level. Adding points isn't a 100% good approach though. Even when adding a lot of points to the path a couple white speckles might still appear depending on the zoom level.”

    When it does NOT appear:
    • Placing the AI file into indesign, exporting it as a png
    • Exporting as a jpg from Illustrator
    • When you expand the stroke with a solid colour, then manually set the gradient with the free form gradient setting and adding in your points to create the gradual fade from one colour to another. > my current solution to the problem

    I've checked the artwork and there's no extra points, weird shapes sitting on top of the path. I've given the artwork file to another colleague and posted it in the adobe support group and no one can figure out what the issue is.

11. Slow launch time

    Latest GM and Beta versions of Illustrator take far too long to launch from cold. Currently taking 15+ seconds to launch on an M2 Pro, whereas 12 months ago it was taking 3-4 seconds. Photoshop and InDesign launch faster, Acrobat Pro launches faster. This needs fixing ASAP please.

12. Objects with Perceptual Gradients applied (and no Dither) gets rasterized fully on PDF export, instead of becoming clipped rasters

    It still rasterizes the whole object, rather than converting it to a clipped bitmap (unless you also enable Dither though).

13. Live Paint + Eyedropper recolors entire Live Paint group (macOS)

    Product/Version: Adobe Illustrator 2026 — v30.1
    OS: macOS 26.2 (Build 25C56)

    Issue:
    When a Live Paint group is selected, using Live Paint Bucket (K) and Option/-click to temporarily switch to the Eyedropper samples a color but also recolors all faces inside the Live Paint group to that sampled color. This prevents using the Eyedropper to “pick a color to paint with” without changing existing fills.

    Expected result as in previous versions: Option-click while using Live Paint should only sample/set the active paint color, without changing existing faces in the Live Paint group.

    Actual result: All faces in the selected Live Paint group change to the sampled color.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    - Create artwork with multiple enclosed faces and group them
    - Select the group with Selection Tool (V)
    - Switch to Live Paint Bucket (K) and click a face to create a Live Paint group.
    - Hold Option/Alt (temporary Eyedropper) and click a color on another object.

    Observe: the entire Live Paint group’s faces recolor to the sampled color.

    Frequency: 100% (whenever the Live Paint group is selected)

    Workaround: Deselect all (Cmd+Shift+A) before sampling, then continue painting, or option+shift with eyedropper.

14. Hitting Down with an artboard selected in Artboards panel now moves it on canvas instead of in the list

    In the newest update, if I have an artboard highlighted in the panel and I hit the down arrow, it used to go down the artboard list. But now it nudges the actual artboard.
    I acknowledge that nudging artboards could maybe be useful for something (though I can't think of what) but being able to navigate the list with arrows is much more valuable in my opinion.

    To navigate artboards in the the panel, without zooming into them, hold Opt/Alt with arrows keys (up/down work the same way as left/right).

15. Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.

    macOS Tahoe 26.2
    Adobe Illustrator (Desktop version) 30.2.1

    Changing the Japanese font in the Type tool does not update it.
    This occurs even when "Enable missing glyph protection" is initially set to OFF and no other settings are changed.

    This does not occur in macOS Vetura13.7.8

16. Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool

    Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool. Its been happening for a few weeks. I work in a professional big corporate company and its changing my layouts after I am doing changes and it is really problematic.

    This needs fixing right away. In packaging if some text is changed after I make layout changes it can have serious legal ramifications.

17. Strange loops and spikes when using pressure-sensitive brushes with XP-Pen Tablet on Illustrator 29.3 and newer on Windows 11

    My system:
    Windows 11, Version 25H2 (Windows Ink is deactivated, tried with activated too).
    Old tablet: Artist 12 Pro (XP-Pen)
    New tablet: XP-Pen Deco Pro MW
    I tried all available Illustrator versions (I will explain later).

    I am getting very weird and inconsistent strokes when drawing with a tablet and the Blob Brush Tool (please see screenshot and video attached EDIT: video too big pls see the article from the other forum, the video is posted there).

    I did a ton of troubleshooting (new drivers, new installations, new Windows installation, new tablet, different settings in Illustrator, the tablet, the graphics card, etc.). I also worked on a different PC - same problem.

    Then I tried different Illustrator versions and noticed that the problem appears in version 29.3 and newer.
    In 29.1 and 29.2 the paths look fine. (I am working with 29.2 at the moment as 29.1 had a bugged Smooth Tool.)

    My theory:
    Since this only appears with the Blob Brush, I think Illustrator somehow messes up the outer strokes of the Blob Brush. (Maybe this is even related to the bugged Smooth Tool in 29.1?) But I can't find any settings that affect the shape the Blob Brush creates.

    So here I am - thanks for reading, any help would be greatly appreciated.

18. Font styles applied to portions of text 'slide' / shift positions when area type overflows

    Illustrator 29.7.1 on Mac Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91)

    I dont' know whether it's related to this current issue, but now I have parts of my text that change appearance when I'm trying to change the Font weight of another part, or when I try to type more text.

    The workaround I have found it copy-pasting the text into a new Textbox. But still, this needs to be fixed.

    We have fixed this issue in latest Illustrator release - v29.8.1

    Please update to this version and let us know any observations.

19. プレビュー用のPDFの文字が化けました

    macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
    Adobe Illustrator v29.7.1
    他社で作成されたCentury Gothic Regular が使われているIllustratorドキュメント（作成バージョンは29.7）を開いて修正して保存した。
    このデータはInDesignドキュメントにリンク配置されていた。
    InDesignドキュメントの表示の、Century Gothicの数字が異なる数字になっていた。
    1→3、0→2 のように。
    修正した環境にはCentury Gothicがインストールされていない。Font Bookに表示されない。
    が、Illustratorはフォントエラーを表示することなく、開いた。
    PDFを書き出すと、正常に表示される。
    プレビューのPDFのみ化けている。
    その後、調べてみると、Illustrator内では「/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/FontServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Fonts/ApplicationSupport/CenturyGothic.ttc」が使用されていることがわかった。
    また、Illustrator v28.7.9ではプレビューのPDFが正常に表示された。
    さらに、「/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/FontServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Fonts/ApplicationSupport/CenturyGothic.ttc」を適当なFontsフォルダにインストールすると、Illustrator v29.7.1でもプレビューのPDFが正常に表示された。
    コミュニティの記述にv29.2.1までダウンバージョンすると様々なバグが回避できるとあったので、ダウンバージョンしてみたが、やはり化ける。
    v29.0までダウンバージョンしてみたが、全て化けた。
    再現方法としては、
    1. Century Gothicをライブラリ/Fonts フォルダに入れる
    2. Illustratorでドキュメントを新規作成
    3. 数字を入力
    4. 書体をCentury Gothic Regularにする
    5. 保存して閉じる
    6. Century Gothicをライブラリ/Fonts フォルダから外す
    7. 5.のドキュメントを開く
    8. 修正して保存（または別名保存）
    以上を、各バージョンのIllustratorで実行。
    InDesignに貼り付けるまでもなく、Finderのプレビューで確認できる。

    開発チームによると、macOS版Illustratorのフォント処理方法を変更し、一貫性を向上させ、サポートされていないシステムリソースへの依存度を低減したとのことです。その結果、Appleのガイドラインに従い、Illustrator 30.3以降ではシステムフォントが使用できなくなります。

    The fix has been pushed into the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check, and comment back if it still happens.

    According to the team, they changed font handling in Illustrator on macOS for better consistency and reduced reliance on unsupported system resources. As a result, system fonts won’t be accessible in Illustrator 30.3 and later, according to the Apple’s guidelines.

20. Unknown Error when saving

    Windows - Adobe Illustrator 2026

    When saving files for a proof - Press Quality, no editing, password, low resolution printing, no changes, no enabling copying of text - this error comes up on the first attempt every time.

    If I save it a second time, this error doesn't happen. I wasn't receiving this issue until I updated to 30.2.1, but it was rare. Now that I've updated to 30.3 it became every time I saved a new file for the first time. As much as I want the turntable feature, I'm going to have to use 30.1 again until the issue is resolved. Having this error come up so often is slowing down production.
