1. Character Panel Type, Leading and Scaling sizes have extra added decimals

   Ai 2025 v29.5 / Mac Sequoia 15.6 / M1 Macbook Pro / 32GB RAM - but happening on other macs with different configurations as well but same Ai version.
   We're noticing extra decimals are being added as shown in the attached screenshot. Despite choosing sizes from the drop-downs and then saving the file, the decimals return. I see a few others have posted about this previously but I haven't seen any resolution posts. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

2. Ai. files have no transparency

   I work with the latest illustrator (29.5. 1) and InDesign (20.3. 1). Since the last updates an .ai imported in InDesign is no longer transparent. If I save it as .eps in Ai, then yes. Please solve otherwise I would have to convert all my previously made .ai files.

3. Layer Assigned Color Changing Post Update

   Hello, After the update (August 12, 2025?) my Adobe Illustrator template layers change to black after saving a new project. I have built a template with many layers and assigned a color to each layer. After the update, when I open the template and save it as a new project, or simply update the template and save it, all layers that had an assigned color change to black. Is this a bug or an issue on my end?

4. Warning message for over 15 years "This file has been modified outside of Illustrator"

   There needs to be a way to disable this warning message. I have only seen this error in Illustrator, and it has been around for over 15 years with no solid solution. It appears to be related to file timestamps, but when a user is working on a file, saved on a file server, and they are the ONLY one who has access to the file, this error should NEVER appear. This error appears for Windows or Mac users, saving files on either a network or cloud storage location. So far, Adobe's solution is "just save the file locally". This is not a solution. There are many reasons files are not stored locally.
   It would be best to have the option to disable this file check Adobe is doing. It does not help anyone.

5. Bug: Typing a "+" to begin a point text object and then following it with a space will break the point text object.

   Typing a "+" to begin a point text object and then following it with a space will break the point text object. I have replicated on a completely separate machine with a different user. This is a bad bug for people trying to put a telephone number with a country code into a layout.

   1. Create a new point text object
   2. Type in "+ 123456789" (plus followed by a space followed by 123456789)

   • The cursor jumps forward, almost like a tab
   • Anything you type afterwards (like 123456789) is fine, and deletable, but the "+ " is there forever, and cannot be accessed the cursor.

   Expected behaviour:
   • The point text would just read "+ 123456789", and I would be able to edit all of the text.

6. Restore Highlighted Ruler Markers when moving objects

   This is a feature that was there before the last major updates. To explain, previously when you say, make a duplicate of one object and drag it across the artboard, you would see the little marker move across the ruler while holding the object. Since it is now gone, there is heavy guesswork going on when I'm trying to move close to a specific distance. This request is in regard to this tool only. I know all about distributing objects, etc. I'm just looking to restore this little feature that dropped from this tool.

7. macがスリープしない

   Illustrator2025へのバージョンアップ以降、Illustratorがバックグラウンドで起動している状態でmacがスリープしなくなりました。
   【対象デバイス：iMac2019(macos14 Sonoma),iMac2017(macos13 Ventura)】
   同じ職場で使用している複数台が同じ現象。
   スリープにならない状態からIllustratorアプリのみ終了したところ、通常通り指定の時間でスリープに入りました。
   これまで、スリープにならない場合の対策（再起動、ソフトウェアアップデート、NVRAMやPRAMのリセットなど）をしてきましたが解決には至りませんでした。
   一方で、M1iMac2021はアプリ起動中でもスリープになります。

10. Conversion from CMYK to Grayscale is wrong

    Converting CMYK values to Grayscale will not give the expected result. C=50 M=50 Y=50 K=50 converts to 100% Grayscale in a CMYK document.
    The same C=50 M=50 Y=50 K=50 converted to R: 92 G: 81 B: 76
    in an RGB document it converts to 67,16% Grayscale, which looks more like the expected Gray value.

11. Turn off Smooth Tool slider

    I'm not sure if this is a bug or I just don't know what I'm doing so apologies if this is no the right place to post.

    A few days ago I chose Object > Path > Smooth rather than using the Smooth tool as I normally do. A slider popped up which was actually rather useful. But now whenever I hold option to use the smooth tool (while using the Pencil), this slider dialog pops up directly over the area I am trying to see. Is there a way to turn this back off? Thanks!

    While there is still no way to completely disable the Smooth panel when the Smooth tool is picked, the bar now remembers its position and better picks the initial location.

    Please comment on this behavior and upvote if you think there still should be an option to not show it.

12. paste should be disabled while actively editing text

    Ctrl B and Ctrl F are still available to paste objects while user is actively editing text. This should not be allowed. Ctrl V does some kind of text only paste in the active text edit field (this makes sense) but hitting Ctrl B or Ctrl F (by default, paste in back/front) these will ACTUALLY paste artwork whatever it may be in the location copied from, WHILE the user is in the text edit field. This could mean unexpected behavior and user may not realize they pasted something as it may not even have drawn on screen. Editing text should be single threaded, and focused on editing text, or you're just going to limit the keyboard shortcut possibilities or confuse users.

13. I think its a Paragraph Style bug thats affecting the latest version of Illustrator 2025 version 29.7.1

    I recently updated to version 29.7.1 of Illustrator 2025. All of a sudden my template file started crashed Illustrator at startup. The file opens in Illustrator 2024 - but not 2025. Troubleshooting the file - slowly deleting bits and pieces from the template file I managed to discover that the bit that was crashing Illustrator 2025 was a single block of text. The block of text has a Paragraph style in it and I think it might be this which is causing the crash (or it could be something else? Fonts). I've isolated the block and pasted it into the attached file. It should open in 2024 - but will probably crash the 2025 version.

14. Properties is Missing the Pathfinder Options

    I use the Properties panel to make quick access to the Pathfinder options. I just fired up Illustrator ver 29.5.1 (64-bit) on my Surface Pro 3 (it's still chugging along!), and the there was a section missing. It usually appears right under Align, but it's not to be found. I tried increasing the size of the panel's tab, but there was nothing hidden below. I do clearly see a button to use Gen-Slop (no, thank you), but no Pathfinder.

    While I can still access the Pathfinder panel itself without issue, I preferred to keep my work space as uncluttered as possible. Anyone know where the options went, or if I unchecked an option somewhere?

    Pathfinder section in Properties appears only when more than one object is fully selected. If you need to see Pathfinder in all cases, including having only one point selected, like in this case, — use the dedicated Pathfinder panel instead.

    Illustrator doesn’t offer a way to customize Properties or lock specific sections. If this is something you need — please upvote this request.

15. Illustrator wrongly says texts were created in different version of Illustrator

    After the update, this message now appears, saying that my files were created in a different version. But it should be backwards compatible.

16. Home and End buttons in Find and Replace misbehave

    Pressing Home and End buttons in all Find and Replace input fields should properly place the cursor at the start and the end of the text, instead of picking first and last values from the dropdown lists (like in happens in the Font Browser).
    Home and End should pick the first/last items ONLY when the dropdowns are expanded!

19. Stroke gradient sometimes defaults to within stroke instead of across stroke when using eyedropper

    I have a path with a gradient across the stroke that I'm copying to other strokes using the eyedropper, and roughly 90% of the time it works fine, but sometimes it lags a little and then copies the appearance over except for the across stroke, instead setting itself to the stroke gradient default of within stroke. Obviously fixing this is only a couple button clicks, but still.

20. Measure tool / Info panel does not show area for for many things

    Recently Measure tool started to calculate are for selected / clicked objects, originally requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33527584

    However, it’s very basic.
    1. It does not show an area for objects with no fill
    2. No area for objects within a clipping mask
    3. No area for the visible area of a clipping group as a whole
    4. No area for an opaque raster image (not that hard to multiply two values)
    5. ...or for a partially transparent raster image (again, we can evaluate this manually, by using a fill + Outline Object trick)
    6. Nothing for meshes, live text, symbols, compound shapes...

    Finally, the Info panel requires you to pick the tool to start showing the area! Perhaps you should just show the area at all times?
