1. Unwanted automatic grouping of compound paths with blob brush tool

   When I draw too close to an existing path/compound path with the blob brush, it automatically groups the two (SEPERATE!) path together.
   It is "solved" if I check "merge only with selection" but that is not a real fix.

2. "on your computer" button does not work in the "save" dialog when "creative cloud" is selected as the default location to save files

   I just updated to 26.3.1. Made a new file, sketched in it, and hit 'save".

   I was presented with the Creative Cloud dialogue. I am not a fan of keeping stuff in the cloud so I hit the "on my computer" button; nothing happened. I swore, aborted the dialogue, and tried again to the same result.

   A little further experimentation suggests that it works sometimes if I click on the button again. Weird.

   OSX 11.6.4, Big Sur.

3. Cursor selections made within ui panels parameter fields do not respect dark mode on macos

   Selecting text or number values within ui panels in either light or dark mode, let alone any mode, should not rely on the os or allow the os to dictate textfield colors while that textfield has focus (e.g., text selection highlight color, text color, textfield background color). Instead always use just one neutral color for each regardless of the os display mode state.

   Screenshots show the selected text value (1575 px) within the Transform Panel > TextField [X pos] rendering correctly in macOS light mode and INcorrectly in dark mode.

4. Moving an object manually to align with another object, moves the wrong object

   Quite often, when moving an object to snap to another object or anchor point, the moved object jumps back to its original position while the other object or even sometimes an anchor point makes the move instead

5. Long ligature name causes AI crash

   I am a beta user of Font Awesome 6 and extensively use its desktop fonts with ligatures.

   Any attempt to produce the ligature made by the string starfighter-twin-ion-engine-advanced will crash AI (26.0.2, macOS Big Sur). I believe this is a length of ligature issue as other ligatures from this typeface family are unaffected, including starfighter-twin-ion-engine, and the alias of starfighter-alt-advanced works. (Perhaps ligatures of 32 or more characters?) I was able to reproduce this twice with the aforementioned ligature and again with down-left-and-up-right-to-center (32 chars). It does not occur in Photoshop, so it is an Ai problem, not a font issue.

7. Blurry PNG Export

   I've used Adobe Illustrator for the best part of 7 years, and not once have any of my exports (PNG, TIFF, SVG) have been blurry until today.

   I have tried everything, read every forum, watched videos, updated, reinstalled... the list goes on... but still all my exports for my art, design and graphics all come out blurry!!!!!!!

   I don't know what has changed since the latest update or whatever it may be. It is frustrating to have all that work and not be able to have a crisp export.

   When zooming in my PNG exports they were crisp and would not see pixelation, but now all I see are pixels.

   I've used Adobe Illustrator for the best part of 7 years, and not once have any of my exports (PNG, TIFF, SVG) have been blurry until today.

   This is clearly a GPU rendering bug.

   A workaround for this is to disable GPU rendering at all. To investigate this further, the team would need full details on the OS and GPU used, along with a test file.

11. Using a sublayer as a layer mask is broken

    Please open the file attached and watch the video.
    Here is what happens, try to replicate it:

    1. The document has a Layer 1 and it has a sublayer — Layer 2, which has one rectangle in it
    2. If you select the Layer 1, the Make/Release Clipping mask button enables — click it
    3. Notice that Ai underlines both Layer 2 AND <Rectangle>, as if they are both are clipping masks
    4. If you click it again, everything is OK. But instead, select the Layer 2 and click the button after
    5. See how Ai still shows Layer 2 underlined (bug #1)
    6. Select a circle and see how the underline vanishes, and only <Rectangle> is now considered to be a mask
    7. You can select circles and everything stays as it was, until you move one — then suddenly the canvas gets updated and all shapes get rendered as unclipped (bug #2). Sometimes it happens partially, and it seems to be unrelated to CPU/GPU view mode
    8. Undo everything and clip again
    9. Hide the rectangle and see how all circles get visibly unclipped — that is OK
    10. Now toggle visibility of the Layer 2 instead — something changes, but circles are still clipped
    11. Hide Layer 2 and drag one of the circles — boom, they are unclipped again (bug #3)

    Sublayers are broken and this is why I avoid using them.
    Please fix.

12. Strange symbol ('envelope' sign) appears at the end of pasted text

    Why does the envelope sign appear when I copy text from somewhere else (like HEX color code copied or translation result text form Google Translate) and paste it into Illustrator?

    Happens only on Windows it seems.

13. (Applescript) do javascript command no longer works in Illustrator 2021(25.1)

    When using AppleScript's do javascript in Illustrator 2021(25.1), nothing happens regardless of whether it is a file or text. The result will return a missing value. In 25.0.1, it works fine.

15. Update 25.2.2 closes all the tabs instead of one tab at a time

    Just after downloading the latest update, instead of closing one tab/page at a time, Illustrator started to automatically close every single opened page. It's happening with both Command + W and via the close button at the top of the page.

18. Tab forces viewport to jump when panels are docked

    When you have a complex document and panels docked, it takes a lot of time to hide them with Tab because the position of the viewport is moved. It does not happen when all panels are floating.

    1. Load Essentials Classic workspace
    2. Open any document with art in it (the more complex the better)
    3. Press Tab — viewport moves (and it is slow!)
    4. Press Tab again to show all panels
    5. Undock every panel and toolbars to make them float (including Control panel)
    6. Press Tab — viewports stays in place (and it is almost instant!)

    So the position of viewport should not move when Tab is pressed, in all cases.

19. Stroke Options for Brushes are not sticky

    A brush is applied to an object, then its appearance is modified through the "Options of Selected Object" dialog box found at the bottom of the Brush Panel.
    If later the definition of the original brush is changed — all the modifications done through this dialog box are completely wiped out.
    I would expect these settings to be sticky.

    For example, if I flipped a brush across or scaled it for one path and then changed the colorization method for this brush, I would still expect this particular path to be scaled/flipped in the same way.
