1. CC 2019 version runs slow!

   For some reason in this 2019 version of the program it chugs and is very slow to move around and work with my files, even if the files are not very large. I usually have to shut the program down and restart to correct the problem. Would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and if someone at Adobe could address this, thank you.

2. Holding Shift with Smart Guides enabled when using Scale tool is works unreliably

   macOs Sierra 10.12.6

   Illustrator 23.0.1 - Scale tool doesn't work the same as it's been for years!! Ugh!

   Please revert to the legacy behavior of scaling shapes, images and text proportionately by using the scale tool + holding shift key and drag to enlarge or reduce size of shape proportionately. This way has been burned in my brain for many, many, many years. My fingers move faster than I can think, and now my logos turn out wonky unless I scale it the long way, by opening up the scale tool and typing in percentages!! No thanks.

   For now, how do I get the scale tool to work like it used to? Is the work-around the same for Illustrator 23.0.1, as it is for Photoshop?

3. Opening WMF through Windows Command Line creates distortion

   When opening a WMF in the latest 2020 AI via the Windows command line, e.g.

   "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2020\Support Files\Contents\Windows\Illustrator.exe" 745-2969563.wmf

   It opens the WMF, but it is distorted as in the attached wmf_distorted.png.

   However, if you open a blank document and import it with File->Place, it renders it correctly

   I appreciate any and all help.

4. Radiobox on the Symbol options behaves inverse to the expected using the keyboard arrow keys

   See the attached image, notice that Symbol Type is set to Dynamic Symbol. If you wanted to change it to Static Symbol using the keyboard, you'd expect to press down on the arrow keys, correct?

   That does not work, instead you need to press UP on the keyboard arrow keys, which is the exact opposite of what you'd expect.

   Doesn’t seem to happen anymore, and the Down arrow toggles the option is expected.

5. Gradient Mesh effects on object broken

   Hi!

   I used the Mesh Tool on a very simply modified oval object(it looks like a symmetrical bicycle seat). And when I do so, the Mesh Tool ignores existing anchor points and arbitrarily creates new points along the object's path. Sometimes very near the object's original points, and sometimes directly on top of those points so there will be 2 overlapping points.

   Also, regardless if the object is isolated or not, changing the newly Gradient Meshed anchor point color values produces no effect. And clicking off of these points resets the point's color profile to Grayscale. If I change Grayscale to RGB, the point will change back to Grayscale when I click off and back onto the point.

   On a side note, I want to say that I appreciate Adobe and the Illustrator team for tending to all these issues. I know comments on your work can be harsh and it can make working on all this no fun. However, I've been using Illustrator since 2008, and I have noticed a tangible decline in the software's quality. I think by now I should have a healthy handle on the application, however I often feel lost, having to relearn unnecessary tool renames/reworks or gimmicky new features that feel very out of touch from the process I've developed as an illustrator over the last 11 years. Change is inevitable and can be awesome, however over this time I've come to feel very alienated within a tool that has become crucial to how I make a living. I often challenge myself to view all of this from the perspective that I just need to be patient and learn Illustrator as it is. Then I will be in tune with my tools how I remember being years ago. However, I dive into an illustration and am assaulted all over again by all of these tiny little bugs that stop me in my tracks. I have to invent 10-step solutions to something that should take 1 step. I don't feel like I'm using an intelligent application. I feel like I know more about Illustrator's capabilities than it knows about itself. It does not anticipate my needs. We are working with a very tight set of tool parameters, and there is no reason that 20 or 30 years of versions shouldn't be fit as a fiddle and offer intuitive assistance based on what the operator is attempting to achieve. As much as I love Illustrator, I am consistently infuriated by how tangled it feels.

   Sorry to drop all of this on you, but you need to know. I could go on and on about this, so if you ever need to pick a customer's brain, I'd be happy to help design the best Illustrator ever. But it's difficult to know the whole story sitting on the outside. So I have no idea what the design process has been these last 20ish years of Illustrator design. Best of luck! I know you all can fine tune a final REAL version of Illustrator that so many of us want. It is still great much of the time, but it is still very ripe with momentum killers that cost your patrons precious time and money. Thank you for your consideration.

6. Illustrator 23.1.1 flickering panels on mouse release

   Layers Panel flicker

   After upgrading to Illustrator 23.1.1 on a mac each time a mouse click is released on the artboard or when text will be deleted step by step, the layer panel and some times symbols and type formats panel, too, will flash or flicker.

   Switching off GPU usage does not change it anyway.

   It's driving me crazy...

   This flashing is irritating.

   Attempted fixes

   Resetting preferences
   Adjusting GPU performance
   Turning of animated zoom
   Uninstalling illustrator
   Updating everything

8. Place returns to the wrong folder

   In previous versions of Illustrator, the place command would return to the folder containing the last placed file (say the Worker folder). For example, If I place an object and then save to a different folder (say the Finals folder), the next time I go to place, it takes me to the Finals folder rather than the Worker folder. Not sure when this broke/was changed, but would appreciate getting this function back.

9. Illustrator v 24 asset export bug with sizing incorrectly

   asset export bug, it does not export assets at the size selected but instead makes them super tiny and unusable. I have had to download the last version before that so that I can use asset export correctly with what I have selected.

10. The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANF] when copying objects

    I have a random bug on Illustrator 24.0 (Windows 10). The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT] error message repeats when I trying to copy and paste objects, especially outside Illustrator. Paste command is unabled and I got this message. I try to delete preferences and restert the computer, at first nothing happened, after one more restart it works. I dont really know what the **** is this

11. CD Printing problem (media selection)

    Illustrator 24.0 doesn't set media type properly. On Epson L805 printer selecting CD/DVD media prints on A4 plain paper instead. This bug appears recently. Other apps, like Affinity Designer prints from the same .ai file without any problems on choosed CD/DVD.

    BTW: Great idea how not to offer support: let's ask users to vote if bug should be fixed or not...

    On some files with the 2020 version of Illustrator only I have this error message:
    "The specified network location is not available."
    iMac 27 'of 2015 in macOS 10.13.6

14. Snapping stopped working

    Snap to Grid, Pixel and Point options stop working on a regular basis. Choosing any of them has no effect.
    Have to Close and reopen regualry for it to work again.Ilustrator has become very irratic in the past few releases. Along with other Adobe apps.....

15. crashing

    Crashes when opening preferences. Slow overall (and non-responsive) performance on a brand new Mac. 2020 Illustrator is beta garbage and does not run dependably. InDesign is just as bad.

16. Export for screens > SVG Exports only some of the artboards.

    MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
    Illustrator 24.0

    When I use the export for screens it doesn't export all of my artboards to SVG. I have 21 artboards and only 8 of them are being exported.

    Is there any workaround for this bug?

    UPDATE: It exports all the artboards but it takes a long long time. Is it normal?

17. Only one backstep at a time possible

    ai lets me backstep only once or twice bevore stalling. After ca. 2 minutes another backstep is possible. Sometimes several backsteps are possible but it will stall from time to time. If I wait, it will recover, but it's impossible to work in this way.
    Is there a solution to this?
    I'm on a Mac Pro 12core late 2013 and OS X 10.14.6

18. Ai 2020 Crashes when trying to place a file from a Zip directory

    When trying to place an asset that is inside a Zip directory, Ai 2020 will crash and require a restart. This is on a Windows system with the latest illustrator 2020

19. BUG Nordic keyboard and special characters €, $, @ etc

    Cant type special characters €, $, @ on nordic keyboard. Because Illustrator is overriding AltGr key function using it to make a selection.

20. ActiveX component can't create object: 'Illustrator.Application'

    We recently upgraded to CC 2019. version 23.0.6.

    Vbscripts are now unable to execute. They fail on:

    Set appRef = CreateObject('Illustrator.Application')

    with the error: ActiveX component can't create object: 'Illustrator.Application'

    This functionality is important to our workflow.
