Illustrator CC 2019 v23.0 Divide tool not working
I'm running on a iMac Pro (2017) Mojave OS 10.14 and using Illustrator CC 2019 v23.0. I've tried using the divide tool via the Pathfinder panel as well as the new Properties Panel and neither will work. Typically it would divide the two patterns top and bottom and now it just leaves the patterns as is without dividing. I also have used the guides to divide a pattern and that is not working either.

Changed placed item outside of illustrator does not mark the AI Document as changed...
If I have an illustrator document open that has a linked placed item within it, and the document has just been save, and I modify and save the placed item outside of illustrator - AI prompts me that the item has changed and asks if I was to update the placed artwork. If I select YES, the artwork is updated but the AI document is not internally marked as changed - e.g. I can close the file and it will not prompt me to save.

No artboards!
I am using Mac OS Mojave (OS 10.14) with Illustrator 19. When I try to create a new file or open up an existing one, nothing happens! No new artboard appears for me - the page that loads on start up remains there. I've been using Illustrator since the early 90s and nothing like this has ever happened. This is a recent manifestation since the installation of version 19 - please advise what to do!

Alerts appear underneath panels and can't be read

Stroke with gradient: overprinting attribute not set
When a stroke with a gradient is set to overprinting, the overprinting attribute is not set anymore when reopening the file.
Attached is a screenshot of an example.
We are using CC 2018 and CC 2017, on Mac OS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 on various machines.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

FIX ILLUSTRATOR 2019
Mac ios High Sierra on iMac 21.5, AI 2019, working on simple packaging mechanical files, sometimes when saving I get a message that it cannot process. I either lose all my work, or several files have been translated into black and white and look like architectural drawings. I have trouble creating new swatches. When I duplicated a swatch, when I changed color of copy, color of original changed. Why is there no step and repeat? Please stop releasing versions of this software before it is bug-free. Most versions don't even have noticeable upgrades, others have annoying upgrades. After using software…

Pattern Brush with raster image adds white pixels not in original image
If using a raster image as the base for a pattern brush, Ai will pad the image with opaque white pixels. This makes it really hard - if not impossible - to use it on anything besides solid white background.
Note: This is NOT the anti-aliasing/"thin white line between segments" issue.

Input Boxes Floating in the Workspace
Hi, since the 2019 release I have 2 floating input boxes in the workspace, I don't know where they belong but they werent there before. If I hover over the '1' it brings up a tooltip of 'Artboard Navigation'

Window resizes in increments
After a doc is open and the window has been open to the largest size. clicking the bottom right corner to resize the doc window feels like it is snapping to the bottom or to increments of a set size. HOW do we turn this off to resize the document window to any free flowing size ?

Outline Stroke not working
I select an object, then navigate to Object > Path > Outline Stroke and nothing happens. GRRRR.

Can not open a saved .ase color book
With the update to Illustrator CC 2019, I now can not open the .ase color book that we've been using for 3 years.
Please fix this as it is an incredibly inconvenient bug to encounter

Crash with AI Files and link broken
When i opening a files ai who have broken links with a files on a another not connected hard drive, illustrator CC 2019 crash and i can't opening this files, but with a another pc and another version i delete the missing links and when i've try again to open it on my pc it's working again.
so i think it's when a fils have a broken links that crash the software.

Cursor highlights everything, even objects on locked layers. This is disruptive. Why is this update so slow? Take me back!

Appearance of Black Feature Not Working in Illustrator CC 2019
The "Appearance of Black" feature is not working after installing Illustrator CC 2019. I've tried to disable and re-enable the feature, however all blacks appear as rich black now. The document shown in the attached screenshot is in CMYK color mode. The black box on the left is 100% K only, the box to the right is C: 60%, M: 50%, Y: 50%, and K: 100%.
Previously 100% process black only would display as shown in the preferences window. I've tried to open an old document and create a new CMYK color mode document, however the 100% K looks rich…

Illustrator 2019 Freeform Gradient and compound paths not quite right
When applying a freeform grad to a compound path, the effect struggles to jump a gap between paths, leaving odd results. If you create a path with a "hole" in the middle and create grad its OK. Move the whole fully out of the enclosing shape and its blank, move back into to cross border line and it works correctly with overlap creating hole.

Stroke not updated when using arrow keys
An object's stroke is not updated when using the arrow keys to increase or decrease stroke size. Then selecting another object without pressing enter or removing focus from the input box applies the stroke to the new selection.
Steps:
1. Create 2 shapes
2. Select first shape
3. Adjust stroke with arrow keys in the properties panel - shape on artboard doesn't update
4. Select second shape - stroke that was supposed to be applied to first shape is applied to second shapeUsing Illustrator 23.0 (Windows)

CC 2019 hangs/crashes on quitting on Windows
Everything was fine until i signed out and singed in again the subscription license 2 weeks ago, on my Windows 7 system.
Each time when i try to close Illustrator, it hangs. I tried the following, but does not work:
- sign out and sign again the license

Direct Selection tool selects objects in and outside of clipping masks
There is a bug (from maybe several versions back now) in which the direct selection tool sees and selects objects (and points) inside and outside of the clipping mask. The behavior In previous versions worked correctly (the direct selection tool only selected points on the clipping mask, not any of the inside contents). In the attached screenshot, you can see both the current bug and the previous expected behavior.
To summarize, the Direct Selection Tool should only be able to select a mask's points and not the objects inside the mask.

Selected font in CC2018 doesn't stick
Problem when I opened a type sample page I made with Universal News with Commercial Pi, and almost all characters became the rectangle with X inside. I can select the block, then UNwCP and I can see the text changing as I select the face . . . but when I leave the Character pallet, the field blanks.
Also, if I select one character and type over it, the face becomes Minion. In the sample, see 8, 9, and zero.
Similarly, in InDesign, I can select a single character and then UNwCP, and the pallet changes to New Century Schoolbook…
