Crashing immediately when opened
I have not been able to use Illustrator 2018 for over a week now. I am using High Sierra and I have checked all the updates. I can't open from a file or directly from the toolbar. I have sent a few crash reports but to no avail.

text libraries
Hi, I am having trouble adding text to CC Libraries. It seems like you have to have Point Type instead of Area Type in order to add it correctly. It would be useful to be able to add both types of type.

Restart every 1 min to fix a bug – Illustrator Font Panel Bug
Adobe Illustrator always show the default font Myriad Pro no matter which typeface/font you are using. Also Fonts and weights that you are using disappear from the dropdown of the font.
The only way of fixing it is to restart illustrator every 1 min.

Ai artboards all look like someone took an eraser over them.
Ai CC2018. Opening any file sent by my teacher for class, I am the only student in class whose artboard looks like someone took an eraser over it. We've checked for hidden layers, etc. to no avail. I cannot even find the uninstall option to uninstall and reinstall it. Can someone help? I'm running Mac 10.13.2.

Illustrator CC 2018 for Mac Hangs up When Reading an EPS File
Illustrator CC 2018 for Mac hangs up when I attempt to read the attached EPS file. I have been using Illustrator to read this type of EPS file for years with no difficulties. I have to force-quit Illustrator to continue. I attach a sample file that hangs up Illustrator on my system. Just in case you need to know, my system has all updates installed.

Changing colour by pasting code doesn't register as a change / can't save.
I've got a pallette file (yes I should make a swatch), but that's not the issue.
If I copy the code from one colour, then select an object in a different file and paste the code into the box… The program doesn't register a change has happened.
So when I "cmd+s" it doesn't register and my assets don't update in AE.1 vote -
Zoom issue
When zooming in from 3200% to 6400% or more, this line starts acting weird. The stroke should not be outside of the path line, but it seems like it's having a rendering issue or something. Seems like it might be a problem only when previewing on CPU. I switched to GPU preview and it's fine, but if I switch back it looks like the attachment

AI from PDF keeps old thumbnail/preview
I often get someone's source documentation in PDF.
Yes, we should get source. No, it seems we can't get the soruce.
So - I open the PDF in Illustrator and save the useful chunks - graphics mostly - as separate files in .ai format, pdf-compatable.
For whatever reason, those docs usually will not preview correctly in Win Explorer or when browsing from ID to place as a graphic.
It seems there's some preview/thumbnail info from the original PDF that lingers in the AI file - even though it was a multi-page file, and I'm only using a piece of it…

Can't move an object less than 1 pt
When I drag an object to move it, it will move in increments of 1pt (e.g. I cannot move it 0.5pt).

Selection tool, bounding box
Square did not fill with the fill color I selected. The objects are all pixelated and not clear. Bounding boxes keep disappearing. Objects moving back to previous positions.
3 votesIllustrator can display artwork in Preview mode and Outline mode — with only lines edges drawn. You can switch between this modes with Cmd/Ctrl+Y hotkey or via View > GPU/CPU Preview / Outline command.

Bounding Box Issues - Incorrectly including shadow on some objects
There are several selection bugs related to the behavior of bounding boxes (as shown in the attached jpeg). If a shadow is applied to an object such as a rectangle shape, then the bounding box correctly stays around that rectangle. But edit a point on the rectangle and suddenly the bounding box also includes the shadow. This is not desirable as then rotating the object changes its center point depending on the location of the shadow. Same thing with a line shape vs. a line created with the pen tool (the pen tool line's bounding box contains the shadow). I'm…

Scale box not appearing
every time I try to scale an object/shape/path, all I am shown are the anchor points for every object. Even in selection mode, it just shows the anchor points.

Unwanted lines appearing when zooming
When zooming in on a vector line feature, unwanted lines keep showing up as I zoom in. Once I zoom out to a certain extent they disappear.

File Error When Opening
I have been having these messages pop up for the past 2 months.
When I try to open a file the message pops up, when you hit OK it opens the file but with missing elements. I then exit out of the file and re open it. Sometimes this solves the problem and other times I have to re open that file 3 other times.

Gradient stops being rotated when applied to a compound path
When I make a compound path and give it a gradient and rotate it manually by 180 degrees everything is OK.
When I rotate this object back by 180 degrees also everything is OK (gradient returns back to original 0 degrees). This how it should work.
But when I save the file and open it again, this rotated object gets "damaged" — when I try to rotate it by 180 degrees, this gradient doesn't rotate, but it should. Problem syncing with CC Files on startup (sometimes!!)
Well the title says it all, really!
It looks like I have NO files in the cloud. But not all the time. Restarting Illustrator sometimes solves the problem.
I reïnstalled the program, have the latest updates, etc...
Maybe I overlook something?

Local file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.
LOCAL file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.
Even though I only work on my local drive, opening or saving a simple document takes up to 2 minutes when I'm connected to a slow VPN connection server. Note: I don't open/save through the VPN, I only opens and saves from my local drive.
The second I close the slow VPN connection, Illustrator works like normal and saves the same file in <3 seconds.
So -- What is Illustrator doing accessing that VPN connection when everything it needs is on the local disk?

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Adding Preset Brushes to Brushes CAN cause drop down menu to break
I wanted to have all the brushes that come packed with Illustrator available to me at all times. I loaded the ones I wanted, selected and added the brushes. Once I did this the drop down menu crashes and will not come back, the top is lost and does not scroll up. This has effected all my documents until I closed down Illustrator. When I did this again it was fine.... any ideas?

Once you load all the brushes that you need in brushes panel, Save it as library from the flyout and you can open this library everytime you want to use it.
You can mark the library persistent, so that it opens on restarting the application.
