Auto-snapping is unreliable
Snapping function is often unreliable, snapping to unintuitive objects (fx. an object on an offscreen artboard rather than one next to the object being moved)
Further - snapping allignment is unreliable, often claiming to snap to allign with an edge, but when placed being off by a tiny bit, scewing layouts.

Scroll on hover over unselected tools or library panels not working in 2020 release.
Prior to the 2020 release of Illustrator, when I was working in a document (with my various tools panels and CC Library panel docked to the side of the page) I could have my artboard/artwork selected and hover my mouse over a tools pane or library and scroll to see my options (without clicking to select that pane.) Now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I have to click on whichever tools pane or the library pane to activate it before I can begin scrolling through the options. It may not seem like much of a bug, but it actually…

Image resolution differs depending on image orientation
When placing an image in Illustrator, the image format is HEIC, and in portrait mode or landscape: The landscape picture shows the amount of ppi as 1 logical number. The portrait mode picture shows 2 numbers for ppi, and they are totally different.

Pen tool glitch
When using the pen tool, the artboard glitches and a big gray area appears from the upper right corner (screenshot 1), glitches even more and turns yellow when scrolling or moving the cursor (screenshot 2).
Pen tool absolutely impossible to use. This started happening after last update (version 22.0.1 - 64 bit) on Windows 8.1

Custom guides make Illustrator unusable when viewed as dots
I've made guides out of a large number of lines (forming an iso grid). This works fine as long as I am viewing the guides as lines, but when changing the view to Dots in settings, Illustrator get so slow that I can't even move around in the document. I am using Windows 10 version 26.1. I also have v25.4.1 installed and it is the same thing there.
Maybe it would be less performance demanding if we could set transparancy on guides instead of using dots?

Ctrl+F

Stroke appears to have Brush applied with no actual Brush
When I am in ANY artboard, I draw a .0139" x .0139" OR 1px x 1px square to center my artboard. I zoom in to as far as I can to then pull my ruler from top left to center the artwork on the page.
2 things,
1 the square (1px x 1px) appears to have a brush stroke on it as it does NOTAND
I cannot pull the centering tool (in ruler, Ctl-R ) onto my artboard to then center the coordinates.
2 votesGPU mode Ai uses by default is fast, but can be imprecise at high zoom levels. To see the art the way it’s drawn, with no precision rounding artifacts, toggle it to CPU mode instead.

Canvas is flickering after waking the computer up
Flickering around the artboard when the type tool is selected. The system had been in sleep mode for about an hour. When I returned, dragging my mouse over the window, the area surrounding the artboard flickered. Every mouse movement made the background flicker. It did not happen if the window was not the foremost window active.

Artwork disappearing / Framework in Outline Mode Glitching
Illustrator artboard disappearing and turning to outline mode if I zoom in/out OR try and move an object. Everything seems to be repeating itself in these weird wire frames. I have to save, exit out, then reenter that file. This is happening often and multiple times a day.

Illustrator not opening Fusion 360 DXFs after 25.0.1
The primary reason I use Illustrator (on my Intel Mac running Big Sur) is to further process the DXFs generated by Fusion 360 and prepare them for laser cutting. Recently, illustrator started opening these files as blank, even though online viewers display them just fine. According to internet research, this should have been fixed in version 25.0.1. However, after updating and reinstalling illustrator the issue persists. This is incredibly frustrating as my laser has been unused for a number of weeks as I can’t prepare files. Please fix!

Clear Recent Files Not Sticky
Version: 21.1.0
Steps:
Illustrator>Preferences>File Handling & Clipboard>Change Number of Recent Files to Display from 20 to 0
Close Illustrator
Re-Open Illustrator (Recent Files Gone...What I want)Illustrator>Preferences>File Handling & Clipboard>Change Number of Recent Files to Display from 0 back to 20.
Close Illustrator
Re-Open Illustrator (Recent files all return)Expected Result: When I change back from 0 to 20, I expect all of my recent files to be gone.
Actual Result: Recent Files return when I change the settings back from 0 to 20.
1 voteThe setting you are referring to only controls visibility – does not clear the list. Sure way of clearing the recent history is to clear Illustrator preferences.

Incorrect Zoom Label when Disabling "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" Preference
With an artboard zoomed to 100%, and after disabling the preference "Display Print Size At 100% Zoom" preference, the zoom level is incorrectly reading "52.55%" until I switch Pixel Preview on and off again. See the attached screen recording for the exact steps to recreate this issue with a 1080px x 1080px artboard.

Placing Linked PDF file with "Show Import Options > Crop to:", placement doesn't obey the option selected
On the latest update to Illustrator (early July 2023), when placing a PDF with "Show Import Options", no matter which option is picked (Art, Crop, Trim, Bleed, Media), it always places to the crop/artboard, even though there is bleed set and larger media/artwork beyond the artboard in the PDF.

Expanding in RTL removes numbers
After Illustrator 23.01,
When expanding Right-To-Left text boxes,
all the numbers are removed.See attached video.
(the numbers also don't get selected with "select all")I'm on Windows 10, but something similar seems to happen on Mac:

Auto-sized Area text not resizing correctly
Looks like someone didn't understand (or maybe I didn't explain well enough) what the issue was with this bug that was declined. So I have recorded a video to demonstrate the issue.
Previous entry here:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/32016784--bug-area-text-with-auto-size-and-stroke-appliedAs before - Windows 7, Illustrator cc18
Please follow steps in the video to recreate the bug which is causing area text boxes to extend beyond the artboard.

Random slow-downs opening or saving files
In AI 23.0.4 when opening a sequence of files there are random slow-downs and spinning beachballs for no obvious reasons, at random. Have un-installed and getting same issue with 23.0.3 and 23.0.2. Nothing about my system has changed since this has started and it's driving me mad.

Cursor stays invisible after exiting Presentation mode
How to reproduce:
Create a multiple artboard document.
Enter presentation mode.
Do not move the mouse.
Use the left and right arrow keys to view all the art boards.
Note that windows will make the mouse cursor invisible since you are not using it.
Press ESC to return to normal viewing/editing mode.
Now the mouse cursor is invisible.Work around: If you go back to presentation mode and wiggle the mouse and press ESC while the mouse is visible then the mouse will be visible in normal screen mode.
