    Since I have updated to the newest version I can't seem to upload pngs into Illustrator. They show as if they are negative. I run on a MacBook Pro Mac OS Mojave Version 10.14.1. Illustrator 23.0.1

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.3.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  2. Can't Print Illustration

    Illustrator refuses to print even small 8.5 x 11 files to our desktop printer. This is an essential part of this program and severely impacts my ability to design and create production files when I cannot print out a simple proof without exporting it to a PDF before Printing.

  3. Recolor artwork window stops working shortly after opening (Illustrator CC2018)

    Im using Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 on macOS High Sierra (10.13.2).
    I'm trying to recolor my artwork but the window accessed via Edit colors > recolor Artwork freezes shortly after using it.

    Everything remains responsive except that when I click any part of the window there is no response from Illustrator. I can still move the window around but cannot exit it. The OS doesn't recognize it as a crash (no "not responding" message).

    I've been working on the same document in Illustrator CC 2017, recoloring worked fine in then.

    Any idea how to fix this?

  4. Image Trace has a problem keeping the artwork in the same location from the original.

    Illustrator version 22.0.1

    Image trace seems to have a problem keeping artwork in the same location from the original. Screen Shot 1 shows some text that I have rasterized to be image traced. I work at a die making facility so rasterized images need to be made into vectors for our CNC machines to "read them."

    As it stands, if I image trace this text it is going to be transposed to the right and below the original. The image traced result in Screen Shot 2 is the magenta color. My original rasterized image is in black. When this specific…

  6. Text lost when updating text of old version

    Illustrator CC 2018.(No problem before 2017)
    Updated text disappears when opening a file of old data such as version 10 or lower by a specific operation and updating the text portion.

    ・Prepare and open files of version 10 or lower
    ・To confirm whether to update the legacy text on the warning screen, click [OK] to not update
    ・Save immediately
    ・Open the saved file
    ・Click on the legacy text part with the mouse
    ・On the warning screen, click [Update]
    → The text that should have been updated disappears

  7. Select > Same > (Fill, Stroke, etc.) no longer working in charts

    Adobe CC2018
    When using the direct selection tool to select a single element of a chart or graph, Illustrator no longer responds to the Select > Same > ... commands. This is a feature we rely upon for everyday capabilities when styling charts. When I try the command, it does not select anything within the chart. If I ungroup the chart, or use the Select > Same > (options) with other Illustrator shapes, it works as normal. The problem surfaced immediately after I upgraded from CC2017 to CC2018.

  8. Non Functional Gradient Stroke along/across options when stroke is outside/inside

    make a box, add a gradient stroke, apply gradient across stroke, align stroke to outside - you can't button does nothing.

    make a box, add a gradient stroke, align stroke to outside THEN click apply gradient across stroke...button is active but does nothing

    I have been reporting this bug and hoping for a fix for 4 years now. Going to give me back some of that money I have been giving you LOL?

  9. 特定のテキスト状態のファイルを開くと旧バージョンで保存されたファイルと誤検知される

    Windows11(macOSでも発生すると思われる)
    Illustrator ver.29.0

    再現手順
    1.新規ドキュメントを作成し文字ツールでポイントテキストを入力する。
    2.1行目を36pt、2行目を10ptで指定する。
    3.Illustrator2020形式でファイルを保存して閉じる。
    4.保存したファイルを開くと「このファイルには旧バージョンのIllustratorで作成されたテキストが含まれます……」のダイアログが表示される。変更を確認しても文字のずれなどは見受けられない。

    期待する結果
    ver.29で保存したドキュメントを開く時にダイアログが表示されない。

    実際の結果
    特定のテキスト構成にて旧バージョンで作成されたドキュメントと正確でないダイアログが表示される。
    おそらく誤検知だと思われます。

  10. Keyword search in Illustrator panel is not giving results for all libraries

    Working on macOS Sonoma 14.4.1
    In Illustrator 28.4.1 (seen the bug in different Illustrator versions e.g., 27.9.2)

    Experienced behaviour:
    When I search in ‘all libraries’ in Illustrator I don’t get results from all libraries (picture 1), instead (I believe) I’m getting the results from recently used libraries (those which are synchronised with my computer).

    So to be able to search all libraries I need to click one by one, load them and then I’m able to search. (picture 2)

    Wanted behaviour:
    Search in all libraries to get results from all libraries in the Illustrator window. (picture 3)

  11. オプティカルカーニングのテキストにタブを設定しても揃わない - Optical kerning text does not align when tabs are set

    「文字間のカーニング:オプティカル」のテキストに「タブ」パネルで「タブ位置」と「リーダー」を設定しても、タブの位置で文字が揃わない。

    MacOS Monterey(12.7.4) + Illustrator 2024(28.4.1)

    再現手順:
    1. テキストオブジェクトに文字パネルで「文字間のカーニング:オプティカル」を設定する
    2. 「タブ」パネルで「タブ揃え」、「タブ位置」、「リーダー」を設定する

    期待された結果:
    指定したタブ揃え・タブ位置でテキストが揃う

    実際の結果:
    指定したタブ揃え・タブ位置でテキストが揃わない

    回避方法:
    ・テキスト中のタブのみに「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを設定する
    ・タブを設定したテキストでは「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを利用する

    「オプティカル」以外のカーニングを利用すれば回避できますが、フォントや文字の内容によっては「オプティカル」を使いたいこともあります。その都度タブのみに「メトリクス」等を設定するのは手間がかかります。また、「リーダー」に記号等を設定しなければテキストは揃いますが、それではタブの機能を利用する意味がありません。
    InDesignにも同様の機能がありますが、カーニングの設定が何であれテキストの位置はタブ位置で揃います。
    ユーザーの工夫で回避するのではなく、Illustrator側が改善すべき挙動だと考えます。

    ---Use translation tools---

    When "Tab" and "Leader" are set on optical kerning texts, texts are not aligned at the tab position.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. set optical kerning to the text.
    2. set tab alignment, tab position, and leader in the "Tabs" panel.

    Expected result
    Text is aligned at the specified position.

    Actual result:.
    Text is not aligned at the specified position.

    Workaround
    - Set kerning other than "optical" only for tabs in text.

  12. Artboard orientation changes from vertical to horizontal (portrait to landscape) by itself

    After update to 28.3, some artboards are switching orientation by themselves. It's not specific to content or number of artboards, apparently. Sometimes I just open a document with some artboards and hover my cursor over them (not even clicking anything) and the artboard just flips orientation from vertical to horizontal. Most of my work consists on social media posts (1080x1920px or 1080x1350px) witch now Illustrator insists in automatically switching to Landscape for no apparent reason.
    By the way, the content is not flipped, just the artboard. And not all of them, usually just one out of the 10 or 20…

    This UI option is mislabeled. It controls the vertical alignment of the text in a frame, not the horizontal alignment.

  14. SVG text exportation creates a fragmented code

    All texts I wrote in a drawing, when exported to SVG files, were not anymore consistent: fragments of texts were overlapping each others.
    I opened SVG file using a text reader and I discovered that my texts were unnecessarily fragmented in many parts that finally were badly rebuild in the code.

  15. Illustrator 2022 Ver 26.0.1: Freezes/Crashes on Exit

    Illustrator 2022 works fine, launches as usual. Yet when exiting the software, no matter if used or not, it freezes. The only way to properly exit the app is via Task Manager: End Process.

    Software has already been stress tested, cleaned up and reinstalled. Issue doesn't persist in previous version.

  16. When using optical type feature, since the update it displays the type as if it has no spaces?

    Running version 25.3 on illustrator.

    16.21 indesign.

    Since updating me and a few people i know who also use the software across indesign and illustrator have seen when using the optical type feature, it displays the type as if it has no spaces? Type treatment is thrown off to what is traditionally correct. Please fix this! This will have a massive knock on affect with branding agencies if rules are changing regarding such simple things.

  17. Can't input search or rename Japanese in the Creative Cloud Library panel

    • Illustrator 25.1

    Can't input Japanese in the Creative Cloud Library panel.

    • Input Japanese in the search box
    • Rename the registered library in Japanese

    Checking with 3 PC.

  18. Line tool is immune to the Constrain Angle

    When you set up Constraint Angle to 30 or whatever is different form 0 or 90, pick up Line tool and hold Shift, it still snaps to 0, 45, 90, 135... instead of 30, 75, 120, 165...

  19. delete anchor point tool selecting bottom object

    When two anchors of different objects are layered on top of one another, the delete anchor point tool will always select the bottom object, whether I have the top object selected or not. The add anchor point tool and direct selection will select the top object, but I want to be able to delete the anchor from the top object without having to go into isolation mode. This wasn't the case in the previous version.

  20. Load texture not working in 2020

    Mac OS 10.15.1, Illustrator 2020. For years I've used a custom texture (psd file) that I load into texturizer. But since updating to 2020 Illustrator this custom file doesn't work. I upload the texture file, it looks good in the texturizer panel, but when I click OK nothing happens. When I reopen the selection in the texturizer panel it has "canvas" texture. I'm using the same psd file I've always used. Even when I rename it and save it in Photoshop 2020 I have the same problem.
