1. Text in connected Area Type Text boxes becomes very unstable when scaling

   4. Copied it 13 times, connected it

   5. put this structure under mask (tried also to put every object under it's own mask- same result).

   6. added shape objects

   7. Scaled everything - everything fine.

   8. selected all the text in the structure and write new one with the same font/

   10. Usually if you select this structure of connected area type boxes in company with some shape or object and scale all this, size of text in this boxes changes accordingly.

   11. Result differs every time. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes all the letters have different size, sometimes they all have size 0,1 pt.
       If you scale bit by bit sometimes it helps to change it to the size you need without issues, and if change in 1 step - everything goes wild.
       If you select everything and change directly the height, letters size becomes 0,1 pt. (every time after you connected first two text boxes)

2. CMY touch bar not working properly

   1. My OS: MacOS 10.15.5 (Catalina) / Illustrator CC 2020 (24.2)

   2. a) Create a new document (CMYk mode)
      b) create a rectangle
      c) Use touch bar CMYk color space to change fill color
      d) Nothing happens.

   3. Expectation:
      a) Create a new document (CMYk mode)
      b) create a rectangle
      c) Use touch bar CMYk color space to change fill color
      d) Change color according to colours sliders change.

   4. No change on fill or stroke color.

3. Script Running Actions Skips Alignment

   Version 24.2.1

   When using a script to initiate an action, the action is skipping the alignment to artboard steps.

4. Cannot save .AI files - Presets are empty

5. Pathfinder Merge option creates a Trim and NOT a Merge

   I am trying to merge two shapes using the Pathfinder > Merge option. Instead of creating a single merged path, the result is the same as a Trim. See attached before and after images

   Both paths have the same fill, outline, and transparency properties. Neither path is part of a Group or Compound shape.

   I have also shut down and restarted Illustrator and also my computer and still get the same outcome.

   I can work around this with manual work, but this tool should be working.

   :: Illustrator 24.0 / 64-bit

6. Cant Resize without restarting

   When you use the selection tool on any object with the boundary box showing, sometimes you have to restart illustrator to get it so select the corner to resize.

8. A layer name with Emoji breaks Layers panel

   When an artwork contains a layer whose name has emoji such as 👍, the Layers panel gets broken. Interfaces (Eye or Lock icons, thumbnail or name) of several layers or groups will disappear and lost controlled. Fortunately, I knew which layer name has emoji so that it has been recovered by deleting the emoji.

   version: Illustrator 24.0.2 with Windows 10 x64

9. Selecting a second image with a marquee doesn’t include it in the bounding box

   The problem here is with image objects. It matters how you select them. If you select them the wrong way, you get no selection handles, or scaling handles.

   Using just the regular selection tool, if you Shift + drag over one image object to select it, then shift drag over another image object, you get no selection handles for scaling. If you shift drag over both image objects you also get no selection handles.

   If you shift and click on one image object, then shift click the other, it works fine.
   If you drag a single selection over both image objects it works fine.

   If you are selecting a vector object and an image object, it only works properly if you first select the image object. As long as the image object is selected first, it doesn't matter how you do the selection, clicking or dragging. It always works. But, if you select the vector object first, it will only work if you click on the vector object first, then shift click on the image object. Or, drag a single selection over vector, then image object next.

   If you

10. Cannot Type in Search bar in the File Open dialog

    After saving a file in Illustrator, I go to File > Open > folder my files are in. Next, I use the upper right search bar to find the file I need. It will not allow me to type in that search bar. I have to close out of Illustrator, then reopen and start all over again to be able to type in the search bar.

11. Illustrator crashes when using certain tools, when macbook goes to sleep, when left on too long, when selecting items (CMD+A)

    Going mad trying to fix this bizzare problem on my new 2019 Macbook pro.

    • Latest version of illustrator (24.1.2)

    -Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4, 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, MD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
    Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

    Since maybe last month, illustrator has been crashing more and more frequently, and at the strangest of times. I have everything almost exactly the same on my 2018 Macbook Pro and Illustrator is totally fine on that one. I can't quite figure out what is going wrong with this laptop.

    For instance:

    -When I hit CMD+A it might crash (this is most recent, crash report linked).

    -Twice last week it crashed when I used type on path tool and altered the orientation (it actually started to spaz out when I started moving the orientation to under the line; This I could repeat with the same outcome)

    -Anytime the computer goes to sleep it will crash.

    -If I'm working with a content-heavy file, it might just crash for no reason.

    So I suspected maybe it was the CPU / GPU switching in my system preferences / energy saver, but turning it off has done nothing. I've completely re-installed illustrator, Creative Cloud, even refreshed my OS and still this problem reoccurs with Illustrator. I am starting to suspect something is not right with the new MBP 16" and Illustrator..

12. Saving, Opening, & creating files Not Responsive with Unstable Internet Connection

    Illustrator saving, creating files, and opening files seems to be tied to an internet connection, and it really fails if the connection isn't strong/stable. And this was only an issue with Illustrator (found with 24.2.3 & 24.2.0) with Photoshop and Indesign continued to function normally.

    For two weeks I began experiencing very slow saving, it being "not responsive" for about 10 minutes to save any file. I eventually found it was tied to my internet connection. I recently switched my home network to data from a mobile hotspot which works find but isn't always stable. So the saving issue wasn't happening all the time, but most of the time.

    I eventually found that if I disabled my internet connection these operations, Saving, Opening, & creating files, began working normally again.

13. Survey Request

    The annoying prompt to take the survey cannot be turned off. Even on completing it I am still prompted to take it - when you do its recognized you've already taken this. This survey prompt should be disabled at least when it's been taken once.

14. Move tool lags and I can't move my layers.

    I don't have any ideas necessarily. Just want the features provided to work normally. I can't even use my move tool without the program lagging. Also, it's nearly impossible to organize my layers because Illustrator doesn't allow me to move them. It makes tasks that should take 1 second to do take 5 mins. Which makes it impossible to get anything done.

15. Info Panel doesn't scale down horizontally on Mac OS. Windows version scales fine. (MacOS 10.15.5)

    Tried several 5k iMacs to double check this wasn't a fluke, can't scale the Info Panel down on either one, use to be able to scale it down quite a bit (scaling works fine on the Windows version) only seems to affect the Mac version (since v24.0) doesn't scale as far. See attached image for reference.

16. White pixel line around shapes

    Ever since Appearance was introduced, my artwork on screen suffers from a white pixel line around shapes. Seems a rendering problem: the line is not actually existing - zooming in does not make it thicker, it's always one pixel. Tried switching GPU off and on. No difference.
    The appearance of the black shape: Fill is black, Stroke is None.

17. Fix Illustrator quitting 'unexpectedly' 10 times a day.

    Illustrator is only getting more buggy. Will start looking for other programs soon. Fix what you have, quit adding more problems. I want to be a graphic designer, not a software technician. Unexpectedly quits. Unexpectedly quits. Unexpectedly quits. Then I have to do your work to troubleshoot. What am I paying for? A buggy program that quits all the time and then I have to spend valuable time solving your problem. Seems to me with it quitting all the time, I shouldn't have to pay such a high premium for unreliable performance.

18. Illustrator Recent Files list on the welcome page is not updated until the application restart

    The Recent Files list on the Welcome page is not updated until Illustrator restart. E.g. you can create some new files and save them but they do not appear in the Recent Files welcome page. But they do appear if you restart the application.

19. Linked images/files got embedded after file [recovered]

    When Illustrator got crashed I reopen the file and the file got recovered with a message saying (could not find a plug-in to read the linked file "links". .....)

    and when I press (ignore) button I saw all my linked got missing and embedded also

20. Update (v24,2) crashes Illustrator consistently, enough memory (RAM) and slow down when using eraser tool

    I'm working on Windows 10 last build 2004
    i7 6600
    Mem 24 GB
    Graphics GTX 1080Ti 11gb

    After the last update, Illustrator has consistently crashed. When I select Eraser tool the app perform a huge slow down. After some time working the illustrator starts to slow down and I need to relaunch. Some minor crashs occuir too.
