Magnifying and Hand tool for macOS Catalina 10.15.6 stopped work since upgrading to Illustrator v24.2.3
Reseting the Preferences does not resolve the issue. Turning off animated zoom does not help either.

When closing all tabs (Cmd + Option + W), Illustrator instantly crashes.
Sometimes I have multiple tabs open, and I want to close all of them at once instead of each individually. Cmd + Option + W is a common Mac shortcut to close all tabs. In previous versions of Illustrator, this worked as expected. As of 24.2.1 on 10.15.6 version of Catalina, it crashes every time.

save change
I opened an existing Illustrator .ai file. Changed the colour of an object's stroke. Saved. Closed. Then I noticed the change was not there.
Repeated several times. Kept trying to make the change and command-s.
I could see the colour change when I changed the value, but saving did nothing. I noticed that after making the change, the red circle at the top left of the window did not get a black dot to indicate an unsaved change.
I finally did a Save As to make it remember the change. Using Illustrator 24.2 on Mac OS 10.13.62 votes -
Converting Text to path extremely slow
Converting Text to Path ist extremely slow. I have a Job, where 1000 textboxes (each a 5 digit number) has to be converted to paths. On my iMac (3,7 GHz 6-Core i5) this task takes 16 minutes. I tried the same with 16 years old Freehand MX on a 11 years old MacPro 2 x 2,8 GHz Quad Core and it took 13 SECONDS! As there was never an Intel-Version of Freehand it runs under Rosetta what lets the Result in Illustrator look even poorer... And as I have to repeat this task 100 times I would end up in…

Font is bugging when saving as PDF file
Some elements of font text are saving with an undefined glyph box (Box with an X) however no glyph is present. only letters "fi"

Find and replace superscript
I've tried copying the superscripted text to the clipboard and pasting in the Replace box of the Find and Replace dialog, but it loses the superscripting, and pastes into the document without it. I find I have to go into each occurrence individually and superscript each one.

Enable Missing Clyph Protection

Normally, if a font is not found, the text background is highlighted.
Text is not highlighted when I apply appearance.setting -> type -> Enable Missing Clyph Protection

Select same fill color does not take into account tints
When I select "same fill color" or "same appearance" it selects all items using that particular pantone regardless of whether I am using that pantone at 100% or a tint (ex 40%, 50%, 60%).

Scaling freeform gradient objects with real-time drawing/editing on.
When I have real-time drawing turned on, I can't select multiple objects that contain freeform gradients and scale them without losing the appearance of the objects. A single object works, more than one at a time will not. If I turn off real-time in preferences, this resolves the issue.

why can't highlight multiple layers from different group anymore 24.4 update !?
I suddenly can't highlight multiple layers from different group, by holding down the (shift) key. And deselecting with (Alt) isn't working either!

Missing options panel for Object > Path > Simplify
I am missing an Options Panel for Object > Path > Simplify. Illustrator chooses a random simplification and automatically applies. MacBook Pro, OS Catalina, Illustrator 24.0.3

Inconsistencies in adding gradient swatches in Adobe software and Adobe's instructions for Illustrator gradient swatches are incorrect
Only one of the methods listed on the Adobe Illustrator help page regarding adding gradient swatches actually works..
There is no 'Add to Swatches' button in the Gradient menu (in fact, there is no Gradient menu, only a Gradient panel).
Dragging the Gradient fill box from the Gradient Panel to the Swatches panel does absolutely nothing.
Furthermore, the instructions 'Click the swatches menu in the Swatches panel and choose New Swatch' fails to explain the fact that you need to have your gradient selected and active in the active Fill or Stroke boxes.

New document (File > New) window does not display options and has overlapping text
The "Create New Document" window doesn't display any options, just a blank panel. Also, the text is overlapping itself and unreadable. I cannot create a new document to any specified size.

File Save Window Font Styling Unreadable
(System: MacBook Pro 16" OS X 10.15 Illustrator 24.2.3)
When attempting to save a file, the save to window's text styling is nearly unreadable, the padding/margins are way too large, making the paragraphs very thin. Select buttons are pushed below fold, and window needs to be expanded to full screen in order to select where to save file.

Pasting goes to the back of the layer - and not on top!!!!!
When copying an object and then pasting the new object goes to the back of the stack of objects and not to the front! Please fix and make it go to the top.

Actions don't work with function keys in Illustrator 2020
In CS6 the function keys worked fine to invoke actions. In Illustrator CC 2020 the function keys operate as Mac function keys but can't be used to invoke an action. For example, I have Shift + F3 programmed in AI to save a file as .PNG to the current disk. I know the action does what it should because when I double-click it in the Actions menu it works fine. When I press shift+F3, I get the multi-file window, which is the native Mac keyboard function for F3. It's as if the programmers forgot to override the Mac function keys…

Dotted Guidelines on Retina Displays too small, and option to move Guidleines to back needed!
I have a 27" Late 2015 iMac with a Retina display. I used to work with guidelines that were dots, but I've found that they are too small to see on a Retina display, so practically unusable, making me resort to using lines. However, if I move the same artwork window onto my second monitor (non-Retina), the dotted guidelines return to a reasonable size. If there was an option to increase the size of guideline dots as part of the UI preferences, that would be a great addition. Also: the ability to move guidelines to the back of the artwork…
