  1. Plugin menu items in Select menu appear above saved selections without a divider

    Plugins can add their own menu commands in different menus.
    Specifically in Select menu, they get treated weirdly.

    Normally, without any plugins installed, the bottom of Select menu looks fine, like this:
    Save Selection...
    Edit Selection...
    Update Selection ← this is a new command added recently
    <end of menu>

    When at least one saved selection is added, Ai adds a horizontal separator and list saved selection under it:
    Save Selection...
    Edit Selection...
    Update Selection
    ————————————————
    My Amazing Selection

    Again, descent.

  2. Registration point and boundaries of a certain symbol jump when a document is opened

    1. Open the attached document (and review the steps from the GIF)
    2. Notice the second symbol's boundaries are giant (although the registration point is displayed within the artboard), and the Symbols panel seemingly shows nothing in its thumb
    3. Double click the second symbol to edit it
    4. The symbol opens and jumps into the middle of its giant boundaries, and the registration point moves as well
    5. Exit the mode
    6. The symbol is now displayed in its intended place, has normal boundaries, has the registration point in the same place, has a normal thumb...

  3. Hidden clipping mask still contributes to exported image

    I had a design with two clippings mask applied to it, for layout and previewing purposes.
    When time to export a final image comes, I hide the top-level smaller one, and leave the larger one at the bottom to clip my design.

    But when I review the exported image, I realize Illustrator removed the some elements of the design, despite me seeing them on canvas. It took a live brush and deleted some parts of it even!

  5. Tool window won't update content when clicking on a different tab

    This bugs seems to come on after a while of everything working normally.

    I have multiple windows (e.g. 3 - Character/Paragraph/Open type) grouped together on one panel. When I click on an unfocussed tab to bring that to the front, nothing changes. The content below remains the same.

    For example if 'Character' was in focus, and I wanted to access 'Paragraph' options. If I click on the 'Paragraph' tab, I still see the 'Character' options.

  6. Freezing when copying object

    Whenever I copy or cut an object (shapes, mostly) Illustrator freezes. Sometimes for 30+ seconds.

    Windows 10. 32GB memory. It only started doing this a few months back, and it's getting worse.

  7. The ignoreWhite property of tracingOptions does not work

    Illustrator v 28.0 - Image Trace option check box for Ignore White has been replaced with Ignore Color and an eyedropper option. While I think this is a good addition for manual use, it appears to have somewhat broken the ability to use image trace properly in javascript as the change has made the original "tracingOptions.ignoreWhite = true" no longer work. I suspect there is now an additional option/variable responsible for the color to be ignored's selection but it doesnt appear to be refferenced in any of the current documentation.     Je rencontre des problèmes avec illustrator. Mon ordinateur est équipé de Windows 10 et d'une carte graphique NVIDIA RTX A4500 à jour. Depuis la version 28.0 de l'application, celle-ci met beaucoup de temps à se lancer et lorsque cela se produit, je n'arrive pas à accéder à l'écran d'accueil où je peux choisir le type de plan de travail que je souhaite utiliser.     Das Pfadwerkzeug funktioniert bei mir nicht,es kann nicht angeklickt werden da es grau ist, es funktioniert nur das Pfadwerkzeug Vertikal jedoch benötige ich das "normale" Pfadwerkzeug. Arbeite am Laptop.

  11. Illustrator gets minimized when toolbars get touched at Mac Sonoma 14.1, with application frame disabled

    By updating to MacOS 14.1, In Illustrator 2024 28.00, as soon as you touch the toolbars, they disappear. Keeping the "Application Pane" active does not give the error. Can it be solved. A thousand thanks!

  12. Erratic Page numbering in 'Show Print Tiling'

    When printing a large artwork covering several A4s, the page numbering after selecting 'Show Print Tiling' is erratic. As you can see in the attached file, there's two times 25 and 27, but 21 and 26 are missing. This is an issue if you want to avoid printing blank pages. I have to manually count to get the correct page number.

  13. Shift does not select multiple items any longer - Ai 28.0 / Mac OS 14.0/Mac Studio 2022

    Adobe AI upgraded on my system today to Illustrator 28 - 2024. Shift no longer works to select multiple objects or points. I use illustrator about 4-8 hours a day so I am very aware of the intended capability of the shift key while working. I have rebooted to hope for a resolve .... I can't seem to regain the functionality. My previous version of Ai did not perform this way. Bummed to consider having to downgrade back to previous version of Ai. Hope this helps bring attention.

  14. File Folder Permanent Deletion Bug

    I was opening up a file, and right clicked on a folder to rename it. My finger slipped, and I clicked "move to trash" which is right next to "rename"

    The folder disappeared.

    Ctrl Z did not restore it

    IT WAS NOT IN THE TRASH.

    It was GONE.

    Please investigate why files/folders are PERMANENTLY DELETED if you attempt to rename them in the open file menu and slip and hit 'move to trash' by simple mistake, or at least give a warning about PERMANENT DELETION. I am very upset to have lost a couple hours' work this way.

    It is such a basic thing, but it's not allowing me to redimension anything, texts, images, whatever; i cant redimension it with the selection tool or anything like i normally used to

  16. Fill/stroke color changes won't work despite restart/Illustrator being up to date (windows 11)

    On my PC with Windows 11 that's up-to-date (as is Illustrator), I've lost the ability to change fill and stroke color even when a shape is selected, and even after rebooting my laptop. Note the orange-circled areas in the screen capture for reference.

  18. 'Share a review link to your file' advertisement dialog still pops when disabled

    Sometimes, when I save a PDF file (at least in Illustrator Beta), I get this dialog.
    I would like to see it go away forever.

    It pops up in the most inopportune moment — when I already decided to save a PDF and when I need to SAVE my data, and not to TRY something new. 'Come not between a user and his saved data'. Saving a file is an emergency operation — always, each time — JUST DON’T INTERFERE.

  19. Smart Guides not working most of the time

    The Smart guides are not working correctly anymore. When trying to move or add an anchor point there are no smart guides to help align it. If I want use the object tool there are no guides while hovering unless a random object in my canvas is selected, then all of a suddeny smart guides work again. Once an object is created then it always has smart guides available when moving but not when trying to create it aka hovering with the object tool.
