Jagged edges and ghost dashed lines when exporting
When exporting a dashboard to jpg or png some gohst white/yellowish outlines appear.
I use plain color without outlines but the outlines appear while zooming in the screen and when I export the artwork. The problem seems to be related to black colorAlso, I used a plain dark red and it is exported as stripped lines fill .
I attach examples of exported images. They were exported with the best quality. I updated the software today (november the 2nd 2017)

Grey borders appear on rectangles when exporting to PNG (scaled)
When exporting an artboard to PNG (File > Export > Save for web), dark borders randomly appear, especially on light coloured rectangles.
– "Type Optimized" gives better results than "Art Optimized" (although the issue is originally not type related), but still not 100% perfect in certain cases (shadows...).
– The issue depends very much on the exact export resolution. In my case, I export 1600x900 artboards to 1920x1080 PNG files, i.e. a 120% ratio, which seems to be the worst case. 110%, 121%, 130%, 150%... do not cause the same borders on coloured rectangles. Actually, in some cases, if…2 votes -
SVG Exports Incorrectly - messes up art work
I have drawn a simple oval that exports correctly.
I then made 20 copies, and it exports as SVG correctly.
I then made 20 more copies (so I have 40 of these oval shapes) in two columns side-by-side. The first column exports correctly, the second column some of the ovals are longer, some are shorter and the horizonal position shifts back and forth.Used the Export Selection command. Have tried all different SVG parameters, have tried switching the columns, nothing has worked.

Rotate tool dialogue box won't appear
After selecting the rotate tool, rotate dialogue box won't appear.
a dialogue box will appear only if I double click on the rotate tool but then I am not able to move the anchor point to the center of the object.
6 votesAs per the comment, the way to call the dialog and to define the arbitrary rotation pivot is to Opt/Alt+Click the desired position when the tool is picked.
However, this does not work well sometimes, especially with a pen and a tablet, and you can upvote the problem here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/32613901

Please stop Illustrator coming to the foreground after exporting
After exporting to screens, which may take several seconds, I usually switch to the the application that receives the exported files and I continue working there.
Annoyingly, after finishing exporting the files, Illustrator pushes its way back to the foreground so that I have to switch back to the other app I was working on.
Can you stop this from happening please and leave Illustrator in the background after it has finished?2 votes -
Rotate tool repeatable bug,
Copy by Rotate Tool, Repeatable Bug

Artboard Snapping is broken when creating a new artboard
If you're creating a new artboard, you can snap the edges of the artboard to previously created artboards.
However, if you hold SHIFT to constrain proportions (handy if you're making social size assets for example), the snapping no longer works, even though you'll still see the snapping points.
Furthermore, when you constrain proportions, the artboard location will be a decimal point, meaning if you Export For Screens, you'll get extra pixels added to your artboard thanks to a different unrelated illustrator bug.
Video attached.

Rotation is too sensitive. I cannot use transform options.
Rotation was too insensitive in the previous version.
Rotation is too sensitive in this version. It is prioritizing it over everything else too much.7 votes -
alt+gr typing pass through
So, after spending an hour googling through different people having language / character issues with alt+gr on windows in Illustrator, I think I have identified what is happening (see screenshot)
Win10 can do mixed display language / keyboard layout combinations that most Adobe products will handle just fine, but Illustrator seems to set keyboard language based on general language set, not on keyboard language set.
So, if I type my normal alt gr+q for @ symbol or alt gr+e for € symbol on a german layout while using english language with german keyboard, it does not pass through as…

Can't create artboard from rectangle - Illustrator 24.2
That's all. It says that it can't create artoboards from rotated rectangles or masks. It's a freshly created rectangle.
This version of AI seems to be very buggy.

SVG Exporter with decimal to 1 rounds lower percentage opacities to 0
macOS Catalina 10.15.7, Adobe Illustrator 26.5
In the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, the SVG exporter when the decimals parameter is 1 low percentage opacities are rounded to 0 in the CSS styles of the SVG file. This problem did not exist in older versions of Adobe Illustrator (2017, 2018)
In a new Adobe Illustrator file make some paths or shapes, set fill color and set opacity to 10%.
Export for Screens / Format SVG.
Format Settings:
Styling: Internal CSS
Font: Convert To Outlines
Images: Link
Objects IDs: Minimal
Decimal: 1
Minify: false
Responsive: falseExport Artboard

Export as SVG does not properly respect letter-spacing style on text
When saving as SVG, the exporter temperamentally interprets letter-spacing as either 0 (no style exported) or "1". E.g. within Illustrator I might set letter-spacing to 185, this would be exported as just "1" without a unit. Furthermore, if I open the file again, Illustrator interprets this as "90", and if I save again, the exporter exports without any letter-spacing.

Touch Type's alternate glyphs panel should ignore view rotation.
Okay, just, look at this screenshot. Look at it. Contemplate it for a moment. Ask yourself if this feels like the right thing to do.
The type itself is at about 45º to the edges of the artboard; I've rotated the canvas to roughly align with the type so I can have a better view of it while I think about how to properly deploy Bookmania's glorious OpenType alternate forms.
I really wasn't expecting the Touch Type tool's popup to match the alignment of the canvas' edges but in retrospect I'm not surprised. NOTHING drawn in the preview window…

Disable SHIFT + SPACE Keyboard Shortcut for Rotate Canvas
A SHIFT+ SPACE keyboard shortcut for the rotate canvas tool was introduced in a minor version update of Ai 25 (sometime after 25.2.1). This keyboard shortcut is very disruptive when trying to make selections while panning around the artboard. For example, you used to be able to continually hold down the SHIFT and SPACE keys to pan around the artboard while quickly dragging the cursor around points or objects to add them to your selection. With the new rotate canvas shortcut, you have to carefully press SHIFT, make your first selection, release SHIFT, press SPACE to to pan, release, press…

Export as JPG changes file name
New issue in recent update: 25.4.1
When exporting a file as an image (JPG, PNG etc.), and while in the first dialogue window, if you select JPG (or other file type) BEFORE selecting your path/folder, the file name picks up/swaps to the folder name.
BUT, if you choose your file path/folder first, and then file type (JPG, PNG, etc.) it works fine.
Huge time suck.

Pantone or other book colors in a CMYK document look fine in Overprint preview mode but get exported to an RGB images as dull
When we add a Pantone or a different book color into a CMYK document, we can see how it looks 'for real' when we enable Overprint mode — all fair.
Then we would need to share this image with a client, so we export an RGB image... and this image shows out vivid book color as a dull-and converted-to-CMYK-and-then-to-RGB color — which is not what we have in mind.
This is a bug, honestly, I think, but also a request — we need to be able to export images as we see them in Overprint Preview mode... Ai respect overprints…

SVG export with text – line breaks forcing text to convert to outlines
I've been working on a project that requires SVG files with embedded text and have discovered what seems to be a bug.
It seemed arbitrary at first, that some text objects would be converted to outlines while others would remain as text. I finally figured out that forced line breaks were the culprit, as illustrated in the screenshots I've attached. The problem is the same whether you use point type or area type objects.
I'm currently running the latest version of Illustrator (24.1.2) on macOS High Sierra (10.13.6).
I've also noticed this issue is similar to another one that…

White lines added around exported JPGs
When I'm exporting images from Illustrator using 'Export Assets', often white lines or lighter lines are added on random edges of the images.
Screenshot shows image in Illustrator and exported image showing lighter row of pixels on image edge.
