  1. Blob Brush changes size after undo operation

    1. Illustrator CC 2017.1.0

    3. I Select blob brush on 2pt.

    4. Draw a bit with it

    5. Hit undo and the blob brush suddenly changes to a much larger size even though it says 2pt in the menu

    6. The only way to get it back is to go to Blob brush menu, select 1pt hit ok, then go back to blob brush menu and select 2pt again.

    7. I expect that when I hit undo the blob brush will stay the correct size

    8. It changes size every time I hit undo

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  2. [PARM] error?

    I have Windows 7, 64bit, running Illustrator CC and all of a sudden today I am not able to use the text tool and when I try to use the select tool on certain areas of the file the error message comes up that I attached to this.

  3. Text in Old Jazz and Blues template is not concentric

    Your recent Free template "Old Jazz and Blues" obviously is a poor design because the text on line pieces are not concentric, which presumably is what the artist intended. This free template is consequently quite useless for a professional designer.

  5. Node.js: Server-side Javascript has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem

    I went online to and followed the steps in Control Panel under Programs and Features. And the javascript message continues to pop up. Please advise

  6. AI CC2017 has flatten my work file into an image automatically

    1. Illustrator 21.1.0

    2. I use a lot of paths and layers to create effects in AI, once done I saved it. When i reopen it to edit some features, I was shocked that it flatten all my paths into an image! Nothing I can do but re-do it, painful experience!!

    I re-do (painfully), saved, reopen.....it works fine. I used that AI file to do adaptation, by copy the whole layers (file A) and paste to other AI file art board (file B).

    But when I reopen file B to further edit, file B has turn into a flatten image....again. Luckily file…

  7. New document dialog doesn't provide default values

    When in Illustrator, I typically use ctrl-n, then hit enter to automatically open a new document.

    However, the new document dialog as of Illustrator 2017.1.0 doesn't have default values filled when the dialog opens, and one is forced to pick the type of document one wants to create, from web, mobile, print, etc. instead of just hitting the "enter" key and changing these settings later.

    In other words, you are complicating the flow of creating new documents.

    Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. New document dialog in new version shows the last used profile as default selection.
    If you are still facing issue, Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here

  8. User guide correction

    Customer support asked that I make this post via their twitter account. I found that the content in the user guide identifying the various symbols and marks of the swatch panel is not accurately labeled. E and F are wrong. They should say LAB and RGB but they instead are calling the icons CMYK AND RGB. Could be highly confusing those just learning the software. Thanks!!

  9. Wrong exported image size (extra pixel added) if artboard coordinates are non-integer, not pixel-perfect

    In attached AI file there are 1 artboard if you just export it for Screens you will get an image size 105px × 104px, however in AI it's sized as 104x104px.
    Check that X coordinate of artboard is 172.34 px, so it's float. Just change it to 172px and re-publish and image will be 104x104.

    So, coordinates of artboard should affect into output PNG image.

    This issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
    If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image.

    That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.

    At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.

  10. Illustrator shows spinning circle - tried everything

    I can use the mouse, but the cursor has a spinning wheel even outside Illustrator, and the menus don't work. I've been through checklists about install/reinstall, remove user preference folder, in Illustrator as in other products, I've tried moving all the fonts I could from the fonts folder. I've rebooted multiple times. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator. After doing all this, I get error messages such as "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (SExi)", "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (CANT)".   12. Submenus don't work

    No drop down menu for the Tools are visible :
    - Direct selection (A)
    - Pen (P)
    - Text (T)
    - Stroke (Maj+ T)
    - Rectangle (M)
    - P
    - Maj + N
    - Maj + E
    -... all with a sub menu

  13. Bugged redraw/tearing when drawing a shape causes window to scroll

    1. Illustrator CC2017.1.0
    2. Click and drag with a shape tool (e.g. rectangle) and while dragging move to the edge of the window so it causes it to scroll.
    3. The window should redraw the newly visible parts of the document as the window scrolls them into view.
    4. Depending on whether GPU acceleration is enabled or not you get nothing or you get the edge pixels repeated endlessly during the scroll until you release the mouse.

  14. No DPI resolution in export file when export for screens

    When export I use export for screen, there is no DPI resolution in the exported files.

    Illustrator 21.1.0 - macOS
    1. Create a new document
    2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
    3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
    4. Export it for screens
    5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
    6. Save / Export the files
    7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop
    8. You can see that the images doesn't contain any DPI information

  15. The "HDV 1080" preset needs fixing

    The "HDV 1080" preset resolution is 1920x1080. Small point, but the resolution of HDV is 1440x1080, so the naming of it is kinda wrong. I think in Photoshop, AE & Premiere, it's referred to as the "HDTV 1080" preset, so I think it's probably a mistake/typo by someone at Adobe.

    Also, the preset gives you an extra artboard which is 14400 x 14400 px for some reason (I imagine it's also a bug), so when you try to export your file, it always defaults to exporting this artboard unless you delete it. Again, small thing but clearly a mistake and…

  16. Actions ignore dash settings

    When action is created to change line to eg. Dash 20pt, Gap 20pt, Align dashes to corners and path ends and action is run on a file, Illustrator changes only Dash size and ignoring the Gap size and aligment of dashes.
    Another action crated to scale all in a file disproportionaly and action is run, it does not scale disproportionaly - ignores disproportion values.
    Actions cannot be trasted (used to be very good in pre CC version).

  17. Text-Markierung falsch positioniert im Alle-Zeilen-Setzer

    My German is better, so I describe the problem in german.

    Wenn der Adobe Alle-Zeilen-Setzer die Zeichen verschiebt, ist die Textmarkierung nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle (egal ob ich sie zwischen zwei Buchstaben platziere oder einen Abschnitt markiere). Ich kann so vorher nicht mehr wissen, an welcher Stelle die Text-Eingabe erfolgt. Längere Texte zu schreiben wird so zu einer Tortur. Es muss natürlich wieder so funktionieren, dass ich die Markierung wieder an der Stelle sehe, wo auch das Programm sie sieht. Momentan ist der einzig mögliche Workaround, zuerst den Ein-Zeilen-Setzer zu aktivieren, den Text komplett auszuformulieren und am Ende…

  18. Filled shape does not follow the curve exactly

    If I fill the new shape with color it doesn´t really work. I get a straight outline instead of a curve. Additionally there is a difference between outline view and colored view.

  19. AltGr key not working

    AltGr key does not work as intended, it currently only produces a Ctrl+Alt keypress. On many European keyboard layouts it is used to type e.g. characters @, [, {, |, \, ~, and currency symbols (€, $, £). The only way to circumvent this is to use e.g. Notepad to type in the characters and copy-pasting them, which is a nuisance. All the other Adobe CC apps - just as basically every other Windows app in the world - use AltGr as intended, so why does not Illustrator?

    AltGr is supposed to be equivalent to Alt + ctrl.
    At present, when we press e.g. AltGr + E while writing text, we check if any command can handle it and if yes it is not passed to application to handle key event. That’s why existing commands are triggered on those extended char shortcuts.

    If we want to change the behavior that while writing text key shortcuts (e.g. AltGr + E) should write extended character, Then we will have to sacrifice all the text contextual shortcuts we have at present in app e.g. ctrl + alt + I does something. All those commands would stop working.
    This is the reason why we are moving it to the feature

  20. Cannot undo paragraph or character style changes or deletions

    If I make any changes to paragraph of character styles, I cannot undo them, even if I delete a style. Changes are not registered at all as undo states. The only way to undo is to revert to a previous save.
