1. Mesh objects don't get selected when only edge is marqueed

   All paths in AI get selected when you draw a marque over their edge (with no points inside selection). Segment got selected. It is fine.

   But mesh objects are immune to edge marqueing, because there is no 'segment' thing for a mesh. WHY? Why don't you make the same thing as it's done for paths? Just select seam between mesh points and allow to move both points adjacent when seam is 'selected'.

   I put this into Bugs, because I consider this a bug rather than request. Like 'Selecting segments in mesh is broken all these years since introduction and everybody just silent about it'.

   P.S. Thank you for quietly fixing unenlargeable markers for mesh objects, I appreciate it a lot

2. Gradient angle got reset to zero, when using Color Picker

   22.1
   1. Create path
   2. Apply gradient
   3. Change gradient angle
   4. Select gradient stop
   5. Double-click Fill in toolbox to open Color picker
   6. Choose any OTHER color
   7. Hit OK

   Angle got reset to 0 (almost always)

3. Freeze on First File Opened if it has Missing Fonts

   Illustrator CC version 22.1
   OS: Windows 10 Pro, version 1803

   1) Launch Illustrator
   2) Open Ai file
   3) If the first file I open after launching Ai has missing fonts the program freezes before it populates the missing fonts dialogue box. I have to force quit the application from task manager and relaunch.

   Any subsequent files that are opened after the first file do not have this issue regardless of missing fonts. I am currently working around this issue by opening a file that I know has no missing fonts first before I'm able to open any files that may have missing fonts.

   Illustrator CC version 22.1

4. Pathfinder resets the transformation of a gradient

   I have an ellipse with radial fill and I want it to be partially cropped by rectangle.
   I select both rectangle with no fill, intersecting my circle, and apply Divide from Pathfinder.
   I expect middle part to have gradient, positioned as uncut circle, but it becomes clear.
   If i swap order of these objects, middle part has gradient, but AI resets it's position.

6. iMac 5k 2017 w/ Radeon Pro 580 - Illustrator very slow on GPU preview

   Illustrator version 22.01
   macOS 10.12.6
   iMac 5k 2017 w/ i5 3,8Ghz - 16Gb RAM - 2TB Fusion - Radeon Pro 580
   All the file (also a very little file) is slow on movement, on move object and run with shot and NOT fluid. Slow on select object or shape or everything on file.
   The same file opened on a "slow and old" MacMini with the same configuration and the same macOS is not slow and the movement is very fluid.
   Switching to CPU cause the same things, everything is very slow. Also switching to Print Preview is slow.

7. No resize handles

   My Selection tool does not show the resize handles anymore — this is making it nearly impossible to design easily — I have to measure and assign all aspects if it isn't sized right the first go. I have tried everything to fix it and I need it for school.

   This usually happens when Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+B gets accidentally pressed. It disables the bounding box (which can be useful in many workflows). You can toggle it back with the same hotkey or via View > Show Bounding Box.

8. Expanded Objects have missing Corner Widgets

   1. Problem occurs in all versions of Illustrator 21.x.x and 22.x.x

   2. When an Object with a non-simple Appearance is Expanded the resulting shapes have Corner Widgets created for some of the corners but not for others.

   3. All corners should have Corner Widgets.

   4. When an Object with a non-simple Appearance is Expanded the resulting shapes have Corner Widgets created for some of the corners but not for others. I don't understand why when I expand a rectangle I get a new rectangle with 3 corners that have Corner Widgets but the 4th corner doesn't have a Corner Widget - how can it be that it works correctly for some corners but not others?! It seems incredible that such a simple and common operation doesn't work correctly.

9. "Place copy" of RGB CC library item in CMYK doc changes document color setting to RGB

   Illustrator 21.1.0
   1. Created text or other items in an RGB AI doc.
   2. Add to CC library via drag and drop.
   
   3. Open CMYK AI doc
   4. Right click the RGB item and select "Place Copy" (looks like that's cut off on the GIF — probably recorded with too few frames).

   Expected result: RGB items converted to CMYK

   Actual result: CMYK doc converted to RGB

10. Creating and/or Entering Opacity Mask doesn’t work from Properties / Control panels

    When clicking on the Opacity popu-up panel (in Control or Properties) and then clicking on the mask thumbnail to activate that mode, the thumbnail highlights but as soon as I attempt to edit the contents of the mask, it shows that the mode is not activated. Only if I select the 'Clip' checkbox in the Opacity panel will it allow me to edit the mask. But then clicking the 'Object' thumbnail in the Opacity panel, similarly does not exit mask-editing mode. I have to uncheck the 'Clip' checkbox to get back to normal mode. Previously, simply clicking on each thumbnail would easily switch between mask mode and normal editing mode.

    MacOS 15.4.1 (24E263)
    Illustrator 29.5.1

11. Rasterizing an object inside of a clipping group flattens the clipping group itself

    If we need to rasterize one selected object inside of the clipping group, we have to isolate the object to avoid flattening the clipping group. Isolating only the clipping group won’t help, we have to 'drill into' the object specifically!

    This doesn’t happen for simple groups — with these we don’t have to isolate anything at all, just selecting a child is enough.

12. Undo Release Clipping Mask Does Nothing

    I recently noticed that if I unclip an object, by accident or necessity, that I cannot undo the step either through the menu Undo or Command key Undo.

    I can clip and Command-Z to unclip.
    I can manually unclip and Command-Z to reclip.
    If I clip, I Command-z to unclip and then Command + Option + Z to redo my last action and it will properly clip.

    But if I just manually unclip, and then use the Undo command to reclip it like it was? It doesn't work. Nothing happens and it moves on in the history.

    I am on Mac OS X and running Illustrator 29.1.

    The display in Illustrator is different from the exported PDF.

    The display of the PDF and the display on Illustrator will be the same.

    The difference in the group structure in Illustrator causes a difference between the rendering result
    Even if a page knockout group is set, Illustrator will not perform knockout processing for group that unchecked knockout groups and will process in blending mode. However, when outputting a PDF, all objects are written out in a knockout. It is difficult to say which is correct, but it seems to me that the range of expression would be expanded if the setting to deny knockouts for groups were also enabled for PDF export.

14. XMPMeta is not defined on ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS #515

    As of ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS, XMPMeta has stopped working. However, it works fine on:
    - ILST 28.7.1 on Windows
    - ILST 28.6 on MacOs

    The issue also exists on ILST (Beta) 29.1 on MacOs.

    We have fixed this issue in 29.0 and 28.7.2 releases.

15. The cursor is going to the opposite side while typing in Middle East world ready composer in Illustrator Hebrew / English Arabic language

    Typing in Hebrew Language in Illustrator installed In English Hebrew Language. Selected Middle Eastern Single Line composer and the cursor is going to the opposite direction in Illustrator 28.1

    This issue is believed to be fixed in the build 28.4.0.20.

17. Add an option for the Transform effect to use visible bounds of a clipping object

    Transform effect is one of the most powerful thing Ai has, compared to whole Repeats functionality. It’s versatile, it works with anything (unlike Repeats).

    This combination of effect options applied to a clipped ellipse should produce a result like the green one at thee right... instead, the object is reflected from the right side of the circle inside, not the mask!

    At the same time, if one decides to flip it from it’s left edge — Ai should not do it from the bounds of the clipping mask, the way it does now, but the circle!

    Again, both can be useful.
    So — please make it as an option!

    Transform effect is one of the most powerful thing Ai has, compared to whole Repeats functionality. It’s versatile, it works with anything (unlike Repeats).

18. Ai crashes (hangs) after installing (and selecting) Google Noto Color Emoji font!

    Since Ps has added NCE (Noto Color Emoji) font, Ai doesn't recognize it! I downloaded the font from GFont (NCE v2.038). After installing (for "All users"), whenever I select the NCE font in Ps or Ai, those apps crash (hang)!

    If I uninstall the font (which I downloaded from GFont, not the Ps native installed one) and reinstall Ps, the font works OK, but again it doesn't appear in the Ai font list!

19. Wacom is crashing Illustrator 2023

    It crashes within in minutes. It will crash while selecting a tool, moving the screen, or trying to use a tool--any function using a Wacom. There is rarely a crash report and often it's not even open long enough for the 2 minute autosave to kick in. I'm on a pc with Windows 10 and 27.2 cc.

20. Free Distort effect doesn’t work properly with Freeform gradients

    When Free Distort effect is applied to a path with a freeform gradient fill (we all now know it’s not a real fill), the stops just vanish if they happen to 'fall out' beyond the resulting path — the same way they get dropped when you edit a path with a Direct Selection tool (which can also be treated as a bug, because you are just ditching user data — these color stops should be able to be placed outside of the path!)

    Images 6 and 7 show what happens if you try to make the shape larger than the original with same effect — we gat to see that technical offset Ai generates to work around the nature of the triangular mesh fill generated.

    It all looks like the effect gets applied to the invisible clipping mask of the resulting container, not like it happens for a NORMAL fill.

    ...but, if you drag the effect above the fill in the Appearance panel (image 8), you’ll get the look we wanted to create in the first place.

    Nothing like this happens for ordinary gradients, there is no visual difference if the effect is above or below the fill. However, the fill is actually never distorted at all — which is not cool. You have mesh tech! 'Distort linear gradients', as envelopes can do! Distort freeform meshes too!

    And yeah, you need to integrate new tools better.
