2. Shortcuts stop working

   Sometimes my shortcuts on the keyboard just stops working, so I can't press cmd+d to duplicate, or copy etc, while I'm able to press Spacebar to move around.
   they just deactivate by themselves, while other's continue to work. To resolve this, I have to restart the program every time, even after short periods of working on the current project.

   The current project isn't even graphic intensive, but I get this issue. This has happened before a few times.

3. ブラックの色をドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100の色がリッチブラックになる

   塗り（または線）を画像のように下のブラックを選択するところからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100がリッチブラックになってしまった。 
ドラッグ＆ドロップではなく、クリックで色を選ぶとBK100になる。スウォッチの中に入っているブラックからドラッグ＆ドロップで選ぶとBK100になる。これはCS6の時からある
バグです。

4. Can't see anchor point and handles of paths after breaking link to symbol.

   1. Version 21.1.0
   2. Draw the circle or any other simple shape, convert it to symbol then break link to symbol. Choose Direct selection tool and click on any anchor point. As result you will not see the handles of any point. The handles are shown only in isolation mode or outline mode but not in basic prewiew mode.

5. Large Amounts of Text overrun text area, disregard justification

   I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).
   I am creating a 6'x4' poster, where a single text box holds the entire text of the Bible (~730,000 words) as a single string of text (regular spaces between words, but no paragraph returns) in Helvetica Neue Lt Std, 107 Extra Bold Condensed, 3 pt size with 2.7 pt leading, all caps, full justification, default hyphenation. I am using a text wrap around a compound object with a transparent fill to create a negative space in the midst of this text block (in my case, that compound object is text converted to a shape, so the negative space forms the mission statement of our church).

   I'd expect the text to full justify properly, aligning to the left and right edges of the rectangular text box and evenly around the compound shape.

   The actual result is in the attached image; as you can see in the attached "illustrator-FullJustificationIssue-2.jpg" and "...-3.jpg", the text both over- and underruns the right edge of both the text box and compound shape it's supposed to be wrapping around.

   I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).

   We are able to reproduce this issue in house and we are investigating it .

6. プレビュー用のPDFの文字が化けました

   macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
   Adobe Illustrator v29.7.1
   他社で作成されたCentury Gothic Regular が使われているIllustratorドキュメント（作成バージョンは29.7）を開いて修正して保存した。
   このデータはInDesignドキュメントにリンク配置されていた。
   InDesignドキュメントの表示の、Century Gothicの数字が異なる数字になっていた。
   1→3、0→2 のように。
   修正した環境にはCentury Gothicがインストールされていない。Font Bookに表示されない。
   が、Illustratorはフォントエラーを表示することなく、開いた。
   PDFを書き出すと、正常に表示される。
   プレビューのPDFのみ化けている。
   その後、調べてみると、Illustrator内では「/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/FontServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Fonts/ApplicationSupport/CenturyGothic.ttc」が使用されていることがわかった。
   また、Illustrator v28.7.9ではプレビューのPDFが正常に表示された。
   さらに、「/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/FontServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Fonts/ApplicationSupport/CenturyGothic.ttc」を適当なFontsフォルダにインストールすると、Illustrator v29.7.1でもプレビューのPDFが正常に表示された。
   コミュニティの記述にv29.2.1までダウンバージョンすると様々なバグが回避できるとあったので、ダウンバージョンしてみたが、やはり化ける。
   v29.0までダウンバージョンしてみたが、全て化けた。
   再現方法としては、
   1. Century Gothicをライブラリ/Fonts フォルダに入れる
   2. Illustratorでドキュメントを新規作成
   3. 数字を入力
   4. 書体をCentury Gothic Regularにする
   5. 保存して閉じる
   6. Century Gothicをライブラリ/Fonts フォルダから外す
   7. 5.のドキュメントを開く
   8. 修正して保存（または別名保存）
   以上を、各バージョンのIllustratorで実行。
   InDesignに貼り付けるまでもなく、Finderのプレビューで確認できる。

7. All Text Disappeared!

   I saved my file as .aic but the next time I opened it all the text layers disappeared! Everytime I open the file it automatically creates a recovered version also, but still no text. I also cannot download the version from cloud that shows the last version I made with all the text still visible.

8. Curved paths not honouring guide styles / Guides are not dotted

   When converting artwork to guides, anything that has a curved path does not show the guide style set up in preferences. In my case I have guides set up as a dashed line with a light grey colour. What I'm seeing is a solid black line. Happens in AI 29.6.1 and the beta 29.7 88. Sample shows two shapes converted to guides but the ellipse remains as a solid black line. Using MacOS 14.7.6.

   1. 新規ドキュメントにポイントテキストを複数作成する。そのうち、いくつかは縦組みに設定。
   2. すべてのポイントテキストを選択してグループ化する。
   3. ダイレクト選択ツールまたはTツールで縦組みのテキストを選択する。
   4. メニュー：書式→組み方向を選択した際に縦組みテキストを選択しているにもかかわらず横組にチェックが入っている。

   期待する結果
   縦組みのテキストを選択した際には該当メニューで縦組みにチェックマークがついている。

   実際の結果
   縦組みを選択しているにも関わらず横組みにチェックマークがついている。

   この縦組み・横組の表示は選択範囲に複数の状態が含まれた場合にデフォルトの横組が選択されるという挙動になっています。端的に言って、この複数ステートをデフォルトで表示してしまうのも問題です。本来であれば双方にチェックマークがつかない状態で表示するべきところです。

10. Custom art brush results in way too many anchor points when expanded

    Having a simple path (with minimum amount of points), applying a simple art brush (with minimum amount of points), and then expanding it gives a ton of extra points, hardly needed to define resulting shapes.

    It worked MUCH better in CS4... and then became much worse in CS6 (or perhaps in CS5) — take a look at the images attached.

    Yes, there are tools to deal with the mess afterwards: native Simplify, plugin VectorFirstAid... but it should not be like this in the first place.

    And please, do not 'solve' it by throwing in another hidden Simplify like you did to deal with Variable Strokes!!! This leads to loosing symmetrical point pairs across the stroke, it makes it work slower while editing! Just do better math, optimize each cluster but keep their edge-points intact! Look at the CS4 again, dust off from some old code!

    In macOS apps, it is customary to append “...” to menu items that require the user to perform additional actions after selecting the menu item (e.g., modal dialogs). This is found in the Human Interface Guidelines | Apple Developer Documentation.

    

    Illustrator 2025 (29.4) followed this rule, but Illustrator 2025 (29.5) has departed from this rule for a few items.

    • File > Generate Vectors
    • Object > Generate Vectors
    • Object > Gen Shape Fill

    

    The change should be allowed if it is intentional, but seeing that the other items still follow the rules, it is probably just a mistake. It is expected state that it ends with “...”.

    macOSのアプリでは、メニュー項目を選択した後ユーザーに追加のアクションを要求するもの（例えばモーダルダイアログなど）には「...」をつける慣習があります。これは Human Interface Guidelines | Apple Developer Documentation に書かれています。

    

    Illustrator 2025 (29.4) まではこれに従っていましたが、Illustrator 2025 (29.5) ではいくつかの項目がこの法則から外れました。

    • ファイル > ベクターを生成
    • オブジェクト > ベクターを生成
    • オブジェクト > 生成塗りつぶし (シェイプ)

    

    意図してそうしているなら変化は許容されるべきですが、ほかの項目がいまだ法則に従っているのを見ると、おそらくは間違えただけでしょう。末尾に「...」がつくのが予想される状態です。

12. Offset Path and Aligned Strokes get rendered partially with a specific handle configuration

    When a curved segment of a path has diverging handles that are oriented in different quadrants across the X axis (this is my guess), like it’s shown in the attached document and the GIF, Illustrator renders the result only up to the horizontal tangents of the path. Same thing happens if you try to toggle Align Stroke options (they seem to use the Offset math).

    Adding and extra point on the rendered segment helps, but it’s not really a solution.
    The bug is quite old and perhaps it’s time to get it fixed?

13. 中韓フォントの文字組みを変更してもアキが変わらない

    フォント「思源黑體 TW」の文字組みを「なし」や「行末約物半角」などに変更しても、アキ量が変化しない現象がありました。
    上記現象が発生したバージョンは下記の通りです。

    OS：Windows 10 Pro
    Illustrator CC：V 29.1、V 29.2、V 29.3.1（V 29.2.1、V 29.3は調べてません）
    なお、V 29.0、V 28.7.3 は当該現象は発生していません。

    問題発生時の手順：

    ・スクリプトを使いCSVデータを読み込んで文字情報を取得、文字をイラストに書き込む
    ・文字入力後、フォント「思源黑體 TW」へ変更
    上記どちらでも問題が発生します。

    想定していた結果：
    添付をご参照ください。
    　V29.0文字組み「なし」.png
    　V29.0文字組み「行末約物半角」.png

    実際の結果：
    添付をご参照ください。
    　V29.1文字組み「行末約物半角」.png
    　V29.1文字組み「なし」.png
    この２つの全角、半角のアキが同じ（変化がない）となっております。
    （どれを選んでも「なし」と同じ状態です）

    他のフォント（下記）で試してみましたが、アキ量の変化は確認できました。

    ・源ノ角ゴシック JP
    ・A-OTF UD新ゴ Pr6N L
    ・メイリオ
    ・游ゴシック

    Illustratorフォーラムにも投稿し他の方にもご検証いただいたところ、日本語以外（繁体字、簡体字、ハングル）のフォントで同様の現象が起きているようです。
    また、InDesign20.1(2025)でも同様の現象が起きているようです。

14. Appearance items loose focus when get an effect assigned

    When I pick a fill in Appearance panel and assign an effect to it, the item looses focus suddenly — take a look at the GIF attached.

    If my stack there is complex enough (and they often are), it’s hard to locate the fill/stroke I was working with.

15. Pressing None button in tool Panel for mixed fill/stroke doesn’t work

    If you have a selection with different fills and/or strokes, Ai will mark it with question marks in fill/color selector.

    And if you want set it to None, you should be able to click the button below — but it doesn’t work.

    But the same button in Color panel works, and the '/' hotkey works.

    Please fix this.

16. Illustrator prevents Mac display from sleeping due to inactivity

    When Illustrator is left open for some time, it prevents my MacBook display from turning off and locking. It also prevents the screensaver from coming on. I am 100% sure this is caused by Illustrator because I have done the following experiment twice:

    1. Change the screen saver to come on after 1 minute.
    2. Leave the Mac idle for over 1 minute.
    3. Screen saver does not start.
    4. Close Illustrator application.
    5. Leave the Mac idle again.
    6. Observe that the screen saver starts and the computer locks after 1 minute.

    After restarting Illustrator, the problem goes away for a short time but then starts again. It does not seem to be connected with having an unsaved document open. The last time I tested it, there were no unsaved files.

    Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1
    Illustrator 2024 version 28.6

17. Can’t select an object under a locked object

    I'd like to be able to work on an area that is under a locked layer.
    Currently I can't select anything that is under it. Selection tools just want to select the object on top that it ain't allowed to select... Can't it ignore it? It is locked.

    Maybe there is a paramaeter somewhere about it, but I didn't find it so far.

    Example of use : You have a reference image/object that you put on top with multiply or darken mode and some transparency.
    You could say put it under your working layer and ask you working layer to be in that fusion mode but I'd rather not change its fusion mode as this would be the illustration in the end (then I have to put it back on normal fusion) while the reference would go away anyway.
    I don't see a work around with isolation as I can't have the object on top with its multiply/darken fusion mode.

    This most probably happens because of the 'Select and Unlock objects on canvas' option being enabled in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section.

    It allows to 'select' and unlock all or chosen objects directly on canvas. If you wish to have this option split into two — one for unlock widgets and one for having an ability to 'select' locked objects — please upvote a corresponding feature request here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48753221

18. Shift-clicking a swatch in Control bar to show alternate color UI no longer works

    Shift-clicking a swatch in Control panel no longer opens the color mixer.
    Clicking a swatch in Control panel then double-clicking the swatch no longer works.

19. Width tool not working right: can’t adjust widths at the first point of the path

    Have a fairly simple shape inside a radial repeat x 12. That shape has about 4 width adjustments. And one of them has a hard adjustment, from wider to smaller, but it acts really weird and can't make it a smooth width. It doesn't have two width adjustments on top of each other, and I can't delete the width adjustment. This has happened twice in different files, made separately but with similar processes. Can't seem to find a way to fix this besides deleting and starting over.

20. Objects from CC library placed in document, then embedded, do not respond logically to alignment commands.

    I've encountered this on three different apple machines over 2 years. Currently:
    1. macOS Monterey 12.7.5
    2. Illustrator 28.5
    3. Create graphic (ex. a logo) and add it to a CC Library. Place the Object in a new document. Embed it. Use direct select tool to select bounding box and delete it (so logo can be selected to change fill color, for example). Try to align object to either key object or artboard. It's likely the logo will move errantly left or right.
    4. I expect align to work as with a normal (non library) object.
