Adding an asset to the Asset Export panel adds another object with it
In the attached document when selecting one object and adding it to the Asset Export panel (with or without 'Option' key pressed), it'll always add the Light Red Curved brush the artboard #1, as if this line magnetized to all vectors on that artboard.

transform rotate not working as it should
Draw a vertical line.
Choose Object > Rotate
Change the degrees and click Copy.
The original has now rotated the chosen amount and made a copy at the same time.
The original vertical line should still be there, and a new one (the copy) should be at an angle. Not both rotated.

Issues with using Assets Export in Isolation mode
If you enter the isolation mode of any objects and try to export any artboard by using Assets Export, it will eventually generate the wrong assets. However, if you exit the Isolation mode and try again to the same process, it will be all fine.

Intermittent SVG Text Export Bug
Intermittent SVG Text Export Bug
In 23.0.2 (and 23.0.3) when exporting and SVG sometimes text is exported as <text> tags with the layer name as an ID and sometimes the text is wrapped in a <g> and the <g> has an id with the layer name and the <text> element has no id.
The behavior is arbitrary, but one a text element begins exporting wrapped in a <g> it stays that way. Sometimes an element, after editing the text or font, that was exporting correctly will begin exporting wrapped (incorrectly).
This issue makes post-export…

Duplicated artboards containing Export Assets link to the new artwork not the original
As the title says, Assets in the Export panel move from the original artboard and become linked to the new artwork on the duplicated artboards. Subsequently when you remove any artwork from the new artboard, you inadvertantly remove the asset from the Export panel.
Methodology:
Duplicate an artboard (which contains an asset in the export assets panel) via the Alt-drag method. Ensure the move/copy artwork option is enabled. Delete the new copy of the artwork/asset on the new artboard, and the asset is removed from the export panel.Expected behaviour:
Any link to/connection to export assets should be retained by…4 votes -

Panels load on different screens
The setup: I am working on 2 4K Monitors. 1 is a 32" LG and the other is the 24" Wacom Cintiq Pro (however, this happens regardless of what type of monitor you have). I don't spread my workflow between monitors like some people do, I prefer to have browsing on one and my Illustrator workspace on the other. However, since I do work with a Cintiq I very often swap my workspace from my Cintiq back to my monitor. Here is where the problem lies!
Whenever I activate any dialog box/panel (Rotate, Save, Mirror, Scale, Simplify ...any of them)…5 votes -
"Export as" not working as expected
When I file > export > export as ... e.g. png, using the "use artboards" function the "save as" dialog isn't working properly ...
first it doesn't save the name I typed exactly ... "Version 1.2.png" it somehow uses parts of already existing file names like "Version 1.2_Text.png" which is really weird ...
second if I use parts of the name of a file that already exists like "Text_Version 1.2.png" in the saving process and Text.png already exists it asks me if I want to overwrite that file...

Cannot export large files to .png format at 300dpi
I’m using the command: File > Export As > PNG
Use artboards: Not selected
Resolution: High (300dpi)
Ahti-Aliasing: None
Background Color: TransparentI have an immediate need to export Illustrator files of roughly 8000 px by 6500px to .png format at 300dpi. I tried doing this with a file containing a complicated drawing, but it fails and displays an error box saying:
The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [!now]
I created a simple file containing a few filled rectangles and experimented, with the following results: (all set to export to .png at 300dpi with no anti aliasing)…

PDF Export/Save .joboptions not appearing; cannot use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard joboptions
Adobe PDF Export presets (.joboptions) that work in ID, PS do not appear as options in Save As > PDF in AI.
Edit > Adobe PDF Presets... show they are installed. Attempting to Install them manually returns an error: "The preset '[XX.joboptions]' is not recognized as a valid .joboptions file." They cannot be Edited nor Exported from this dialog. (Even though they can be Edited and reimported in other apps.)
Affected presets use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard.
Illustrator requires PDF Export presets specifying Standard PDF/X-4:2007 or lower/None.
Creating new presets within Illustrator and selecting "Standard: PDF/X-4:2010" in the dialog actually creates…

PDF export without color conversion converts RGB images to CMYK
This is a bug that occurs in Illustrator 2025 (29.2.1) and later.
When an RGB image is placed as a linked file in a CMYK document, it gets converted to CMYK upon PDF export, even if "No Color Conversion" is selected. In Illustrator 2025 (29.2.0) and earlier, the image remained in RGB.
This bug affects only PNG and JPG files. Other formats, such as PSD, remain in RGB.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new CMYK document.
- Place an RGB image (PNG or JPG) as a linked file (do not embed).
- Export the document as a PDF with "No Color…

SVG Text Export - multilayer bug
I am having an issue with text on a path and after SVG export the code shows the text now broken to multiple layers - this does not translate appropriately to web. This happens specifically if the text path is an angle interval of 45 degrees; intervals of 90 degrees work fine, all other degrees break this text path apart during export.
I am wondering if there is a way around this, or a different manner in which I should place text so that it may still be placed at a specific angle but remain all on the same…

Asset Export Incorrectly Clipping
If you create a filled rounded rectangle with a 1 pt border, add it to the Asset Export panel and export, the end result is noticeably clipped. Even though the shape may be aligned to be pixel perfect and the stroke aligned so that it should be inside, the output shows the frame is now non uniform in terms of stroke width.
If you didn't use stroke, you probably won't notice the inaccuracy.
See the attached image and the edges are clearly truncated.
Says there are some fundamental alignment issues that need to be addressed.

Resizing rotated rectangle using selection tool drags wrong side
If I use the rectangle tool to create a square/rectangle, rotate it (for example, 45 degrees), then try to resize using the selection tool, it resizes the wrong side. For example, if I drag the bottom left side, it moves the bottom right side.
I've included a screen record demonstrating the issue.
Operating system is Mac, Mojave, 10.14.6
Illustrator version is 25.0.1 (though this bug has been noticed in older versions)

in Version 24.02 when trying to export a single PDF with all art boards AI will only export single pages, why?
I updated to 24.02 this morning and now I am unable to save PDF files as multi-page documents. No matter what setting I select AI will only export whatever artboard I am currently working on at the time of export. This was not an issue for me yesterday. So frustrated.

Exporting as PNG I am loosing part of my stroke
I'm having a problem while exporting as PNG from Illustrator CC. I use export for screens and I adjust the size width and high and choose PNG format to export. The when I open my image in png format my stroke is getting cut off. :/
