  1. Asset export does not include appearance outside bounding box area of text objects (preview bounds are ignored)

    In Illustrator 2025 (using version 29.3.1), when exporting assets, appearance elements outside the bounding box area are cut off.
    In 2024 (28.7.5) and 2023 (27.9.6), all elements are exported without cutting.

    Reproduction Procedure
    1. create a text object
    2. add a bold stroke color to the text
    3. add as an asset export item
    4. export the asset

    Expected result
    Designs with stroke color should be exported as in previous versions without problems.

  2. Error css classes in svg export

    In version before 26.2, applying a graphic style to a simple object (rectangle, line, etc.) allowed the name of that graphic style to be used as a CSS class in the an exported SVG. So a graphic style of "thick-outline" would become a CSS class called ".thick-outline" when the SVG file was exported with internal CSS.

    Now, a useless class called "cls-1" is applied to the illustrator object instead, making re-use of overriding of the style in the SVG difficult. This is a regression that makes the usefulness of the SVG export feature limited.

  3. Asset Library Export stopped working with batch exporting

    From today for some reason batch exporting icons does not work in the Asset Export. I have a set of 150 icons that I use, and only change the color combinations as required. It always worked flawlessly. From today, When I click export, it seems to work, but no icons get exported when all are chosen. If I manually check a few at a time it works, but if I choose All Assets, it wont work anymore. Tried rebooting and clearing the cache.

  4. Blurry PNG Export

    I've used Adobe Illustrator for the best part of 7 years, and not once have any of my exports (PNG, TIFF, SVG) have been blurry until today.

    I have tried everything, read every forum, watched videos, updated, reinstalled... the list goes on... but still all my exports for my art, design and graphics all come out blurry!!!!!!!

    I don't know what has changed since the latest update or whatever it may be. It is frustrating to have all that work and not be able to have a crisp export.

  6. Filled area text boxes do not export to SVG (v. 28.4.1)

    In the current 28.4.1 version, our files do not export to SVG correctly. You can easily reproduce this by creating any area text box and apply a fill to the box. The text will export, but not the filled box. We use this for all our our org charts and other graphics where we want the text to be easily centered in the boxes as the boxes get resized and moved.

  7. Circle size change when rotating

    When I rotate a perfect circle, the size changes up to .004”. A 15”x15” circle, when rotated 17.184° becomes a 15.004”x15.004” circle. I know it may sound trivial, but I’m creating technical drawings that have to be accurate to the ten thousandths of an inch.

  8. Exporting SVG using different methods provides different results

    When exporting as an svg using the native "Export, export for screens" Adobe exports the svg as an svg 1.0.

    Which isn't as commonly supported as svg 1.1

    However, if a user opens that same svg in illustrator and bypasses the export as, and just does cmd + s, it becomes an svg 1.1

    It would be useful to always have the same format rather than different ones. Preferably always save as svg 1.1

    Hi Daniel,

    Thanks a lot for reaching out to the Illustrator team. As a matter of fact, the newer SVG2 specification does no longer use versions anymore.

    The main reason is that all modern SVG import tools/browsers ignored the version number and just open with what ever is in the SVG file.

    Due to the implementation behaviour and the spec change and to reduce file size, all export scenarios do no longer export with a “version” attribute. That does NOT mean that SVG files get interpreted as version 1.0! The exported features matter not the version number.

    We will update the Save as (CMD+S) route in the future to follow the pattern of SVG export.

  9. Asset Export panel list view trims filenames to approx 24 characters

    Asset Export list view should show full file name or clip to panel width. As it stands, my file names are being trimmed even though there is plenty of room to show the full name.

  10. Can't export a PNG file ([now!] error)

    Hello,

    I am trying to export my illustration in PNG at 300 dpi, but every time it is showing me the attached error. It's not with this file only. Even if I am trying to export a simple rectangle, I am getting the same error. I am using windows 8.1 pro and illustrator version is 2018.

    Kindly help.

  11. Illustrator crashes when switching views in the Asset Export panel

    Has this been reported yet? There's a really easy-to-reproduce crash bug in Adobe Illustrator involving the Asset Export panel that affects even the latest version (24.2) .
    If the Asset Export panel contains more than two items and an item other than the first is currently being renamed and the view is attempted to be switched from Grid View to List View, the mouse cursor will begin to move really slowly for a few seconds and after that, Illustrator will crash.   12. Name artboard is not added to the file name when exporting (JPG or PNG, etc.)

    When executing the command "File > Export As" and exporting, for example, to JPG, the name artboard 3 "preview" is not automatically added to the file name. Everything was fine in the previous version (26.3.1) of Illustrator.

  13. Intertwine bug when export as pdf X4

    mac os 12.6, illustrator 2023
    create 2 intertwining circles, save as PDF X4 with the Illustrator default settings and you get a bitmap instead of vector data..
    by choosing "compatibility: acrobat 8" the problem does not appear.

  15. Cannot Export Print Quality PNG from Illustrator 2021 Mac OS Catalina

    Every time I try to export my large print quality files from Illustrator as .png, I get an error message. The Operation Cannot Complete Because of an Unknown Error [!now] I am trying to maintain the 300dpi quality because this is how my printer accepts files. (As .png.) My Illustrator file is 10000 x 10000 pixels at 300 dpi. I have tried it as 150 dpi and all of the export settings and always get the error message.   16. Illustrator is not exporting with the current file name

    1. Create a document
    2. Draw a rectangle (just for it to have something inside)
    3. Save it anywhere as '1.ai'
    4. Export a, say, TIF, with default settings (these don't really matter) — Ai will offer '1.tif' name for the file exported
    5. Save this document as '2.ai'
    6. Export another TIF — Ail will use '1.tif' name, although the file is now '2.ai' This is wrong. Ai should adapt the name from the file actual name and not the original one.

  17. Changing size in export doesn't change size

    When exporting files via Save As, if I change the size, it doesn't update the actual export size until I do something else, like toggle the clip to artboard on and off or change from optimize for Art to for type. This has been a persistent error across versions of Illustrator and MacOS for some time.

    Once you hit tab to leave that portion of the export dialogue, it should update without any additional steps.

  18. SVG Export - Compound Paths Cause Performance Issues & Unexpected Results

    Windows 10, Illustrator 25.2.3 | System info attached and repro file attached.

    There are 2 artboards and asset exports defined in the file.

    They are the same illustration with 1 difference - the "grouped" version has a set of paths grouped together, and the "compound" version has those same paths combined into a compound path.

    I ran 3 test exports with my repro file, increasing paths: first 500 paths, then 1000 paths, and finally 1500 paths. Here's the export times:

    Test 1 | 0500 paths | Grouped: 10 seconds | Compound: 130 seconds

  19. Export Selection, Assets Panel not saving as before

    Prior to 25.4.1 I would highlight objects, Export Selection, Assets Tab, select the image, give it a filename, specify the export folder location (same every time), scale the image as 1.2x, put a suffix as @1.2, format = PNG 8 and the Export. Previously in Mac OS 10.15.7 (Catalina) the exported file when selected in Finder would show Dimensions, Resolution, and Color Space in the file details preview. This is no longer the case.   20. Bug: Export to SVG messing up illustration

    When i export an artboard or selection to svg it messes up the location of some parts of the illustration while exporting to other formats (png) works correct. I use illustrator version 26.3.1. I have like 20 other artboards with other illustrations, all messed up. Like a month ago it still worked.
