  2. Stroke issues with text containers when exporting into SVG

When exporting to SVG, text frames are interpreted as separate entities and inherit stroke/fill attributes from the text or group they are in. This results in unwanted strokes around the text frame itself. With other formats there are no issues.

    Attached a native-export-png and a result of a svg-export-png.

  3. Clipping Mask broken in SVG export if name contains hyphen

An Illustrator document that contains a clipping mask will not export correctly if the path used for clipping has a - in the name.

In the resulting SVG code, the path definition looks like this:

    <rect id="clipping-path" ... >

but the reference to it looks like this:

    <use xlink:href="#clipping_x002D_path" ... >

You can see that the - was converted to "x002D" for the "use" tag, but not for the "rect" tag.

    Test files attached.

    • Windows 10 Enterprise

  5. Illustrator crashes whenever export file to .png

My adobe illustrator is crashing whenever I try to save my file in .png form. I'm using illustrator inside a server and Adobe representatives can't help me troubleshoot. This problem only started a month ago and before I could save files in png. Any suggestion for fix will be appreciated. Thank you!

  6. Rotate tool Glitch

My rotate tool when used for copying with or without my wacom, starts sticking, and the object just keeps moving with my cursor. My only fix is restarting and hoping the app saved my recent changes. This is hindering me from doing BASIC and Simple things like copying a custom shape and maintaining the circular composition. I was trying to make a unique cycle like shape. I put the rotate point in the center and i was attempting to duplicate that shape inside the circle but instead of copying or doing anything, it just kept rotating even after i let…

  7. Transform Each records angles for gradients in a way Eyedropper cannot pick them

Take a look at the test file attached and the GIF with the steps.
    1. All gradients have zero angle
    2. Select All and call Transform Each dialog
    3. Set an angle (I chose45°) and disable Transform Objects — this should rotate only the fill, not the paths. Apply.
    4. Check the angles with the Gradient panel, the values is displayed as correct.
    5. Create a new rectangle and set its appearance to the default one with D hotkey
    6. Pick the Eyedropper toll and make sure both Appearance options are enabled in its options (otherwise it shouldn’t work at…

  8. Asset export scale not working correctly (1x, 2x, 3x etc.... no longer keep files at 72 ppi)

There is an issue with the asset export options in Adobe illustrator. When exporting with the png scale options .5x, .75x, 1x ,2x, 3x, etc... the file's ppi is also changing rather than staying at 72ppi. For Example when exporting a 100x100 square @1x, 2x, & 3x the expected behavior would be to get 3 pngs (@1x - 100x100px @72ppi), (@2x - 200x200px @72ppi), and (@3x - 300x300px @72ppi) (I'm pretty sure the asset export used to work this way); However what is happening now is you get 3 pngs (@1x - 100x100px @72ppi), (@2x - 200x200px @144ppi),…

  9. Illustrator 23 PDF-export: everything in caps after update 23.0.1

    Dear Adobe,

I updated some time ago to Illustrator 23.0.1 in Windows 10. And I run into a problem that drives me crazy. I work for a company, and our corporate font is the "Rotis" series (truetype). We use that for everything of course. The problem: When I export a file from Illustrator to PDF, the PDF is completely build up in capitals and the spacing is totaly incorrect. Below you can find the example. When I exchange the font to Arial e.g., the problem is not there. Also in all previous versions of Illustrator, the problem has never been…

  10. Bug of saving in the background of Illustrator 2020

If you save a document that uses a 2-byte spot color name in ai format, place this file in InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
It will be replaced by "Global color". And even if you export the PDF, it will be reflected. Turning off saving in the background can work around this, but this is an issue that should be resolved as soon as possible.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

  11. The GPU preview renderer glitches out on distortion meshes when the canvas is rotated.

See title, really. It might just be on distortion meshes inside of clipping masks; that's where I found it and I didn't bother checking for any further details.

  12. Export Artboards "Name" Error

I exported first one Artboard of 2 or 3 in the beginnning of a design process, the changed the names in the end of all 3 artboards to the projectname. The first artboard still kept the original name ("artboard 01" or else) so i had to rename by hand this file. Pretty weird.

  14. Symbol mangling when exporting into svg

I see an incorrect result when exporting into SVG through File -> Export -> Export As... -> save as SVG. I have two gradient filled rectangles presented as symbols (see .ai inside the attached .zip), one is blue gradient and the other is gray gradient. When export into svg, the resulting image shows both rectangles filled with gray gradient (see .svg inside the .zip).

It looks like AI thinks both symbols are visually the same an merges them into a single symbol. If i use solid colors, this doesn't happen.

As for SVG options see 'svg_options.png' inside the .zip.

  15. Activate text field for numeric Rotation

When the numeric rotation dialog is opened - it would be convenient when the text field is active for direct input of the Angle (I think this was the case in earlier versions).

In Ai19, the dialog is 'dead' - nothing happens when we start typing - whe have to type 5x Tab to get in the field.

  16. Hidden clipping mask still contributes to exported image

I had a design with two clippings mask applied to it, for layout and previewing purposes.
When time to export a final image comes, I hide the top-level smaller one, and leave the larger one at the bottom to clip my design.

But when I review the exported image, I realize Illustrator removed the some elements of the design, despite me seeing them on canvas. It took a live brush and deleted some parts of it even!

Take a look at the file attached.
    1. Open it
    2. Study the layer structure, notice a hidden clipping mask. Note the…

  17. Latest version of illustrator (v29.1) does not export pngs with the same pixel placements as the one before.

Export from the new version of illustrator places artwork off center: Up and to the left slightly. This causes SO much work in our pipeline, please fix this urgently.

  18. Exporting to png creates corrupted png file.

I'm having an issue with corrupted png files that were exported from Illustrator. If I export from photoshop, it's fine. I have exported from Illustrator a bunch of times before, so not sure what the problem is and what to do to correct the problem. Seems like it started with the latest update, but I'm not totally sure of that. Before this issue started, exporting to png was very fast. Now it is very slow, sometimes crashes the app, and when I do get a file and try to upload it online I get a corrupted file…

  19. Dashed lines changing style when exporting to SVG

The latest update to AI has caused this issue. When exporting an svg with dashed lines, the svg's dashed lines either disappear or become dotted lines.

    Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise
    Adobe Illustrator version: 27.0
    Steps:
    1) Open Adobe Illustrator
    2) Create a new file
    3) Draw a line
    4) Open the properties window by going to Window > Properties
    5) Click on the Stroke option
    6) Check "Dashed Line" on
    7) Set the first "dash" to 10
    8) Make sure the rest of the "gap" and "dash" options are blank
    9) Go to File > Export > Export

This issue was reintroduced in MacOS update Ventura. The team ran into another issue while implementing the workaround suggested by Apple. While the team revisits this issue, users can use workaround this issues by paste through context menu. Thank you all for the patience.
